I'm having a weird issue with screen sharing on Linux. (arch, wayland, gnome, AUR version of vesktop)
I can screen share both of my secondary monitors just fine, but when I screen share my main monitor, it instead screen shares one of my secondary monitors, however the preview when I select my main monitor is correct.

Does anyone know why games that do not actively support RPC do not show up?
E.g. original discord would detect games like Lethal Company or WarThunder to display in my activity and then in the bottom left above my profile so i can stream the game easier. (The streaming part is particularly important because some games are a bit fucky with tabbing out and doing a screen share so the window would not be detected.
While in the Proper discord client it would show the "Stream Now" button.

To clarify:
Games that actively push to the ARRPC server / service e.g. FinalFantasy that has a dedicated plugin to push to discord works.
But Games that just "exist" e.g. WarThunder and do not have and RPC support should normally be detected (ipc magic?) but are not.

Two issues I got: (im on Windows 10 Pro)

1. Vesktop is always using the microphone, no matter what. Even when not in calls or doing anything vesktop will show up as using the microphone under windows settings
2. participants in calls are static-y, When in voice calls everyone else will sound like they're cutting in and out 50 times a second, which is super infuriating (this is only an issue with vesktop, not any of the other 3 discord applications or the website)

oh and a 3rd issue
3. Sometimes vesktop will stop recieving mic input after like 5 minutes of being in a vc and not talking, requires rejoining the VC in order for microphone to be picked up again

hi — i'm having a wayland screenshare issue that i can't find other cases of online. attempting to screenshare does not open the xdg-desktop-portal window, and streams a black screen. nothing useful on stdout/stderr, nor in the logs of xdg-desktop-portal*.service. firefox (discord & webrtc-experiment.com), obs studio, and discord canary without vencord/vesktop all work fine, successfully opening the portal and successfully screensharing. help would be appreciated }:).

P.S. is this the correct place to ask? i'm using vesktop, but perhaps this is considered a vencord issue? the github issue templates also seemed to suggest this discord server is preferred over a tracked issue.

Not sure if this would be a Vencord or Vesktop issue, but has there recently been a change with the app auto-collapsing the channel list when the app is not wide enough? If I mouse over to where the channel list should be, it will pop out smoothly, but I would much prefer to have it out all the time.

Description:
I switched from Discord to Vesktop (Windows 11 23h2) yesterday to see if it lives up to the promise of running smoother and less performance hungry. So far I'm pretty happy with it. But today after starting up my PC I noticed that it was only remembering it's position, not the size of the window. I tried to manually adjust the size, use windows snapping, checked settings and config files and even installed powertoys fancyzones to see if that changes anything. But in all cases the size information was lost again.
During the course of testing and restarting Vesktop I noticed that over consecutive restarts, without touching anything, the window kept expanding in size with each restart. This led me to assume that it's perhaps a dpi scaling problem, since I am using a 1080p and a 2160p screen with the 2160p one being set to 150% scaling (needed to be able to read anything). Testing further I noticed that Vesktop could correctly retain its size on the main screen (regardless of which one was set to be main), not on the secondary one though where it is supposed to be running.

Temporary Workaround:
The only way (that I could find) to currently enforce that Vesktop doesn't resize after it restarts in this scenario, is to transfer the handling of dpi scaling from the app to the system

right click on Vesktop.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility tab -> Change high DPI settings button -> at the bottom check "Override high DPI [...]" and set the dropdown to System or System (Enhanced)

Downside of this is that it results in being unable to open the right click context menu for Vesktop in the system tray.

Hope this can help others that are running into this and are looking for a solution. Even though it's not high priority probably, a fix would be nice when/if possible. Thanks to the team/contributors for making this app, much appreciated.

Has anyone here had success screensharing something from vesktop to an iOS viewer? Because everyone who is on iOS cannot view my streams while everyone who is on another client (e.g. Windows, Linux, Android) can view my screenshare perfectly fine. the full story is that the rainbow icon was originally made for and only ever meant for MacOS, because it fits in better with other MacOS icons

but the tool we use to build vesktop into the final format (rpm, deb, etc) also automatically picked up the icon on Linux despite it being in a file format only used by Apple

at the same time Vesktop also specifies the original icon for Linux

So it has two conflicting icons and I never bothered to fix it because it works fine on most Desktop Environments (XFCE is the only DE I know of that has this two icon bug)
