My favorite thing about LE is that it really enables my alt-itis. Ive currently got a druid, runemaster, falconer and void knight that I like. Plus a beastmaster and sorcerer build that I want to get some uniques/sets before I embark on them.
Bro i wanna play enshrouded😭
Bro, you're allowed to play Enshrouded.
I agree, I tried Nightingale, I was not impressed at all.
The game released way too early
ikr. was watching a friend stream nightingale last night and the combat was the jankiest I've ever seen.
Yeah, the AI is so bad for it too, being able to dodge 3-4 mobs attacking from different angles and take them out with a knife while taking no damage is amusing, but gets boring fast.
The stamina limit was the only real limiting factor, and it's so easy to dodge that I used that time to get it back so I could stab again.
My worry with Nightingale is that it will lack.. stuff.
Proc-gen is a cool beast but it needs alot of variation in poi's and even more generation inside them to not become dull quick. And then they also need to have it be coherent and have a point - its a hard balance unless ur making minecraft.
(Typo)
True. I even saw the same POI I had on my abeyance isle in a video of the game and he's much further along and had the exact same POI.
When you get to that point where it is like "Ah, its another Temple-Template B"
"Oh, rock outcrop 3 and bundle of palm trees 2 next to eachoter"
Minecraft on the other hand had it as a premise from the getgo and has had like so many years to add and re-iterate on procgen
Where can I find it?
In Enshrouded and not in any Other Games i bet ^^
I am experiencing this atm haha
i was tryna spend 1 day playing this game but can't seem to connect
Yeah. I gave up today and just ended up playing a bunch of Granblue Fantasy Relink.
I guess back to Helldivers XD
PVZ:GW ( the original one) is 10 years old, only have 330 hours in it, as opposed to 3200 in GW2, but it's good to see the YouTubers celebrating the original. Of course, EA made BfN and messed it all up, and then wondered why it sold barely 1 million copies as opposed to 10 million plus for the GW games. Leave it to EA to not even do greed right.
This game is gonna put me in A.A.

Have you seen videos of the process of boarding an opposing ship in this game? It's kinda pathetic - they just do a mini cutscene instead of any actual gameplay for the boarding process
Which is weird becuase Assassin's Creed: Black Flag is also Ubisoft and had a pretty good, well fleshed-out mechanism for boarding
Anyone play minecraft?
Yep
Varies really, mostly modded solo stuff these days.
I usually play survival, it feels like more rewarding gameplay to make grand journeys to get certain blocks and materials ^^
Yeah Survival.
Definitely survival, creative always feels too much like I didn't "earn" the builds.
What is LE Zerax? And hi
Last Epoch
Thank you my child
You have to find the hunter's loom in East Lapis before you can make the leather required to produce padding.
anyone tried Nighingale? 🤣
Yep. I think there's a good game in there, but it need some more time to cook before it reaches its potential.
Nah, I don't think it's that bad. I could see the game being pretty fun in a 6-8 month timeline if they know what they're doing.
how? u tried to craft anything?
did u see that the base blocks have nothing to do with victorian style?
to me feels like a generic UE5 map with Landmass and Skybox
Valehei, Grounded, Sons of the Forest are wats the standard of delivery should be for EA
Well for crafting for example, the idea of different items giving you different stats is an interesting one, but they need to lean into the degradation of items and make it so you don't just craft one piece of gear and then are done with the tier.
ye im not in denial anymore with games
bad is bad
and thats quite bad at that price range
cards system is coold if works
but thats all about it
We'll have to see what they do with it from here. I think it's got potential to be good.
base building is soooo bad and obsolete
Like Enshrouded has style, love and depth
everything is cohesive
give a look to that game....workbenches have nothing to do with the victorian style...it takes a quick google search to verify
The card system is cool, the crafting idea is cool, the exploration is cool. They just need to stretch it out in a way that works for the genre they're trying to hit. It doesn't nail the feel/draw for exploration like it wants to.
no gingerbread design?
I don't mind starting from crude structures and advancing to more thematic ones, but the timeline to get there has to be right.
is not that the point
they have nothing to do with victorian style
is visive and visible and cannot be denied lol
no 1 piece of base have a quirl or a twist
anyway rant over lol
I don't know... the game is gorgeous, and I like some of the ideas... on paper they're really cool, but as I play through the early access... I feel like I'm working a second job.
Enshrouded has this... idk.. youthful fun to it. There is grind, but every game has grind, the trick of it is to make it fun, and Enshrouded did that really well. I was enthralled by the game, and I didn't feel like my time was being wasted. I felt like I was adequately rewarded for the time I invested, with the exception of stick and feather farming, of course. 😂
While I'm very impressed by the worlds, the interesting take on crafting, and the realm system in Nightingale... it's not... fun.. I feel more frustration than I do elation, and I'm still trying to put my finger on why exactly that is.
The balance of time invested and reward is off, imo, leaving the player feeling like they're on a hamster wheel or just spinning their wheels in place.
Yeah, I think all the missing systems/ui/icons really makes the game feel "not fun"
So much potential... SO MUCH... but it really does feel like a slog once you get past the gorgeous veneer. The more I play, the more I respect what they're trying to do, but dang... it needs some QoL updates badly.
They already delayed a few times. It gets difficult when the business side comes a knockin' says we cannot wait any longer to bring in revenue.
Absolutely. I think it was wise for them to go ahead and move into early access. They really couldn't delay any longer.
And I don't feel like I wasted my money supporting the early access. I just think it's going to need a lot of TLC and QoL updates before its appreciated for the unique take on the survival genre that it provides.
Yeah I think they'll be able to turn it into a great game, it's just going to be a little rough out the gate because you only get one first impression.
I'm cautously optimistic about Nightingale. I really like the aesthetics they're going for but haven't picked it up yet. I'll likely hold off until their always online shenanigans are dealt with and we have more word on weather we'll actually get dedicated server support or not. If we don't get dedicated server support eventually I'll likely end up skipping it.
Their choice to make it an always online, effectively live service game is sure a baffling one.
If it's always online, they can sell you cosmetics
If there are MMO-elements where you could encounter other travelers when exploring the worlds? Then it would be pretty cool and totally make sense.
Like imagine if the realms generated were kind of like Cycle: Frontier maps, where they had a lifetime and people would join and leave as they did their gathering and exploring and stuff. Then you'd cross paths with people all the time and it could be neat.
I just don't want them to have to have a continuous upkeep cost with keeping the multiplayer aspect of the game alive.
Unfortunately, that's true, and it has garnered a very negative impression from a lot of players. The intro really isn't balanced well. They force a kind of sloggy introduction, which is characteristic of many survival games, but just because it has been done a lot doesn't mean it's necessarily a good thing.
I still think one of the smartest balance moves Enshrouded did was provide basic tools early on to make movement and exploration fun. Granting us the ability to craft a basic glider and grappling hook early on made exploration so much more fun than it otherwise would have been.
Hold off a little longer. It has promise, but... it's pretty rough in the Realms right now. 😅
Yeah, enshrouded's basic starting time is pretty good, especially now that they moved the initial magic chests to even earlier instead of needing the carpenter.
Lol I knew that would summon you
I'm definitely holding off at the very least until the offline play option they talked about recently exists but more likely holding off until they either add dedicated server support or say it's never coming. If they say it's never coming I'll probably just skip entirely.
The thing that makes my brain quirk is that right now it doesn't feel like there's any reason to have it all on their hosted servers. Like what's the benefit to the game right now?
They will be adding offline play, they did make an announcement about that.
yeah, I saw that announcement. It's a good start but I'm more interested in self hosting the server
to hear them tell it, it's so they can gather data more easily. Which I guess, sure fine but my cynical brain says it's so they can more easily monetize things down the road.
Yeah, players don't care about that though 😝 They need to sell it to us to make us care. Like if it had any tangible benefit to the players, people wouldn't be nearly as upset about it.
they'd be like "oh I wish I could host my own server or play offline, but at least this way I can experience the realmwalking as intended and it's important that we're all part of a living world."
I've seen some people arguing that only their super special magic servers can handle the realm generation and stuff. But you're right, they def need to sell it to us.
"super special magic servers" bahahahaha You're awesome Liu, ty for the laugh. rofl
Give us server projects, where all players are contributing to wayfinding towards nightingale or something, with unlocks that happen as the servers meet certain goals. Even if it's just a placebo for the most part, it would give us a reason to be online.
TBH, I don't tend to play these types of games by myself but I also don't want to be beholden to them for my online play.
Yeah, but if there was a clear reason for the online play, you'd at least be able to look at it and understand why it's required. Even if your preference runs differently. Right now that just... isn't a thing.
I like options, even if I'm not going to utilize the options, but they need to make sense, and in this case they just don't... at least not yet.
Yeah, that's why it strikes me that so many people are upset and/or waiting
I haven't gotten around to playing Nightingale yet, but sometimes there can be unintuitive reasons for this. For example anti-cheat. Idk everything about that game tbh.
Another frankly very common reason is monetization, as if games are moddable or can be cheesed offline a lot of monetization can fundamentally kinda just... Fall apart. A lot harder to sell expansions or cosmetics or whatever if people can just go offline and hack them into their game client for free.
That being said... I do think this weather system is pretty cool. The first time I was pelted with hail and had to run for cover I literally thought, "OMG, I hope Enshrouded adds weather like this at some point."
Not even sure that's possible, but that is one of the things about Nightingale I do very much enjoy. Though that poison swamp water can suck it. We have The Shroud anyway, which is pretty much the same thing as swamp water but on steroids.
Oh looking online it looks like they're planning to add an offline mode though, so maybe it's just because they wanted to get the main branch stable for release.
That was what their CM said, that it was online only for stability and troubleshooting reasons.
I hope that's actually the reason and it's not a monetization thing. I prefer games without crazy cash shops.
(Mostly because I have no self control and I will buy that stupid fluffy lion of doom.) 😂 🤣
Wouldn't entirely be an excuse, that does make sense. Especially if they had tight deadlines (which, given their many delays, they probably did).
Yeah, I'm a little less concerned about potential cash shop/monetization things since it looks like they are planning on adding an offline mode.
https://youtu.be/piDLsKXvcKg?si=XWMNj4uriF2zz-EU&t=172 also found this from a year ago, so looks like their intention was to circumvent the issue this genre tends to have of players needing to figure out server hosting, by just having that hosting baked into the base game.
So yeah looks like they didn't necessarily have bad intentions.
We're back with another Developer Update where we answer some long-standing community requests.
Wishlist Nightingale on Steam and Epic Games Store today:

