Also, kicking moves you forward. Sprint+kick increases velocity further, so you can combine kicks with strikes to hit even harder.

A sprint/kick+left hook is my opening move for any 3rd person peasant fight

It’s rly hard to tell where your kick will land. Quite a bitharder than judging the alt-stab with spears or pitchforks, I’d say.

Stabbing could use a bit of work in general (knives could be more useful as a sidearm vs heavy armor) and the ability to more accurately aim kicks would be fun as well

There’s a particular move I used irl a couple times where you hs and hook their neck, then turn and throw them to the ground. Ingame it’s usually a failed stab, but still super satisfying to pull off!

There are lots of ways you could go. I enjoyed boffers as a kid (basically put a pool noodle on a pvc pipe. Using coins as weights allows you to get pretty accurate-feeling weapons.

You could look into the SCA for fencing or armored stick fighting, or Buhurt for real (dulled) blades.

Or find a college nearby and go LARPing with the nerds - I promise you’ll have fun!

My family was involved in all except Buhurt, at one point or another. All are a good time.
