Just want to say that I’m feeling a bit uneasy about the survey that was posted here regarding Enshrouded.

First off, whatever made-up psycho-social profile-building the survey company is attempting should be treated with a grain of salt based on their cringey questions. It was uncomfortable to go through and I only did it because I thought it might contribute to the future of the game. Have I heard of Fortnite or Call of Duty?! Even non-gamers have, but I’m not going to answer in the affirmative because I like the taste of my Enshrouded without all those flavors mixed in. Gross.

Second, whatever costs this survey has incurred (so far) worries me with a sunk-cost fallacy to follow. That the devs will give this survey undue weight and force the results into the game, players be damned.

Guys! You already have something special here! You must know this, right? Why in the world would you not come directly to us to ask your questions? I’m not here to brag, but I’m a level 45 player and have completed almost every item in the game after a couple hundred hours of pure enjoyment. I’m willing to bet you know exactly who the other 1% of players at this level are. Why not invite us to a community roundtable with your dev team? Or some similar sessions where you can ask us direct questions and we can do the same. I’m sure most of us would be willing to contribute some of our time for such an endeavor instead of injecting some random third-party group of statistic nerds to the mix.

It's for people who are being paid to take the survey, and to that end they put in questions to weed out liars and people just robo filling the form to get money. This survey really isn't intended for an audience like here in the Discord, but the guy at Keen running it wants "comparative" responses from any group that takes it. Are they building profiles? Yes, in a sense. They're building profiles of the types of people who might be interested in the game, and technically yes, it's for advertising - buit not targeted advertising. It's meant to be more general, and the responses to the survey are anonymous, so it's not like they're profiling you specifically.

Suggestion: Coffee plants shouldn't be harvestable until they actually bear coffee beans. It pissed me off to lose a plant before it was done because ALL OTHER regular plants use "harvest" as an "I'm done" indicator. Same goes for rice and algae. Why have harvest if not harvestable?
