Hey everyone! I've been using comet for a while now and love it but the only problem is it doesn't persist logins on platforms like gcp console or azure portal etc. although I allowed third party cookies. If I open a new tab I have to login every time. Has anyone experienced this before?

I’ve been using comet occasionally for some personal automation. I’ve run into some problems though, and I’m curious what y’all‘s experience has been.

For example, when I was trying to use comment to fill in my Instacart using a prebuilt shopping list, it would succeed, but it would only fill in about three or four products at a time before I’d have to tell it to continue

I’m aware of the inherent limitations on AI’s output length but I would expect an AI assistant to be able to do longer form tasks

Is this a limitation that has not yet been overcome or a failure on my part?

The methodology I used was having it due as I would typing into the search bar each time with the product name and selecting the one that fits closest. The most it was ever able to do was I believe 10 seasonings before finishing the output and stopping. I meant I certainly had to baby it through the process.

It definitely has the capability of doing longer tasks, but you have to play around with the prompting to get it to do it reliably.

Would include stuff like "Launch a separate task for each item that you add to my shopping list. Achieve all tasks before returning to the user. Do not stop until you have filled our shopping cart with ALL ITEMS. DO NOT stop in the middle and ask me to continue."

A lot of it is trial and error right now, since there is no sure fire way for it to not stop mid task and ask you to continue. That said, I've had it do 15+ minute tasks so I know it's possible.

It's getting scary good! 😅

I found out it can now control my browser using my voice commands with the voice assistant.

I also found out that Perplexity is now able to create good images on Canva when I asked it to control my browser.

My only problem is that even when I'm just asking some questions, it's going to proactively control my browser.

There are some cases where it's really helpful for data extraction, but for some simple queries, it's kind of scary. That's why I mentioned it's getting "scary good."

There's no consistency, models don't work that way. This is the problem that every prompt you took to ask to do a specific function or answers, is not guaranteed to go run up or create same answers. Even you've explicitly asked to open it in a new tab, it won't do it everytime. You can just create a prompt that could have the highest accuracy output of your desires.

In settinngs, the top section that says 'you and comet' has an import from browser option under the profile. You can choose what you import but you need cookies to get the auth cookies for Perplexity.

I believe those are the "perplexity usage limits".. it seems that the "comet pro searches" are the agentic task limits in comet and are pulled from a DIFFERENT limit 🤔

We’ve made Perplexity a lot faster on Comet. The search latency and time to first token should be a lot better on Comet than on other browsers. Right now, Perplexity on Comet is the fastest LLM-Search/Research has ever been, with as close to sub-second latency as possible.

The Comet browser has a bug. It's telling pro users that we are out of "Comet Pro searches" when we shouldn't be. These "Comet Pro Searches" Are the things that allow the comet browser to do agentic tasks (like taking over my screen, or going to another website and doing an action for me)
