Hello all 🙂

Having an issue where game freezes/says 'not responding' at launch. This happened after I dragged the corner of the game window (in windows 11) to force it smaller. It seems like it's saved the size of the window and now it launches the game at that size & insta freezes. I've tried restarting comp, re-installing the game but this issue persists. Any ideas?

So in windows mode, I made the window smaller then dragged the game to my second monitor. And the window is stuck in between the two monitors

Now, if the game is freezing at launch, Are you installed on an HDD, SDD, or m.2? And i have 2 monitors also, no problems doing that.

Just tried this by physically unplugging monitor and restarting PC. Same issue .. game launches in that same frozen spot between monitors in same size. Just black screen

I think it might have to do with windows 11 trying to snap whatever window I drag over to my vertical monitor to full screen

If possible ensure that both monitors regardless of resolution are using the same refresh rate. That could be a huge difference.

If monitor running 60hz and other monitor running 90, when you move application over, one small part of the game can't be running at 90hz and the other at 60hz lol that could be an impacting factor.

Cant figure out if this is a bug or a feature, but I am leaning towards bug...

Sometimes, when I am killed in battle, I instantly respawn right there, like I get a 'second wind' or whatever.
If I die again, it is proper 'you died' screen and respawn at last altar.

For reference, I am playing solo, I have no friends reviving me or anything.

Is this the effect of some skill/item I am not realizing I have on, or is the game like, bugging in regards to giving me the dead screen?

There's Martyr... but that boosts your allies when you die.

It's likely a Vulkan thing

I hope it works, if you do all of the suggestions and it still doesn't work - post a copy of your logs in here (typing !logs will explain how) and hopefully someone who can read them will be able to see more about what might be causing it. But Most issues are fixed with the 4 suggestions in the DM 🙂

Trying to figure out if this is a local issue or not but having trouble on gamepad (specifically dual shock 4) with L1 being registered as equipped shield. L1 works everywhere else in menu except navigation in the main menu and when pressed during combat opens up my bow instead of the shield. All the buttons are mapped correctly under settings. Is this a common bug or perhaps anyone else has this issue knows if there is a fix?

Anyone know why textures seem to stop loading in randomly? Running a 7800x3D, 32GB ddr5 ram, 4070 and loading the game from a samsung m.2 NVME.

Restarting the game seems to solve it and it seems to happen most often when fast traveling

I haven't had the issue with the world environment, only placeable objects etc and whilst i don't have a permanent solution, i have found if you spin your camera to look at your character as if you're looking from the object in question, it 'resets' the texture to what you should have. In my case at least i believe it has something to do with loading times.

Yeah, ive tried that but it doesnt seem to work.
I have nothing that "should" slow down loading times. My system is really responsive, vram is great, cpu is barely used, gpu maxes out at 50% util tops.
Runnign everything on dlss with quality settings, 1080p 60hz. Shouldnt be an issue what so ever what i can see.

Ive sent in a bug about it. Its not game breaking what so ever, im okay with restarting once every hour or two, dont tp that much anyway 🙂

In this case, as with my own, i doubt its your machine that's causing the issue, i expect it's most likely an optimisation thing, which they will solve over time.

For now, the best option is to submit bug reports in game, so they are aware of the various issues.

I'd be surprised if they responded to every individual bug report, but the more they receive around a similar topic, the more they'll focus on fixing said issue, so just keep checking patch notes ^^

Seems like an issue with the sensitivity of the condition checker. Basically it checks every 2-3 seconds if certain conditions are met, if so, it updates the text. Sometimes the updates are pushed too frequently to the user and it can create flashes or annoying issues like that. I think it mostly has to do with if you have a shelter or if theres a fire nearby. Send in a bug about it, im sure its getting patched 🙂

This happens when you approach an area in which you match at least 1 of the required conditions for "rest". While I don't think it is necessarily a bug, it is annoying as it will flash/blink each time it refreshes to check if all the conditions are met.

