Curious one which concerned me a great deal: assume all of these conversations are incognito - on my previous mobile device, the Perplexity App had no microphone access. After doing an online Spanish lesson on the same phone, my next conversation with Perplexity, which I tried to conduct in English, gave responses only in Spanish.

I've previously had issues where the app has used my location without my permission, although I have no idea how it would have achieved this without my enabling it in the settings: for instance, asking about how to access a specific internet resource yielded the app telling me to go to the university library I was already sitting in. Asking about recommendations for a restaurant on the other side of town resulted in it telling me about a restaurant I was standing right next to, and so on.

Any explanations for these? I'm trying now to set up voice access on a new phone right now but should I be concerned?

On the Perplexity iPadOS and iOS app, I think it would be good if there was a one click function to toggle on incognito mode. There’s already pretty much a one click function to turn it off inside the app. Also, in incognito mode, since Perplexity holds onto the data for 24 hours, it would be good if there was a temporary library where you could go back to the query within that 24 hour timeframe.

Updated the Android App, immediately regretted it. Can you please fix the typing UI so it's not forced to one line tall and I can't make paragraphs. I don't want to have to scroll through a single line for my prompts. I want to be able to see at least more than 8 words of my prompt at a time. Also why remove the ability to make new paragraphs?

However to my disappointment on IOS, it seems Apple limits the search engines you can use for Safari - however there is a way to do it using an extension. I don’t want to use a third party extension and I think it would be better if the Perplexity app also installed a Safari extension that lets you choose Perplexity as its search engine by enabling it. Can someone point me to the perplexity AI mobile assistant feature roadmap for Android and iOS? I'd really like a way to track when it will become useful to me. I'd primarily like to have more integration into the android ecosystem and Google home management for example. However, I bet there is going to be a more general concept integration. Want to know why I have an annual subscription to Perplexity but prefer spending my time on other apps like Claude or Grok?

Perplexity's interface is too complicated for most users and not intuitive. I just want to use a chatbot with my preferred engine, whether it's Claude or Grok via Perplexity, but I'm forced to create a dedicated space, which requires me to perform 4 actions to access my chat. Why isn't the interface simpler? Why can't I have a simple interface when I open the app that takes me directly to a chat with my pre-prompt and the AI I've chosen? If I want to choose a different engine or play with search options, then I'm okay with performing multiple actions.

Here's how I envision the ideal app to solve this problem:

Central page: When you launch the app, you find an interface similar to all other chatbots (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.). With simple options like deep thinking, web search, simple minimalist buttons, camera, voice feature, and the selector - nothing more.

Right page: If you want to geek out with advanced options, a simple swipe to the right to switch to advanced mode if you feel like it, as this mode is only used occasionally by most users.

And if you swipe right again (or left depending on the main page), you arrive in the spaces section. I have nothing to say about the spaces feature, except for the fact that you can't add GitHub repos, but well, Perplexity isn't made for developers, I can understand that.

Anyway, if you've read this, thank you. I doubt my suggestions will ever be implemented, especially since I'm not an app developer. I'm just sharing my user experience. If you can relate...

Hey Perplexity, I love the app + web experience so far. I just want to leave feedback that I'd appreciate on Android if you can make it easier for me to see and edit my textbox input by increasing the textbox height and/or making it scrollable vertically instead of having to navigate my text as one line on the textbox. One example is how discord is supporting me typing this message rn. That way I have an easier time editing my long query either before its sent or afterwards with the edit query option.

1st - I am loving perplexity so far. 2nd - IMO I think there is something amiss with the "click" vs "tap" detection when reading stories in the Discovery section of the iOS app. I would guess that a solid 20%+ of the time, the app pops up the image at the top of the story to it's enlarged state when I'm just trying to scroll the story down. I am in fact starting my swipe on the image, but I'm not purposely trying to enlarge it, I'm just swiping.

Show thread summaries or main topics in the library instead of just the original prompt for easier navigation.

