Blackmire in general felt really short. I kind of wish it was a little more densely packed with secrets, hidden tombs, etc. Maybe in a future update but I'd love to see a high level hidden tomb with a bunch of puzzles and traps

The ones there were good, I definitely got that Lara Croft vibe, but ultimately it felt like there were only a few compared to the size of the area. Like you have that whole middle area where the ||Eternal arrows|| are and there are only a couple points to visit ultimately

I though this game was gonna be somewhat different. I am a level 9 character. you can only hunt and gather so much. I fight and try to do the quests but some of the quests can't be done without certain prequests done. which means if you cant finish a quests you can't do the remainder of the game.

The progression is pretty solid. They did a good job with that I thought,

Especially that early, finding the crafters is huge

#

Three things determine how strong you are in this game: How many skill points you have (both from levels and roots/wells), your gear, and your food/rested buffs. Opening up more recipes from the crafters and using better foods/increasing your rested buff are always the priority and the way to progress

#

Like, you never want to be out and about without rested active, it's literally that important

#

Conversely, level is just how many skill points you've received from experience. It's drastically less impactful than most games, as it does nothing to directly increase your character strength/stats. Those come from food, flame level, and gear

#

So again, it depends on what you've done and how you're tackling things. If you get the best options you can from each area, the overall progression is pretty smooth but if you're treating it like a standard RPG and purely focusing on level, it's going to be rough

Yeah that's the thing but it has an oculink port for an external GPU. But also I'm not a massive graphics/resolution hound so it shouldn't be a problem for at least a few years xD

Because that's all it is, it only becomes a 'roof' shaped when connected to other blocks.

Once you figure out the roofing tool, its really easy. When I started, I placed every block in my base by hand one by one... So much time wasted lol

I restored and enhanced the Blue Goblet Tavern, when I was repairing the roof, I noticed it was infested with ivy below the surface. You couldnt see most of it, but I scrubbed it clean with the ivy tool and ended up with 2 full stacks of ivy. Anyone else run into this at other buildings?

Yeah, I've had a similar thought about tamed redtails, 1) because it can and does get tedious roaming the Kindlewastes looking for birds, and 2) anyone who has ever been near a chicken coop will tell you there's no shortage of feathers xD

Do single-player worlds use networking and servers as well? The reason why I ask is my game will freeze, but the world will keep doing its thing. Like, mobs will kill me or my char will jump off cliffs. It's like lagging on an MMORPG and your character keeps going until input is received to stop.

Details on where to find your save files, how save slots work, and how to manage them.

Save File Locations

Cloud Save (Default):
Open the folder where Steam is installed (usually C:Program Files (x86)Steam). You can find the path from your Steam client menu under Steam > Settings > Storage.
📂 Then navigate to userdata\YOUR_STEAM_ID\1203620.

Local Save (Cloud Save Disabled):
📂 %userprofile%\Saved Games\Enshrouded

Save Slots & Backups

There are 10 Save Slots available for your game worlds.Save Slots:

Backups:

  • Each slot has 10 copies rotating copies numbered 0-9.

  • There is no distinct "primary" save—whichever file the -index file points to is loaded.

Managing Saves

Transferring Saves:

  • This must be done whilst the game is closed.
  • To share a save, copy the latest world save I.E (3ad85aea-7).
  • Dedicated servers only use Slot 1. Rename a save file to match Slot 1 if needed.
  • Files can be renamed to move them between slots.

Rolling Back to an Older Save:

  • Open the -index file in a text editor.
  • Find the line "latest": X (where X is a number from 0-9).
  • Change it to the desired backup index and save the file.
Additional Notes
  • The -info file contains metadata (like world name) but is not needed for servers.
  • Each player generates their own -info files when creating a world.
  • The latest world save files are what should be transferred.
Ensure you copy all required files when sharing a save. For servers, only Slot 1 is used.

Yeah, bringing quest items and resources can override the quests at times, or cause them to glitch.

What’s y’all’s opinions on natural disasters being in survival crafting games?

If you have a real natural disaster, then there's no game left. Anything less, wouldn't be a natural disaster.

