Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

is there a plan to make it possible for vencord to update in a saner way on linux with the new builtin autoupdater, i used to have a update hook set up to update vencord but now i have to reinstall manually whether discord decides it wants to update itself, or atleast having an option to fully disable autoupdates (since id prefer to be updating via my package manager anyway)

Try going to %appdata% and deleting the discord file then to %localappdata% and deleting that discord file then re-download everything. Discord just corrupted when I did the update so it might have happened to you too

Hey so a weird thing happens when I install vencord to discord canary on linux. No mouse input works at all. I can't click on anything. When I focus the window the message box is selected so basically the only thing I can do is type and send messages into the one group chat that opens when discord canary opens. It doesn't happen on stable though. I haven't tried ptb yet but I will in a minute.

Apparently Vencord's settings.json has an issue of breaking the html elements of discord, and not allow any mouse clicking or scrolling. I tested a lot of things. Currently, deleting settings.json while having account sync fixes the issue while having the plugins enabled.

Yeah Linux version of Discord has a lot of changes done recently. The main thing is that Discord is now installed in your home directory, not in /opt I see you fixed it by doing clean install of everything (I did the same first time around) but it's usually enough to just uninstall Vencord through CLI, remove the Discord folder located in /opt and install Vencord again.

Small issue I've noticed. I see that the Linux installer in recent release got updated a few days ago, but the checksum file wasn't updated. This makes the checksum check fail.
I know it's a very low priority issue, but could that be fixed? For now I disabled the control in my install script, but I would rather have it if possible.

i wondering if it is possible that the oneko plugin could support our own pixelated art or images like it gives us placed to drop in images like it says drop in a top view of your picture toward up/down then drop in a side view of you picture toward the left/right and also the image that it stays in place (i almost forgot diagonal). Then you can upload another set (or make it just grouped with the last one) of those images to create like animation like running. (maybe support up to 3 groups of these pictures). Then also include settings like how it will start/stop (like gradually (then how gradual {slider bar}) or suddenly), how far it is from the mouse/ trigger range.

Maybe add for start/ stop animation some extra stuff like special effects if wanted. Like it for maybe 0.5 to 1.5 secs, it uses another 2 or 3 set of animation (I want to make a car following mouse, like I would like a small burnout when it starts and some breaking lights when it stops)

If all of this isn't possible, could you make the cat (og) to be hideble with a button? It is sometimes blocking words, espacially on dropdowns when i come by the bottom. Like a settable button (let the user choose which button). Maybe leave it blank on default.

So i fixed RTC-Connecting issue that persisted for months on Win 11 Desktop App (was using Vesktop in the meantime) by deleting my Discord & Vencord folder in Appdata after uninstalling discord + Vencord. Flushing DNS, checked error logs, checked windows integrity, cleared cache, none of it fixed it but apparently just nuking the entire thing is the way to go and then doing a clean reinstall of vencord & discord.

My custom rpc thingy won't work,,, and by that I mean when I tried out a new time-stamp, it stopped showing on my profie, but when i re-did it with my old time-stamp (which worked previously) it stopped working again, I can see it on my profile but when I click full profile it suddenly disappears, I've already tried redownloading, refreshing, turning it off and on, checking the stuff I put in the plug-in, and nothing seems wrong, I changed the time-stamp now but it still won't work. I can still see it on the bottom left thingy on my profile but my friends can't see it, nor do other people.

Not going to lie, i might have some eyesight problems to deal with.
But right now, i reinstalled the userscript to see if it really didn't work or if i just didn't see the options pop-up.
After opening the settings, the vencord settings appeared in the sidebar.
I'm not sure if i understood the bug right, but opening the console right now, gives some Content-Security-Policy errors, but it does not seem to come from the userscript, is there any way that i could test it?