Allow users to view the latest prompt in threads with multiple follow-ups, reducing unnecessary scrolling.

Restore the separate Math section for quick access to math-focused features.

Improve image and file upload speeds, which are currently slower than competitors.

Bring key web-only features-like export options, page editing, and the animated search logo-to the mobile app for consistency.

Refine the copy function so users can copy only the answer, not the entire prompt and citations.

@tall verge i noticed a bug at perplexity assistant. if you ask it a question, perplexity answers you normal, but if you ask a follow up question and attach an image to it by turning the camera on, it gets stuck with the answer and you can't ask any more questions during the current conversation.

and i dont know if i already said it, but can you please fix the issue, that if you talk to perplexity via the voice mode, it's answer also gets stuck, when it searches through many sources, like more than 15 or 20.

I know the perplexity app has a feature to read responses out loud, but it talks too fast.

I have ADHD and it’s difficult for me to focus, and when I pause the read out loud feature, I can’t make it go back to the beginning and read it again, it stays where I paused it. So I have to exit the question and open it again for it to restart from the beginning. But aside from that minor issue, the playback feature would be extremely helpful for those who don’t process information as fast as others.

The overall speed of PDF and image uploads in the mobile version is significantly slower compared to GPT and Gemini. Grok, on the other hand, is incredibly fast compared to all of them. Often, when trying to upload just one document, I have to attempt multiple times because it gets stuck loading indefinitely and eventually fails to upload. Perplexity for iOS can use precise location data, but that data cannot be used to tell the user where they are. There are very specific instances where I am traveling when I might need to quickly ask Perplexity what state I am in and what my rights as a traveler are. Perplexity is able to tell me my rights, but I need to tell Perplexity where I am myself. This is a feature request to give Perplexity location awareness for the purpose of telling the user where they are and using that context for location-specific questions.

What is happening with Perplexity Pro? It was my preferred AI, but recently its performance has degraded significantly. It now frequently forgets context mid-conversation. The new voice mode stops speaking abruptly while still processing audio, and it's impossible to re-enter a voice chat. When it provided incorrect information, I cross-referenced with Claude Pro. 🎤 Improved Voice Recognition
The voice recognition feature should, like in ChatGPT, not stop automatically during brief pauses, but only when I actively tap the microphone icon.

This would allow me to pause and think while speaking without the recording ending unexpectedly.

An optional “Pause” function would also be helpful, so users can manually insert longer breaks.

Note: On Android devices, the privacy-friendly “FUTO Voice App” already offers this—voice recordings can be started and stopped manually and completely offline. This shows that such a feature is technically feasible and very practical for users.

✅ Structuring Answers with Symbols
Answers could, as in ChatGPT, be made clearer and more readable by using symbols (e.g., checkmarks, arrows, bullet points).

This would improve readability and create a more modern, appealing presentation.

There is a significant drawback in Perplexity that sets it apart from ChatGPT. It fails to remember the tone of previous responses when attempting to answer in a new window. As each chat window has separate sessions, you need to input the same prompt every time. The greatest strength of ChatGPT is that once you decide how to respond in memory, it will apply consistently in new windows, making it very convenient. Perplexity must address this issue.

For example, even if you say "If I ask questions related to the universe, find scientific evidence and papers and answer kindly and in detail so that even elementary school students can understand. Remember and always maintain the same tone" in a new tab, it won't apply.

Have you used spaces yet? Spaces use custom instructions which should do this in theory, it's not the same as ChatGPT memory which persists everywhere, but it should be a viable option for you

I often search for advice of how to complete physical tasks in the real world. I have pretty much replaced Google with Perplexity for most of my searches, but in this case there are some shortcomings:

In regards to video reference material found by clicking the “video” header in perplexity’s response to my query.:

1- Allow the video to change from portrait to widescreen when I turn my device sideways (as it works in browsers and the YT app). I’m old, it’s hard to see so small.
2- allow perplexity app to open YT app when clicking the YT link in the video (in most cases, if you fix my complaint #1, this would be moot, however there are instances when I want a video in my YT history). This is also typical behaviour when using other browsers.

