Bug: Stuck on gore selection menu. When booting up the game nothing happens when making a gore selection.
Solution: Clean reinstall

Delete all files relating to the half sword playtest existing in your local files. Be sure to back up your screenshots folder if you took any!
Navigate to and delete the Half Sword Playtest folder located in the following directory.
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common
Navigate to and delete the Saved folder located in the following directory.
C:\Users<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\HalfSwordUE5

Finally, reinstall Half Sword Playtest.

I use the short spear and shield, 'cause ironically one handed has more control. You hold it with left click, then rapidly double click to stab. only stab when the point is facing the direction you like. Every 6 stabs out of 10 are misses, naturally. three of them are stabs to arms or legs, which due to pain, tends to make them surrender if you twist them around tryin' to yank the spear out. Only one is fatal, to head or torso.

They're interesting, a lot of the time the best thrusts are from not mouse movement, but from shifting weapon grips

That first clip in the red shirt is a hand swap stab, the second is me snapping the halberd up with thrust stance

Actually thrusts can be good, but they're iffier

If you want to practice stabs, I find the longswords are the smoothiest at it, and spears are the deadliest.

With normal thrusts, I can of like to use them as a mix of blocking stance, a chance for enemies to stab themselves, and then I'll also go for a stab if the enemy seems particularly vulnerable to them

And with longswords specifically, thrusts transition super well into cuts

Like with that shield guy. He's lower range than I am, and has a shield, so I'm just fending him off and waiting for him to open up

With torso armor thrusts are less reliable so I go for a slash kill after that initial thrust

If you need to stab and they have a breast plate, second best target (with a spear) is usually the groin/thighs

perfectly isn't really a thing. But the best tip is that it's easier to move enemies by their legs and arms than it is their torso. The best ones I've pulled off had been grabbing a leg and an arm

Grappling is easy on the other hand... you just grab with one hand then attack with a one-handed weapon or kicks
