To give a lil background, I use Discord in incognito mode on Microsoft Edge. I have strict parents and they don't allow my 17 yo ass talk to people online. I use incognito mode to avoid it being on my browser history (I can't delete it cuz of some restriction they have on here). I downloaded the web extension and allowed it to work on incognito mode. The problem is that the setting aren't showing up. I downloaded the Discord app and installed Vencord on there, but I don't wanna keep the app on here in case if they find it. I can't find a image of what that is, but the normal discord client used to use that (and then switched to its own picker apparently now??) and I found it better because it let me pick windows that were fullscreen and also not in a clumped up list

I recently fully reset my PC and am reinstalling everything (Discord, Vencord). However, the Vencord installer doesn’t seem to work. I keep getting “failed to patch” / “failed to install” errors because the file app.asar is missing.

Instead, there is a file called app.asar.bspatch in the folder.

I checked the Discord directory:
C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Discord\app-1.0.9218\resources

I tried renaming app.asar.bspatch to app.asar, but as soon as Discord launches, the entire app-1.0.9218 folder gets deleted and replaced with a new one.

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

After the most recent discord updates for canary, all the plugins and custom CSS I had stopped working, and no amount of reinstalling / repatching would fix it. Vencord settings themselves would display but nothing else. That would have nothing to do with the Australian law, that's just a standard Discord thing. I'm pretty sure if you said you were under 18 at sign up you need to verify your age to see sensitive content or something like that

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it