A couple of minor but oddly persistent quirks in the iOS/iPadOS app make prompt editing feel a bit like defusing a bomb with oven mitts:

(i) There’s no obvious way to insert a linebreak; both Enter and Shift-Enter just fire off the prompt immediately. Fine for quick questions, but awkward when trying to format code or write anything more structured.

(ii) If you paste anything into the prompt with text already present (and not fully selected), it submits instantly without the pasted content. It’s impressively eager, but not exactly helpful.

Neither of these happen in the web UI, and other iOS apps seem to behave more sensibly. At the moment I draft longer prompts in Textastic as a workaround, which feels a bit overkill.

Would love to see this smoothed out; cheers and thanks for all the excellent work!

It is a visual bug in model selector. If new query will be made it will have the same model as selected before. It can be checked by clicking on Perplexity Pro pill at the top of the generated answer - in details of Pro search steps we have name of the model used and it will be something like Reasoning with <model name>

Sadly I'm having to return to using Google gemini for my assistant rather than perplexity. I like perplexity better in general but it still is completely unable to do basic tasks like adding an event to my calendar from the text on my screen, "navigate home", ask questions about emails etc. Would love to come back when these are implemented but as it stands today I have to migrate away.

Perplexity should impliment feature like chatgpt app where if the answer is taking longer to generate and if user wants to minimize the app the answer should be generated in background and once answer is read (it could be image, text, research whatever) then a notification to be sent to user that it's ready. Hi. I saw some requests here about the font size being too small. But I have the opposite problem. The font size on the question, especially while the question is just a few characters, is HUGE. So much so, that it is a privacy issue for me from shoulder surfing.

It looks beautiful at 72 pixels, but many times I found myself shying away from typing something out in public where other people were in proximity.

Can we please make the question font the same no matter how long the question is?

We can allow giant font for the first question ever made. A celebratory, first ever question can be huge. Fine. But subsequent questions should just stick to simple one size font. Please.

I have recently started using Perplexity Pro ( Airtel Network Subscription) in my Android Device. One thing which I noticed is that unlike Gemini or Google Assistant, Perplexity AI Does not respond to the wake word "Ok Google" . I understand that it is proprietary to Google and Gemini but I was wondering if there is any way to make Perplexity AI to integrate with Google Assistant to use the wake word or maybe Perplexity can respond to its own wake word. FYI, as of now I have changed my default mobile assistant from Gemini to Perplexity and I am feeling it a bit odd to use the phone every time I want something from perplexity AI. Having a Wake Word will be much better I think.

I have a problem, why is it not an option to disable search in android for non-search based queries?

I think in previous versions there used to be writing mode which follows instructions without search. It's useful for quick basic summarisation tasks and for answering basic questions very quickly. IMO would also make app feel snappier.

Got a feature idea for you tho which is really bugging me (as I've accidentally deleted a few VIP threads over the last year or so that were super valuable to me):

Why it's useful: "Makes it easier to avoid losing threads when swiping or mistakenly deleting"

How it should work briefly: "Enable a lock toggle on each thread that disables swipe-to-delete or auto-deletion until unlocked"

Any problems it solves: "Prevents accidental deletion, which currently cannot be undone"

Also FTR, I do tend to use perplexity mostly on my Android so would personally love the LOCK to definitely work there - as well as any other places I use it inc iOS and Mac OS.

1 To be able to LOCK threads (very easy to scroll and accidentally swip and delete them forever).

CATEGORIES
2 Introduce option to sort topics by alphabetic order, date added & date modified, like you can do with YT playlists. I have so many P-topics but BC they're not alphabetical, it's hard to see them easily ABC J think J can even make duplicate topics which is an issue!

