is the arrpc implementation included with vesktop up to date? some older games are detected and shown on my profile but pragmata isn't detecting. arrpc's detectable program list was updated to include it so it should work if the aarpc implementation included in vesktop is up to date. i'm on windows 10.

also arrpc does work on windows, it just requires the wmic cli tool which apparently isn't included on newer versions of windows by default and has to be installed manually through the "optional features" settings.

Bug: if you are signed into 2 accounts, you have "Relationship Notifier" on, you have a server currently open, and then you use the bottom left corner buttons to switch from one account to the other, you get a Relationship Notifier message saying you got removed from the server you have open

Hi! Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm having some trouble with Vencord. The program works great on the main user profile I first installed it on, which is my father's, since he had a Microsoft account first. When I created my own account, and later tried to install Vencord, it didn't work. More specifically, it gave me the error, "Cannot patch because Discord's files are being used by a different process." What should I do to fix this?

i can no longer hear notifications (normal pings and same channel notifications) when the "Enable Desktop Notifications" setting is toggled off

Alright, I fixed the settings problem. First I enabled the tray icon through the settings file. Then I clicked the repair button, but that completely broke Vesktop. So I removed the settings folder completely and started ‘from scratch’, which did fix it.

Sometimes Vencord might break or crash and make it impossible to update via normal means. Here's how to fix it!

Discord Desktop

Use the Repair button in the installer. You will not lose your Vencord or Plugin settings.

Vesktop

Right click the vesktop tray icon > Repair Vencord.
If you don't have a tray, you can run the following script in devtools (ctrl + shift + i, then click on the console tab and paste):

Hello, I came across this feature request from ~ July, 2024 which expresses my pain points (issue 2). I note that the ticket is closed - but I was wondering whether an alternative solution might be suitable.

Second: when selecting an item in "Audio Sources" and "Exclude Sources", the menu doesn't close automatically, which, in my opinion, is not what the average user would expect. It doesn't close automatically because it's possible to select multiple sources, but there's no indication on the UI that this is possible. Additionally, most users will just choose "Entire System" instead of choosing a specific app if they want to share system audio.

I think a good solution might be to render the dropdown field at somewhere between 50-75% of current width so that it sits inline with the action buttons, rather than spanning the full modal. E.g. then single source audio selectors can just press the [Go Live] button, bypassing the +1 click UX frustration.

i think the first link may be the fix because afaik theres no "installer" for linux. it broke for me using the AUR version whilst it also broke for Dashrabbit and Balatrojackusing flatpak so i think it is just a general discord thing that has to be repaired somehow from time to time. same thing happens on betterdiscord too

Anyone know how to solve this? Screenshare crashes my entire client after an hour or so. Hardware acceleration disabled and crash reports aren't very clear on what's causing it. Ruled out window managers as switching from Hyprland to Niri doesn't seem to mitigate the issue.

hello! i've been using vesktop for a while and everything was going great up until a few days ago (can't remember exactly when it happened) when audio from embedded videos and voice messages were muted
vcs work fine, i can hear output and give input, but i can't hear what i said prior

Having error doing screen share on vesktop. both flatpak and binary version exhibit the same issue.

VC works, watching other streams work, screen sharing shows teh select source screen, then when selecting monitor or window, rather than moving on to the next screen where i used to select audio source and resolution never opens. Instead the screen recording desktop icon shows briefly and then closes.

Has anyone else seen this? or have suggestion on info to use to report the info to the github properly?

Out of curiopsity.... @runic grotto Can you try disabling all your plugins then re-enabling them?

I disabled all my plugins to try and see if it was one of them. streaming started working. Reenabling plugins one at a time resulted in them continuing to work, even the FakeNitro plugin that i enabled ages ago for funsies and i thought might be messing with things, but even reenabling that one had streaming still work....

yeah. just swapped to my laptop and checked that. it had the default plugin loadout, verified it was still borked. then i enabled fakenitro, just because. restarted vesktop and now screen share is working again.... I re-disabled the plugin and yeah... fixed.

I did a vencord repair and that seems to have resolved the issue on its own for me without even messing with the plugin settings

Unsure if totally related or if someone else has had this occur recently. When discord is open my CPU usage is normal however the temps are hitting 80-83 C and fans are blowing max. As soon as I close discord the problem is gone, I open it and still fine for the most part. When restarting PC it did not fix, needed to manually close out of discord for this to fix. It's been happening since most recent update about 3 days ago I believe is when vencord prompted.

Crash happening (with recover thing) when I switch to a channel where I block the person (its a bot) and he sends images

I am guessing the vencord part of vesktop works like it does on the "normal" discord app. It just sits ontop. That way discord will still work if certain parts of vencord is broken.

I installed vesktop from aur (bin version) but the screen sharing doesn't work (used to). I noticed that Vencord section has disapeared in the options. I tried to use the official discord package with the install.sh but the audio is then missing (screenshare only). I also tried using vencord without any success.

minecraft doesn't show up as an option for an audio source in the vesktop screen sharing window. running CachyOS linux using the vesktop package from the cachyos repo, but i've also had this issue in other distros with flatpak. minecraft audio output shows up as simply "java" in system settings, i've been trying to find another application written in java with audio output to see if this issue is the same across all applications written in java. tried with zomboid but they seem to be using fmod for audio and vesktop seems to pick that up fine so no luck there.

already searched the discord and found around 3 people with the same issue but nobody got back to them :(

when I try and use vesktop via flatpak, effectively 4 things that is wrong:

  1. no Japanese localization (tbf this is most likely flatpak).
  2. no vencord settings available in settings
  3. certain things like right clicking on words being spelled wrong doesn't work, can't copy pictures from discord (no menu open)
  4. (confirmed by the devs) middleclick causes X11 paste to happen despite running in Wayland with KDE
