• Allow players to craft a gem forge at their base and upgrade it using items found at higher-level forge locations.

The current gem system feels overly complex. Gem forges are level-locked and located deep in enshrouded areas, creating unnecessary travel and interrupting the gameplay loop. Gems must be upgraded through multiple stages, socketing requires consumables tied to forge level, and the system adds inventory clutter. These layers discourage experimentation and make build swapping tedious. Gem descriptions also lack clarity on requirements and effects, making informed choices difficult."

and what did we actually get for it? i can use the internet that i already paid for for services and goods that i already paid for. take mario maker, the cost of the required online services should be factored into the price of the game. same for cloud-saves, we aren't talking about gigabytes per person, but maybe a hundred megabytes. i got more cloud saves on steam and you know what they charge for that privilege? zilch. and nintendon't isn't allowing us to backup our own saves either. so all this is is another way to press money out of customers, just like amiibos.

Modern stories don't caught the same feeling as for example Ocarina of Time did etc.
It's like they're afraid to have stakes in games. But that's an issue with childcare generation from my POV, Tears of the Kingdom here being a great example.
Would've been so easy to have stakes in that game but what we got were that all races except Gerudo gave up on thinking.
Don't see any reason why the birds and Zora didn't evacuate their capitals for awhile until it gets solved and gorons have been made Morons.

Their drive for innovation is also something I don't get behind.
Paper Mario series suffers because of it, always anything that isn't even close to the TTYD formula.
I don't say every game needs to follow that formula, but here and there it'd make for a great game.
Origami King is just plain a bad battle system and their "dungeons" are unspirited.
I always loved the execution of introducing a concept, then build on it and lastly go into the mastery of said concept for a dungeon.

Tbh only department I will give credit is Mario & Luigi Brothership and Donkey Kong Bananza.
But the latter is too short for it's price half the layers are just "find the Main objective, get there" no real story except "Go deeper for wish".
It needed the return of an old villain or the game would've been a flop.

phyiscal distance is irrelevant. the real distance is you - where the wires meet - your friend. and that distance can vary wildly. if my friend and me live in the same city and have the same internet provider, then the wires will meet somewhere in this city (i do computer stuff, so i know the provider has an exchange here). if my friend and me are on different providers, then the next exchange between those two providers is 200 kilometers north. the signal thus has to travel 400km (once up north, once down south), giving significant latency or ping.

if you're both living outside of a city or in a small city, the next exchange for your own provider might be a few cities over since it's more cost effective to bundle the connections there.

what actually might help you permanently is if you're close enough for a wireless connection, setting up a wifi router, or having one of your computers open up a wifi-server (at least i think windows can do that)

Hey @torn ocean - I went and reprovisioned the PC over to Nobara GNOME, and shifted it to Proton-GE. Still having the same weird bug - whenever the character lies down and then gets up, they can't move, only spin in place. Have you run into that at all, or have any avenues I should explore? Haven't figured out where the logs get put on Linux yet. Thanks for any help you can lend here.

Random question, but I've noticed that whenever I interact with things like weapon plaques or armor stands, or really anything while I'm jumping my character throws what I can only describe as ninja stars. I looked to see if I had anything equipped that might cause me to do something like that and I didn't see anything in my armor or rings (I'm wearing the Warden armor and I'm wearing a ring of the ancients and a ring of burning light). I looked in my attributes and statuses to see if there was anything and I didn't see anything that might explain it. And I also looked in my skills tree (I've invested throughout the melee based skills tree because my character is a DPS/Tank build), and I saw nothing there explaining why I might be having something like that happening. I think it might be a glitch, but these things have sound, and animation, and a set flight path so it feels to detailed to be a glitch, but nothing I've see has explained it. I was wondering if anyone has had something similar happen to them or know what might be causing it

hey so i have a question about the performance issues ive been having when trying to play the game. I play on a 4060ti with a decent cpu as well, but forced to put it on max performance just for it to still have fps and like a screen blur issues. How do i fix this?

