Somehow I find it abit sad that it's possible to reset your skill points..
Hear me out.
If you couldn't reset them there would be a way bigger reason to make new caracters and try the game again in a new way. There would be way more hours you could play before you tried it all because you needed to make a new one for each fighting style.
I feel when you have one in max lvl and have enough money to reset skillpoint and seen the word that's it.. for me there is no more game from there.
It's an amazing game and I would love a reason to play it more times but it doesn't really make sense if you have one maxed out.
What do you think?

Hi everyone, I have the following problem: the achievement (Spark of Revelwood) isn't triggering. All shrines except for the Shrine of Flame in the Shimmerstone Mine (which I've activated multiple times) are displayed on the map. Does anyone have the problem/solution?

It's only you. You are allowed to make multiple characters already. If you have a maxed out mage, start a melee character or an archer. Nobody says you can't, but most people want the option of changing skills if they end up not doing what you expected. This isn't like some typical rpg where you are locked into a skillset when you pick a class. Go ahead and try mixing some melee and magic together or throw some beastmaster skills into the mix. It may seem like there are only 3 classes to play(mage, archer, melee), but there are many skill combinations to make gameplay unique. Starting a completely new character just to try out a few different skills would seem a bit silly.

I've been playing pokemon Scarlet. It's not bad, it's not gen 4 but oh well. I missed the shiny rayquaza event a Christmas past, which is sad because I did absolutely nothing for Christmas... however they have the starter pokemon at the moment so people could finally have them in the pokeballs they wanted. There is an event coming soon too, mightiest Garchomp, my favourite pokemon, so looking forward to that.

It's disgusting how many times my dog audibly passed gas with his butt towards me while I typed this... it's definitely on purpose 😕

Depends on the company tbh, to a lot of big investment firms like tencent smaller studios are the "riskier" investments, and their strategy is usually giving them more creative freedom for a bigger potential payoff. It's a pretty common investment strategy, so you'll actually tend to see them be pretty hands off with smaller studios

Hi, hopping into the conversation.
I've also experienced some performance reduction since the december update ( 9,0 GB update). For me i got it to work fluently by reducing shadow from quality to performance. It was a lumen and shader update, hence i figured if the stability issues partially lie there. Reducing the stress by lowering shadow should improve performance. It did, for me @ least. I can play fluent @ 120 fps 3440 x 1440 res and move the second after i teleport.

From other posts i've gathered (Steam) it appears some CPU's are underperforming on Enshrouded. In particular that your core one would be on 100% load when you travel and becomes ''overloaded'' while other cores have plenty left to give.
This would also explain why after the update you could freeze for 10 seconds after teleporting. One core is doing all the loading, heavy lifting instead of 20 to 28 sharing the load.
Could be worth to have a look with HWmonitor or something that checks resources spend if this is also the case for you.
All my cores take increased load when i fast travel so i don't seem to have the issue.

Sadly I don't have a solution other then adding a command on steam to use all available cores. Not sure if that would fix it though.

Yeah, the new update increased performance demands compared to previously, I'd expect it to get smoothed out over the course but for now I'm not aware of any workarounds other than, as you mentioned, reducing some settings like shadows and render distance etc

Like, I'm not aware of adding Steam command lines to change how the game performs

We don't know but that's generally been the pattern. Small update followed by a larger one followed by another small one. The last two were Albaneve followed by the Chinese new year one, so in theory the next one should be pretty meaty

If you have multiple instances of the same block it sometimes adds it to one of the other stacks, just like the plants. You could have say 4000 of the rough stone in one stack and 1000 in the other and when you pick something up it could say you still have a stack of 4000 and the 2nd stack would be 1256 (as if you picked up the 4m #1 option.

Only time i've ever 'lost' anything was when i was planting crops and either i used the "refine position" feature and raised it vertically so it wasnt in the ground it would disappear, then i've had it where i planted a crop in the soil and it disappeared because the soil wasn't wide or deep enough which cause it to be 'destroyed/lost'.

It's all about aesthetic choice and ease of farming the resources needed. In most cases mixing a variety of materials in a thoughtful way ends up being the most attractive option. When everything is the same it gets boring really quick.

My go to is to just find a simple wood/stone pairing that looks good and use that. Either primarily wood with stone foundations and accents, or primarily stone with wood walls and accents

Always have en exit strategy in the shroud. If you get stuck in there and can't get out in time just log out in the shroud and when you re-enter the game you'll be at one of your flame altars. Usually it'll be the last one you visited.

Thats probably the case because if you destroy a building block that you dont have unlocked yet you wont get the recipe from destroying it like you could in the past.

