I think it's very mitten dependent. Before I got my own gloves, I was borrowing a pair of those shoukat mittens, and I could barely move in them even though they were the right size for me. I got a pair of SparringGlove long cuffs for myself and they're a lot more dexterous than most other gloves I've tried.
