Many times, we find quite irritating users on any Discord server. But they're not hostile enough to block, and we don't want to do it to avoid those unpleasant situations where people talk about you on that server because you blocked that person.

The plugin would give the option to list a username, and from then on mentions or messages from that user would be hidden, as if they didn't exist. There would be a choice depending on our needs, to hide only their mentions...

Plugin Description

TextReplace may not be usable on specific servers due to various circumstances such as auto-moderation (i.e. blocking embedded links), requiring you to go to your plugins tab, disable the plugin, do your stuff and then re-enable it.

Instead should it be possible to define a list of Servers (through ID) where the plugin shouldn't be active.

This change request should perhaps be considered for other plugins too, where it is possible to add.

Not quite, channel tabs from bd is keeping easy access to two or more different channels/servers. What is being requested here is something to view the same channel twice (i added on that you could view two different channels at the same time)

An option on how to fix that would be to save all chat-ids in a file, and when loading the actual list of direct messages, the plugin could look into the JSON file and see what chats are missing, and add them below all other chats. Maybe even with a divider to visualize that they aren't normally...

If you delete messages too quickly, Discord limits you.

The plugin would allow you to add messages to the queue and then send a query every 2 seconds to Discord, and the messages themselves would be hidden even if they are in the queue.

If a queue is not an option, I suggest something similar to prevent Discord from limiting message deletions.

If you hold shift and use a quick buttons bar, you pretty much can. There are situations where you gotta do it manually and there are a lot of messages.

The only thing is that it blocks only the messages (I mean, it doesn't block other things like member names or bios or others I guess) and the description says that the plugin should block the entire message, while what I wanted is just to cover the word I don't want to see.

When reopening chats, it's often that you will be placed hundreds of messages above recent ones and you will end up spamming clicking the "back to new" button. Thanks to discord scrolling you back up for no reason you have to click 5-10 times to be brought to new chats. This plugin will help greatly.

If there was an easy/reliable way to detect these type of accounts then I’d hope discord would already be doing it.

A system like this would live and die by how the categories work though.

  • Are people allowed to define new categories?

how is changing someone's messages locally a concern for abuse but the ability to see deleted messages, see what device they're using, automatic link suppressors and a ton of other privacy invading features not? its not like i like anal or anything baka!

  • Are people allowed to define new categories?
    Are the categories too permissive, you'll get big master categories that will be as useful as the current big list. If they're too restrictive, you get a bunch of small categories with very few plugins.
