That's understandable, it gives weight to the character, which from what I've seen anyways, they can't really make it as much as responsive, it's all active ragdolls and animations mixed with the controls, probably if there is alot more animation, which would be alot of parameters if you account for the many movements Willie had to do, would be too unrealistic for the team, let alone even an AAA studio, atleast that's how i understand half swords active ragdoll physics works, like a mix of procedural animation and other techniques to give you this creature named willie.

i heard a reason for this not long ago

western swordfighting didnt die out because gunpowder came along, it died out because as commoners we care little for tradition, the upper classes get to worry about that while we just survive

in japan they take tradition very seriously, swords were passed through generations and the recipient was expected to practice with it and read any related literature and manuals they had, and they did so so as not to shame their family

we dont have that kind of culture here, so swords were replaced by guns, and then we forgot how to use swords

some manuscripts still exist, but there isnt nearly as much coverage as there is of Japanese Kendo

I think the real sad part is that there still were some EXCEPTIONAL European swordsmen all the way into the napoleonic era, but the art kinda died in those theatres, and in the trenches of WW1, I suppose.

if you know how to do the kinda twirly motion from high guards for parries thats where it shines

idk the actual term for it, but basically where youd have the point facing upwards/outwards, and suddenly drop it to one side as the enemy attacks to let it glance and slide off to one side of your shoulder, while you complete the motion and come back with a strike over the shoulder

It's the final boss which has many people already, I just spawned in the goliath as my personal body guard via the HS enhancer mod

Yeah, It's because of the plug-in they're using for the blood which will be replaced hopefully with an in-house one

Glad to hear its getting replaced because it never crashed like this on Playtest and I have no interest in paying for the game if it crashes like that in the main game (understand its a beta but its a downgrade from the playtest thst never did that )
