asking any of these general models to answer math questions will only produce the most likely answer, not the correct one

you can ask it to write you a script or app or whatever to answer math questions but the model itself is just guessing the next chunk of output, it’s not “doing math” in any sense

not to mention, you’re asking the model to do this via perplexity which is first feeding the model a long list of instructions regarding search tool use since that’s what perplexity is for

Hi everyone I'm not sure if this is the right tag to address this issue but anyway. I got a month free trial by logging in with my student mail but i just got a mail with a warning of my trial ending soon and something about charging $20. I checked my subscription to see if i could cancel it or something but it didn't give me any option besides "don't cancel subscription" and "update subscription", it also said that after the free trial ends my subscription will be no longer available. So I'm not really sure if I'll be charged or not. Sorry if this is a dumb question btw is just that when i got the free trial it didn't ask for any billing info or anything. OK, I'm Still trying to figure out exactly how to use Perplexity and Comet. It seems like I keep asking to have specific tasks done, and it says the tasks are done, but they are verifiably undone.

For example, I have a prompt asking it to filter my email and move promotional items to the promotions folder, delete spam, and move important and urgent items to my action needed folder. It will say the task has been completed, but when I look at my email, absolutely nothing has been done.

Here is an example via screenshot of a simple task I asked it to do, and it said it had been completed, but it obviously had not been done. Any insights or advice here?

When it's time to execute it (Sunday at 8 PM), it warns me that the website needs credentials, which isn't possible. The odd thing is that the website only asks for credentials once, and then allows you to access without credentials. Hi, thanks for responding. I get the error both ways. I create a workflow and it gives me the error. And if I use the browser to tell it to "do this task on this website" at a certain time, it also gives me the error. However, when I tell it to do it now, it does it correctly.

Status: I completed the registration, and the Perplexity support team (via their agent Sam) confirmed yesterday that my student verification is complete and approved for the 12-month Pro plan.

Problem: My account is still on the basic plan.

Troubleshooting Done: I followed the official steps:

    Signed out.

    Cleared cache/cookies.

    Signed back in.

    It's been over 24 hours since I did this.

My question is: Has anyone else experienced this delay after being approved? Is there a common fix for this specific issue that I might be missing while I wait for the official support to follow up?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I contacted the support multiple times and other than getting automated reply, I didn't get any acknowledgement or update since I submitted it 7 days ago. I also contacted the moderator here, he also said that he made the support team aware of the issue, and nothing happened. It seems that I have a Pro account syncing problem, I can't use any advance pro features. The problem is across platform, android app, comet, Firefox, tablet. I appreciate your help.
