I think there's a big difference between few-shot and single-shot prompting.
If you want to build an application better, go with other AI tools and implement them using few-shot prompting rather than single-shot — it’ll be more effective.
Because AI still hasn’t reached the level where a single prompt can generate an entire expected application without bugs.
But still, it’s not that bad Perplexity is good for non-tech people to get an idea built as a prototype based real time search.

Starting a few months back, Perplexity iOS app NEVER provides a response for me. It works on my MacBook, in the browser (Edge or Safari) but not in the macOS app. Apparently it's not friendly with Proton VPN. Changing servers no longer resolves the issue. I understand the rationale of blocking baddies, but I'm not willing to work online without VPN. I've canceled my auto-renewal and hope Perplexity will apply some of its smarts to figuring out how to work consistently with VPNs.
