While I understand the decision to make spawn locations less likely to be "baby sit" to make teams respawn far away from objectives, its lead to a lot of situations in which someone on my team is tasked with taking the vault to the cashout station for an early plug (usually a light or a shock wave medium) and having the enemy team effectively spawn on them after they come back, causing the enemy team to get a large advantage because one player is a bit faster the the rest of the team. It's very frustrating to experience, maybe the system could allow for preventing near spawns when a player has yet to start the cashout station?
okay, i know dual blades aren't that bad in combat as someone who uses them a lot... that said the fact they practically can't kill a heavy faster than a heavy can take steal a cashout is super rough. have lost a number of matches due to it and it doesn't get any less frustrating.

I dont like the seed system, there have been 10s of times this season where the game has decided im Seed 1 as i have a higher rank than the rest of the the lobby then i lose to a full team of ex rubies and go down -800. Even if i win i get +300 and then when i have a low seed of like 4-8 i have no chance of winning anywqy and get stomped. It feels like when i have a chance of winning im getting very small increases but loads of loss and when there is lower chance due to lower seed im still losing even. I just cant gain.... And to top it off i get griefed by third parties every other game even if my team does well.

Could never get close. They never missed with winch, never even had to get close to me they just WAITED FOR WINCH COOLDOWN FOR 100% OF THEIR KILLS.
Just SPAMMING shields, endless barricades and domes, attacking a inside cashout (because we literally have to, becuase most cashouts are indoors).

These are Apex stats which has strong RAA.
MnK is superior in The Finals which is why a majority of the grand majors comp players are MnK.
I play MnK and Controller, since switching to MnK I mostly main MnK. Which I play in PS5 only lobbies, so a majority of the people I play are using controller with AA and at my age I have no issue too 3 and MVP.
Yes controller can be good in certain situations but the input and everything feels sluggish and slower vs MnK.
If you watch cams of team mates on controller, especially less skilled ones, you can see AA not working, you can see them struggling.
I have 30% accuracy in a lot of auto weapons in BF6. Some only 20% because of my play style.
AA doesnāt need a nerf, even controlling recoil on certain guns like the FCAR is a huge disadvantage on controller. It feels very floaty vs playing FCAR with MnK.
As reference because I use both input methods vs using data from other games, I know AA in the finals isnāt broken like COD or Apex. I use Superglide v3 glass pad, crazy light v2 and sometimes switch to VXE R1 pro for a larger mouse. my controller is a PS5 Edge.
Improve quick cash as a game mode, it has so many instances of unfairness in regards to spawn timers and distances from objective. Remove 80% of the trash littered over the maps. Rework the sword focusing more so on making it fun to use and not just a m1 spam simulator. Add map voting to the game. Reduce visual glare from light sources when on ground floors in buildings. Return original Las Vegas into map rotation. Add more flags for the people who want to represent their strange country nobody has ever heard of. Make barricade override props and trash that's on the floor, have a mount option for windows and doorways. Revert quick melee change, as it just make the game less responsive for no reason, fixing something that was never broken.

if AA is balanced against mnk players with over 1000 hours of kovaaks, controller should be expected to do the same to compete
I have an idea for the practice range maybe add a separate room, kinda like the bot room and create a mini map with foliage and other obstacles and buildings and allow players to 1v1 . To expand on this idea, you can even create a 2v2 option and add more to the mini map obstacles. Eventually ending at 3v3 and basically create a mini heads to head. You can swap out the game mode with cash out TDM or a search like game mode.
I just noticed that the new ruby and emerald skins have black carbon trim instead of chrome. Please change those skins back. This new look is a serious downgrade

I know it's kind of a 'nothing burger' sort of suggestion but I really think we should get some STEAM POINTS SHOP additions for The Finals.
Some good player profiles and profile backgrounds would honestly do a lot of work for advertising the game, and they'd be relatively inexpensive to produce in-house as well. In particular I think of how the GTFO character portraits went, like, triple platinum on steam in spite of that game being relatively niche (super fun, though), and went a long way in spreading knowledge about it via word of mouth.
Here are a few that I would do if I was on Embark's art team:
-Profile banner of coins falling on a blue background, maybe with a vault and/or cashout at the bottom right so that you can see it on the edges of a profile
-Animated cashbox profile portrait
-Animated profile portraits for 3-6 characters or popular skins. Maybe one for Dede, Ursa, or all the 'named' Finals contestants
-A CNS-themed profile background, border, banner and portrait
-Namatama (whatever the egg is) themed profile portrait
-ORF themed profile background
These would just give players a nice way to express their love for the game on their steam profiles, and would have the added benefit of getting more eyes on The Finals, again, just via word of mouth.

