7. Now open discord

• If it works, cool, install vencord
• If not: reinstall discord, install vencord

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

To quickly find your chrome/firefox version for us to help, open the devtools/inspect element (usually ctrl + shift + i or Cmd + Option + i)

If it does not let you paste, type allow pasting (then press enter obviously) and try again

For the chrome extension, vencord only supports version 111 and above

I have all the css for a theme I am slowly making saved in localhost, as soon as I add the following to it (no matter where, as long as the css file it is in is being called to for use) it just bricks it so that any changes I make to localhost don't get read by discord. delete a file off localhost? it's able to read the file that doesn't exist.. Change a file name? same thing. The only way that it can be fixed is if I restart my PC, (I've also tested to see if it is localhost that is breaking, no, I am able to test all of it, and going to localhost on browser shows the updates live) if someone can please help that would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to just not change the banner, but I also don't want to have to restart my PC every time

Got a bit of a weird bug. If I use "VencordInstaller.exe" then it works just fine no problems. Trying to run "pnpm inject" in my VSC, it says it has patched itself, but in reality it just breaks it and i have regular discord client.

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

heya, my vesktop randomly stops receiving audio from voice channels and the people's avatar stops showing the green border as if they were in complete silence, that is until I manually reconnect in the voice channel and find out they were talking the whole time...
when this happens in pacman's official discord package, it just disconnects and reconnects me in the voice channel automatically.
when using either nix's or aur's vesktop package, that problem still persists and it rarely reconnects me, but when it does, it takes like 10 or 15 seconds until I get reconnected to the voice channel again

Its simply a discord feature that happens on specific actions (like creating accounts, deleting servers or joining servers) that is more likely if you’ve logged into a lot of accounts, create a lot of new accounts or use a vpn

Your Discord seems to have installed in the wrong place. This could be due to a variety of issues.

To fix it, click the "Take me there!" button and follow the instructions in the dialog.

1. Make sure discord is fully closed in task manager

2. Press "take me there"

3. Make sure you are in the discord folder, if not, go there

4. ctrl+a and delete (aka, delete everything in the folder)

5. Go back a folder (outside of the discord folder, it'll either be ProgramData or your windows username)

6. Delete the discord folder

7. Now open discord

• If it works, cool, install vencord
• If not: reinstall discord, install vencord

How do I get more logging to debug why Vesktop isn't picking up an audio source as an option for the screenshare audio sources? It detects other audio sources but java (Minecraft) audio source is missing from the list.

The audio is picked up if I do entire system audio share but I don't want to do that
