He'd been playing Minecraft well before that, and we had also played Valheim together (with the difficulty turned down) before that.

Purely my speculation, but if you watch the trailer at 0.25% speed you can see just after the fishing scene there's this one, where the player turns that crank in front of them and it opens like a faucet or floodgate and the water flows out. Like is there crazy builds? The weapons I have gotten in like the first 5h, were bland and boring and combat was eh. Wanted to know id the skill tree or like another option added to combat will ever be added?

Fine, make it a leg artifact that molds to the slot of armour you want it to take up, it would copy simular stats of all your other armour, but balanced and has some cool cosmetics and that would allow the enshrouded version of the shiekah tablet

As of current writing (6 Febuary 2024) we do not have any plans to force wipes at any time. However, with the Enshrouded being in early access and the fact that a LOT of things will change between now and full release, we cannot guarantee that there may or may not be a major update
that requires old saves to break.

Also being that so much is changing, there is always a chance that an update may break old saves, so we recommend backing up saves regularly that you care about. As this would be something that could be the end of the world for players.

We will do our best to avoid this, and it's not something we're planning intentionally we cannot guarantee this will "never happen" either since there are a lot of unknown variables in the future.

Also you have to remember, the game as a whole, even the lore, was going to have no large bodies of water inland. That's why all the docks/ponds/etc. are overrun by shroud. They have said in the past that It was a conscious decision from both a lore and development standpoint. Since they built Enshrouded's engine in-house without water, it was a difficult decision to make and took a while implement to a satisfactory state.

Since it's early access and there is still much that can change, it is entirely possible for Keen to go back and make changes. First thing though, get it done right. Then see if you want to overhaul to the land and lore of the world.

Not really. It's more tied to the weapon what you want to feel like.
You can, for example, skill into directions the devs have given, but the "class" itself is more like a idea.

I think it needs to be reworked. Mages arent really disctinct due to everybody being able to use wands and staves

Mage is the only toon Ive played really every run and I still feel like it needs to be redone

The challenge, the building system with it's limits incentives creative solutions for problems, the style is something that speaks to me (albeit at times really PS2 times), the combat is albeit easy very deep and challenging, you can really feel like a hardened viking, atmosphere and weather are fantastic and the gameplay loop is really just speaking to me.
And it has coins.
Which Enshrouded might have soon too.

Oh yes and base raids, makes you feel very welcome if they come to your borders.

There's one type of magic arrow, but several types of craftable utility arrows like poison, explosive, stun, flare, and shroud arrows which create a fog on the ground that damages regular (non-fell) enemies

If they were willing to change the system around a bit, I'd make 'eternal' spells the ones that go in the book and are 'learned'. Then the staff would be an 'amplification stick' for non-eternal spells, but non-eternal spells could be used like scrolls in DnD. No instrument required.

That'd take some doing though...and possibly not the direction they want to go with mages 🤷‍♂️

i cant say for certain but i once foudn a scroll of shroud meteor in a chest that did the exact same thing as the spell you cast with the staff (except for the stupid debuff) and was consumed on use, so my guess is that DnD type spell scrolls are already possible at least

Yeah the functionality is there, but they're not part of the spellcasting mechanics. They work more like potions that can't be crafted and nothing affects them.

To be honest, given how the rest of the spells work, I don't know why they chose a small handful of them to be consumable via scrolls the way they did...unless it was an idea that floated around and fizzled in favor of something else.

The game needs to compile shaders every time there's an update/driver update/cache clearing. Steams shader pre caching essentially clears the cache which is why you're getting it every time.
