Clicking on the gear icon brings up the standard discord settings.
I've looked through the github issues and found nothing on the open ones, but two closed ones, which were closed because they were duplicates (?).

For some reason on Vesktop, any screen sharing I try to do ends up extremely choppy - regardless of settings, the viewer sees a slideshow. This does not happen on regular Vencord, and this happens on both Linux (CachyOS) and windows. It also happens to a friend of mine. I have enabled Hardware Acceleration and Video Hardware Acceleration in the settings, but this still didn't fix my issue. Can anyone help?

[NixOS Xantusia unstable, wayland with sway WM] whenever I try to stream on vesktop it skips the stream selection window and goes into the thing where your windows have a pale overlay except for the one you're hovering over (if it was working this would select the window to stream I think), except it crashes when you click and the terminal throws this pipewire error. Using the official package, it brings up the stream selection window but the same window selection thing (notably it only works per monitor even if in window selection mode) and works to stream. It looks a lot like a pipewire/wayland thing but I have no clue where the issue lies specifically

I'm on hyprland, and I can't make the vesktop window smaller than a certain point for some reason. It either doesn't allow it at all, or, after changing the window rule of vesktop to min_size = { 100, 100 }, it completely bugs out if I resize it to be smaller than what it normally allows.
I'm not sure if this is a hyprland specific issue, or if this is an issue for all electron based apps, but I was wondering if there was a fix for this behavior

Heya yall! I've been using vesktop for the past month or so and its going great. But I'm having an issue with my audio, specifically when screensharing:
My speaker audio starts off fine, but over time gets more and more crackly and i experience random glitchy sounds. This only happens when I'm screensharing, and when I stop my audio is perfectly fine. That also means that if I just stop and start it will go back to normal, but again, that's only a temporary fix, as it will gradually get more and more crackly.

My friends say they can't hear any of it, only I can. Which is also odd.
I'm on bazzite linux, using gnome. It's also worth noting that I experienced this on other operating systems I tried previously too, like zorin, nobara, etc. I've tried flatpak, rpm, and now appimage versions of vesktop and the same issue occurs. Perhaps it's my soundcard that it doesn't like... but this is the only app where this happens, everything else about my os works fine with sound.

I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff, so if anyone could please help that would be lovely!

Not using flatpak for the vesktop install.
Getting this error recently when attempting to screenshare on KDE (KDE Plasma 6.6.5 with KWin (Wayland)) :

xdg-desktop-portal 1.20.4-1.1 is installed along with xdg-desktop-portal-kde 6.6.5-1.1

After reading troubleshooting checks just to see if I'm missing anything, I've come to the conclusion that I have met all requirements for this to work.
Additionally, I've tried capturing my screen with other software, in this case being OBS, and encountered no issues. I also tried the browser as well which also worked with no issues.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be version specific. I tested vesktop 1.6.5 down to 1.6.3 (via the Appimages) and encountered the same issue.

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

I have an issue with vesktop and microphone on linux.
Pipewire has a "feature" that makes the microphone reduce its gain on its own when it gets too loud, to the point that the volume gets too low. And it's really boring.
There is actually a way to prevent this, using a script (found it here ) But the example is for the original discord client and it doesn't seem to work with Vesktop.
When I'm on vocal on discord and do pactl list source-outputs I see it listed with lots of usable properties. (the process binary seems to be just called electron) But none of them seem to work. I tried with application.process.binary = "electron" and application.name = "Chromium input" but none changed anything.
And yet I know it works for the rest. as when I did it for a game, using application.process.binary = "wine64-preloader" it worked like a charm.
Did someone found the workaround for this?

Is there a way on Linux to prevent duplicate audio while streaming? Like every few minutes it just plays a duplicate of the streamed audio on top of itself for half a second or so. It's been a bit annoying but also the regular discord app only shares my entire system audio and not specific application audio.

Having a few issues with streaming and watching streams

  • Watching streams
    • Streams randomly don't load for me specifically until the streamer restarts, other people can see it just fine
    • Streams will stutter between frames at random. Only I see this, other people see smooth video with no stutter. Video is included of this occurring.
  • Streaming
    • Audio will randomly spike in volume for about a third of a second. Only I perceive this, viewers of the stream hear no such audio volume spike.
    • Audio crackles and pops will begin to occur after a long while of streaming. Only I perceive this as well, other people viewing the stream do not hear these crackles and pops in the audio.
    • My mic will randomly peak for other viewers. This happens very infrequently but I can confirm this isn't a hardware issue as I've tried a few different microphones and tried on my laptop as well, mic peaks still rarely occur.
    • I haven't CONFIRMED if it's a memory leak yet but there is potentially a memory leak. After streaming for prolonged periods of time, games and other applications as well as discord itself will start to lag a little. Eventually, all audio from discord will cease entirely, and the app will freeze up, before turning gray and staying like that until i refresh.

I'm using the latest version of Vesktop, and I've noticed that the Vesktop display is somewhat blurry (as listed in the Troubleshooting section of the Vesktop wiki). The problem is that the solution only works for Linux users, but I'm using Windows 11. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi all, I've been using Vesktop for a long time and I love it, but I recently added a second account and now I keep getting logged out of whichever account I wasn't actively using whenever I shut my laptop. I already toggled the NoDevToolsWarning plugin and it doesn't seem to have fixed anything. Every time I reopen my laptop I get a loading screen on vesktop and I have to close and reopen it, once it reopens I'm logged out of one of the accounts and I have to readd it. Is this a known issue? Should I make an issue on the GitHub? It's incredibly frustrating to have to log back in to either account every time I open my laptop.

On Windows 10, an issue occurs where - if you share your screen with audio via Vesktop - the voices of other members in the voice chat can be heard in the stream itself. This problem does not occur when using the standard Discord client. Is there any way to fix this error?

Hey guys! Just noticed a little something. This issue doesn't seem to be reported in #1257025907625951423 or GitHub issues yet.
OS: Arch Linux
DE: GNOME 50
Client: Vesktop, latest version (flatpak installation)

Having this option (first attached screenshot) enabled results in inability to move popped out stream window around, it has neither Electron's title bar or native one. The only way to move popped out window is by resizing it (second attached screenshot).

Have the exact same issue as this person, on Linux Mint and on the latest version of Vencord. When selecting an audio source for streams it just selects everything with no possibility to deselect items individually, it's all or nothing. This makes streaming basically unusable. Had to fall back on using regular old discord for screensharing, where it worked without issue. Not sure what the deal is.
