My themes broke and now I can't open settings or disable them

open the dev tools with CTRL + Shift + i and click on the "console" tab at the top. Then paste and run (with enter) the following code.

It will

• disable custom css (you can turn it back on in Vencord Settings)
• copy your current theme links to your clipboard as a backup
• remove all themes

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

Hey, uh after many vencord updates since the thing that discord broke everything, devtools still crash the app for me. I am on 64 bit operating system and i have more than enough memory and this never happened before the update. It's very annoying and i don't want to install vesktop because it does not support custom keybinds and it just looks different which i don't like, I also don't want to use the browser version each and every time i want to use devtools. This only happens when i use the "elemens" tab, for example if i'm quick enough to switch the tab to "Console" when the devtools are still loading it doesn't crash, how come and how do i fix it if its know issue?

Why does my Discord always crash when opening DevTools?

Discord on Windows uses 32bit electron which has a hard memory limit of 2gb. Discord's memory management isn't great so it will already get up to like 1.5gb ram usage if you are in a lot of servers and have it open for a while

DevTools use a lot of memory so once you open them, they immediately push you over 2gb usage. Thus Discord runs out of memory and crashes

Solution: use Discord Browser / Vencord Desktop

However, here are some solutions that should work:

• Many people have stated that opening devtools while Discord is still loading prevents the crashing
• Devtools work fine in Vencord's custom client, Vesktop, or just your web browser - you can use the Vencord browser extension
• It seems to be an issue exclusive to Windows. You could try switching to Linux

pretty much, vencord injects to some files in the discord folder, those files get refreshed when discord updates hence vencord disappearing after a discord update

The easiest & fastest solution to most issues is to just reinstalll / repair Vencord using the installer. Don't worry, you won't lose your settings! They'll all be there like nothing happened once you're back

However, here are some solutions that should work:

• Many people have stated that opening devtools while Discord is still loading prevents the crashing
• Devtools work fine in Vencord's custom client, Vesktop, or just your web browser - you can use the Vencord browser extension
• It seems to be an issue exclusive to Windows. You could try switching to Linux

Question regarding the message logger, and this happened before months ago, and after this most recent update, it works, to a degree, but it seemingly doesn't catch every channel. One server I'm in has a General Chat, Memes, and Media all in their general area, and messages in General get logged, but the rest don't.

Had a friend post something in memes, then delete it, channel changed colors for new message, but going in there shows nothing, and the plugin doesn't have any settings really aside from ignoring your own stuff, and ignoring bots.

The easiest & fastest solution to most issues is to just reinstalll / repair Vencord using the installer. Don't worry, you won't lose your settings! They'll all be there like nothing happened once you're back

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"