And honestly that's not the worst idea, launch issues kinda created problems for them though. But it is a big issue in this genre, a lot of players unfamiliar with survival games get very confused with things like dedicated server hosting.
I'm just worried that if they're the only option for hosting how do they keep up with that cost without some form of recurring income from people utilizing it?
Not that unusual actually, plenty of coop games that are purely hosted by the developers and do just fine. Main difference is scale. Server hosting tends to become a lot more feasible the bigger a project is, if that makes sense.
If you can afford the engineers and infrastructure to support the servers for your game it's generally more profitable than relying on player hosted dedi servers. Simply because you're opening your game up to a much more casual and widespread audience (more potential $$$)
For example helldivers 2, destiny, warframe, ARPGs, mmos, etc.
And I think their studio is fairly big? At least google tells me they're 150ish employees
That's fair I suppose. I'm not a developer and don't work in that industry/scene so that makes sense.
A lot of those games you mentioned do have cash shops though which I don't really want in my survival/crafting adventure game personally.
Yeah I mean that's usually the nature of a lot of bigger studio projects these days. No clue what Nightingale is planning, but it wouldn't be outside the norm if they did that.
I feel like that old man yells at cloud meme these days
It honestly never even occurred to me that a cash shop would be in Nightingale. I don't believe they have said anything about cash shops, though, with how The Watch is laid out, there is vendor space for it, but I guess I just assumed those clearly vacant vendor spots would be for future content.
You've given me something to ponder!
It was a combination of things that made me think of it. Their always online setup with only their servers available, their relationship with tencent combined with a recent interview the CEO did with Rock Paper Shotgun that I may have interpreted poorly where the CEO kept bringing up GTA V and Fortnite. Discussion about the article here: #other-games message
Single player games ftw, as far as im concerned.
(Or otherwise having it an option without engaging in online, mtx, economy, trolls) ^^
:winces:
Maaaaaaan. I hope it's just a coincidence. lol I don't want a Conan Exiles repeat. 😂 They monetized and the official servers became a lag fest, and the bugs are so bad now I stopped playing. >.<
But I like to play with my friends, Ellis!!!! 😂 🤣
As a developer I don't really interpret his fortnite/gta stuff that way. Sounds like he's describing the very really effect those kind of games have had on the market, in the sense that they have become people's "only" games in a sense.
The mega successful live service games like those have an ability to pull players into them, and never let them go for literally years. In particular this has made it almost impossible for certain genres of game to be successful these days, main ones being MMORPGs and competitive FPS games. The existing giants in those genres are so well established that there is effectively no room for anyone else, so all those projects are very consistently dying quick deaths.
Idk if I agree with him that it has such a big impact on the entire industry though. I don't really see how the success of Fortnite or GTA has much noticable impact on a survival game tbh.
That's totally fair and likely a better interpretation than mine was. I've only ever gotten sucked into one live service game and I did end up putting like 2700 hours (and a lot of $$$$) into it over the course of about a year but it completely burned me out of those types of games/experiences to where I'm pretty gun shy about it these days.
GTA is terrible, I don't really understand how that's so wildly popular... now Red Dead Online... THAT was fun, but they dropped it like a hot potato.

"Shark cards" were insanely profitable, which funded the development of a massive amount of consistent updates, which encouraged people to buy more "shark cards"
And thus Rockstar discovered an infinite money glitch
rosebud
I love how you coined it an "infinite money glitch." 😂
They're not wrong
I mean when a single game makes over 8 billion dollars it might as well be lol
Not at all wrong, and that's what makes it so dang funny.
Providing your players with the service you promised them encourages them to spend money to continue to receive that service? 🤔 Seems sus
When do you milk them for all they're worth and make them hate you?
That's the thing, you can do both of those things and still get all their money (from what I've seen at least)
once you get big enough
Well considering the shark cards were effectively just progression skips (buy in-game cash for real life cash), it quickly incentivized them to make comically long grinds. To the point where if you weren't buying them you'd be spending hundreds of hours grinding the same missions over and over to get like... A car that flies or whatever.
Was basically just mobile game monetization tbh but people loved the game so much they got away with it
Well, as far as I'm aware, that sort of progression skip also didn't negatively impact other players, which is important
"Making comically long grinds" = impacting the other players
Idk, if we're still talking about GTA, my entire GTA experience was a negative impact. Either other players were negatively impacting me or I was negatively impacting them while enacting vengeance. 😂 🤣
(I know that's not REALLY what you were talking about, but that popped into my head anyway lol.)
Was the real money a negative impact, or just the style of the game?
I feel like as long as you can separate those things, it can still be good 🤷♀️
Before they had any anti-cheat when the game first released on PC I may or may not have just modded myself near infinite sums of money so the shark cards had no power over me
Allegedly
As a woman, ive a hard time with boys-club rockstar games to be honest.
Vice city was my last gta
I've never been interested in GTA in general. I played some of one of them iirc. I did play saints row 3 though
To be fair, I would say gameplay. I mean, they gunned me down unprovoked with their monetized fancy weapons, but I think it would have happened regardless of whether they had confetti shooting bazookas of doom (exaggeration) or just a normal potato gun. 😂
Yeah thats the thing. If the real money isn't a driver of negative impact on other players, then it's likely not going to upset too many people.
Red Dead Online was really good... and I don't even like Westerns.
My GTA experience is also pretty limited though, so I don't know for sure.
It's pseudo pay to win, and it did encourage them to make a lot of their stuff intentionally tedious/grindy (less fun). But yeah it overall wasn't like, horribly despised or anything.
yeah I feel like pay-to-progress is generally fine by the general community as long as it isn't a thing right out the gate. Like 1-2 years down the line? No one is gonna chomp that too hard usually.
Well Gta V does have a fair bit of pvp to it, though it seems like these days most players play it for the coop modes
Idk Toast, my red headed street walker didn't even make it a block from her house before she was gunned downed. 😂 I ended up refunding because I couldn't make it to the quest npc. Maybe my leopard print top offended them? 🤷♀️
Although, I was able to outwit one guy who had terrible aim by climbing a building, losing the heck out of him via corners, jumping down into the street near his car, and stealing it so I could get away. (I was new, so I couldn't figure out how to summon my own car, so I just stole his to get away. lol)
That was the only fun part, though. The rest of it was players just shooting it out in the street like thugs. Which was kind of amusing if you were in spectator, I will admit, but not what I was personally looking for.
Yeah, people in online PvP games are gremlins of the highest order.
im thinking about buying helldivers 2, looks like a pretty good
I'll probably pick it up at some point. Need to do more research on the anticheat they chose to use.
If you don't take issue with any other anti-cheats like battleye or EAC, then it's fine. It's the same as all the others effectively.
And in general the security risk of anti-cheats is severely blown out of proportion by people that frankly don't know what they're talking about, speaking as someone who used to work on anti-cheat. Kernel access is not required to do the things people are scared of, most softwares on your PC are capable of the same security risks.
But yeah it's not an always on anti-cheat or anything. It's a standard kernel level anticheat that runs while the game is open, I don't know as much about it as I do BE/EAC but from what I can tell it works in functionally the exact same way.
I just remember hearing in passing about some nprotect/gameguard issue that happened previously that I wanted to research more.
Most of the complaints I can find about it that have sources attached seem to be from a decade ago or more so I agree that it's likely blown way out of proportion
I just wanted to do more research since I saw people talking about it
Yeah I did too, but investigating I didn't find anything even remotely out of the ordinary. It's historically not been on games that had a lot of success cheaters wise, however that's not always due to the anti-cheat. There's a lot more than goes into anti-cheat behind the scenes besides just what software you slap onto your game.
Tbh most of the complaints I've heard have just been the usual "kernel level bad" things that you hear about every anti-cheat, which to be blunt mostly stems from ignorance of how these softwares actually work, or how software in general works. If you're worried about things like your data, privacy, etc etc. Well any ol software that runs and monitors can have those some risks. It doesn't need to be anti-cheat and it doesn't need to be kernel level for those to be security concerns.
Yeah, I wasn't really stressed about the kennel level stuff more so what I'd heard about being compromised and a CVE that ended up being from like 2005 or so
It did yeah, in 2005 from what I can tell https://www.cvedetails.com/cve/CVE-2005-0295/
Though this can kinda happen with any software, and tbh the only reason people dug this up was probably because "anti-cheat bad", and then they dug deep to find info to validate that belief, even though the exploit has long since been fixed.
Not that this wasn't bad, it's just not specific to anti-cheat in any way and was 2 decades ago.
The worst legitimate criticisms I've heard of it is that it's ineffective, and I guess we'll have to wait and see if that ones true. I can't really find evidence though that this poses any kind of unique security risk to people's PCs, especially since it only runs while the game is open.
CVE-2005-0295 : npptnt2.sys in nProtect Gameguard provides unrestricted I/O to any process that calls it, which allows local users to gain privileges.
I'm always inherently skeptical of any of these internet freakouts though, because I've heard literally every single anti-cheat on the market get called "rootkits" "spyware" "viruses" "massive security risks" etc etc. And there's often not much to back that up that wouldn't be true of... Basically any other .exe on someone's computer.
Wrath: Aeon of Ruin launches to full tomorrow. Looks like it'll be good from what I've seen.
oh yeah, sorry I didn't mean to imply the CVE was still an issue. More so meant that something from nearly 20 years ago isn't a concern. I tend to try and do my own research when I see people freaking out about things online.
looks cool! Not really the type of game I go for these days but looks like they've got something solid there
Spin the Wheel to find a Steam Game to Play!, wheelhaus, funhaus, steam roulette, roulette wheel

