My stream looks really laggy even at 720p30fps which wasn't an issue with normal Discord (before I used Vencord/Vesktop) so it cannot be my hardware.
I've also disabled my theme and QuickCSS according to FAQ but saw no improvement.
A friend with a worse CPU and slightly better GPU has no problems streaming 1440p60fps.

Is that some known issue or something?

I'm having trouble screen sharing on the Vesktop Client for Linux, I'm using the arch user repository package. The problem is that when I screen share, most of the time it just looks black or doesn't even load to others. I have all the required dependencies, I tried using the bit-rate fix and fake nitro plugin but nothing worked.
It sometimes work if I share on low quality, but it's not my network since I've used different ones with no different outcome.

Sometimes Vencord might break or crash and make it impossible to update via normal means. Here's how to fix it!

Discord Desktop

Use the Repair button in the installer. You will not lose your Vencord or Plugin settings.

Vesktop

Right click the vesktop tray icon > Update Vencord.
If you don't have a tray, you can run the following script in devtools (ctrl + shift + i, then click on the console tab and paste):

Hello! I installed Vesktop on my Windows, but it keeps saying that my mic access is denied. When going to the redirect Discord gives, it shows how to grant access to mic on Chrome, and that obviously does not work. I tried searching for the issue, but the two github issues links that comes up both are 404 not found pages. What can I do?

Hey there.

I've been using Vesktop for a while. Recently I switched to Niri, and in order to use xwayland-satellite for apps like Steam Niri requires you set DISPLAY = ":0". This helped get Steam working, but it seems to be confusing Vesktop. Despite the fact that my theme is set, it launches by default with the theme off. You're right about this. I just did a bit of testing. I've been working on my system today so a bunch of variables had changed before I noticed this weirdness. I mistakenly assumed it was associated with the variable I changed immediately before opening Vesktop, but i can confirm it's not. I've tried with DISPLAY both set and not, and the bug persists.

i've also noticed that ever since i switched to vesktop, messagelogger seems to not show edited messages in-line [must click (edited) to see edit history] no matter how i adjust the settings

unsure if there's direct relation as the main reason i switched was because my standard vencord broke during an update that may be the real issue

i've been having compositing issues (window trailing flickering copies of itself while dragging; drop shadow flickering on and off; title bar not matching system theme) in Vesktop installed via Flatpak on Ubuntu 24.04 with the stock window manager (GNOME; Wayland). has this bug been reported? any suggestions on how to fix it? i've tried calling flatpak update and using the repair Vencord action, with no effect. the latest version available on Flatpak is 1.5.6. (i'd be willing to switch from Flatpak to a PPA or something if there's one available.)

Why doesn't vesktop recognize my webcam? Discords app, and discord on my browser recognize my webcam. I'm using v4l2loopback with scrcpy to use my phones camera as a webcam, and it works fine in everything else so far besides vesktop. It works if I use androids native webcam function, but that's limited to 1080p 30fps vs 4k60 with scrcpy through the use of v4l2loopback.

Hi, I've been having my own issues with the screenshare

Whenever someone tunes into my stream, they'll see what's on screen for a few seconds before the stream flashes green and only shows them a black screen. Sometimes it'll instead show them the "Stream failed to start" error. In both cases, they can still hear the audio.

Sometimes the video part of the stream will come back after a few or several minutes, but for the most part it's been unreliable.

Previously, I used OBS along with Wave Link to control which audio source was being streamed. I would simply switch the stream output to the Stream Mix audio, and it worked perfectly. 🎧

I don't see it in #1257025907625951423, but I'm having screensharing randomly not loading for users watching my stream on Vesktop - they just get a infinite loading. It'll go away, then come back for them.

I don't see any issue on my end - my screenshare monitor shows my screen fine and I'm not getting any sort of warning.

This is occurring on my Bazzite installs (my desktop and my Steam Deck) installs, which would be the flatpak builds.

Is this an issue others have experienced?

Hey, I’ve been having an issue where Vencord gets stuck on the loading screen. It’s been like this for about 10 minutes with no sign of progress. I tried restarting my PC, but that didn’t help. hey o/

currently every time when I boot my PC (vesktop is set to auto start), I get this error message and have to manually restart vesktop before being able to use it.

this might be related to having cloudflare WARP enabled, which takes a few seconds to connect after boot, and I guess vesktop doesnt handle this gracefully.

Hello hello, Ive been enjoying vesktop for some weeks but yesterday i had "laggy cursor" and tried to disable GPU acceleration but when I tried reopen vesktop im just having a white screen, is there anything I can try to fix that?

im having issues with screen share too where it shares my screen for like 5 seconds before just freezing or turning into a bunch of flickering rainbow pixels. when i teste the regular discord client it screen shared just fine

I'm gonna explain it one last time. If you don't want to understand this and think you know better than the person who literally wrote this code, then that's your choice

The "Export Settings" tool gives you a file that contains BOTH your settings and your quickcss. The file it gives you is NOT A VALID SETTINGS FILE

you can ONLY USE THIS FILE WITH the "Import Settings" button. Trying to copy it manually as settings.json is like completely emptying your settings because once again it is not a valid settings file. Vencord will initialise it with default settings. This is what you're wrongly referring to as "duplicating"

If you want a copy of your settings.json file, just copy the file manually with your file explorer

Trying to use the Export Settings button for this does not work, has never worked and will never work

before it would:
