pretty much depends on which angle the attack comes from

if overhead, autoblock/parry makes your sword much more sensitive to sideways movements

and makes vom tag pretty much impossible to hold without a lot of precision

so if the opponent is holding/priming an overhead attack you'll notice your sword goes sideways much easier

i redirect the overhead since ukenagashi is often better than any kind of direct clash or intentionally hard contact

I’ve been trying to get the hand of this counter to leg or lower cuts too, but the longsword I prefer most doesn’t have a whole lot of hand guard to catch it and pull the blade up reliably
