totally fair, but what lead to the confusion is that, when managing plugins, the plugins reflect your config live, and you must restart the client in order to load your config, this did not reflect in this case

for ex, if I enable 5 plugins, and disable 3 others, it will have no effect on the client at that point, but my config will have already changed and reflected the new plugin selections, and the visiable toggles match it, live. In order to actually load the config changes, you must reload the client.

I expected something similar to happen when importing the backup, I expected to go to the plugins menu, see the toggles reflect my config, despite none of the plugins having actually loaded yet, and then reload the client to actually load them.

the config reflects state, importing it is akin to doing away with old state and loading new state, it makes sense to so the same with the literal state

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

Hi vencord devs I had a question about FakeNitro emoji bypass. I noticed it works perfectly in channel statuses, even when using multiple emotes, all without showing the url. It also looks like it is recognized it as an emote read as the actual corresponding emote on non-vencord clients (see images for examples).

My question is... how are the channel statuses working on vanilla discord? and why can't we do this in regular messages like this? Something like ghost mode ? I just thought this was a super cool thing I stumbled on. Thanks in advance :)

I'm on win11, enabled both these notification settings and on online status, enabled vencord notifications and turned off focus mode, yet the notifications are not showing on either of my monitors since the start of this week for no reason. I still hear pings and the normal discord client works fine with notifications.

I assume it has something to do with electron toast notifs

haiii, I'm having an issue about discord rpc not working through flatpaks

I have the native vesktop version, but flatpaks can't seem to access the ipc socket, and I'm unable to open it due to sharing the entirety of 'xdg-run' being unsupported

I've found a way to make it work temporarily with a hard link to $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/discord-ipc-0 from $XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/app/com.discordapp.Discord/discord-ipc-0, but this is a temporary solution, and has to be done manually every vesktop restart

I have found articles talking about how to allow native programs to talk with flatpak discord, but nothing about the other way around