I hope its a trilogy and finishes up in 4 years
I don't know if I can wait 8 more years for a conclusion

I wish they made a real remake of ff vii, instead of a game that doesnt feel like a final fantasy rpg and more like a fancy flashy button mashie =/
calling it flashy button mash sure is a surface level take

Ty! I appreciate the link!!!
You’re welcome!
I wouldn't trust it either way. 0 downside of resetting your password. Most companies I work with won't tell you they have been breached unless forced.
We'll get a message in 6 months like "oh, it turns out we were breached. Sorry guys"
I second this
Core Keeper is good stuff.
Yeah it's well worth the price
Soon™
steam and GoG are superior and have more players anyway lol
I use them for the free games
true I used to as well
yeah, EGS is awesome
free games are nice
and they are decent ones.. i used to sell accounts when it first came out
Do companies get in trouble for telling you they haven't been breached or are there loopholes around that?
i feel like they wouldn't have said anything if they did versus saying, "No we didn't"
Literally no consequences.
I have companies tell me they haven't been breached then a week later they send a notice saying sorry we didn't know at that time. Lol
oh thats dumb lmao
i feel like there should be consequences to telling people the opposite haha
especially stuff with money involved
Prolly hard to prove, they could claim theyre blind and stupid and didnt know i guess, thoughts hard to make into evidence =/
TES 6? mmm unlikely soon. helps me get over tes in general knowing assiasn creed / witcher make better open world gamewas
Maybe they're talking in geological time. Then it might be soon
Hunt is good, it's pretty hard to get good at though
Which genres do you enjoy? 🙂
survival definitely. also loooooove open world games with a passion
Hmmm I would have suggested mostly story games
Maybe other peeps can recommend some to you
nah, new skyrim modpack I'm making.
might put it on wabbajack
Ouuu nice. That or do like volus. A lot of mod packs minus requiem ones do little balancing so i get bored after like 2 hours... Granted not fault of the mod authors. I've tried them all 'Share a link when ready so i can give yours a try
damnn
sure, not sure when'll be done tho, hence the SoonTM lol
no worries. ill find it one or another via youtube spotlights even if i forgot about it. good luck!
thanks, might not be a public release tho, everything is still in the planning phases when it comes to Wabbajack. Modpack is about 80% done with 706 mods
I’m sorry
Does it use Skyrim together?
no, it doesn't
it is a singleplayer pack
got more pics coming soon...
ngl might check out hunt showdown and rimworld
Elden ring good?
I've never played it but I love watching people play it on YouTube lol
a "fun" fromsoftware game
Its frustrating, but you will get better over time
Okay I try beat game Saturday
Terminator open world survival game is expected to be shown off
https://www.youtube.com/live/hAu0L3LZ-1Q?si=J-3l7VSd9sqmHOmX
The Nacon Connect livestream will take place on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 10:00am PT / 1:00pm ET and will run for 30 minutes. Viewers can expect brand new videos ...
Elden ring is an eerie, cozy spooky world.
alot to explore and find, slow chill travel but intense sudden combat moments.
i love playing it alone, in dark, slowly trying to get stronger in an harsh impressively huge world.
Sepiroth the fell angel ^^
Should I buy monster hunter world or Rise?
A catchy yet foreboding song plays throughout this trailer for Terminator: Survivors, as revealed during Nacon Connect 2024. Check out the trailer for this upcoming survival game as we see two characters look for supplies while a dangerous enemy goes on the hunt for them. Terminator: Survivors is headed to Steam Early Access on October 24, 2024....
EGS you say? I don't normally buy their exclusives, but I couldn't resist Alan Wake 2. One of the best damn games I've played in a long time.
I prefer World but either choice is good.
Start with World, then play Rise if you get used to MH as a whole, Rise is more arcady and less hunting and more fighting, World is More Hunting and Tracking for giant lizard to make into armor then repeat that cycle a million times, with probably the best feeling combat I've ever played, but in the end. Make up your own mind, they are both equally great, despite the arguement going on in the community on which is better lol, ignore that and you'll be fine. I prefer World so I'm bias
Missed opportunity with future war
Love Terminator so I'll still try it if the reviews go well
Has anyone tried Nightingale?
I'm having a lot of fun with it - definitely a slow paced game with intricate crafting systems, some of the systems are more obtuse due to some unpolished UI and such. Upgrades feel earned. Definitely a time intensive game, not something you'll pick up and finish fast but if you enjoy savouring the journey of survival crafting & exploration and figuring out mechanics its a good one.
The sound scape is amazing, atmosphere in general is really great, super easy to play with friends and hop into realms together.
Cool, thanks for the reply. I'm just thinking which game to play in my spare time besides Enshrouded.
Either this or Palworld. Have you played the latter?
I liked nightingale more than palworld, definitely.
I did play palworld - obviously vibes and aesthetics are totally different and I much prefer Nightingales personally. Palworld felt like purposefully watching a bad movie with friends to me - fun and silly, but not immersive or compelling.
Mechanics wise it feels a lot more like village/factory management getting your bases set up to auto produce things and be self sustaining with all your pal workers, vs building a base that you do things in. Lots of breeding to optimize your pals.
Your pals are the real combatants, you are just there to do a little extra. Running around picking up shiny things on the map is fun, and collecting new pals is fun and exciting but then also feels a little... too fast maybe? Especially with mounts, you get one, then you get a better one, then you get a better one, and it feels a little disappointing to put a lot of work into a pal just to replace it and do all the work over with the next faster pal. I didn't necessarily wind up getting much feeling of longevity or connection to my pals. There's a bouncy bouncy mount that is just delightful to ride on though.
Base building is palworld is a frustrating joke though, don't expect to do anything more than a simple box. Has lots of decor pieces but none of them do anything and there isn't a cohesive theme to... well to anything in the game really.
Agreed on base building, I personally give palword a straight 8\10 imo
My friends had a lot of fun in palworld, and I think if I liked modern vibes better I would have stuck it out longer. Its a fun silly game with enough depth in the breeding/base optimizing and variety in exploration and pals to keep it fun for quite awhile.
I dont see the variety of explorstion in palworld to be honest?
You can find pals, and a tower, and the same cave?
Been in like 7 caves and they were all the same cave
That's fair, I liked the different views and damn clicking those effigies are addicting XD Again I didn't stick it out super long but my friends had fun with it, one of them just explored all the time
More finding collectsbles i guess
Soon™ - Part 2
We've all migrated to nightingale though, definitely more exploration variety there, puzzles are fun, the immersion and vibes are excellent. It feels harder to describe because there's a lot of subtle things that go into making the whole. Personally it wins hands down over palworld for me, but they also almost feel like 2 separate genres to me.
Thanks for the review, just bought world. Lets the hunt begin
yeah i was looking at that game it looks really good, but combat looked a little weird to me. Might get it in the next few weeks though just to try it out
I didn't last long in Nightingale. It looks beautiful, but a lot of irritations added up quickly, and the combat was dull, so refunded it. A couple cool ideas let down by several issues.
I love both Enshrouded and Nightingale, though they've both got their issues. I think Nightingale has the better combat, but it's hard to enjoy with their server issues. Enshrouded definitely has the better building though.
👍
welcome fellow hunter
something I forgot to mention, DO NOT use defender gear, it is an easy way to get to the Iceborne Expansion, but it ruins the progression of the normal game by making you OP very early
Nah i’d use
Few friends of mine moved from my server to nightingale when i was starting my second build. After about a week their discord activity didnt show nightingale anymore, but other games… now im on my way home to build more on my second enshrouded build. I think true builders dont need new games. We have found our spot 🙂 thanks to some keen people.
I like several of these games of crafting, building, and various levels of survival; Minecraft, Terraria, V Rising, Enshrouded, 7 Days to Die, Core Keeper, and Creativerse, and thought I'd really dig Nightingale, but didn't last 3 hours.
no vahallla..wow
Vahalla? Is that another viking-esque game?
I'm waiting on combat update looks too wonky for me atm
The combat was one of my issues with it
Which of all those games?
I'm enjoying helldivers atm, gonna give enshrouded a play through this week once my buddy buys a copy
this game looks pretty interesting