3. It's sticky when I go to save/swap a thread to a category it's like I can't scroll down through all my categories before it jumps back to the thread and I have to try again. It happens the first few times, almost every time.

4 Be handy to be able to tag multiple categories like YT playlists too (but lowest in my wish list!)

It would be great if the same model selection feature could be added to the mobile app, so that users can switch between different image generation models without having to use the web version.

I really enjoy using Perplexity, but I’d like to bring up an issue that’s been bothering me.

I have noticed that, in the Perplexity mobile app, it is not possible to individually delete previously uploaded attachments. Old images or files are repeatedly referenced in new conversations because there is no “remove” button or clear option. This is causing a lot of inconvenience, as I cannot manage or delete attachments after they have been uploaded.
I hope the app can add a dedicated function for managing and deleting attachments, so earlier uploads will not affect new inquiries. This issue is very noticeable and significantly impacts the user experience.

Can you add these 2 options in your assistant. These are the most helpful features for many users and I use the first one everyday to copy some text that any app doesn't allow me to. For example, I wanna copy some text from a YouTube description, I use the Google assistant's "search screen" and select the text and copy it.

That's quicker than taking a screenshot, opening your app, uploading there and writing a prompt about it.

I second the CarPlay request. At the very least, I hope Perplexity “fixes” the widget in iOS 26 so we can launch Perplexity in the car. Right now, the button doesn’t work.

Also, when using Perplexity with CarPlay currently, if you switch to an audio app, the Perplexity app doesn’t pause which has the effect of making the audio sound terrible. Other apps like Gemini handle this just fine.

The new location of discover is frustrating in iOS app. Being in the top right unlabelled made it harder to find. Also when using the discover feed there is a bug. The back button scrolls with the feed so in order to return home you must scroll all the way back to the top. Though admittedly I have discovered the swipe navigation, perhaps something to make it a more obvious feature like a subtle animation on open / or first open that shows there is swipe navigation/overlay.

Issue with Manual Copy-Pasting on Perplexity app for Android 😭

A recent update has broken the ability to manually copy/paste formatted text from Perplexity responses into external applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets, FB Msgr, Messages/SMS Text.)

Previously, manual selection (long-press to highlight and copy) would paste clean, fully formatted, properly spaced, aligned text. Now, it includes the underlying Markdown code (**, ##, etc.), as well as jumbled, misaligned text, which requires manual cleanup.

I am a daily Pro user who relies on this functionality daily for personal docs, tables, financial tracking, organization etc as drafts and templates.

😮‍💨 Additional Problem: Formatting Inconsistency

Even when specifically requesting formatted text, a table or CSV, the results are inconsistent, making workarounds unreliable and disruptive.

I manually c/p because the built-in "copy" icon is also unsuitable as it includes Markdown and source links. The previous ability to manually copy clean, formatted text is essential.

It is so much worse I feel like everyday. It was almost perfect months ago when I started using it

I genuinely feel it gets worse every single day now

1. The massive delay when pressing the stop button to interrupt the AI reading an answer out loud in assistant mode... Why??

2. It has gotten so much worse as voice recognition now. I will test out in my other voice to text services and it's coming though fine. Yet Perplexity interprets it as something that makes zero sense....

3. The new female voice assistant vs the old male is so much worse sounding. Sounds completely robotic and just lacks quality or flow

4. The image generation is sooooo bad. I literally just attempted to get two lines of text, top and bottom, separated by an image in between.... Every time it makes the text white on white background or maybe doesn't even place it at all. It acknowledges the mistakes and then does it again

Eventually just saying I should go make it in Photoshop myself

5. I have no idea what randomly causes the issue with looking at my current screen to answer questions but randomly it will be so adamant that it can't do this and could never do this.

It seems like it takes a screenshot and then views that.... But it doesn't know it does that. So it will randomly argue with me that it has never been able to view my screen, can't and won't. Despite the fact I can point it to an interaction the same day it did.