First, that is not a commonly reported issue.

But, there gave been some reports of needing to update or roll back drivers, particularly for Nvidia cards

or rather, you need the second glider. after the 3 swinging blades, you need to grapple and glide to get to the next level. that gap is just ever so slightly large enough that you can't do it with the base glider. doesn't matter how much you walk back.
actually i haven't tried a running jump yet, and while i doubt that's the magic bullet, i'll try that tomorrow.

Not scared of strangers or animals outside but one time I moved a box and he jumped so high his head hit the ceiling multiple times.

He's a special little guy. Love this tiny dingus.

you know what i really wanna see in a game? an ancient MacGuffin, according to the legends very powerful with amazing feats. and when the heroes get there it's something like a level 1 fireball.
yes, back in the day that was considered powerful, like fire lances from the 10th century or hand cannons from the 12th century. but technology has evolved and a 9mm glock is infinitely more useful than a thousand years old weapon.

you can also get a surprising amount of purple berries by just roaming the starting area of springlands, there's a small bunch of them along the tutorial path that teaches you to eat them to heal

the game uses those bushes all around, if you ever see bushes that have butterflies around them? those are purple berry bushes, they just aren't fully grown (and I don't think ever will grow)

It's not a limit that you can bypass and then not worry about; instead it's a second timer. Usually one or two pieces of the Albaneve armor + some of the +frost foods are enough to get you from one warm spot to another. Set up teleport points often when you're first there, so it's easy to get to safety.

there's no clear cut answer because the gems are less about damage and more about their other effects. i'm guessing gem of bloodlust would be the highest for blunt/cutting, but it has the side effect of spawning orbs which you need to pick up (idk if walking over them works, haven't tested that yet), which buff cutting more

There is no one-fits-all solution among gems which are both poorly planned and low in power for most circumstances. I was not rude or short, I was simply speaking in plain and uncomplicated terms.

In Enshrouded there is no "best," of anything, only "best for;" best for a circumstance, best for a foe, best for a playstyle, etcetera.

I've spend hundreds of hours llistening, learning and helping people based on my experiences in this game and meant no malice with what I said. We good?

Half the time I don't even bother with gems as the slight extra damage isn't worth it. most gems are underwhelming too.

I wish the earlier gems were inherent to the weapons, like the "gem of cutting" makes enemies bleed, why... why not just have that on 1 handed swords/axes, similar to how some daggers can be upgraded to have the "poison blades" condition effect?

...yes, but they are resistant to poison, weak to blunt... resistant to literally every magic except shock apparently. and apparently neutral to cutting and piercing... odd. you'd think they'd be resistant to cutting.

Backups:

  • Each slot has 10 rotating copies numbered 0-9.
    The file at index 0 has no suffix, but is still part of the rotation.

  • Every 10 minutes, a new copy is created, pushing the oldest out of rotation.
  • There is no distinct "primary" save—whichever file the -index file points to is loaded.

Managing Saves

Transferring Saves:

  • This must be done whilst the game is closed.
  • To share a save, copy the latest world save I.E (3ad85aea-7).
  • Dedicated servers only use Slot 1. Rename a save file to match Slot 1 if needed.
  • Files can be renamed to move them between slots.

Rolling Back to an Older Save:

  • Open the -index file in a text editor.
  • Find the line "latest": X (where X is a number from 0-9).
  • Change it to the desired backup index and save the file.

Additional Notes

  • The -info file contains metadata (like world name) but is not needed for servers.
  • Each player generates their own -info files when creating a world.
  • The latest world save files are what should be transferred.
    Ensure you copy all required files when sharing a save. For servers, only Slot 1 is used.

but one thing to keep in mind with multiplayer is if you go and complete a quest with someone absent then the quest will technically be done for the world.
there is supposed to be an option in the journal to go and do ones you missed though, a feature they added for this issue.
