Hi all, has anyone noticed an issue with threads that you've had for awhile (2+ months) not retaining all the previous prompts and responses? I have one thread I use fairly regularly and used it today and it now has the title of the thread as the most recent prompt, vs the very first prompt I used for it. I also noticed that it only has about a week's worth of messages stored instead of all the prompts and responses since I started the thread

Helloo ..looks like Perplexity changed how deep searches work for free users or it might be a bug too. You could try logging out and back in or reinstalling the app. If that doesn’t help, probably best to reach out to their support. Hope it gets sorted soon!

Anyone else have an issue with two accounts and one email? Attempting to sign in on my laptop which I’ve been previously logged in with SSO after I had signed up for pro on my phone which appears not to be SSO, but the same email address. Hi, I was speaking with Sam, Perplexity's AI customer service assistant about this and was told that I would hear back from them, but Sam has been very silent for more than a week and even when I email or message Sam now they don't respond so I thought I'd come to this group and ask here.

I'm a pro customer and I'm getting this message saying I'm not allowed to add any more files to my space and there are 41 files in the space and my understanding is that pro users are able to have 50 and I get this message saying that I have more than 500.

Hi Perplexity, I have a doubt. Can you please add a feature that all the other AI applications have? Please try to implement the "Change Name" feature for the search history (Library) for the THREADS. I was unable to rename it — it was taking the entire prompt as the main heading. Please make sure to have a feature for renaming the search history (Threads). Please do this using the AI itself to rename it based on the prompt or question the user asked.

Currently, it seems we're only allowed to one shot prompts and then wait for the whole cycle to finish and then only be able to start all over again with an updated prompt for another new cycle. Labs works well for me, so it might be something specific to your setup.

If you're using Safari on your MacBook try checking this Apple support article. You could also try using Chrome or another browser to see if that helps.

Yep, full fresh set of thinking a generation of something slightly different. I have not had a genuinely successful app, always have bugs. What gets me is I've been close a few times, one tiny bug fix just undies the good work and always a step backward. Frustratingly close to being really useful. Well that's lil hard to answer, you can try all the models available in it, though personal preference is gpt 4o and claude sonnet 4(reasoning and non reasoning both) but do remember, pplx is search engine more than agentic search, so coding completely based on ai can make mistakes you gotta manually check it

currently the app doesnt support stable image generation, though u can do so via web just ask in the prompt to "generate image of..." you can choose the model for image generation in ur settings via setting>> preferences>>image generation model

My 2 Admin users are charged successfully, but when I invite 2 more members of my team (who are currently pro users) through the platform and sharing the link, they are blocked because they "need to complete payment process" - but my corp card is already registered and in MY set up flow it said any people that accept my invite will be added to my bill automatically.... Ok I heard back and to share with anyone here having the same issue, here is the response from Support. I emailed them and got a response within 10 mins!

The issue occurs because your team member currently has a personal Pro subscription. To join your Enterprise organization, they'll need to:

1. Cancel their existing personal Pro subscription

2. Accept the Enterprise invitation again

Once they complete these steps, they'll be able to join your organization and the corporate billing will be applied automatically - they won't need to enter any payment details.

They'll receive a refund for the remainder of their personal Pro subscription billing period automatically.

Let me know if you need any help with these steps!

pretty sure you are fighting with that RAG chunking. not only it is terrible at locating exact matches, it doesnt seem to be able to give multiple chunks in a sequence automatically, so either those agentic AIs in the chain have to understand this (I dont think that happens) or it has to be done repeatedly - be it more agentic, not ending research before all needed data has been extracted. "Research" mode maybe could do it, the loop, but the problem is that those chunks are really small, that combined with not being able to do exact search and getting somewhat random chunks leads to poor results

Hi all, Does anyone use the Perplexity Discord App? I have no trouble using Perplexity Pro via a broswer, but would like to incorporate it into my Discord servers even if it cannot connect to my Pro account. I'm using it with students in Discord to supplement what we do via a browser.

I saw two listed in the Discord Apps: PerplexityAI and Perplexity. Both seem official. The installed PerplexityAI first, but didn't respond to being tagged. The other Perplexity app reacted with the /perplexity comment, but only tells me "The application did not respond". I get the same results whether using the Win 11 Discord app or Discord via a web browser.
For reference, I've confirmed the Perplexity App Integration shows it can Read Message History, Send Messages, and has many other permissions. I did not see any restrictions that woudl prevent it from responding.

I'm stumped. Thoughts?

interesting thing is that Spaces got the query wrong (consistently), while normal thread got it 100% correct

while Perplexity with Gemini 2.5 Pro as the selected model gets it 100% right (both answer and justification) with normal chat

good POC (proof of concept) that one AI model may acutally be worse than something else that has different interface/processing

also probably completely destroys all the "reviewers" who are giving advice on which AI is better. I doubt they have actually experimented with Perplexity the way I have etc

unfortunately (for lack of better word), the "way you interact" with the AI might acutally be more important than one thinks

i'm on pro subscription, whenever i select models like sonnet 4.0 or gpt 4.1, it doesn't seem to use those models, instead it uses sonnet 3.5 or gpt 4o?
why does this happen?

It is using sonnet 4 and GPT 4.1, the models just aren’t aware what they are

I got the same problem, and the support answered me that they have technical problems with connecting to their providers, and reroute all requets to their own AI

This is wrong, if you ask questions like "who created you", Gemini or GPT will answer right

Those providers tell the model what they are in their system prompt

Perplexity doesn’t do that

i'm not distinguishing anything, it's what the models are saying

and if i compare responses side by side w sonnet 4 and perplexity's sonnet 4, they are much worse, and that is how i got doubtful.

They make up this "information" because their system prompt prohibits providing accurate information about the version of a specific model.

the only decent Perplexity model is Gemini 2.5 Pro, and that's only if it's encouraged to think more deeply and comprehensively with the appropriate system prompt. @storm oar

so i've tried same set of prompts on both sonnet 4 on perplexity, and sonnet 4 on claude free tier, i found perplexity's response much worse. could you explain why is that?
is it because perplexity forwards the "prompts" requests in a certain manner?
