As a person who works in the software industry, in the communications field, I can give you my experience with feedback.

Where I work we have an Enhancements Submissions tool, where customers feedback is added to the list when they want a new feature, or for something to improve. It gets voted on internally, and with enough votes, something makes its way to the Dev team for consideration.

I presume Halfsword works in a similar fashion. They have someone who reads the feedback channel, filters out the noise and brings things that they believe the Dev team would consider looking at. The Devs themselves do not hear you. But there is likely someone who is listening, and deciding what is worth the devs time to pay attention to.

In the end, no, complaining does not get you anywhere. Only valid, well though out ideas that are spoken with some level of true understanding get attention. And only those submitted through the proper channel (feedback-bug-reporting). So chat in halfsword-chat does not get considered by anyone with any authority.
