a long time ago, I played this game on my own, then played with my family in a 4 player group session.
first thing I did in revelwood was make a large flax farm that could plant and harvest 600 flax per harvest
I told my mom to gather "as much water as she could" cause this was before the water update, so water skins were a material like teas and stuff, and stacked to 100.
I managed to get a ton of flax
we processed a lot of it into Linen, but once we reached the kindlewastes... My mom couldn't believe it.
"do you still have that farm? we need more flax"

Yes. If you can place plants somewhere, they usually grow - but it might take forever. I think there's info in the seed bed which plants grow how fast in which soil

craft a watering can, if you highlight a crop with the watering can it will tell you it's "prefered soil" if you've held it
you can plant in any soil though, the grow times vary depending on the soil.
if you can't grow it on something, it will just say terrain not suitable and will prevent you from placing it

There are tons of building blocks in the game, once you find the right ones for the village you're in, you can replace all the broken stuff, tidy up and hey presto a restored village ^^

Now if that is true, how would that work on Dedicated Servers? Nitrado (or Gportal or whoever) has no clue what DLC I (as the server "owner) have.

Currently the co-op / multiple users on a server seems broken in terms of the world updating and you not being able to complete certain elixir wells, lairs etc if someone does them when you're online.

Are they looking into this or is there any in game server settings that alleviate this issue?

we tried a multitude of different findings from server restarts to logging out and waiting for someone to finish an elixir well, to being onine and in a different area. The problem results in the user not being able to do the elixir wells if the world state had completed them. Which is a frustration point

I'm unsure why they made a system like this. It's definitely a contention point.

Why a developer would make a system were if someone joins a server; half the quests, process of learning, if they are new, is removed. Along with their skill points. and experiencing the process of playing the game from a starting point.

Totally understand that but people may take breaks or not play for a couple of days due to RL commitments. This could potentially mean in a group of 4/5 that one or two players miss out. weekly and can't re-do or get skill point allocations.

3/4 other people playing wouldn't be expected to re-organise game time to re-allocate or delay their enjoyment for an additional one / two users throughout the week.

This is definitely an issue inherent with the design of this game. I have a weekly four-person co-op game, and one guy has had to miss the last three sessions. We've been stockpiling gear we think he'll like, but when he gets back he's going to be pretty underleveled and we're going to have to help him complete all the shroud roots we completed without him. Hell, I'm underleveled compared to the other two players and I have been playing consistently! Just not killing things as often. (I like to take care of the housekeeping chores like farming and crafting.)

Valheim is honestly one of the few games like this that I've seen that handles this well. You can, as a player, jump into a world at any point, and as long as you have the materials to make the food and gear for the adventure you're about to go on, you can go on the adventure! But that's because in Valheim, you don't really have "levels." Your stats are derived almost entirely from your gear and your food. (Yes, there are levels for different things you can build up in the background that will make you more effective, but they're not make or break!) So if you have to take a break from the co-op for a few weeks, when you get back you'll be able to jump right back in without much difficulty.

Of course, it's likely way too late to make the kind of fundamental game design changes to Enshrouded you would need to accomplish this, but it may be possible to tweak things to make it easier.

yeah, that does make it a bit frustrating that you can wake up and be suddenly behind 2-5 levels from the other's who do more active stuff and I do hope they make a small tweak like a catch up system where the lowest level gets a xp boost until they catch up, but on the other hand that's likely never going to happen with how complex and weird coding can get. plus the restraint, I would just say adjust exp gain so killing gives little xp and boosting mining so you can catch up that way.

Enshrouded, is a perfect example of why Open World games today (excluding MMOs) don't do a level system anymore, free range exploration and linear level progression seldomly ever go hand in hand. However games like Elden Ring cam get away with it because while your character can level and certain regions will far exceed ur starter characters abilities, all of the gear and loot drop in the game can all be leveled up to max endgame level, where in Enshrouded all gear is arbitrarily level gated meaning exploring old regions has almost 0 return value (accept for runes but even then u get more runes fromvthe higher level weapon drops anyways)

If they just let u level up drops to ur current level or added an option for "enemies scale with your level" as a world setting like the Assassin's Creed RPGs did that'd make it perfect.

To be honest, I've never really liked the character leveling system based on levels... I loved The Secret World's character leveling system, and I'm loving Crimson Desert's. In my opinion, it's better and more sustainable without the level cap.

The 'levels' aren't as important in Enshrouded as they're made out, sure enough they come with skill points, which help you improve/change/make it easier, it's not like MMO's though where they actively stop you doing damage to higher level mobs or such. Someone brought up Valheim earlier, and the fact you can just chuck on gear and go, you can pretty much do the same in Enshrouded. Give a lvl 50 weapon to a level 1 character and they'll be near unstoppable ^^

If you have ever heard it it’s a Korean game that was released in 2019 around COVID time to counsel then a year later game came to steam PC . It was good when I played it back on Xbox . But it shut down 2022 on all consoles but stayed open on PC . Got myself a PC played again for couple years but the game has become so pay to win it just gross so many pay walls for no reason because game doesn’t have to population to do that . Sooo sad . But games name is called BlessUnleashed . I suggest no one plays it unless you have a lot money me and my husband have dropped as much as you would almost pay for a brand new car 😅 😅 😅 😅 😅

The thing that I didn't like about FF14 was that there's very little "class customization" that matters. A paladin is just like every other paladin. It makes it easy for them to build content like raids and stuff, but that customization and exploration of builds is something that I really love.

the "Secret Red Marble Door" doesn't take 100 red marble block, it takes 100 red marble fragments, aka the really slow to mine terrain...
that would be so much nicer if it was changed to it's block instead...

"Secret Basement Door" uses "Regular Stone Block" for it's recipe, when it should use "Roughly Cut Stone" as that's the block texture that door uses.

Yeah most games are quite literally a facade, it's a good way to build worlds in a way that saves performance. Everything you see is just surface level, but if you go behind the world you'll see how incomplete everything that you can't see is (including the ground itself, which is hollow).

Being a voxel based game, we don't have that luxury, which is why enshrouded is deceptively hard to run compared to games with similar visual fidelity. But even for us, we have a loooot of optimization tricks so that things that are far away, or that the player can't see, get rendered with less fidelity (or not at all).

I'm a level 12 and my wife is a level 10. Last night we set out to do the forge a gem quest and tried but couldn't find the entrance to the lair in the Lowland Meadows. Am I missing something? I searched all around the mountain high and low but couldn't find anything. Also, are we too low level for this quest?

you start in a biome, have resources in that biome, then move to the next biome once you've done the quests in the previous biome

you can try to skip biomes, but you'll still need to return to the biomes and do them in order to progress effectively

think of it as both a placable teleporter, and a "plot claim" for your base

you get multiple, but typically you'll place one in the "tutorial" area they tell you to, then you can make your base there... and then... you don't have to move

Once when I was a (very neurotic) kid, I bonked my elbow on a wall corner and thought nothing of it, went on to reading my school workbook. It was big so I spread it with my arms, elbows on the lower corners of the softbound pages. And then I went to turn the page and the whole book came up. Turns out I'd capped my elbow nicely and leaked red alllllll over the first half of the book.

These books had to be returned to be graded. I had to ask to get a new copy at cost and refill all my old answers from throughout the year up to that point. I feel your pain you didn't feel, lili.
