Save File Locations

Cloud Save (Default):
Open the folder where Steam is installed (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam). You can find the path from your Steam client menu under Steam > Settings > Storage.

Save Slots & Backups
There are 10 Save Slots available for your game worlds.
Save Slots:

Backups:

• Each slot has 10 rotating copies numbered 0-9.

• There is no distinct "primary" save—whichever file the -index file points to is loaded.

Managing Saves

Transferring Saves:

• This must be done whilst the game is closed.
• To share a save, copy the latest world save I.E (3ad85aea-7).
• Dedicated servers only use Slot 1. Rename a save file to match Slot 1 if needed.
• Files can be renamed to move them between slots.

Rolling Back to an Older Save:

• Open the -index file in a text editor.
• Find the line "latest": X (where X is a number from 0-9).
• Change it to the desired backup index and save the file.

Additional Notes

• The -info file contains metadata (like world name) but is not needed for servers.
• Each player generates their own -info files when creating a world.
• The latest world save files are what should be transferred.
  Ensure you copy all required files when sharing a save. For servers, only Slot 1 is used.

I'm far from knowing what goes into game dev, but it seems like a lot of effort to make shaders intentionally long to compile, considering shaders are highly system dependant.

Shaders have to be shaded, if you want something to look nice, the game has to do what it has to do to make it happen. They know it's 'long' they are working to reduce it, but it's the downside of modern gaming. 🤷

Because it is your system that compiles the shaders, to optimise them for your own personal system. They have to be done at one point or another, consider the shaders compiling as part of the update.

Every game compiles shaders, older games had far less/far less complicated shaders so done them on the 'fly' as things get 'better' more complex and more detailed, they simply will take longer to compile. Sure, you can have them running in the background and play the game, but then you WILL experiences missing graphics, glitches, oddities, and whatever else because they haven't been loaded yet. 🤷 It's also quicker to compile them whilst not actively playing.

I think the problem Xn4 is having, is that, as an example... you can be hit by weak skeletons and be unable to swing your weapon.
and if you swing a 2H weapon... they can interupt your swing before you can hit them

I do like the idea of "trade blows" for "heavy" weapons, so the enemy still gets to hit you for swinging, but it shouldn't magically stop your character's giant hulking hammer
both should just hit each other

cause it is pretty unrealistic to swing a giant thing of hulking steel or iron, and then a skeleton gently claws at you and suddenly you're reset to default position going "ow"

I don't personally use 2H weapons though

oh I have definitely been pinned into a corner before in hollow halls, and you can't dodge through enemies, if you do dodge... you'll get up, be crouched, and be unnable to un-crouch, it becomes full on "panic" mode

its not even that, my gf and I are clearing some abandoned city together and I pick up a quest item when shes on the other side of town, it completed the quest for me but not for her

Some short of more shared progression option has definitely been requested for similar reasons

i would expect them to at least look into improving the system for co-op and maybe some options for servers down the line but if they push it too far it might get out of hand haha

if you check your gportal admin panel there might be something that says ftp information

Yeah hotbar is spared, but there are other items I like to keep in my inventory for manual crafting while out and about
