To be honest when the game fully comes out I would like to work on a mod that turns the game into a gritty fantasy multiplayer game.

Imagine trying to fight goblins, skeletons, orcs any kind of fantastical creature but with physics and brutality of this game.

I can already imagine a goblin shanking my wizard teammate as I grab a another goblin with one hand by the neck and gut him with a rondel in desperation.

It really does come with time. Just keep it up and enjoy the silliness and gore while you get the hang of things.

Then you can start really getting it down.

Turn your sensitivity down so your weapon feels a bit easier to control. The sword follows your mouse so try to envision the path of it.

Hold shift to widen your stance and move more athletically - you can be pretty generous with this one.

You can start by doing the bottom 3 tiers which have less going on than the higher armored tiers. If the weapons are giving you trouble - do fist play for a while to get the hang of what moving around feels like and what your hands do.

You can always hang out with the training dummy and swing at it a bunch to try and get a feel to.

The game is very fun and rewarding, and eventually can be as difficult or easy as you want it to be.

The velocity of your attack relative to the velocity of the npc determines how much damage it does...roughly, at least that's how I understand it.
I suppose if they are grabbing you it might make the dynamic a bit unpredictable.

To expand, when I say intuitive I mean like with the gurgling.

I just learned to actually do it, without actually killing myself.
My very first attempts when I started voicd acting years ago as a hobby were basically just gargling, not really choking sounds, but I was able to get the water further back into my throat without gagging (though the gagging sometimes adds to it)

And with the new sounds I did, I have an extra layer on top to represent the fact there's a hole in the throat.

I also tested what it'd be like without the stamina, and since I'm out of practice, this is my nicest dual wielding brave stand.. which, I feel isn't too bad looking 😛

Who's Willie in the in lore universe?

In the Steel Woodsman universe, there's not really a "Willie", though.. just a guy that looks like him, who (for now) is only known as The Steel Woodsman

The lore I've made for him so far, is he is a woodsman that makes axes/crafts wood, who's had his family slaughtered by the tyranical king, known as Lord War

That's true.. it was more of a design choice, since I wanted each character to "not really look like Willie", but also have their own armor sets