It just constantly gets worse and it's bumming me out because it was the first agent/assistant that felt useful and just worked .... But now.... It's becoming barely functional

That is the nature of image generation. You can change the image model from the settings on your browser (it will apply on all future chats not just on browser) but it won't help. Writing words on image using image gen is just not possible (without a comfyui workflow or other such workarounds)

This is a very simple piece of feedback that can drastically help increase the accessibility and usage of the “Discover” feed in the Perplexity Mobile app.

Currently the only way to view your personalized Discover feed is by opening the app and navigating into the Discover tab.

It would be of great help if a custom widget was added to the app whose sole purpose is to show the Discover feed. This would let users easily access their feeds and stay connected.

It would also be far better than many RSS apps(feedly) and other such Discover feeds(native Google Discover feed limited to Android).

This is a really handy feature especially for iOS users as it doesn’t come with any such news/article feeds by default in the home-screen.

My pro subscription got cancelled recently by perplexity team stating "Your Airtel account is inactive and is ineligible for subscription". As I got these pro subscription through Airtel promotional campaign on my mobile number. Regarding the issue stated by perplexity support my account is inactive but My account is active and there is no violation of rules/TC related to the subscription. They have directly disabled my subscription without any reason.

When I contacted perplexity support they said me "Airtel has provided the status of my account to them which as inactive and told to check with Airtel support directly for the issue ". When I contacted Airtel support, they told me "Directly contact with perplexity support for subscription issues ". Now I got very frustrated with their playing contact games with each.

Means they both don't have value of user who has been using their services from a while. These seems like scam game by both of them. Also I am not sure weather they will solve my issue or not.

I tried creating one, but as you can see in the image (1st one) its output cannot be read by other actions and it cannot take an input from other actions (text). On iOS the perplexity app has an annoying issue with being able to swipe back on the text input box

That's really frustrating! Especially since A) Longer conversations struggle to load since it starts from the oldest and loads progressively newer and B) it clears your input every time

I don't really think swiping back from anywhere from the edge should be possible anyways but it's a modern trend, it is what it is... But please for the love of everything, don't have that input work in the text field!

... Also if you're scrolled all the way to the bottom sometimes just tapping the send button will put me back as well.

It would be super helpful to have different sharing options when you want to share a search because most of the time I only want to share a specific search inside a long thread and not the full thread. I often end up taking a screenshot instead of using the sharing option. Hence, we could have these below options when we click on share button under the search result:
-This specific search only
-All the thread from the beginning
-This search and below thread

Another improvement idea that would 10x my user experience is : Keep the audio button always at the top below the prompt to avoid scrolling down at the bottom each time I want to listen instead of reading. Listen/audio mode is very useful on mobile for multitasking in our daily life so I use it most of the time.

Lastly, adding a down arrow button near the prompt to go directly at the answer. It would be very very practical for my summary of long text extracts which is making a super long prompt. This will avoid to scroll down a long time to get at the answer and often we need to scroll back up to find the exact beginning of the answer.

I joined perplexity through an ad that b PayPal. I sign up link my card and I get perplexity pro for a year. It shows on my PayPal account that it is active though I do not reap the benefits. Oh, I was so wrong, things are starting to open up the more time I spend on it

Browser control is so much there.
Just to test I open Spotify and YouTube music in two different tabs and gave a command to move my playlist from Spotify to YouTube.

Though comet was not able to do it but to no mistake of its own, as web versions of these apps are not as supportive as apps.
It took substantial amount of time for it to do it but the efforts were commendable. Some issues I met down the way:

• You've to keep the browser tab open at all time, if you switch the tab then comet can't keep up unlike comet for windows
• You cannot use any other app or even if the phone locks automatically, browser control stops
• it is confusing to toggle between multiple open tabs as assistant will start fresh for each tab and you always have to come to the original tab where in you have given the command for browser control.

But it is fascinating to use comet and its browser control feature on my Android. I'll play with it further

For example, I told Comet to copy some content and then open Gmail to mail it, but once a new tab opened, it forgot the instructions and restarted the chat.

