This is another reason why there NEEDS to be manual saves and auto-saves in Enshrouded @dapper latch, while my loss wasn't due to the same effect, having ~3 hours of hyper detailed building just vanish when I've ALWAYS logged out to the main menu before exiting feels bad.

The other thing is that folks who participated in their closed beta noted that the demo has a fraction of the content they saw, so really, between a small area with specific limits they've given or a more fully featured and wide open space . . . I'd rather wait for the Early Access, as it's more likely going to be closer to their closed beta than the relatively small demo taste we have had.

Though it should really tell them how much people enjoyed the game that there are folks who have obviously made upwards of or even beyond 10+ worlds just to play more in the game space. That says something specific about the systems they already have in place.

That's one of the reasons I think nixing the demo is a good idea. It's had the knock-on effect of figuring out how to cheat the system in order to get things to maximize one's time within that 8 hours. Which is very possibly breaking certain expectations they have in place for the game proper.

We are an inventive lot, humans are. We always try to find a way around something that bars us from what we want.

Not really, you just take a large build piece and overlap what you want to harvest, build then teardown. Doesn't take much time to strip a building of its resources.

Its like never use your pickaxe when you are modifying the area around your flame, use the terrian tool instead. Makes quick work out of uneven terrian and great for removing hills and parts of mountains in your boundries.

yeah its 10x faster to build a temporary flame then tear down a building and get rid of the flame. and its like 50x faster if you use a right click mouse macro to demolish the stuff you want to tear down. ;) then you just have to aim.

@ any Keen Dev: I was looking at how 7 days left to die (7DL2D) does its voxels, and aside from the smoothing they do, I was noticing how their placement in the world goes and was wondering if that is a possibility with Enshroudeds engine. Example: When you go to place a voxel down in Enshrouded, you can turn it at 90 degrees, giving you 4 directions you can place a voxel down on a horizontal plane, with 7DL2D you can do so at 35 degrees giving you 8 directions you can place a voxel down on a horizontal plane. Reason why this is beneficial to builders: Creation of more realistic circular structures. (turrets for example can be circular, as are the staircases them go in them). Given 7DL2D is a 10 year old game, its obviously dated and established in this approach.

I have my Greenshot set up to either do an entire window or if I just want to screenshot a certain area, I hit either the Prtscn or Alt-Prtscn key. If I recall, at the time the Windows snipping tool was conflicting with some of my other key binds and it was just way easier to keep using what I have.

To be honest, I've been using Greenshot exclusively for so long and it gets the job done for me with one or the other hotkeys, one and done. By the looks of it from the demo the game wasn't difficult specially once you clear the area. Are their any plans in introducing some kind of "threat" or "raid" to your base defense or character?

I would recommend putting that suggestion at the top. Players will of course love and endorse everything about the game building, the environment etc but if the game is "too easy" that might be a turn off to alot of the players who aren't exactly interested in the building aspect of the game

This is a survival game after all needs to feel like one

Well, I think you take enough damage when you get hit that it provides a certain level of difficulty if you arent parrying properly. Its not like you can waltz through and tank hits constantly without burning through tons of healing.

You should keep all your wishes for grand buildings in check till ea realeases. We don’t know how many flames will be available for use at one location. After all we need flames for opening up other areas as well for salvaging

But the area of one flame gets a massive boost when you Level up your altar. So later in game you will need only one flame for a decent sized base👍

In the demo you could only upgrade once to lvl 2

I think they're probably still tweaking the numbers on the upgrades, in the closed beta it went 25 -> 50 -> 100 -> 175 or something. I imagine it's fairly easy for them to change the size values, so we'll have to see what it looks like on release.

I think at some point one of the devs mentioned that the current "cap" was something like 250m x 250m, but then you could also place addtional altars to tile them together and create an absolutely insane buildable area.

That would be a factor of 50 for the increase of the building area. I think massive is an acceptable term for that

In the demo it was 40x40, 80x80, 120x120 I believe. While sure the area does increase, 120m isn't very far across for some builders. They will need to chain a number of flame altars
