Free ChatGPT is not that great in my opinion... you only get like 10 queries per 5 hours with the real GPT-5 model, and only 1 dedicated thinking query per day (with thinking toggled on, though you can always use your 10 queries to do some thinking too).

So yeah, definitely worth it to use the reasoning models in perplexity if your alternative is ChatGPT free.

I mean, I still spread out queries between different things to compare (occasionally one will find some points that others haven't considered)... it just takes a lot of time to go through them all to do that. Also keep in mind that Google AI Studio gives lots of free queries for Gemini 2.5 Pro, and you can use some free queries on other services too.