That does look pretty cool, I like the combo of souls game and anything, so I'm in.
@trim plinth @vagrant abyss
Here is a complex Palworld base. MUCH more than “a simple box”. Takes 4 minutes to tour the whole thing
I mean, someone is always willing to hit their head against a wall for hours on end. The system is incredibly janky (snapping angled roofs in particular is a pain) with very little variation or pieces to support shapes beyond a rectangle. And pals can't handle stairs or doors, so anything asides from an open barn is 100% empty decoration, and even if you try to build a nice inside you never have any reason to go into it and the decor feels pointless and empty - all of it does diddly squat and you can't even sit in a chair. If the building experience was better at least it would make sense for folks who like purely creative decorative building that no one lives in, but the building experience sucks.
I love building in survival games, spent hours and hours and hours doing it in Valheim, been enjoying nightingale's (it lacks the incredible flexibility of a game like valheim or enshrouded, though its ease is welcome and it has variety and subtle pieces), but Palworld just made me want to throw the controller across the room.
Palworld has other redeeming qualities but it barely qualifiers as a base building game, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for its building system.
I know he made a couple minor errors, but: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKwRRlfnixQ&lc=Ugzp_inuwp9nJpK3cIh4AaABAg

This was the exact reason that I didn't give Palworld the time of day. Wasn't worth even testing to see if I'd like it.
yet for a "complex" its still 300 levels below enshrouded building lol. even the devs admitted its bad
The problem you described was already fixed in a patch
Cool can’t wait for them to make it better
I never said palworld building was better than enshrouded. Just want to make sure people have the correct information and aren’t being misled
Was playing some valheim again to take a break from building in enshrouded and nearly shat myself when I saw this trophy I threw there the last time I played the save

Fingers crossed that it's good
I want to like it so badly, but with how horribly Funcom treats their Conan Exiles servers... I have such doubts.

That project is much bigger than just Funcom... Idk if I can say how much bigger, but I think it's publicly known that several studios are working on that game.
idk if that means it will be good or not, insanely ambitious project. But yeah
i like most things that Funcom makes
I like conan exiles. I play it singleplayer as most games tho ^^
It seems like they're trying to go for some sort of persistent MMO survival thing? I hope it's good; Dune is one of my favorite IPs and if they ruin it I'll be sad.
Yeah like mega mmo but survival game, thousands of players on single servers kind of MMO
Insanely ambitious and cool idea, I'm just not sure if the "technology is there yet" so to speak lol
Yeah, the only other mega mmo survival thing that I've seen is Atlas and... oh boy that was a thing.
Hopefully they can look at the choices made there and learn from them
Just got into Skyrim again, and i want to be a sneaky archer ( i know i know, how predictable ). However - i can’t choose between the warriors stone or the thief stone
What would be better?
Warrior Stone improves Bows, and warrior skills. Thief Stone improves Sneak, and thief skills.
So go with whatever you wanna level up the fastest
I’m playing the xbox version of Skyrim special edition.
I'm just saying, that's what the stones do lol
ive played it. Its good, kinda a slow type of game

Fireb0rn on youtube made a video about Steam games being scams. The scam dev can change their studio name and store page to look like another popular game at a discount. People will buy the discounted game but load up something else, and it's the same with steam keys.
wait wait... what?
For example, if you see a popular game listed twice on Steam, one with a discount, it could be a scam. The dev of the discount price changed their game page to match the popular game, so people would pay the discount to buy a different game.
On February 29th, six different games were renamed by a scammer who spoofed their store pages to appear like popular game titles such as HELLDIVERS 2 and Palworld. Many are confused why this happened when the developer couldn't profit off of it from Steam, and the reason is because they probably never intended to do so in the first place. Regard...

Sometimes I forget that not everyone played warframe for 500+ hours like me and all my friends
I really liked Warframe, but I was so terrible at it. 😂It's one of the few games I tried so hard to be "good" at, but I never got there. The community was incredibly helpful, though, which isn't a common thing in a lot of online games. I'm super excited for their next game, Soulframe, which they've already said would have a more slower paced combat. I should be able to keep up with that one! 😂
dont forget...grind 3 days to make it for 7 in your crafter.... then you can use your new weapon/warframe...
Tch....yea. pft......wh...who would do that?
....
In other news i got access to the next closed beta of pax dei
Wonder how it will be, i usually do not like mmos at all, so i hope its as different in that regard as possible
It has building and combat seems to be more action-oriented
It will prolly need ongoing monetization whenever its finished tho, so also dont know how that will be
I'm definitely interested in it. It's got some very cool ideas, but my understanding from the last one is that it has a loooong way to go
It's super easy to spot though the icon is always different and the tags are wrong. Steam has taken all the scams down within a few days and refunded everyone each time it happens. Only real risk is if the fake game is loaded with malware.
I'm hesitant for the same reason. I hope the new closed beta shows a lot of progress because they are aiming at a Spring EA release. https://playpaxdei.com/en-us/news/information/pax-dei-will-enter-early-access-in-spring-this-year
No please. Give yourselves more time. We have too much happening this year already, indie games are going to struggle even if they ARE great
Yeah, will see how it feels.
Ghost of tshumia pc port tomorrow (announced). That there is a goodie

Heyyy I got back into skyrim too two weeks ago! I'm so addicted of late. I modded the ever living shit out of it and it looks beautiful lol. I'm rping a hunter in the woods on 1 character and a bounty hunter on another one.
I noticed how in two weeks time Nexus Mods downloads on skyrim SE jumped from 3,8 bn to 4 bn, so it seems suddenly a lot of people are playing again 😄
checkout wabbajack/novlus/vortext collections(yucky but worth a metnion). they got some good already curated modlist for skyrim
Nah I don't like those, I like building my own
lol fair
i come and go every 3-6 months
It be like that right?
Ah what did you play as, or how did you play it
Yeah for one the beautiful nature/landscaping tbh!