Itās happening since the start of this season. This is a game issue not the servers. The twitch streamer masuka also has this and he keeps talking in his stream. How to correctly balance the 93R (its current TTK is awful)
The 93R's current TTK is even worse than it was pre-S5 and in my honest opinion it is subpar versus other light class options (like the ARN, the XP-54, the V9S and the LH1).
This weapon gets out-damaged in most cases by the FAMAS (across all classes), a similar 3-round burst weapon with 4 more rounds in the magazine present in the medium class, which has 100 more HP.
In my opinion it doesn't make sense that the light class burst weapon has... less DPS potential than the medium class burst weapon?
Proposed 93R changes:
Damage: 24** (same)**
Burst delay: 0,275s > 0,23s
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,81s -> ** 0,72s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.28s -> 1,14s (11 shots)

This isn't the case for the ARN.
With these changes, the 93R will not 2 burst lights with body shots only, which was the product of an oversimplified "nuclear" buff made in Season 5.
This proposal will also make the 93R less capable to poke at long range due to lower minimum and maximum drop-off ranges, leaving that task to options such as the ARN and the LH1 (preserves the weapon niche).

I was in a few games last night where I had players on my team completely ignore the objective and just chase contracts. Although I think players should have a place to do this casually, a competitive mode like quick cash is detrimental to their 2 other teammates who are trying to win. The game def needs a casual mode for new player and contract chasers to just have fun. Fist thing that comes to mind is a āwelcome to the finalsā server where players can watch competitive matches but walk about the map independent of the competitive scene. Be able to shoot at each other and āhave funā and learn about the games.
Dropping in experienced competitive players with absolute beginners is stressful for the new and competitively detrimental to the experienced. Either cycle casual fun based ltms under a button or develop some sort of āpoolingā mode for new and casual player to enjoy and learn.
I myself often get tired of competing. I still want to play the finals but I donāt want to be competitive, so a goofy ltm rotator would appeal to me as well.

Solo queue lights have absolutely killed ranked tournament. This game needs a role queue. 8/10 of my last matches were completely sold by bad lights.
CL40 is in the worst state since beta. They have really killed its effectiveness this season... especially when combined with unresponsiveness of it not firing you get burst down in a fraction of second and it won't even fire on some occassions.
I was kicked out of a game for being Inactive. I was just watching Shorts while waiting for a match and I have the game audio turned off when tabbed out. Can you make it so that Match-Ready sound is un-mutable in that option? Because now I have to turn on game sound always on even when tabbed out.
Whatever change was done to ranked matchmaking, it sucks. Fire the person who suggested this solution.

Since season 9 the game has been extremely unoptimized and has non-stop stuttering even on low settings.

Smurfing has become an increasing issue with its peak worse on s9 and 10. Feels like casual matches are sweatier and much less enjoyable than ranked at this point.

Quitters are another major, increasing issue. You have to count quits as losses and add a cooldown timer even on casual matches because all people care about is a pristine K/D and W/L ratio on their smurf accounts now and keep ruining the experience for everyone else.
The crossbow is just so insanely oppressive at basically every range, please either slow it down and make it similar to the pike/repeater or lower it's damage to make it more like a precision ar

When are we gonna stop pretending that thermal vision doesn't exist? Cloak buff and no thermal vision is kinda diabolical.
There's a much easier fix than you think, and it's as simple as removing smoke grenades from light's utility pool.
Sure, their teammates could bring smoke grenades, and it would accomplish the same thing, but it would require the player who's bringing smoke grenades to constantly smoke grenade the light, which isn't reliable with how fast paced the combat is, because they would have to hold hands the whole time, and it would be an active detriment to the smoke grenade user, because they literally cannot see

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have the so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

Hey! The seeding in ranked cashout has been bothering me lately. How is it possible that my wiped team has an active cashout that has not been stolen and no one is actively trying to steal it and we still end up getting seeded to the cashout across the map? It is so frustrating to spawn back into the game and realize that despite the best efforts of our grapple light, it is just not possible within the confines of the game to get to the cashout to defend it in a reasonable manner. It truly feels like we are being actively seeded out of the game. Please look into this and make sure that if your team has an active cashout, you won't be seeded across the map.

Single shot weapons are unusable in 50% of the rounds due to desync. No hit registration. Getting killed once all the way behind cover. If this game was crisp and responsive, more people would play. It's horrible currently.

Your argument about Lights and Grand Major shows that controller is not viable due to it being limited to a specific class and scenarios.
It proves that controller is only viable in certain scenarios. Close range, fast movement where recoil control isnāt a factor. Itās not competitive at all at distance due to AA being weak and controlling recoil at range vs MnK will lose every time. (I know because other AR players give up challenging me because I hit them consistently as MnK vs controller).
MnK doesnāt require tracking with mouse 100%, you use mirror movement to follow enemies in most situations, which is why itās been easy to transition to MnK.
You need to understand casual players is what makes games. If they wanted MnK only in the pro leagues they can controllers, ban weapons, play styles etc.

