The spiked spear isn’t that hard to fight with longsword. I use half sword grip, low until in range and violently raise my sword to throw their spear up. It tends to clip me, but I can get in close and saw them back and forth with my half sword

Thrusts are only really effective if you get a 2-3 step head start into it. Also consider using the alt-thrust when half-swording or doing alt stances

Stabbing Advice 🔪

When stabbing with alt (with swords), pull your weapon in closer to your body as opposed to extending your elbow out. It's much more accurate and stable.

Alternatively If it's a two handed weapon it is recommended to hold right click first, then drag your mouse to aim the weapon. Then from there double click and hold left mouse (you can try alt a little as well but clicking is more stable)
This is a much more stable and accurate stabbing pose, and a proper halfsword thrusting stance.

To practice your aiming, there's two different ways you can keep your FOV.
Third Person- with Low FOV, so you get a closer view.
or alternatively;
First Person- with High FOV, so you get a wide view of your weapon and it's positioning.

In my 5 hours of gameplay, I have knocked myself out against the training dummy, stepped on a sword and lost a foot, won a fight by being the last person to bleed out, cut a man in half with spear, fought a guy hopping around on one leg with one arm like the black knight (monty python), and escaped the bounds of the ring by being kicked over it.

10/10 most fun I had goofing around with fancy pokey sticks.

They grab you and don’t let go, if ur lucky you will get a bot that doesn’t do it at all or will let go instantly, if they grab the arm area I’ve noticed u can get out easily. It's fun, but I think the balancing in this game is alot of fun esl in full armor combat and your dude is bleeding out but you still up cuz you him and the enemy is debilitated so hard to where all he can do is yell "sire please give me mercy"

I think I'm starting to get the hang of polearms. It's a stark contrast to how the longsword feels and handles, but I actually think I like polearms more.