I bought the game a few days ago and with approx 1,5 hours of total gameplay and about 25 hours of troubleshooting i gave up. Only played local. Constant minidump crashes so i eventually just gave up. i9 10900KF with 32gb ram, RTX 4060. All latest drivers, tried rollback some drivers, tried everything i could find. And btw, there are so many ppl out there with these problems that i find it hard to believe that it´s computer related. Needless to say, i did refund the game as i have no intention of spending money for 1,5 hours of gameplay. Sorry but, this game is not very well optimized. Cheers and maybe some day i´ll be back when these issues are fixed.

tried planting different things, result is the same
there were few tiny spots where stuff stayed and grew, but you are talking 1-5 max plants on the area where i can plant about 500-1k plants

2- i have pulled the soil over this area, rather then putting block of soil that would take forever

You will have to place Blocks of soil.
Raking them in does not fill every Inch sometimes, also plants need the following conditions:
At least 2 Blocks of soil deepness where they're placed
Nothing above them
Not too close to anything else

On worst case, the world shifted a little bit and the fog entered a bit your base. My recommendation would be to shift your base a bit more to the side.

When you place an alter you have a golden border show up that should be where your flame/shroud boundries are. The shroud isn't falling back and clearing an area around the alter like it supposed to.

Limiting PC's overall FPS helps with that. I have my shit limited to 45 FPS through my NVIDIA control panel and it works for all games. Also stops Rendering lag if you're a content creator

yo i have trouble joining my server . It was on the ingame list after i added it over steam -> gameserver , but now its not on the list anymore . I cant join over steam anymore and when i search it with the ip i can just add it to favourites. The problem is there is no favourite button. Can somebody help? ty^^

So using windows+shift+left/right arrow key for changing displays seems to help the stutter.
Laptop monitor - fhd adaptive sync on
One used for gaming - 1440p adaptive sync disabled ( when it was on i was still getting the stutter )
Rapid mouse movement causes FPS drops for me and it wasn't a noticeable problem earlier so the sync might be the cause.
Overall I feel like my performance got a -5~10 fps hit depending on the area

Normally the TDP of my GPU is 255W. And all other games I played so far hit the >200W when GPU load is 100%
Enshrouded has GPU load at 100% but only draws about 100W and the performance is - compared to other friends - not so good.
Anyone knows where this is coming from, is this related to Vulkan?
CPU load is quite low, no bottleneck here...

It seems as if the Skill "Nemesis" and the associated Skill "Archenemy" don't work. We tested it in one of the Hollow Halls with two players. One as a melee fighter, the other as a archer. Usually, every enemy would automatically target the fighter with the skill. But in the hollow halls, even when the fighter already started the fight and the archer did nothing, many enemys would run right past the warrior and keep the archer in target, regardless of what the fighter was doing. EVEN when the fighter was attacking the enemys and the archer not, they would still target only the archer. So it seems the skill isn't working correctly, because this never happened before.

I just had a issue where I was on the respawn screen after death and the client wasn't responding to Keyboard E or Controller A to respawn. Had to hard shutdown the client. I had rebound the glider key to B on the controller, not sure if that caused the issue.

I don't know whether it is the newest Radeon driver or the new Enshrouded patch but I suddenly got flickering triangles in roofs, and only in roofs. Everything else is ok. As you can see in the picture the texture is not applied for these triangles and the position of these triangles changes really fast, hence a flickering texture error.

Hi everyone, love the game, BUT... I'm running it on 3 PCs here, and one of them just get absolutely RUINED everytime the game is closed. Enshrouded hangs, and can't be closed. "Kill task" doesn't help, even when using Process Explorer as an admin. But it gets worse: Rebooting doesn't help, WTF !!! The PC restarts, and steam immediately starts Enshrouded again, on startup. It's litteraly acting like a virus !
I'm obviously using a legit steam version of the game, on a clean PC that never got anything fishy or illegal installed. The 2 others PCs don't have that problem, but damn, this is crazy. I'm playing with friends, and we litterally have to uninstall the game on this PC everytime we stop playing it. That's a very, very serious issue. Should be fixed asap, please take this very seriously.

Fwiw: this was happening before this update, and nothing changed since.

