The build contest saved the waiting time for this patch and more than one impatient player was satisfied. I am happy to see all of that building, screens and such.

no matter what, do not preorder. Enshrouded is very much active and social anxiety disorder friendly, so you can play with friends without possibility to chat with them in game. It's very helpful to remain calm. Other games should follow this trend.

Hey everyone, i want to ask if anyone knows something about when the game leaves the early access. I hate when games release for 1 year plus and stays in early access, i always wait till the full release. I have bought it for almost 10 months now i guess? So, do you know when the release will come and how '' not ready '' it is now in compared to the full release?

But we'll see if it does.

And about how "not ready" it is... Well. That's also hard to guess, because we don't know the full scale which the game will have in the end.
In short, because it was that successful devs want to give us more than initially planned.

Enshrouded Server & Character Wipes

As of current writing (6 Febuary 2024) we do not have any plans to force wipes at any time. However, with the Enshrouded being in early access and the fact that a LOT of things will change between now and full release, we cannot guarantee that there may or may not be a major update
that requires old saves to break.

Also being that so much is changing, there is always a chance that an update may break old saves, so we recommend backing up saves regularly that you care about. As this would be something that could be the end of the world for players.

We will do our best to avoid this, and it's not something we're planning intentionally we cannot guarantee this will "never happen" either since there are a lot of unknown variables in the future.

How does the server update when this new update comes out

Does it just update automatically or do I need to start another world

It should restart the server and leave your worldsave intact. They usually do an internal query at certain intervals to check for updates. When one is available, the server loads it from steam just like you do on your own system.

Yes, I am sorry. I may have misinterpreted that. For some reason I assumed he meant rented a server. Most people don't host with their own server, but host a game, or rent a server. Still, my bad.

If you are hosting with your own dedicated server, you will likely have to stop the server and update the software on your hardware. If you host a game that is not dedicated, your game will update as it usually does. In all cases, it should still not affect your world save.

How does the comfort actually work in connection with multiple houses? I've moved my one-house base from the starting area to Fort Kelvin and noticed that in every house I'm having the same comfort amount. Is this even "house depending" or "altar zone depending?" My main question is if I add another altar which connect the main altar build able zone with this one (a flaming house or hunting lodge) would this lead to the same behaviour with the comfort that in both tempel zones is the same comfort? Hope my question here is clear

If i understand your question properly, comfort is altar dependant. If you have overlapping altars, only comfort items in those overlapping areas will work in both 'zones' though i have not personally tested this, just what seems logical.

You don’t lose your rested buff by going to another base with lower comfort value

@heady nexus don't know if it can be edited by now, but for us it got a bit frustrating with the very small amount of altars you can build. like 3-4 players, each having a home and some altars for transportations is really not much, I would double the default amount until we have other way to fast travel

exactly. I do not know if we get more altars with the upcoming level cap increase (25 -> 35) but in the current version it was not enough for our playstyle. obviously that depends on how you play. we usually start at one place as the group and then when the room gets crowded or people want a specific project the split off with an altar (max 1 per person)

I play Pax as well. It is a nice game, we play in a small group. It will take some time to get it to a FR, at the moment it is more like a Alpha. For this the price is steep.
The update is more wipe withe a facelift and less servers. So far it seems they really want to wiht a sub model. I will not go this way. I also have the feeling they will lean to PVP more and this is not my style.
I am willing to give them the benefit of a doubt and play it again after the wipe, we will look for nice place to settle 😉

Yeah, if they would come out say they weren't going to go the sub route I would likely buy the game and patently wait for them to fix it. But if you are going to ask for more money on top of an allready steep price for a game that still feels very "Alpha", no thanks. I have no time for that, especially when other developers in the same genre are already making a vastly superior game and experience while still being in EA.

They already came out and said they were going for MMO sub models, so it's going to be subscription, which makes sense because they are a server game and the sub will pay for the servers (and more cause you know it's not going to be cheap)

That is sadly true. I love Enshrouded so much, this game is a true EA, with nice updates and the feeling they care for their game and for their players. To think it is even much cheaper. With the smallest option in PAX you only get a very small circle of land.
For me it was always a support thing, cause I liked the general idea. And to be honest I thought they had more done and would release those things bit by bit.
So far I would rather recommend Soulmask as a second game, if you are looking. It took me a bit to get into that one, cause you play the mask not the character, but it is nice and hours of fun. It also had 2 large updates and new contend

Yeah, I have Soulmask as well, I liked the whole concept of the game. The Aztec mythos, the masks and leveling, the abilities, the mounts. They came out of the gates into EA pretty strong.

Yes More Flame Altars ore Bigger Flame Altars was the best But i dont think its comming in this update. The problem is that the server stability will unfortunately not allow this until they activate multi-core CPU usage. Currently only 1 core is used and that is not worth it. More altars means more power is needed. As long as there is no adjustment, there will unfortunately be no more flame altars. I would also like it if we had twice the number of altars. Nah lol, and it does get a little confusing because those suggestions are all user submitted. So the internal roadmap/planned features does look fairly different. It's mostly just me and the other CMs marking things as planned/done when we notice that the two line up

Either one would be fine, your saves will update automatically so you won't need to restart. A lot of the content is in the new biome which is more "end game", but there's plenty of other stuff that will be changed/available from the beginning.

('Dedicated server' is the same, wether hosted by you, or on a hosting companys server - its the name for programs that have a separate executable for running a server.

The other alternstive is p2p from within a game.)

Dedicated servers aren't unique to Enshrouded.

If you want others to have access to the server while you're not online then a dedicated server is the way to go. Though you need to decide to host it yourself (which means your PC would need to be on and connected to the internet all the time) or pay a company to host and take care of that.
