Some things that are noteworthy:

• This only happens when i'm screensharing, and it typically takes approximately 10-15 minutes to occur (but it might be completely random for all I know)
• This has been an issue for quite a while, but if I had to guess it started happening around 3-6 months ago.
• This happens both when sharing with audio and without.
• the SyncReader::Read timed out messages only occur at the time of the crash.

update: realized i was using vesktop-electron (AUR), so I tried reproducing it in vesktop.

Issue still occurs but the pipewire-related warnings are gone. journalctl still shows the nvidia_drm error at the time of the crash

This issue is only happening with Vesktop. When I try to launch Vesktop it takes 1-3 minutes to launch. After it launches, it works as expected. I tried disabling Wayland, but that just causes it to not launch at all. It takes roughly 40 seconds between the "GPU process exited" messages.

you can run vesktop with --disable-gpu but your issues are much deeper than that you should fix it properly

Hey there, stupid lil issue : after accidentally resizing vesktop, it's being quite laggy and glitchy (stuff randomly blinking , moving around for no reason etc...). I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling (I'm using the flatpak) but it doesn't change anything. I use no theme, no nothing

I modified these values directly but it doesn't fix much (the window size is fine but it glitches all the same) and the second time I start vencord it gets back to the previous weird state

It looks like screen share causes VRAM leaks, as I just witnessed vesktop crashing again after a bunch of page faults reported by nvidia-drm, and taking down the system with it.

hey guys, my vesktop's integrated arRPC isn't working - i have the arRPC plugin enabled and the setting enabled in vesktop settings, yet it doesn't connect to the built-in implementation of the server. it only connects to the external implementation i have running via NPX, anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix it? The npx running version tells me "Port 6463 is busy, using 6464", yet the bridge on 1337 isn't busy. there's discord-ipc-0 (I believe this is Vesktop's implementation) and discord-ipc-1 (npx) in /run/user/1000 (my user)
arRPC complains with there being discord-ipc-0 created by vesktop, so decides to use discord-ipc-1
however, when i have the internal implementation disabled, it's oddly still complaining. is this a bug i uncovered?

hello fellow Vencord members! I've joined because I've been experiencing an issue which I'm not sure whether it's from Vesktop itself or Discord.

Ever since a couple of updates ago, I have been having constant issues with voice-chat losing connection. When I initially migrated into Linux, this issue was not happening, but now everytime I try to Stream, I get the issue, sometimes even when I'm not streaming and I'm on call playing games with friends, it still does it.

It is quite annoying to be honest and I was hoping to know if there was a solution for it?

Anyways, I've been having issues with some rich presence apps. The activities are not shown on my profile, and when I open the console inspector I get these error messages multiple times.

If I open the vesktop app through the terminal, these are the logs that are generated. It seems that arRPC is connecting with the apps successfully and doesn't generate any error log.

The OS I'm using is Linux, the distro is Fedora 41 Workstation Edition

And the Vestkop app was installed using the RPM package

I also installed the discord-flatpak-rpc-bridge script to get working some flatpak apps I use

Hey ! On KDE 6 Wayland, when I put vencord in the background and try to bring it back (either by clicking the pinned icon or the tray icon), it sometimes doesn't show up, and I have to restart it. Vanilla discord doesn't have this issue.

A friend and I are both having a peculiar issue with Vesktop (flatpak, Bazzite, KDE). For some reason, the microphone input is mixing the audio output from our default web browsers with the actual microphone audio. The audio monitor in Voice & Video settings also shows very erratic microphone activity even when the microphone is physically unplugged and no audio is playing on the system. Muting the microphone through system settings freezes Vesktop's audio monitor wherever it is at the time rather than it dropping to zero.

These strange behaviors are only observed in Vesktop. In stock Discord (flatpak) or Vencord, the audio monitor drops to zero when the microphone is unplugged, showing no erratic behavior, and they don't inexplicably pick up the web browser's audio as if it was mic audio.

We've tried restarting pipewire, restarting Vesktop, rebooting our systems, and using the reset/repair options from right-clicking the vesktop tray icon, but the problem has persisted.

the trick is to disable half of your plugins, see if that fixes it, if it does reenable half of the disabled ones and see if it returns, if it does then disable half of those, so on and so forth until you isolate a single plugin

The earliest I noticed was late January, when my webcam feed showed green nonsense on a friend's system, but previewed fine on my own system. Another group of friends last month also said my screen share was all green when I was using Vesktop, but not when I tried Vencord.

In all cases, webcam or screenshare video streamed just fine when I used any other Discord client such as Vencord, and another friend on Bazzite has had no issues using Zoom for video calls. It's an issue which only seems to affect Vesktop.

This has been a big help. qpwgraph isn't showing any other audio source connecting to the microphone except chromium (Vesktop), so after more experimentation with microphone levels, audio recording, and Discord settings, my current theory is it's some kind of EM crosstalk in hardware combined with Discord's automatic gain and noise suppression. On my system at least, it doesn't seem to actually be isolated to Vesktop like I first thought, and is a small but systemwide effect which can be eliminated with the right configuration; I'll have to see if my friend's issue can be narrowed down to similar reasons or if there's more to it for both of us.

Discord lagging

Discord's recent changes seem to have made some CSS very laggy. This includes many themes and part of Vencord itself.

If you are experiencing lag, try disabling all your themes and your QuickCSS. If this fixes it, it means one of those is the culprit. Slowly re-enable one by one until it lags again to find what exactly causes it!

If disabling Themes & CSS doesn't fix it, please go to #1335030867759730790 and run the /vencord-plugins slash command to share your enabled plugins. This will allow us to understand which plugins cause it

could be a lot of reasons. for starters try disabling any themes + css you have
