The devs seem have the same mindset as the Helldivers devs did before they were hit with a major staff change.

The devs have an idea for their perfect difficulty and the easiesy way to achieve that goal is to restrict the players options rather than make an AI have higher intelligence and countermeasure tools

Helldivers 2 almost died because they merfed everything and never buffed anything

A lot of great suggestions have been made and many have been implemented; this update was about melee combat and menu cleanups for the most part. Upcoming changes are about Mages and game optimization. A lot of other goodies we asked for were implemented last update (like Mages not walking off cliffs while casting) so we have to trust it will be done in time.

I have no idea how "easy" any of this is so I can't speak to that. I upvoted what you're asking about as well.

The difference between a 40 and 50 series card is almost minimal from what I've seen (within the same grouping, so a 4080 is similar to a 5080 for the most part, I would reccomend getting the super version if you go with a 40 series though since it's basically just a 50 series but less expensive atp)

There is no open dev kit so we can't really see under the hood, and there has never been a surface level feature to alter save rate.

At this time the whole thing is read only and visit only; per videos and patch notes future enhancements are planned. There's also the matter of how to keep users from stealing one another's worlds and claiming credit for themselves.

Based on https://saraserenity.net/enshrouded/manage_saves.php, the strategy of setting the save files themselves to read-only would have to be done with all the rotating saves within a world save slot 🤔 And that's assuming a new one with a different name won't be created (meaning that the files will have exactly the name shown in the documentation).

IE: you don’t control cloud saves.

That said, yeah, we currently don't have the option for full manual saving, if you like the thrill of it like you say.

Have you played Enshrouded yet? Because the consequence of death kinda has nothing to do with game saves in this game. You can't save scum by reloading an old save or anything like that. When you die, you drop your non-equipment items on death, and need to go back to the spot you died to retrieve them.

So not having auto saves would mostly just result in... you accidentally losing progress sometimes, lol

From my understanding/player-made safe-assumption, there's a Cache that fills up with information... including chests you've gathered, and if you go elsewhere and do lots of things, the cache empties

a 30 min hollow hall seems to empty things fast because of it's distance, and the amount of things it has to load

well, it's not quite classic cache, if restarting the game doesn't reset it

but I bet just doing a few rounds way out of the area should saturate it and get the desired area reset

Combat definitely feels worse. I understand logically what they did with potions and extra buttons to switch to bow and stuff. But at the end of the day, i'm not liking combat anymore. It'a real turn off for the rest of the game. It's a chore now I have to get through to get to the other stuff. It's too clunky, it's not tactical if that's what they are trying to do, it just feels awkward and bad, not fun.

I think we had an over abundance of skill points, but nowhere to spend them if we wanted to specialize in a single playstyle, you would've ended up splitting across the entire tree. Now we have lesser/split versions of certain perks and a better designed tree overall which allows us to choose whether to commit to the perk or to just get it for another perk's reqs.

I'm very fond of the bridge between Healer and Battlemage at the end of both trees, since it allows both healers and battlemages to get shroud resistance/shroud time from magic damage and water aura. I also like the fact we got dedicated damage perks for weapons that didn't have any, like Spellslinger for Staffs

Does anyone have advice for quickly and cleanly removing mud? Ive turned the Harvest Homestead into my base and Im working on restoring the river that runs through it. However, the mud is making that REALLY difficult and time consuming.

So I can, and thats what I have done so far but it sometimes leaves mud behind on the sides and the water wont flow because of it. At that point Im forced to dig away way more than I initially wanted to

Im curious, as to, is there rubberbanding on servers now-a-days with over 7-8 players?

Before I start spending hundreds of hours again re-building my roleplay server lol

I quit because back at launch it was insane rubberbanding with anything above 5-6 players

And im interested in knowing, is it stable despite the: Server overloaded message now?

I havent played since level cap was 25

Yeah im fine with that but its like ,people are gonna spend dozens of hours in my server and i want to respect their time by knowing upfront, is it gonna be playable lol

Because we had around 11-13 players on consistently but it would lag terribly with over 5-7 players

That shroud depot server is run by another one of the Helpers, Taimaishoo, it's running on a pretty beefy machine tho iirc.

Theres no way around that it seems.. Ok that already destroys the whole idea of the server I have.

Then i'll have to work with what we have, which means a server thats around self-play, if you cheese items the only one you affect is yourself and your own gameplay then. Something like that, Wish there was a option to only have characters from that server

They need to make the targeting system have a selection option for "Closest Enemy" for the non-locking system.

Also, why does ESC not close every window and instead just work like a back button? Died so many times to menu lock because ESC won't close a window.