Does your pack include the territorial bull Mammoths btw? From Mikhail Mods. I can totally recommend that one
It's such a vibe to see an angry male Mammoth much larger than the female ones charge into sabre cats and destroy them xD
Hope the rules allow this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/69391 totally recommend it, it brings the tundra to a new level
not sure. I struggle to find a list that is balanced...without being requiem based
so i usually go to witcher 3 to get my needs met
Can't wait. Thanks for the update everyone!
We got some new updates for Dune Awakening, the upcoming Survival Sandbox MMO, and the game is looking pretty good. Let's check it out.
Damn, feels good that Force loves our game so much. He has mentioned it in a lot of videos at this point
I mean, you guys did a good job making a game that is just... fun to play. That's good comparison material
Ya, if he talks about any survival game, Enshrouded will be mentioned. He really likes the game.
I feel like it's pretty rare that his "I played X hours of this game" videos end with "Okay now I'm going to go restart and do a new playthrough."
He loves a lot of games but yeah he seemed to really love our game
One of the things I like about his videos is his general optimism/excitement for games
He speaks humbly. The charisma and genuinity(?) is nice to see the truth in his reviews.
I've worked closely with him on previous projects, great guy tbh. One of the few "big" creators I can tell still genuinely loves playing games

Nice, peeps were asking me, (and I mentioned) that I might add my list to wabbajack, buuuut It's more catered to what I like so probably not lol, but I'm currently playtesting as a Breton Battlemage, seeing what needs fixing and what needs balance. so far tho I'm having more fun then I've ever had with my 1200 odd hours with skyrim, Making a list takes up more time then playing the game, so I'm adding like 1-2 mods now instead of 80-90 at a time like I used to.
lol I played Starfield for a bit and it was disappointing and made me miss Skyrim. So I uninstalled Starfield and have been playing Skyrim lately! 😄
Maybe they'll make it so you can play skyrim inside starfield and give people yet another place to buy skyrim.
No mammoth's bug me xD
Starfield made me miss skyrim the whole time i played it lol
I don't know if I'm allowed to do this, Mods lemme know pls. To those you play Warframe, I want to sell a Hildryn Prime Set for 65plat, DM me if interested.
Oh God that game went so downhill. It used to be a blast and f2p friendly. I even ended up spending hundreds because it was so fun. Now the game just sucks 😦 I miss season 1-3.
Starfield made me glad I didn’t buy Starfield
got gameplay footage of my pack if your interested.

anyone play any For Honor lately? It's been 2 years since last I played.
Nice! I grinded to legend seasons 1-5 then quit
hey guys whats the current max comfort in Valheim?
Somewhere around 18-20 I think?
Been a minute since I last played too. Love the mechanics but not the gameplay so much. Kinda wisht there was a survival-craft game with the same kind of combat mechanics.
Aska or light no fire is only ones that stand a chance... Both probably need mods to get close... But ones ones that stand a chance of such mechanics
New update got me back and it's pretty fun.
@wanton hare soo where to begin. ngithingale is pretty much over complicated just for reasons that lose me. encourges playign with friends. but limits building and build sizes... so yea... it really dont know what it wants.
@wanton hare as for abiotic factor. its gordan freeman scientists mixed with scp fondation. mixed with survival games. AND SCIENCE
Yeah, I think Nightingale has a good game in there, it's just got a ways to go before it really realizes its potential.
i dont feel like it will... their focuses are just... not good
I tend to try to stay optimistic about that sort of thing, it doesn't really cost me anything and I do truly enjoy the setting and some of the ideas for the game.
Like I think there are some issues with the way they do their realm cards, the idea of the realm cards is really cool.
All they need to do is review how the realm cards work and make some improvements that make it clearer/cleaner to use.
Soooooo... I want another survival/crafting open world game to play. Found that I love the genre. Obsessively played Nightingale on top of Enshrouded. Did a bit of Subnautica. Trying to figure out something to scratch the itch.
Valheim is good. Conan Exiles is pretty decent. Ark is good if you can handle the jank. Minecraft is the classic
A couple lesser known ones are Wayard, or Ylands
Icarus is also good
Have Exiles. Valheim's also kinda interesting. I do like having a narrative though. It's one of the reasons I enjoyed enshrouded and Nightingale (though Enshrouded is so much more polished).
You might like Icarus then. Most of the others I listed don't really have a narrative. Icarus is more mission-based roguelike survival, but the missions all have a story to them as you progress through it.
I think The Long Dark has a good story, but I haven't played it so I can't vouch for it's quality
Raft also has a clear story/progression, but I haven't played that either.
Have you tried Sons of the Forest? It's the most fun (imo) in co-op with friends. The narrative is actually really interesting, and they just did their 1.0 launch so the game is officially out.
Ah yeah, that's a really commonly praised on. I've never gone for it because I'm not a huge horror fan
Icarus, haven't even heard of that!
It's pretty interesting, I like some of their ideas a lot
Well, got a few to peek at. I've heard the Long Dark has a good story, but that it never actually got finished.
I played The Long Dark early on, but I haven't played since they added new content. I did like that one too. Liked a lot of the other ones Zerax mentioned also. All good games.
I'm also not a horror fan, but Sons of the Forest was one of those games that while occasionally horrifying, it wasn't non stop horror, and the story really was interesting. So many subtle clues hanging around the environments for players who like piecing together a good mystery with a dash of horror and sci-fi. That game melded a lot of genres, surprisingly.
Hmm... definitely more than a few to peek at then. I think I'll go with Icarus first though
Our rivers of blood will flood out the automatons.

abiotic factor will hit you perfectly trust me,. every demo for that game has been amazing. and it drops in may
missions now bleed into each other. you can do alll missions from open world. so no more resetting every mission. you can build perma bases and still do story
dont get raft. its over hyped, stupidly short game
icarus first cohort is solid. devs are very active. as in weekly updates. and often pop into their own discord. very chill guys. def deserve love for their game
Yeah, I haven't played it since they did this update. I feel like this is a massive upgrade to the game and I'm looking forward to checking it out sometime in the future.
o its huge. makes it so much more immersive. the story and whats actually going on is crazy
This sounds REALLY awesome. I feel weird asking about other games on a discord for one, but... When it comes to enshrouded, I've got at least a few others on my steam list I want to get the game for. And if they release any DLC post release, I'll be getting it. The game really is pure fun. Though... melee needs work and wanding is too easy. I LOVE blink-dodging though.
There are definite combat improvements to be made, but for an EA release I feel like Enshrouded is top notch.
but no if you enjoy this check out videos of abitioc factor. game is great. devs are silly. its litterly half life + scp + survival. all while traped miles below ground.
best building ever in a game. i will stand on this hill all day
We're all there with you. It's not even close.
minecraft i think matches it partially cuz minecraft. but i mean. this game matches THE OG building game. thats huge
Oh yeah, of all the EA releases I've ever done, the only one that's been as good as Enshrouded was Grim Dawn so very long ago.
so honest opinion, my abiotic demo playthroughs ( iv done 3) all match enshrouded for how well they run and work
I dunno, I don't feel like minecraft lives up just because the voxel system for this is so nice. The voxel blending making edges look good. The ability to build multiple voxels at once. Voxel logic to create things like roofs. General graphics comparison (not counting minecraft shaders/mods/etc because I don't feel like those count)
its why abiotic is on my wish list i cant wait
minecraft is voxel... its liutterly one of the first and biggfest voxel lol
Minecraft is great, don't get me wrong. I just feel like Enshrouded is a big step forward in voxel builders.
Yeah, I'm not saying it's not voxels, I'm just saying that by comparison it's a lot more primitive.
also have you ever seen mc with shader mods? its so dam good
its also the grandfather of voxel games. so i means its def old
Yeah, I mean it's about time someone came along and made a better voxel system. Minecraft definitely can look good with shaders, but it never really loses the giant 1M voxel squares which always bothers me.
The way that Enshrouded's voxels blend together to create patterns and edges looks really nice IMO
Oh wow... Abiotic seems to have a genuinely different feel to it. Very different setting than any other I've seen.
best building, in a survival game - not all games imo; tho thats wide and its not even a fair comparison ^^

it kinda feels like.. half-life'esque but with survival and crafting and stuff ^^

This is why i say its not fair to compare it to any game
Above video is from (a game), but since its not a survival/action/story game the building is completely freeform. Tower Unite is included in "any game", but its veeery different within a context of a survival map, or a game with a dedicated full free build mode. Not a fair comparison ofc, so a qualifier is needed ^^
Enshrouded has an amazing build mode, among survival adventure games.
I repeat BEST BUILDING IN A GAME I PLAYED. Sheesh, even with context. And anyways in survival game nutshell it still wins.
Grounded! Such an original setting and the game is great.

NGL I backed this Kickstarter game a few years ago that was an RPG but because it's a small indie studio with a big dream, they made it into a survival crafting game and it even has a similar area to our Shroud but it's poisonous, and the moment Enshrouded dropped, the game development went completely radio silent and I assumed they abandoned it because Enshrouded came out of nowhere and did it better
Apparently it's not true, I'm somehow friends with the lead developer on discord and apparently he's going through a lot of life stuff so

Carbot is amazing, their content is awesome
I have a feeling that we'll see this sort of thing happening, but there is a growing movement of 'player focused development' that I think we're seeing and I have a feeling the games that are become most popular in the future are the ones that respect players time and don't include crap like the loot box situation that Nexon set up.
I dont' know who recommended Grounded, but holy CRAP. That's just hwat I needed. I enjoyed Icarus too, but still!
Yeah, Grounded is a great one. I haven't checked in on it in quite a while, but it was good when I first looked at it
I enjoyed Grounded. I think the only thing that made me grumble unhappily was you couldn't create your own character, but I got over it. 😂
AI War 2 is simpler than the 1st game in some ways, but not in others: XD
loved about 2/3rds of grounded, which was more than enough for the price tag 🙂
I like having a targeted goal.
Why do you need to create a character when we have Pete???? Pete is all I need.
dragons dogma 2 needs to hurry up
why do i just find out about a legendary release just days away

bruh... is there a TL:DR version?
lol
DD2 being the legendary release? Its been getting pretty hyped up for months now lmao
If you haven't downloaded it yet.. the character creator is out
There have been a lot of funny ones made
so ive never really been into these kinda games which is why its flown over my radar 😭 sm1 showed it to me in a vc and now im like hooked
but thanks i might try the character creator out rn
I wonder how firebrick is produced? I couldn't find any guides in English or my own language. help me please
Fired Bricks are crafted at the Kiln, using Clay. Clay only becomes available when you begin exploring the Revelwood area of the map. The Kiln also requires the Carpenter to build, which means you need to complete the Carpenter's vault before getting access to the various crafting recipes.
Oh man thank you so much.
Where can I find this material?
You might want to ask your enshrouded-related questions in a game-focused channel like #enshrouded-chat or #spoilers-ahead. This channel is for discussing other games.
you can download the character creation portion of the game. i messed around with
@tranquil cove Helldivers do be like that though.
helldivers is rough, the new patriot mech they introduced
just blew up in my face no reason
LOL and it said i was killed by my own mech
Yeah, I think explosions don't count as a specific thing. I've been killed by seemingly random explosions sometimes.
The mechs are BAD vs the automatons, those rocket dudes just blow up your mech instantly.
I like that you have to choose your loadout based on the mission/enemy though. Makes it more engaging to have a lot of stuff unlocked.
the worst is the crashing, i still crash out of 1 of every 5 missions it seems like, and sometimes 2 missions in a row
Ah I've never had that problem thankfully. Worst I've seen is my teammates disconnect from the current mission and you have to finish it solo
The mechs feel so good though, I'm hoping we get a bike or something to traverse the map quickly
lol and now network conn lost
The mechs are awesome
There’s a known issue where if you’re turning and shooting a missile there’s a chance it clips the mech and explodes lol
That's amazing
Also, I love the detail that you can see the missile pods as you fire them. All the little details in the game are great.
Yeah, I'm a little sad I waited a couple weeks to pick it up
coop teamkiller
i die more to tk than anything else
mortar is like atrocious, hands down the worst sentry unless it's the ems mortar in which case that one is really good
lol
Happened to me a number of times. Usually when I go down to lower levels to help newer players out. They see my gear and think “mine!”
oh even accidental tks
All they’d have to do is ask and I’d happily call in some gear for them
do you know what counts as team kill in the stats? is it accidentals?
Oh yeah, all the time. I wince if I see 380 bombardment stratagems
because that seems to never be accurate at all
Yeah, I believe it’s accidentals
they should just remove the armor bonus that gives throwing range
and apply that throwing range as standard throwing range for everyone
TK's will go down 90%
and then give those armors a different bonus lol
Luckily, most of the time by levels 7-9 most people know how and when to use the right call ins
like these are super soldiers of the future? and i can throw better than them irl
or i wish throwing range was something we could skill into
along with stealth
like i don't really think it should be 100% item dependent
The main issue is most of the time, at least in random lobbies, people aren’t communicating. Thats when issues tend to occur. Although, there are those no comms matches where everyone just knows what to do and synergizes perfectly seemingly for no reason. Those are nice but not too common
anybody know how to get the discord activity status to show up again?
For what? Is it a new game that you started playing and want to have it show up as an activity?
If that is the case, you may need to manually add the game under 'Settings > Registered Games' on Discord.
yea... nobody showing any activity statuses... it's enabled on my end.
for ex. if you set a custom status, or play a game, I can not see your status on either. I think it's a discord thing that started recently.
Casually interested in this, drops sometime in the next day:

Oh, we've had some hilarious TKs. 😄
threw strategem, bug jumped up at same time hit strategem in mid air and knocked it back toward me, strategem went off and killed me lol
bugs getting smarter
game freeze every other game lol
Spawned in, getting weapon drops going. Dude calls down an airstrike and kills all of us.
I have heard this happens when firing rockets if it collides with something close to you
the mechs are very weak in terms of taking damage
There's definitely a bug where it'll just blow up inside the mech when it tries to launch
I've had it happen a couple times
i learned that you can actually take a charger ramming you if you move to the side
and have it hit your side versus the front
ah... I haven't had that happen to me at all
wonder if its a latency thing
Yeah possibly
just like the latency with bile titans taking more damage than normal
Mortars are really good wdym?????
they are really good aggro pullers when you need to make space between you and the enemy.. smokes are also really good
Also... better late than never haha.. I been trying to tell people how good this game is in this channel since it came out! <.<
mortar just kills you despite no enemy nearby
so do i want a niche situation sentry gun
or one where my chances of being killed are basically zero
thus mortar EMS strike superior, and i've yet to die ever from anything else beside mortar
even the rocket turret is btter
ive died from mortar when there were like.. i dunno whats a good length relationship in this game?
lets say the length of 3 bile titans between me and enemy
how the flip do you miss so bad mortar, that you blow me up instead
no it doesn't
what can happen is that there is an enemy nearby that you killed and the mortar aimed and shooting at said destination
i've been closer to mortar than to enemy and it blew me up
since i always play sniper
it doesnt happen often
died like a handful of times this way
but when it happens its annoying asf
i have yet to be killed by a mortar the way you said
interesting though.. im going to go test it
maybe because you deploy it between you and enemy and run other way, and the other way has no enemy
which is like retreating deployment its the best use for it
basically
i have thrown it behind me offensively and behind the enemy defensively
in about 110 hours of game time, I haven't had that happen to me
only time i have been killed by mortars are if an enemy is like 10-15 feet from me
games so glitchy i don't even know anymore, lol i only have 30 hours playtime, but it's only happened like 5 times
or they are lower terrain and im on a hill and the arc hits the edge of the hill that im peeking over.. which is completely my fault XD
I find it really useful when playing on diffs 8 and 9
with how crazy spawns have been it pulls mobs away well so you can focus on heavies easier
We can adv here deferent games ?
advertise, maaayyybeeee? if your selling a game prob not, if your just sharing a link, yea
I've found a good number of games on the chats here that i would have not otherwise
Anyone else tried Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon? It's in early access, so it's not done, but it's giving me strong Elder Scroll vibes in all the right ways. I'm a sucker for a good twist on the standard Arthurian Legend, too, so the setting of Avalon is a huge plus for me. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1466060/Tainted_Grail_The_Fall_of_Avalon/
Important information to consider before purchasing this game in Early Access:> There is a possibility that your saved data may become corrupted due to large patches and version changes.> This game does not aim to have AAA-level graphics or polish.> You might encounter various small bugs, balance issues, and a lack of final polish.> This game is...