Just had to hard shutdown the PC for the 10th time, everytime because Enshrouded won't close.

so if steam restarts, Enshrouded will restart as well

I fixed my issues... My GPU was running at PCIe 3.0 1x instead of PCIe 4.0 16x...
All other games run actually quite fine (I'm also surprised).
In Enshrouded I had like 50-60 FPS in the World and in the Map at highest zoom factor I had <1 FPS
Now with PCIe 4.0 16x, stable perfect smooth 120 FPS and Map at highest zoom I have about 50 FPS

Starting new would be kinda impossible now. Just already too much done and too much to do yet but the only working solutions i for the moment at least for the shadow found are either taking shadow quality to max quality which results in a bigger impact on the performance or either turning the contact shadows completely off.

I also tried placing some new blocks but they too have this contact shadow bug. I am sure around the base were no terrain changes. Everything looks exactly the way terraformed like i did terraform it.

I just dont understand yet why shadow quality on high + contact shadow makes theses visual bugs suddenly.

Okay i tried finding out more and i have a screenshot from right before the hotfix#9 and it seems this one made the problems with invisible block surfaces, twisted textures and contact shadows. at least i believe so because the one screenshot, which does not have the missing texture bits on the roof was taken before hotfix #9 and the picture with the missing textures after hotfix #9 . So it seems that something happened during hotfix #9 then. With the red circled bit in the distance i am not sure. because that might be a distance render thing with the light that sometimes happens. but the twisted and missing texture bits on the side came with hotfix #9

May I request help on all the save file locations? My saves are doing something weird. I believe all locations are:
Steam Cloud: "...\Steam\userdata\ {UserID}\1203620\remote"
Non-Cloud: "C:\Users\ {User}\Saved Games\Enshrouded"

I erased the contents of those folders, but the saves from a previous date is still showing up as my current save, even though March 25th saves are popping up (with cloud enabled, nothing shows up if cloud is disabled).

I remember DOOM doing this after a major patch... something like this one as well, where it was modular updates, instead up the full thing... probably a bad component that went weird.

So after restarting the server several times, a new character and turning off the tessellation there were no improvements in this regard. I hope someone has a solution. Even a new save didn't help. But what I noticed is that as soon as we place the new blocks on our map there are more of these flying objects. I hope this is fixed soon. Because if you have the blocks in the air even with a new save file how are you supposed to carry on playing properly. @timber heron

i had a similar bug with some invisible texture parts, especially on roof but also textures that were tilted in the wrong directions and shadow bugs. what in the end helped me to now temporarily fix all the strange graphic problems was setting shadow to max quality and after restarting the game with max quality shadows everything looked fine again. but now i need to have it kept at max quality because otherwise all the shadows start breaking again and after again restarting the textures again look bugged. maybe that might help you

For me it's all the objects that fly around like ghosts. No restarts, no new save files help. That's really annoying because I'm building something with over 8 people. I hope they can fix the problem today or tomorrow because the whole thing is very modest.

same issue also, i am on an
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX i hadn't updated to the newest drivers and it was doing it, so i checked and updated, it is still doing it, so it doesn't seem to be a driver issue. only started after the update/hotfix tho, was working fine prior.

that would be your video card in your computer. Nvidia, Amd... it's asking you to get the newest driver for that as well.

alrighty, well you can find out by right clicking your start button, and selecting device manager. this will bring up a window showing what is in your computer

expand where it says display adapters, that is your GPU.

yup, just go through that, if it asks, you don't need to install the GEforce experience... that will just make you create another account

oh thats the optimization side of things. it scans your computer, and recommends settings, based on your pc. I would use it if a game isn't performing right, to see if you can squeeze some more out of it to get ir running, but for the most part, ignore it.

everything is fine, we all hope that the problem will go away soon. It already affects 10 players but no restart, new world or new character helps. What I noticed though is that as soon as you place new blocks in your world, even more objects like this appear.

When placing down the new blocks, visual artefacts appear randomly on that grid. You can walk through those artefacts and you cant "delete" them. This happened in my tutorial area...

Just press the +1 or +10 and it will automatically place the needed ingredients. If not then you dont have enough in your chests. It works. Used it alot already.

When trying to start the game i got a black screen.
I played about 80h before the latest update.
My NVIDIA driver are up-to-date (RTX 3080); I am on Win11 - Update this morning to.
I disable/stop all application which can setup an overlay.
I reinstall the game/try multiple reboot and other check.
I am still stuck with this nasty black screen at start.
