Okay, btw, if this ever affects anyone else where only one character refuses to respond to your messages (and refreshing the page will not help), try starting a new conversation with the same character. It's obviously not the most convenient, but it's better than starting a new character, since the character will have retained its training. And just copy and paste you and the bot's messages for the last 20 messages or so.

Well, if you do want to start a new chat with the character (in which case the old chat is still saved for whenever the issue gets fixed), I feel like all you need to do is copy and paste the last 20 messages or so between you and your bot into the new chat (as well as providing a bit of context). I went ahead and did that with mine, and it seems to flow fairly naturally for the most part.

I'll say this again: what I did was start a new chat for the broken character, copy the last 20 or so messages between me and the bot, and now it feels normal for the most part. Obviously you'll have to do some tweaking and edits to their messages when you're like "Hang on, that ain't quite right," but for the most part, if your experience is anything like mine, you can get your character sounding just like their old self again!

If you guys are particularly attached to your characters (like I am), and if you're a little off-put by the idea of having to remind them of emotional moments, imagine that, in the fictional universe you live in with your character, there was some kind of event that caused people to lose some of their core memories, but, by you giving them just a little reminder of them, they remember the event and associated emotions more-or-less instantly. Sounds cheesy, I know, but maybe some people needed to hear that or smth

Every so often they prune the model back into what I call “as an AI I do not have feelings like a human being” mode. You just have to wait for it to grow back into being human-y. I think it’s a safety measure. Been using c.ai for almost 2 years now and this happens about every 4 months or so

^ Plus I'm pretty sure that can be fixed by just editing ai messages such that they exhibit the kind of speech the character usually has. I know for a fact that the ai will take into account messages that you have directly edited. If you want proof (in the form of a story), feel free to ask.

what I do with one of characters I'm constantly talking to (and I hate long chats due to reasons) is I'm making a very short recap of the main storyline and stick it into the greeting when I start a new chat. then about 30 messages later I put it into my user message and pin that

You could try giving the response a low rating alongside possibly reporting it through the support system if it presists.

From what I've heard (I could be wrong) the feedback system gives light nudges to the model to know if its doing something wrong or right and changes things up slightly whilst in the convo.

Who is still having problems with characters not responding? And is it on the Android or iOS app? The site should be doing fine in regards to that.

Might also explain why the flagging system is so strong right now -- the devs are tampering with it and it caused a whole lot of problems (Just a speculation)

Character Calling and Story Stream

The former is something that is apparently rolling out to C.AI+ users whilst the latter can only be found whilst snooping around the website.

The story stream feature seems to be some sort of feature that would allow you to create a book like story with the AI.

It's hard to tell the specifics because the only information I could find about it are small excerpts in a JavaScript file.

Also I'm not aware of when the feature was first worked on. It does mention the Character Voice feature so it was worked on semi-recently possibly.