I played it back when they were doing the roguelike deckbuilder thing. One of the content creators I follow did a review of the early access for it and it looked VERY elder-scrollsy
i decided if anyone dies in helldivers 2, i will take all their equipment 😄
because that one guy tked me when i took his shield pack after he died
and the fact is if anyone took anything of "mine" after i died i wouldn't care, 1) it's no longer my stuff when i die, 2) i'd be happy my team mate has a shield pack, and i can summon one later for myself. lol
If I kill them, i won't take their stuff, I'll try and reinforce them as close to it as they can
it's the polite thing to do
they died on their own
and i didn't know the guy was coming back for his stuff
i thought he left it there
polite thing to do is ask for the stuff back minimally before you resort to a team kill
the guy just walked up beside me and shot me in the head
and there's no way i team killed them, i just spawned into the game
which is why i didn't care as much about team killing him back since i have no time sunk into that mission
the game just awarded me 150 medals though from major orders completed 5 days ago
Very nice, I'll have to log in and see if I've got those
Toxic
Taking primary is fine but anything else is a no go
i don't see that in the helldivers playbook, once someone dies you can loot all their equipment for democracy
i think it's more toxic to have ownership over imagined items in a game, that you can most likely recall anyway because the timer refreshed
Unwritten rules of not being an ass XD
but then again i support communism
wont bother me if you ever see me loot my stuff if i die accidentally or to bugs
Thats you
yeah because i'm not toxic
?????
that's the point, i'm happy whenever someone gets a shield as a benefit of me dying for example
they died, it's no longer theirs
otherwise we should make samples/rare apply individually also
Some insane logic there
No. Samples are shared regardless of who picks it up when you extract with them
Not even close to the same
i borrowed their stuff to survive better as a team, there is no stealing in a team game
play solo
So dumb
if they are dead and i'm alone, and we need to extract and there is 4 respawns left, you mean i shouldnt take someone's shield on the ground, to help me clutch and summon my team again and we all extract? what if that shield was the difference between extracting and not. or is "stealing" now okay depending on the situation?
You can pick it up and drop it to give it back after they are reinforced
so i can pick it up and drop it in any other situation too if they want it
i never said i wouldn't drop things if people asked
The right thing to do vs you died so its mine now
i just said im gonna take whatever i need from a dead soldier
You said you didn't know he was coming back to get his stuff. You could have just comm'd and found out
nah i was 100% right in that situation
he wanted the stuff he could have told me
rather than team kill
Okay guys, this is going more towards argument area. Please take it to DMs and move on to other conversations
You even wrote, "its no longer my stuff after I died." Which isn't even true lmao
I agree. He could have said something but etiquette is to reinforce them over their stuff if its clear like Zerax stated
Did they say something?
no, but getting ready!
/Nice. added to my watchlist. However no 3rd person so idc for playing it until then
Yeah, that's the only negative so far for me. I do like third person being an option, as I normally prefer to play that way! It looks like the devs said it is something they want to add, but who knows how long that will take.
I played my first 3 hours today, and I really liked it. I about laughed myself out of my chair when I found a romance novel called "Beautiful Liliana and the Chamber of Ecstasy" complete with super cheezy writing and one of the guards (I'm assuming the owner of the book) had drawn his own "fan art" of Liliana (it was horrible fan art btw ROFL) and had it plastered on the wall in his sleeping area. I'm still cracking up, it was so ridiculous and unexpected. 😂
looks like skyrim remade in 2020.....im not sure im sold completly...but then again...skyrim released in 2020 i'd buy so lol
Game has all sorts of books sort of like Elder Scrolls games do, but most of them are informative and very practical in what they teach the player. So stumbling upon that one, was kind of like finding The Lusty Argonian Maid in Tamriel. rofl
how simliar are you finding it? is it better than modded skyrim? looks comparable
No harm in waiting, that's for sure! I'm just filling the time until Enshrouded gives us more goodies. 😄 lol
Well it's a totally different team and theme. If you like skyrim but also arthurian legend, you'll probably like it
I don't think it's better than modded Skyrim, because Skyrim just has SO MANY MODS. Hard for an early access game to compete with that.
It's very Skyrim-ish with its systems, though, so it's easy to fall into and feels familiar but different all at the same time.
I would only play it instead of Skyrim if you are looking for a game like Skyrim, but want a fresh narrative and a new world. (Which is what I was looking for). The narrative is good, the world is interesting, and the npcs have decent dialogue, especially the fae merchant I came across, he was adorable and my favorite merchant to go to. LOL
I'm serious when I say favorite merchant, I literally run across half the map to go sell to him instead. He makes me laugh with his dialogue.
Hmm I am interested. I'll wait till 3rd person. dragon dogma will hopefully fill the void skyrim left
I hope the same. Looking forward to DD2
Yeah, DD2 looks real good
they do but the problem is that it's skyrim engine
I want skyrim but not on skyrim's engine lol
thats the problem with every game 😄
witcher 3 and elden ring made me think skyrim can be made much better
their engine is already obsolete 2 months after release imo
off the character creation alone i'm hyped!!. espeically since gta5 was thier inspiration. open world is going to feel good
I hope so
GTA but high fantasy is a pretty good pitch
it was funny because the game house flipper experienced engine out of date first hand, they released, people demanded to be able to do 20 things the engine can't do, they decided to work on house flipper 2. lol
I hope they don't lock content off like the first game if you missed things
They will, some reviewers have already talked about failing some quests because they prioritized other quests. ||they had a quest to rescue someone, but they did other quests and ignored it for some amount of time, but when they went to rescue the person, they were dead||
Eh, I see it as more of a nice "living world" feel. I don't like it when time stands still except for what I do.
I'm going in blind for this one
how moddable was dragon dogma? prob something mods can fix
Give me more reason to do multiple playthroughs.
I aassume it's moddable since it's largely just a single player game, but IDK. The pawn system and pseudo-multiplayer might make it hard.
Yeah. I am not a multiple playthrough type of gamer
If I revisit a game it will be years later lmao
That's fair
But I can see how its a nice feature for those who like doing it
I will sit and do all the side quests for a game before moving on in most games... doing that right now in FF7
There is so much content compared to FF16 x.x
Going strong since 1987 lmao
Thats just the mainline series. There are tons of side games as well
even if dragon dogma flops...rise of ronain should hold us together. next week is going to be nice
Dragon's Dogma 1 was a cult classic, so there's already a pretty sizeable audience for DD2
Unless they totally bork the whole thing (but it doesn't look like they have from gameplay I've seen)
the first is $5 and released 8 years ago...hmmmaybe i should give it a try
i can't wait for weeb games to die
The first one is fun, but it definitely feels it's age at this point. When it came out, there weren't a ton of action games with really solid combat, everyone was kinda doing their own thing. Now we've had a decade of constant Dark Souls games and the action combat genre has some pretty deepseated roots.
Things that worry me... no demo for it which Capcom games usually have... also no collectors edition
There's a digital collectors edition, I know it's not the same but I feel like we see fewer and fewer physical collectibles
Can you link it? I only see a deluxe edition
Delux edition = collectors edition?
No. Thats a deluxe Xd
🤷♀️ They mean mostly the same thing, maybe just to me though
Capcom usually does collectors on games they know will be a hit
SF6, MHR, MHW, RE4R all have them
Just a thing that makes me wary... doesn't mean the game will be good or bad but to me feels like they don't have confidence in it
Fair. DD2 doesn't have a long history like most of those games htough
It's only the second game in the series, and the first one didn't sell super well at launch if I recall correctly
It just gained cult classic status over time
Yeah, so if DD2 is a hit, maybe we'll see a collectors edition for DD3
The bigger thing is no demo
I'm not too worried about it, demos take a surprising amount of dev time and AAA games rarely get enough time to finsh as it is
Well clearly demos aren't that good of a determiner of success expectations 😝
Goblin Stone, Goblin Stone, Goblin Stone!
Lmao. Truuuuue
I really liked the attention to detail on their character creator.
I can't think of another game that allowed you to customize the amount of teeth and if it wasn't a full set... which exact ones are missing
Sadly my 3080 only has 8 gigs so it already gave me a warning when I launched the game
I'm trying to hold off until the new Nvidia cards drop to upgrade z.z
Ahaha. I really like the Shaggy on bottom right
The Toby on the bottom left is the one that got me. It's so perfetly done
im running on a 1660 with 6GB T-T
bruh what. i remember back with the first one you got shirt color, pants color, and hair color. lol. games sure have changed.
The character creator is on steam if you wanna prep and make them ahead of release
what
Yeeeeee
isnt this for BG3?
No
hmm
Dragons Dogma 2
Unfortunate x.x
yup.
I gave it a full try but sadly it did too many things to piss me off.
a shame because the boss fights were phenamonal and way better than any other game i've played.
I'm cautiously optimistic for the new one
im sure most people will love it.
i hope they fix the pawns. they were fricking stupid in the first game. i spent all my time rezzing them as they kept kiting more and more bandits and did nothing to fight.
We will find out next week!
i got too many other games right now anyway. @_@
still gotta beat megaman legends 2.
my plan was to finish a few old games and then play farcry 6.
aaaaaand then I started playing Enshrouded...........
DD2 no mutiplayer is a blow
I mean, not every game needs multiplayer.
We always knew it would be a single player game, just like the first one
I wish i could be withput the pawns too in fact, feels just as chaos to me as multiplayer =/
I did the first one entirely with me and my own pawn. Having 4 just made the banter too much for me and I enjoyed the extra challenge
Yeah, you had to hire the extra pawn to complete the first quest, but you can just dismiss them
That's how the first game was, I'm hoping this one is too
It made some encounters SUPER hard though
Thats a comfort! ^^
Yeah, having 3 pawns yell "Goblins ill like fire!" every time you see a goblin made me want to shank someone 😝
Hard is ok, atleast i wont go insane from trying to keep up with what they are doing ^^
I get like stressed if there is 'action' around me i cant see or control ^^
oh, I think the whole point is that you can mostly ignore them
I dont want them running around playing MY game fighting MY fights ^^
haha
'Ok goblin 4, lets turn around and... wth why did u do that BOB i was gonna pouts'
Yeah, I made my pawn a healer/buffer so I was the one doing the damage and she just kept me alive
It worked pretty well
Sounds like how id wanna play, yejj ^^
1 companion is max i have patience for in any game ^^
Unless its turn based, but thats diff ^^
Hopefully shank a gobbie lmao
Yep they never once mentioned it would be multiplayer. The first one wasn't so why would the second. Some people just can't appreciate solo games. That's like saying oh man God of war being single player is terrible.
Someone made shaggy from Scooby Doo. Now I really want to play a DPS healer hybrid as shaggy and have my pawn be Scooby Doo and tank for me.
Yeah! There are a lot of really good ones found on reddit that people have made... also some really cursed ones like Frieren XD
^ this is me lmao
I'm the kind of person who just selects a preset, maybe changes the hairstyle, and hits next
I do that for like MMO's if im racing
usually they let you pay to change it later so i go back and change it then
I just don't feel a strong attachment to my character, so fine tuning my appearance is whatever. I'm much more interested in the mechanics and stuff
my logic on making pawns look good... people will use them
then your pawn will get more currency and exp and knowledge checks on fights
at least thats how the first one worked... im sure this will be the same
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that'll be the way it is in this one.
honestly, I don't feel attachment to a character either unless I'm roleplaying, atleast the game lets you break the laws of nature with their face tho 👌
Have that be your pawn and name it Nina? Classic.
What game is this?
Dragon's Dogma 2 character creator

