Two things to check, first, turn on vsync in game— I find that with vsync off, clips will lag with halfsword.

If it's still persisting after that, Check your medal settings and look for the "encoding path", and change it.

A temporary fix at the moment is to lower/disable the blood and gore in the game settings, and it should fix it!

decompile the game and remove vertex paint

you wont have gore, but the fatal errors will stop

in all seriousness, you basically just have to use the gentle gore preset and pray that the game doesnt crash the few times gore does appear when the corpses despawn
