Hello, I am so new to all of this, I don't know where to start! I am an old lady trying to keep up. I am in my early 50's and have 20+ years of work experience in the technical support industry having worked for Dell, Apple and Comcast, so I have technical skills, and since I have become physically disabled and out of the workforce, I have too much time on my hands so I was roaming YouTube wasting time this last Wednesday morning when I saw a video about making money using AI and I thought I would see how it was possible and when that 8 minute video ended, I was left completely mind-blown! People my age have been trained since birth to believe AI is the epitome of evil because all we knew about it was what we saw in the movies and all the AI movies are about how AI is out to either destroy the world, destroy humanity, or enslave all the humans... of course I was avoiding it! But I am logical and I know it's not the machine, it the programmer, so I went back to YouTube, watched a couple of more videos about which AI tools were the best for beginners, and every one of those videos featured Perplexity on the list of must haves, so I have 3 days experience talking back and forth with CGPT, and now I am here and don't know what to do next!

Ah, forgot to introduce myself, so... Hi! I'm Jaicraft, and I'm a BIG AI enthusiast. Ever since ChatGPT (and before, AI dungeon comes to mind), I've always wondered what a good AI chatbot can be... And, now we have LOTS of them. Okay, so... How did I find Perplexity? Well, by just hearing about it online. I kept and kept hearing about it, so decided to try it. I was... A bit bored with it. Moved on quickly. Fast forward to about a few days ago... I already have ChatGPT Plus, Gemini Advanced... and... Copilot Pro. I HATE Copilot so much for it's terrible search and rollouts, so I didn't renew the sub. I needed something to replace it, though... Then, remembered Perplexity existed! Tried free again, it was wayyyyy better than before, now I have Pro, and, gotta say... Definitely my favorite chatbot/AI search engine so far. It's so versatile, with the many different model options, and there's so many features. I LOVE PPLX COPILOT, it's SO useful. MS Copilot honestly tarnishes the name... Anyways, Perplexity has the BEST search by FAR. Only problem is lack of integrations, code interpreter, and GPT-4 Turbo. But yeah, that's it for the paragraph. Thx for making such a great product! (and sorry for the long text lmaoooo)

IIRC, one thing mentioned in the freakonomics pod was that chatgpt doesn't save conversations, and maybe that was once true, but I don't think that's a competitive edge. I think chatGPT could do a lot better of organizing and incorporating previous conversations into the current one, so I hope perplexity addresses that weakness

I work in the Fortune 50 retail space, but the sweeping tide of AI development has had me doing deep dives into all sorts of new platforms, apps, and software development projects lately in order to keep up with the tech developments that are largely coming out of Silicon Valley startups and decentralized Web3 initiatives lately. I started off on ChatGPT and still use it a great deal, but Perplexity has become my go-to for any actual research that I do because of its excellent citing of sources, its transparency (and solicitation of user input/clarification) when asking questions, and the awesome thread continuation auto-suggestions each time you receive an output. The inclusion of news articles and various other suggested prompts is also a huge value add to me. I'm still very much figuring out how to leverage Pwrplexity's capabilities to the fullest, which is why I'm here: to learn and explore. Nice to be here, and I look forward to exploring together!

I haven't been using perplexity for a very long time, but it’s a great product. It genuinely serves the purpose of answering my day-to-day questions and satisfying my curiosities.

However, recently, I started using perplexity for crypto news and the latest cryptocurrency updates, where perplexity is failing incredibly and giving me wrong answers, even when I ask very specific questions.

I started using Chat in Nov 2023. That led to an inordinate amount of research and learning. Along the way I stumbled on the EverydayAi podcast which I have been a daily consumer of for sometime. It was through that podcast that I learned about Perplexity. My experience with Perplexity is similar to another’s that I just read here, inasmuch as I used the Ai once, immediately realized its value and opened up my wallet on the spot. I’ve found Perplexity to be a really great pairing with Chat GPT and I run them in tandem. We started down the road of building our first tools in 2024. Nothing earth shattering, simply tools for our own productivity and brand. The idea is to build something small, use it, test it, experience some easy wins and see where that takes us in this brave new world. I’ve been in business since 1986 as an incorporated entity so I’ll let you do the math, but thanks to (hopefully) an open mind and general curiosity about life, it has been possible to embrace this time with wonder and excitement and jump in with both feet. There is trepidation of course, but feeling the love, not fear.

I was using poe.com as a pair-programmer and research assistant (for Claude2 or GPT4 to summarize or critique long papers, research proposals, etc) but Poe moved from rate-limiting to hard monthly usage caps. Hello! My name is not one I am comfortable to share yet. However, I can tell you a few other things, I am a person that loves to try out many things... Back in 3rd grade, I was new to my school and tried basketball. I wasn't the best, so I quit for 4th grade. Then I rejoined in 5th grade, then I knew I was not the sporty person. In 6th grade, I got into academics, I tried out for the Science Olympiad Team and got in, we got 1st place in our competition. In 7th grade, I did Science Olympiad and we got 4th place. BTW my team name is Oak Avenue Intermediate Middle School. Now I am here using Perplexity. Sorry for the long backstory and about not really telling you about my personal information. Now, the reason I am using Perplexity is for school and Science Olympiad. I love this website/app because it is a very fast and reliable source of information. It is also very nice and relaxing way to plow through some work when answers await you just around the corner. Some other things about me is that I love music, I play the violin and piano. I am a very "good" geometry dash player, I love to make friends and I love chats. I am almost always online listening to Spotify. I love reading and I have a very creative mind. I love building things, and I love studying interesting topics that don't always apply to anything. I always have a jumbled mind and won't always think clearly. I am the inventor/cofounder/CTO of Glydr, a new I/O peripheral that enables game/computer/VR users to employ their feet along with their hands when doing anything digital. I think I learned about Perplexity from the Wall Street Journal and installed it on my iPhone. I am extremely impressed. I used it recently to instruct me how to add an external user to an Azure web server and for other technical guidance. I also used it to create a paper for a submission to present at an upcoming XRAccess conference about how to solve the VR locomotion problem. It did a great job! Hi, never realized I introduced myself. I’m a lawyer from the Midwest who arrived at the start of what I think is a second wave of interest and adoption from the bottom up. I’ve got a lot of stuff in the mix in terms of research and prep for writing and presentations with a talk on ethics last week and another more general one a couple weeks ago. Working on multiple talks to the local bar (to start) about using language models and other machine learning techniques under our ethics guidelines. I’m also a digital forensics examiner and do that at scale from phones to full companies in bankruptcy. Was almost jaded.... Then Perplexity came up over the horizon... A mirage of sorts.... And I didn't even know it had all those status conscious VCs and smart VCs and other corp VCs? HI all I am a psychic medium and Higher self channel who wants to use AI to tune people into thier own spiritual gifts that they were born with but likely shut down at an early age only leaving open the door to the voice of their soul AKA thier Intuition but only by chance or through coincidences they experience the messages they are getting from the other side... I am excited to use perplexity but am not familiar with it at all. I was told by 11 seperate people that perplexity carries the tools inside to draw the charts that I create that who individuals what I see in their energy, what their souls multidimensional body means and what it looks like to a clairvoyant like me.. does any one have any advice on how to use this ai tool in a way that will enhance people spiritually or at least on a soul level?
