The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

none in specific but my dad was using monterey before and i saw in his applications folder half of them werent usable because they were 32 bit

catalina being a few years older also means its more moddable, it runs better on older hardware (monterey was not very quick), and i just prefer the aesthetic

plus the latest macos version is sonoma which is 2 steps up from monterey

and since this is an intel mac it cant go up to there

so if i cant go all the way up why stick with monterey