Good story
A spiced up round based battle system
Looks good
Music/soundtrack is pretty decent too
And brings back childhood memories
V rising 1.o release may 8th
As great as v rising was.... It felt... Limiting. Like i couldn't build anything etc. The combat was fantastic. I'll have to read up and see if it's worth getting back into
possibly. when did you last play? last mays patch added multilevel building for example.
Late 2022 early 2023
Any information on whether Dragons dogma 2 will have more than 30 fps?
V Rising PVP is really fun and a great use of its combat
Unknown, but I've been specifically keeping my head in the sand on the game. Lots of spoilery reviews and footage going around.
PC
Well I play Enshrouded on PC on 30 FPS lock and play with controller so I guess..
In 3rd person games its fine 1st person wouldnt be able to get used to it i think
Its gonna be my first dragons dogma game so Im excited haha
I dont like hard games is it hard?
Like Dark Souls
The first one wasn't that hard, but who knows how challenging the second one will be
Ok
The first one was so long ago 🤷 The Souls style gameplay has kind of taken over the action combat space since then, so we'll see how the second one feels to play.
I like exploration.
Yeah and perma death for your NPCS hope that doesnt spoil something for you my bad if it does
Thats kinda scary.
Uncapped 30 fps for console is sad times tho
Probably gonna have pretty wild frame drops
Another question has anyone player "Under the waves" I like walking simulator type of games it seems to be one and I loved subnautica
Curious if there is combat before I buy it.
I dont like scary games either haha.
While scary is quite subjective too
If the timer will be longer, the shrouded areas should also be larger so it is not always so fast to leave like it is in the game.
(Above was some screens from my custom world/map im building in tu ^^)
I love the look of the last one.
Thank you, the trees was a bunch of work with cylinder primitives and then choosing the right texture and making bends ^^
Does anyone know of a game that have really good and/or much better skill/class trees like what we have in enshrouded with really good combat as well? I have done everything I can with enshrouded and I had a lot of fun with it but found the combat to be a bit lacking but I know they'll improve on it I just want something else to bite on for now
assiasna creed odyssy has a similar / better skill tree...however in the survival craft genre...enshroulded is alone in the implementation of a skill tree...I guess connan exiles did someting simlar but lackluster in comparision...maybe v-rising
Yeah me and my girl have also finished v rising as well lol we're looking for more stuff to play and we cant wait for all the other games we played to be out of early access
dang ya so that it. This genre has niche titles so not really anything else like enshroulded/valhiem/vrising/conan exiles. asaka and light no fire are coming this year likely....those are probably the best bet to fill the spaec
thanks i'll keep those in mind
algum br com mundo ativo ai pra nos jogar
@solid canopy where did we stop our convo?
Uhh FF7 and ER lol
I think I was saying I played Remake and Retrograde but haven't touched Rebirth yet
And Atomic was talking about the dlc iirc
It's Fromsoft the DLC is always worth it
I might have to go play ER and beat it before DLC drops then
don't even remember where I left off
Just restart then
ya id probably need to anyway
I'm curious how the dlc turns out, haven't looked at anything yet
I watched the trailor and that was it
I haven't done that only saw some speculations when the announcement droped way back
Fair enough
I'm not big on DLCs usually, but fromsoft DLCs are usually pretty legit
Brighter Shores is a new free to play MMORPG from the legendary game designer who made RuneScape and founded Jagex. It launches later this year on PC.
Creator of runescape is dropping a game later this year
And it looks like runescape lol
check your bank accounts, those not waiting for Dragons Dogma 2, the Steam Spring Sale has begun.
Also if you didn't buy any of the big releases over the last year, they look like they're on the list.
i never even heard of helldivers 1 or dragon dogma 1, lol
I'd wager over 95% of helldivers 2 players probably never played helldivers 1
it was a good game though
I played alien swarm
basically the same game almost, some detail differences 😄
oh alien swarm came first too
Yes! Very good game!
And def... the playerbase for HD2 is like 30x more or whatevee
Fire from the sky x.x
Yeah, the first Helldivers had a max concurrent player count of less than 10k. Helldivers 2 has broke 750k concurrent on both platforms. Insane…
I mean, it kinda makes sense. Twinstick shooters are a much more niche market than 3rd person shooters

If I finished Enshrouded, should I try Portal Knights? It's on discount right now
It's always worth a try
yes absolutely
once again halo infinite still hasnt gone down to 20. 😦
Cant finish enshrouded currently tho
some games are just getting done dirty
i was hoping badlurs gate 3 would drop to like $40
but naw $53.99💀
Some of those steam discounts are just like why even bother
5% off a 60 dollar game lol
I mean to be fair a lot of those like 60+% discounts are essentially "fake"
Like nobody is buying a 7 year old AAA game for 60 dollars, but it sure does look like a good deal when you see it "80% off" at 10 dollars
Instead of lowering box prices like back in the day developers just slowly make the sale discount go higher and higher and do sales more often lol
Agreed. And idk how steam works their marketing for discounts if thats on their side or if you as the devs get to say "how much" to discount. I did pick up a few but as you said some of those that just had minimum discount of a like $3, for me at least, I'll just wait for a better discount lol. If I wanted the game that bad I would've bought at full price, so I can wait a bit longer.
Devs choose the discounts but it's steam's discretion how those discounts get marketed. Doing discounts more often usually makes Steam less likely to promote them
Also Steam likes it when you do discounts as part of their big events (like this spring sale going on) and promotes games a lot more for participating
Ahh gotcha. Makes sense. Most games I'll buy out right without any concern. Enshrouded I got as soon as you guys dropped no regrets 200+ hours in it. I bought Nightingale on a whim since it had the crafting aspect as well and kind of wish I hadn't now tbh.
I'm sure steams mega sales def play a roll. Just like march madness and all the computer sales they do at the beginning of the year.
Yeah Steam can't make games on sale against the developers will... Thankfully. That's why there's some games like Factorio that have literally never gone on sale, dev just never felt like it https://steamdb.info/app/427520/
Factorio is a game about building and creating automated factories to produce items of increasing complexity, within an infinite 2D world. Use your imagination to design your factory, combine simple elements into ingenious structures, and finally protect it from the creatures who don't really like you.
Factorio Steam charts, data, update history.
(the 20 dollar all time low price is from early access, when it was cheaper)
ahh good ol Factorio. I wonder how many steam games I have where devs are like nope we'll keep it full price forever lol
Not many tbh, because it's basically just throwing money away. But that dev just has something against sales I think
The steam algorithm looooves sales, and every time you do a sale it notifies every single person who has your game on their wishlist (it's the only way to notify them besides releasing your game)
Maybe mix of pride and work put into it? Hard to say, on one hand I get it, it's your baby and you get to set the price you feel you deserve. On the other hand though, even if you took $10-15 off that price I bet they'd get a spike in sales just because of price alone.
ick.
thats because they know it will sell anyway
Could be, I mean for what the game is 12.5k avg player is not a bad community. I guess its just what you feel is worth time and money
I think he has something morally against sales, because from a business pov not doing them is objectively less money
the ick was a rep9mse to baldurs gste 5% off. gmm
technically speaking they are manipulative
it's just a manipulation that most consumers are fine with
oh my bad Endalrin
lolol @finite saffron I mean if you want to manipulate me with cheaper price I won't complain
ya i meant to respond to @reef bobcat s post.
5% off makes sense tbh, it's already one of the most critically acclaimed and famous games like... ever. The price is gonna stay high for a long time
im beyond mad that nintendos super mario remake is 60 dollars.