Please fix this - the Al should retain context across tabs for smoother task continuation.

@stiff elk I've found serious issue in the Comet Android Beta. When I export a PDF from Google Docs and open it through Comet (which is set as my default browser), the file downloads in a .bin format instead of .pdf.

This makes the downloaded file unusable. Please fix this issue urgently so that files retain their correct format when downloaded through the Comet browser.

Hi team—I've recently tried Comet for Android, and I've noticed some important limitations:

The Android version of Comet is missing several essential keyboard shortcuts that are present on desktop.

Also, on Android it appears not to be possible to refer to Spaces or Chats using the @ symbol as you can on desktop.

Both of these features are key to my workflow, and their absence on mobile is preventing me from moving fully into the Comet ecosystem.

I've checked both the Perplexity Space and the Discord, I'm not seeing these gaps addressed or flaged as "known issues." If these are not already on your radar, I want to formally request feature parity for @mentioning Spaces and shortcut support on mobile.

It would be really helpful if you could add Live Activities support on iOS. When running longer research tasks in the background, users have no easy way to see if the process is still active or when it’s done. A Live Activity would solve that letting us track progress directly from the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island without reopening the app.

I don’t know that they will be reliable honestly, you might have to request a refund through your Apple account by going and checking your previous purchase history. If it has been longer than 24 hours you should be able to submit a request saying that the subscription did not function as expected, because it obviously didn’t. But unfortunately since they charge through Apple, I think you technically have to go through Apple‘s nonsense.

And if for whatever reason Apple denies the refund, then you can think about contacting perplexity directly through their support chains like emails and what not. I just figured that this one would be much faster as Apple tends to make those decisions within 24 to 48 hours.

1. Long scrolling when adding new questions to a long thread
Issue:
The interface scrolls ALL the way through the conversation history to get down to the question that's just been asked.

Reproduce:
Open an existing, long conversation.
Stay at the opening screen (top of the conversation).
Ask a Follow-Up question.
Observe that the interface scrolls ALL the way through the conversation history to get down to the question that's just been asked.
This is annoying and takes unnecessary time.

Suggested behaviour:
Interface jumps straight to the bottom and begins processing the request.

2. Difficulty editing a long question
Issue:
When editing a question that requires scrolling back (downwards swipe) through the text, it's FAR too easy to over-swipe and close down the edit window.
It literally took me about 10 goes to CAREFULLY scroll back through a long question so that I could edit something at the top.

Suggested solutions:
a) A physical X to close the edit window, not a swipe gesture.
b) A Larger window for editing the question text

I would like to report for the 3rd or 4th time this, which I believe to be a misinterpretation of high level design by the ios app team. Have "Ask follow up" functionality copy and paste selected chat text into the open prompt dialog and submit does not seem to serve any meaningful functional purpose or streamline ux workflow, whereas, in Comet or any browser version of perplexity this function as "Add to follow-up" serves a very useful functional feature which does streamline ux workflow for user chat. Why this is being missed I have no idea and it is long outstanding. Please fix as it is becoming extremely annoying and indicative of happens when project cross channel communication fails and no one cross checks design intent. Notice screenshots attached mobile intent is just a regurgitation of what was selected with an auto post trigger, while browser verions of this feature is well done, giving content for the next iteration of user input without an auto post trigger but an attachment to prompt in context. Someone is really missing it here, and a lot of ios users will benefit from fixing this.

Issue: Enter key doesn't submit queries with external keyboard

Using Android with Samsung Dex + external keyboard on both Comet and Perplexity apps

When typing a query, pressing Enter just creates a new line instead of submitting. Have to tap the send button on screen.

Tried these keyboard shortcuts - none worked:
• Tab (to navigate to send button)
• Alt+Enter
• Ctrl+Enter

Is there a keyboard shortcut to submit queries in Dex mode, or could this be added? Would really improve the workflow when using an external keyboard.