I use the "Regular Stone" block which is unlocked through a quest. It is a decent look and is cheap to craft. Stone x15 for 100 blocks. So to make a full 5000 stack you'll need 750 Stone.

I think I might have figured out why the enemies in the HH attacked even with passive mode turned on.

I went to the first one to get more Ectoplasm but I was smashing pots along the way - something I didn’t do on my first run through. Every now and then I’d smash a pot and then shortly after get the enemy slain notice pop up.

I got into a room hidden by bone rubble, smashed pots, got the enemy slain notice and when I came back out, I was then attacked by the skellies in the area.

I carried on through another couple rooms until I got the ecto I needed but stopped smashing pots and had no more issues. I could be completely off base on this as I’m still pretty new to the game. But the only thing I did differently for each time in the HH was smashing pots. So it seems like there’s maybe something in them that will kill an enemy for you?

If anyone knows what it is, I’d love to know.

you set them with R + RMB that you get all the turning options.

create 1 entire floorheight @ a time like go all the way around.
Then go up 1 floor and increase the tilt of the window and repeat the steps.

Once you fully upgrade your flame altar your altar areas provide frost resist (You will have to kill the final boss in the mountains to do it. I'm not going into it further because i don't want to spoil it for anyone.)

It's in a Early Access phase for a reason, buying the game you agree that it may not be perfect.
No Developer will focus in the best graphics first and foremost, first the gameplay needs to be okay. After everything is "almost" done, they can focus on the graphics being perfect. Inbetween it'd be just a hassle, slowing the entire development until the very end. Actually I feel they strike a balance for both camps

And imagine how much stuff breaks every time if they need everything being "almost" perfectly optimized all the time.
We'd have 1-2 Updates a year at best

I would also like to clarify about one mechanic in the game related to the manufacture of items, let's say I put metal sheets in the forge to be melted and it takes 2 hours to process, will it melt in offline mode so that I don't have to leave the server on overnight? I've had many such situations when I had to wait a very long time and had nothing to do except go to bed, but leaving the computer on is not very good, and standing and doing nothing for 2-3 hours is also not pleasant.

Also, just because you pay for 600 upload/download, doesn't mean you're getting it at that time

From what i've gathered up to this point, Hosting for 4 (or more) is often OK.
We had a few situations where it didn't and it was noticeable that the host's cpu p-core 1 was @ 100% load for extended amounts of time. We would be lagging during that time as well. Like they coincided

He closed the game. rebooted the PC entirely relaunched the game.. issue resolved and his CPU was utilizing all p-cores to divide stress among 28 cores instead of bottlenecking on core 1.

It's been off and on for different people. Some can do 4 hosted with no problems, others have lag, and others can't even move without things rubberbanding. It's been an ongoing thing since one of the updates. They are looking in to it. Always do the troubleshooting steps they give though in sever support because it can be a computer/host issue, but we don't count anything out until it's all been tested.

I hosted with 4 just last night and we were able to play no problem....we hosted with 3 two weeks ago with good connection and it had issues. Sometimes things want to work and sometimes they don't lol

What we experienced is not excactly a cpu issue. We've seen similar issues on other games as well.

he can go into his journal > quests and towards the bottom there is a category called "missed quests" he can activate them (it becomes a personal quest) then he can complete them as normal) and once he places the npc he should get the credit/xp. You might be able just to use the summon stick AFTER he activates that specific quest and do it that way.

anyone know why my plants and trees will sometimes disappear when I plant them? It's annoying.

You need the soil/dirt terain to be deeper. AT least 2 blocks deep minimum

@drowsy ibex @split schooner At least 2 blocks deep AND for bigger items like trees its about 5 wide. Basically you need more soil beneath or around a crop otherwise it disappears. Also if you use the refine position and vertically elevate it it will also disappear as its not 'in' the soil anymore.

don't get me wrong sensei, i've played over 400hrs... this is the only game i've had shader compilation take more than 2 minutes. a quick search online and it plain to see there are many others with this issue. lucky you, you got he golden setup for this game! g'day

Owh i read something about that as well... and 1 fix that seemed to work multiple times

Basicly what the fix was to disable Onedrive cause it was putting the shaders in the OneDrive cloud as well with horrendous upload speeds (throttled by OneDrive).

You can do this before booting up the game.
Through videocard config panel you can manually set refresh rates in general or for individual programs.
I would recommend doing it for a program so you can still watch something on 60 FPS.
Nivdia and AMD have their own config panel. If you're unfamiliar with that, there's plenty of step-by-step guides out there how to config. It might require downloading the config panel from your videocard manufacturer.

There is an option that states: max framespeed on Nvidia which is turned OFF by default. Set it to 30 and you're good to go
