Here's why I use alt

You can quickly present the point from almost any stance by simply holding alt, and this allows you to quickly follow up with a super fast stab.

Holding alt also makes Willie scared of you, and he'll be hesitant to approach you aggressively. Good for spacing and getting breathing room.

I don't have too much issue with them, but you have to mix them in between cuts. The double click hits high because the sword starts high when you use it, alt stabs low because holding alt all the way and letting it settle into the stance, puts it low down. If you time your alt stabs, you can aim em anywhere you want.
