Literally can't even see it without risking instant death going down there unless you're using cheats that basically freeze the shrouded timer.

Everything else hidden in the place is logical and cleverly hidden. The helmet however? No. That's just pretty much unfairly hidden as there's no clues that it exists unlike other hidden things, and there's absolutely no point in exploring there because 'instant death glowy stuff' and no resources or etc. Not to mention the fog obscures any hope of seeing the hidden door unless you're like literally down there. So outside of accidentally finding it, the vast majority of people are going to need a guide to find it...

It's honestly fascinating to see how different (And in some cases similar) various cultures cuisines are. Like it's kind of weird that most Asian cultures seem to have a strong affinity for Rice, and so does Mexico, but not many other countries/cultures do much with rice.

Meanwhile Itallian and Greek Cuisines seem to use cheese for a lot of things. Specifically Feta and Parmesan etc.

in a german interview they sayed: ```Enshrouded will probably no longer come to consoles in the early access phase. But then as a full version after the end of this phase. Enshrouded's early access is supposed to last almost a year. That would mean that a release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will not take place until early 2025 at the earliest.

it may be possible to have hexagonal or octagonal structures, and round structures would only be possible if they introduced full assets, like a prebuilt room that is round and you place the entire room down (so the walls, and the floors you put yourself).

it just depends how long the dev team wants to work on it

i would think when the devs introduce blueprinting, these different shapes might become more possible on the roadmap

they have a goal called portal to other servers... reminds me a bit of my core keeper idea. my idea was the player builds a mailing station... so you make a room, you put objects inside the room so the game recognizes the room as a certain type - beds = bedroom etc. but if you put a mailbox and rail system then the game recognizes it as a mailing station. once you setup a mail station, it is synced with your world creation code (so the code that already exists in core keeper for worlds becomes a mailing address) and you can now MAIL other players who have rail stations setup too... if you have their world code/address... so basically instead of visiting servers to share items, you can mail each other notes or items.

Not really? It's not a negative against skill, unless they're ridiculous. In the case of FROM games, the IFrames are used to implement multi-hit-box style attacks, and AoEs more often without penalizing the player, and to allow for faster paced combat.

I feel like the reasoning behind i-Frames is more a nod to actual real world physics. Hit boxes still are computationally expensive, and even mesh based impact fails due to camera angles and shit. It's like the game is saying "YOU may not have been able to perfectly see and time the dodge under the sword by a hair, but your CHARACTER could", you know?

invul during teleport would make sense, it might be the only situation where i'd be okay with an i-frame, but largely its just not needed, to the point where the regular player cant even tell there is no i-frame in a blink - because the blink is so fast and you rarely get hit mid blink anyway. since youd be too fast for enemy attack animation or you'd out range their attack.

The developer literally created this form of multiplayer from watching a bunch of strangers help push a car up a snowy hill in Japan. No one spoke. yeah i just mean, my view of how discord works from running servers and reading discord TOS and getting servers on discovery/published. is that basically you have some moderation requirements to meet. you need 2FA (two factor authentication for all mods) so they need to login with phones. but then you also need to NSFW anything inappropriate and doing that relieves some responsibility of moderation. then there are the basic rules... which can be summed up as: respect safety (no threats), respect privacy (no doxxing), respect space (no spam/evade ignore), respectful content (speaks for itself), and then respect the law (no hacking/illegal activity). at any rate if a 14 year old decides to lie about their age and enter a NSFW channel discord removes repsonibility from you... so long as the channel was NSFW, that was your responsibility to ensure - if you know they are 14 and then still allow them there, that again is your responsibility, but if you never know discord won't care. but yeah discord can remove servers offical status who fail those responsibilities.

new feature - randomly appearing veins on the base of a mountain that, when mined out, can reveal a long buried hallway, maybe with a room at the end, possibly with a shroud infested monster (or even shroud infested ancient) to fight

kind of a random encounter that can be generated, maybe even randomly generated as players mine deeper and deeper into mountains and underground

I've noticed that once you clear a shroud root or elixir well, there is a small area of shroud that remains cleared in that specific area.

i think it would be neat to have phases, where eventually you enter a phase of the game where you can terraform the world a little, turn red ground into water, and also remove shroud. it would have to be some quest phase because players might want to farm the shroud mushrooms for awhile, before the ability to do that goes away.

I've played building games for a while, and even did some of my own unreleased mods back when I used to play Skyrim.

The single biggest issue for me has always been that I end up wanting rooms to look a certain way after I start building them, but nothing fits without having to move and rebuild half the structure.

The whole place is a natural fortress, and it's near mining spots for both clay and copper, along with two scavenger camps for scrap metal.

I always assume that random website X will suffer from a database breach, that they're not properly salting and hashing passwords, and the resulting password-username-email combinations will be bought and sold among hacker groups for whatever the going price of a decent gaming PC happens to be.

Spam filters are good enough that I don't really need to worry about my email, but assume whatever password you use is going to be pwned. Don't re-use the same password across multiple sites.

Honestly, I have an intense hatred for 2fa.

What it really achieves is making sure that if someone re-uses the same password across multiple sites, and a hacker gets hold of that password through a breach on some random site you haven't logged into for the past five years, and they try the password-email combo they found at your bank, it'll send a 2fa notice and not let them log in.

If you're following proper password management practices in the first place, 2fa does basically nothing for security except inconvenience people who will get zero benefit from it.

The real benefit is making sure negligent users don't suffer the consequences of their own bad practices.

Even with really crude automation, it's trivial to identify patterns in how people create their passwords, and then test some different combinations. Also, the biggest threat to your account isn't some CIA level superhacker that's throwing an entire data center at you in particular.

It's cybercriminals who either want to steal from you directly, or use your account to promote crypto scams and hopefully rip off your grandma to the tune of a few thousand.

They're gonna use prior data breaches to their fullest extent, to try and nab as many accounts as possible.

You'd be amazed how many passphrases can be broken with a few 2080 Supers within a few hours/days using hashtables. If your password is truly random with unusual special characters you're probably safe.

12 character ASCII from a password generator is good enough TBH.

You can use a password manager (ideal), or a text file in an encrypted folder (less ideal), or even just a password book in your drawer (will at least protect you from hackers). The key is to make every single password absolutely and truly 100% unique and random, so there's no "acceleration" in the solving time from dictionary attacks or prior data breaches.
