Does anyone know what’s wrong with the bots? I pin a message that I send, and like 60 messages later, in the middle of chatting, the bot gives a response to that pinned message even though it was like 60 messages ago and ignores the current message.

its likely there is a limit, but its probably a limit so big that it'd be surprising if soemeone gets up to the limit

there seems to be a bug where pins after reaching a limit of tokens (the things that are used for memory and what the bot generates) with pins, it just... completely breaks the bots memory and text generation

See if you can unpin and delete the messages referring to the pin and type again to see if it fixes. If not, remove all the pins to clean up the context window, type/spam several messages later to refresh the window for the bot and just pin messages that are short and keep it under 6 and so. Its the methods that worked for me personally

There are just so many phrases that they repeat over and over again, and there's literally nothing you can do to stop it because, I'm sure, it's hardwired into the bot's dataset along with all the temperature and sampling tweaks they have that adjust the bots' responses...

That's literally not it. All my character come close or meet the 3200 character limit for their definitions and they all use different variations, including emulating conversations. They still poop out "can I ask you a question?" and all that nonsense.

Nope, not even close. It does help to stave it off, but it doesn't stop it. I've discussed this with a lot of other creators on Reddit and we've all come to the same consensus. This is most likely happening because of the dataset and settings for the bots themselves, not because of anything the users are doing.

I know the creator of the bot, however with the way cai is, I obviously can't contact them through the site. Before I ask if anyone here is the creator, I'd like to know if asking that is even allowed. I don't want to do something inappropriate or anything. Also, I'd like to clarify, I just want to speak to the creator to see if they remember anything about the character, if they have it set to private... or if they'd be willing to... I guess export? the character... If they feel uncomfortable with me using the character, or recreating the bot, that's fine, I just want to ask.

This is a very late response but I hope this will help, I'd suggest being extremely proactive when it comes to suggesting how close they really are

One of my favorite things to do is to lock down the space, keep it close quarters, and not give the bots any idea that I'm beyond a few steps at any given point unless completely necessary

(E.g knocked across a room)

the flaw with this however is that ranged fights tend to be rather underwhelming.

So every time I talk to a character it describes what they are doing, unlike what I saw on TikTok where the characters just talk without specifying what they are doing @long talon

For example, I saw someone on TikTok talking to Bakugo, so I also tried and instead of talking normally, it described to me the actions that Bakugo does

Some bots are created with the idea of basic dialogue, however others are made with roleplay in mind since AI is surprisingly good at back and forth

I'd suggest looking for one of the many early bots, or creating your own with a rough description or be more detailed with the help from creators in #1193330096342319186 and related channels from getting the character creator role in #👥︱self-roles

As for you @heavy tinsel, bots are usually shadowed after certain offensive words, actions or anything in that grey area and wide array within the tos are found and reported by overly sensitive nerds with nothing better to do.

Character isnt profitable rn so pumping up the numbers is good. It also helps to appease to new investors (since Google yoinked their previous ones)

They have also shifted their focus from being a serious rp-oriented platform to a social media-esque/texting-oriented platform after releasing the app. So you end up getting a lot of brainrot, gen alpha stuff.

The whole editing thing occured last year. Its been lifted but deleting characters and them going down along your accounts should you disable it is not possible.

Well, I would say that Crunchyroll went on a better route since they are currently the Google of anime, with the acquisition of Funimation + Award shows (so they're big in the anime scene)

They prioritize on making changes that suit the community leaving their competitors, and don't make the same mistakes

They are constantly updating their site to suit needs, they are listening to community, they communicate issues in a clean clear and timely manner on their main platforms and provide updates where necessary

Hey. I have just noticed that, sometimes, when you click on a photo of a character while you're in the website (I've only tried on PC), a "profile" page about the character pops up. I've tried it with some of the characters I often chat with, and with a few of my own; some of them do have this page (a few of them having a custom "About" tab to the right and some example messages) while others simply redirect you to the home page. One of my characters do have a custom "About" tab with example messages, but I do not recall making it.
Is there a certain way I can customize this page, or is it automatic or something? Thanks in advance. :)

well, the way the bot works with pins is that it applies memory into a long term sorta corner, like the definition. Issues, pins dont have proper limitations and the way they work is that they subtract from the primary memory of the primary chat.

Using all your pins erases all the memory from the bot and overrelies them on the pins exclusively, which can break the bot responses. I'd be wary of how much you shove in each pin and how many pins you use, my general rule of thumb for people is to keep it five pins or less with not really long messages per pin, which gives plently of context for your bot and enough context for it to properly respond to you.

If yall do get the character creator role, you actually get access to the creator channel, in which there is a pinned message that is for creator tidbits and helpful information, which gives you a good rule of thumb on what to pin and what not to. guys i had a quick question, i was wondering if C.AI's text to speech model is public or a closed source model they trained, and if closed source if its based on a open source model??
i just find the text to speech really immserive considering i cant get realistic emotions in the voice after training a voice on a 10 minute dataset in tortoise

There's a whole bunch of stuff we dont know about when it comes to c.ai. And it doesn't seem like with any training data you give it can offer it to make predictive data that is more emotional or filled with tone. it just keeps the same consistent voice that it collected from that data, and even if you give it ten minutes full of files and info, in reality the AI only analyzes a tiny portion of that data, like about 15 seconds to capture the accent and voice. It can't really replicate emotions.

And this is all in mind if you are using a voice that follows the voice guidelines, therein being that it is from a consenting party.

dw im following voice guidelines, and btw the thing is the voice im giving it has a really specific tone and emotion ( kind of ASMR with accent ), but still it cloned it so well ngl if you asked me to tell which one is real and which one is text to speech i may not be able to tell ( well sometimes there are some kind of artifacts in the voice that give it away if you know what i mean but overall its indistinguishable )

You can only edit the most recent message by yourself or the bot. So if you're trying to edit a message past that threshold it wont be available. You'll either have to deal with it or rewind back to that point (which will loose progress.)
