Shortbow = lower range and minimal ability for eliminating fodder enemies. They also consume significantly more ammunition which is often to the detriment of the user.

Why would you play an archer to engage in mid-close range combat? Especially when there are no dodge style moves unlockable.

Encounters for archers using shortbows basically require cohorts. When you're standing in range of the bow, you're also in range of the enemy aggro.

Mainly because melee just arc directly in front of you. You can't aim up or down. That's a real problem. They need to increase the hit box to include a little above and below your arc radius not just directly in front of you

ok I probably just found the best place for farming shroud spores. It's a Shroud Root cave northwest of the Nomad Highlands Spire. Once you kill the shroud root the enemies just keep spawning from this one alcove off to the right each time you approach it

Sparks respawn, not a big deal for those. Unfortunate, though you can replace them rather easily. You can farm them in the level 25-30 areas and they drop 4 at a time.

I'd suggest you run a little further ahead than you've been doing and do jump attacks to grab agro off as many as possible before they run past you. Have to adapt to the bug until they fix it.

As long as you stay out of an area for 30 minutes it should respawn. You can relog and it will reset all chests, sparks, enemies including bosses. Just remember it might dump you back at your main base.

The game makes backups now, however if you really want to, you can make a copy of your save folder somewhere else and replace it in case something goes wrong.

What you do is make a backup of that local save file folder, copy the whole thing to a safe place on your drive. If something goes wrong, replace the save folder with the one you safely stored.

I agree, but more for the reason that there are so many different languages with different use cases. The core of any programming language does not change that quickly. Unis should nevertheless focus on teaching important concepts and don't go into too much detail for particular languages

I've always been against level caps in any game but this is a low level cap that felt really dumb to have even before new updates come along.

Now there's a new thing in the game that is effectively pointless for me to do unless I wait for the level cap to get increased in the next major update.

So there's a pie that looks delicious but if I eat it it will taste of nothing unless I wait 5 months for an arbitrary level cap to increase

And yes, a max level makes sense in your case. Otherwise you would go with level 30/35 against enemies level 25 and complain it is too easy.

In games where level-caps are high or unlimited. Being an incredibly overpowered character is a reward for building up your character. Making that a challenge is the greatness of games like this.

Arbitrarily limiting that is basically putting a wall in front of my progression in favor of... What exactly? I want to level up my character, I want to progress, and the progression is being halted by a brick wall that's impossible to get over.

This isn't an MMO where level-caps are warranted thanks to PvP elements. This is a PvE co-op/singleplayer game. If I want to be busted with every skill I should be allowed to do that with enough grind. It's up to the game designers to make it difficult. Level caps are a cop-out and a really lame way to limit it. It deletes any reward for any action you make.

I couldn't disagree more with this tbh, it's the challenege of having X amount of skillpoints and seeing what you can CREATE not obliterate. Because it's in human nature to appreciate and try harder when somethings a challenge. Often we'll get bored when we kill things like nothing, call it accomplished, and move on.
This design forces you to get creative, reroll skills, adjust gear, try different play styles and find your perfect fit. Not like you can't jsut reroll into another class for 10 runes.

Yeah kinda a fundamental principle of game design in general (not just videogames, but all games) is that restriction creates opportunity for players to get creative, challenge themselves, grow, etc.

I mean not to say that we won't raise the level cap, because we definitely will at some point, just that restrictions are there for a reason. It's not a mistake or devs just trying to mess with you lol, restriction creates depth.

Yeah I mean currently a max level fully geared character can pretty easily do all the content in the game, infinite scaling beyond that would honestly just be a somewhat useless time sink tbh.

I can definitely understand wanting more content, which we'll definitely be added over the early access with more updates, but uncapping things so players could just keep "making number go up" would probably honestly just cause burnout more than anything. I think you'd have a much better time in the long run just taking a break and enjoying the new content when it arrives, rather than trying to force content where there is none.

I feel like in an RPG if I want to spend 20 hours making my character batshit insane. I should be allowed to do that.

New content has been added but with it, players like me who already hit max level, have absolutely zero reason to play it because they're stuck at max level.

I'm planning on just turning off the dedicated server I have and coming back when the level cap has been raised. Because doing those dungeons will not be fun to me if I'm both overleveled and unable to progress. One of them is fine, but both is an anticlimactic boring-fest.

That does make sense, though it would sorta break our content release path if we did something like that... Or we'd like need to retroactively remove it with a major update or something, which would probably feel bad.

For example with our latest major update, if players were able to be level 50 or something before this update even released, then all the new Hollow Halls content would be completely trivialized the moment they installed the update. They'd be way too overpowered. That would probably be way more boring or frustrating than the issue you're referring to.

strangely despite Enshrouded in my eyes being just "Better Valheim" the progression in Valheim might be managed better with this progressive release. As 90% of the progression is tied to the regions. Making the "level cap" in effect the effective content released, and not a literal level cap. But they have uncapped level skills like mining and stuff.

I would suggest an experiment of allowing an unlimited level cap on dedicated servers via basically a checkbox. But everyone would turn it on and, if you're right, then players would stop playing.

The game isn't preventing you from doing anything. YOU'RE the one that's putting issues in your own way for playing the game. The game has more than enough avenues to combat any and all excuses you've used so far.

MMOs have level caps. Skyrim doesn't.