The entire point of a natural disaster is that it's devastating. Sure, in city sims, RTS etc it's doable.... in a survival crafter? It'll never be realistic and any inclusion would simply turn out to be a weather effect/not a disaster.

there can be some mechanics similar to having a volcano go off at certain intervals and having to watch for lava and raining debris, and cannot build in certain spots

If you want natural disasters play Valheim because some biomes are like a constant natural disaster

Give us a sandstorm that literally buries your house and you have to manually dig it out again. It's no natural disaster, but in a survival crafter it's the closest thing 😄

Honestly, i think they just need to make the mob spawn exclusion further than what it is currently around bases, to solve that.

Idk I’m more of a relaxed player I’ve playing for 10 hours now I haven’t explored passed the grass area I’ve just been building cozy houses and stuff I would just sit and fish for hours

there is a nest/den near one edge, but instead of animals, it always has 2 hollow skellies hanging about. but they never come visit.

MC fishing is good early game if you have the patience. there is good treasure to fish up for the start that helps. the trick is pulling up a better rod than the one you had. it used to be really shit back in the day.

I've put about 60 hours into the game so far and loving it. I'm really not that far into the game I feel and I think I'm fairly under leveled for where I'm exploring. I'm playing on Survival and just got access to Bronze last night.

With the roadmap they have planned, I'm wondering how much progress I should keep making in the game before the 1.0 release next year. I'd hate to make a lot of progress just to start over in a few months.

Just rejoined the game after a year off and all my building block recipes are gone. Anyone know what's going on? I have nearly 400 hours into the game and have little inclination to start over. Did an update wipe all the blocks?

Details on where to find your save files, how save slots work, and how to manage them.

Save File Locations

Cloud Save (Default):
Open the folder where Steam is installed (usually C:Program Files (x86)Steam). You can find the path from your Steam client menu under Steam > Settings > Storage.
📂 Then navigate to userdata\YOUR_STEAM_ID\1203620.

Local Save (Cloud Save Disabled):
📂 %userprofile%\Saved Games\Enshrouded

Save Slots & Backups

There are 10 Save Slots available for your game worlds.Save Slots:

Backups:

  • Each slot has 10 copies rotating copies numbered 0-9.
    The file at index 0 has no suffix but is still part of the rotation.

  • The game references the file listed in the -index file.

  • Every 10 minutes, a new copy is created, pushing the oldest out of rotation.

  • There is no distinct "primary" save—whichever file the -index file points to is loaded.

Managing Saves

Transferring Saves:

  • This must be done whilst the game is closed.
  • To share a save, copy the latest world save I.E (3ad85aea-7).
  • Dedicated servers only use Slot 1. Rename a save file to match Slot 1 if needed.
  • Files can be renamed to move them between slots.

Rolling Back to an Older Save:

  • Open the -index file in a text editor.
  • Find the line "latest": X (where X is a number from 0-9).
  • Change it to the desired backup index and save the file.
Additional Notes
  • The -info file contains metadata (like world name) but is not needed for servers.
  • Each player generates their own -info files when creating a world.
  • The latest world save files are what should be transferred.
Ensure you copy all required files when sharing a save. For servers, only Slot 1 is used.

All other crafting materials and pre built blocks are still in storage crates. I don't think the save has issues it's something else. I just can't understand why just this one category of items has been corrupted and nothing else. Guess I am done playing this game. Sure as heck do not want to start over unlocking everything. Its a good game JUST NOT THAT GOOD.

No. but its not the Games fault either, because this isnt the finished done version of it period.

If you want to be early in, you gotta deal with the fact that this is an IN DEVELOPMENT early Acess build, meaning errors CAN and WILL occur during that timeframe, simple as that.

whilst theres still the posibility of errors occuring later down the line aswell. thats just how this process works, people need to get used to the idea that their multi hour worlds mean shit all untill the 1.0 Version is out and even THEN there can be stuff because hopefully we get further development down the line with dlc

Like, yeah it's not a fully realized or finalized product. Things are going to happen and in extreme cases saves may get wiped or progress reset. Look at No Rest for the Wicked, same deal with their next update

I'm just saying like, during The Forest's development process people lost saves like every 3 months. No Rest for the Wicked is releasing an update that will effectively force everyone to start all over again. Like, if you want a stable experience where your progress is safe, EA isn't for you
