to install vencord plugins u need to clone the source code, put the plugin in the right folder in the source then build the source code

the command in that github repo for richer cider (whatever that is ) should do it automatically

but it opens the gui installer

ive seen ppl have issues with exactly that before

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

they are essentially the same, private just means a network you trust. if you don't do anything special, windows considers all networks (including your home network) as public

what that permission does is allow the app to listen to requests on your network, usually to create a web server

the only thing in vesktop that creates a server is arrpc, but that shouldn't trigger the prompt because it only listens on localhost, not your network

so you should safely be able to just press cancel