People say the CL40 requires more skill now that the splash damage is nerfed and it's all about those direct hits. But honestly, this thingās projectile takes like 300-500ms to landāprobably the slowest in the game. So it's not even about the aim, it's about the prediction.
In a 1v1, there are so many ways to counter it: high ground kills the CL40, melee kills the CL40, and generally all the opponent needs is a bit of lateral movement or a well-timed jump to force a splash hit, which just got gutted. There are really only two ways to guarantee a direct hit: catching someone unaware/sitting still, or at point-blank range, which is basically suicide. I'm fine with the splash nerf, but self-damage should've been decreased to compensate, not increased. Also, the 105 damage buff was definitely not needed.

The more modes you add the more it hurts these two regions. Right now in SA you can only play ONE mode: Quick Cash. Last death was TDM. You can't play any other thing than Quick Cash if you are from SA and want to play with good ping.

I'm a gold/plat player that works night shift so night time is just when I'm able to play, and I get matches with at least one team that just STOMPS the lobby, no contest. Iām writing to suggest some new content. I believe itās time to add new animations for the Quick Melee attack, which is currently limited to the elbow strike. Since players use this attack constantly, having unique animationsāespecially for finishing off an opponentāwould make the gameplay even more satisfying.
The idea first came to me a while ago, but it really took shape when I saw the new Revolver skin with the green bayonet in the Season 10 Premium Battle Pass.
It would be amazing to have different types of Quick Melee attacks. For example:
Weapon-Specific Attacks: Like a dedicated bayonet stab for that specific revolver skin.
Unique Unarmed Strikes: Things like a "tiger palm" strike, an uppercut, a hook, or even a powerful two-handed shove.
You guys are masters at bringing creative ideas to life, and I really hope you consider implementing something like this in Season 11. Thank you for such a magnificent game!

Please revert the match making changes to ranked at the start of the season, specifically the change that put full stacks more often against other full stacks. This change causes much more harm to the people finding a temporary team in the finals discord or other discords to play ranked with much more than full stacks that play together all day everyday. All this does is forces players like me who don't have the time to play as a permanent team to have to play as solo queue and suffer inconsistent teamates and match making due to the fact that this change doesn't make a difference half the time when solo queuing but makes it too risky to be worth while finding a temporary team for the evening. The reality is playing in a temporary team is barely an advantage over solo queueing but playing as a regular full stack is a huge advantage because you learn to rely on your teammates as you know what to expect from them.
May I suggest to combat full stacks playing against solo queue players you introduce some type of close friends mechanic that makes people on your friends list that you regularly play with eg 4 hours a week for multiple weeks your close friend. Then you prioritise putting these close friend stacks against other ones instead of including one time parties as a full stack.
Besides melee, the balancing for heavy and light honesty are pretty good right now, especially for heavy, light could use an invis or even grapple buff but medium could use a little more weapon variation, alongside a second spec which feels good in any rank

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have the so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

ok a bit controversial but a fun addition would be post round open mics so people can talk to each other on different teams. it would create a more connected community and funny moments. sure trash talk is gonna be a thing but thats in every game and can be opted out of with an added setting. if arc can have proxy chat, i think the finals can handle this.

How to correctly balance the 93R (its current TTK is awful)
The 93R's current TTK is even worse than it was pre-S5 and in my honest opinion it is subpar versus other light class options (like the ARN, the XP-54, the V9S and the LH1).
This weapon gets out-damaged in most cases by the FAMAS (across all classes), a similar 3-round burst weapon with 4 more rounds in the magazine present in the medium class, which has 100 more HP.
In my opinion it doesn't make sense that the light class burst weapon has... less DPS potential than the medium class burst weapon?
Proposed 93R changes:
Damage: 24** (same)**
Burst delay: 0,275s > 0,23s
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,81s -> ** 0,72s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.28s -> 1,14s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.74s -> 1,56s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.47s -> 0,42s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> 0,72s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.22s -> 1,08s (10 shots)
Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**
These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R. This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
With these changes, the 93R will not 2 burst lights with body shots only, which was the product of an oversimplified "nuclear" buff made in Season 5.
This proposal will also make the 93R less capable to poke at long range due to lower minimum and maximum drop-off ranges, leaving that task to options such as the ARN and the LH1 (preserves the weapon niche).

Lately, 6 out of 10 matches have server issues, especially when we play in a party. We are playing in Europe with the European server selected. The little red icon appears on the left, and the game stutters and lags. This makes playing ranked normally impossible; it's just unplayable.

- Hitscan bullets vs a 300-500 ms travel time
- No bullet drop vs a significant bullet drop
- a 2x headshot multiplier that crosses important damage thresholds vs 105 damage that despite being harder to hit crosses no important damage thresholds
- 140 RPM vs 73
- 2.5s E reload vs 5+s E reload
- 6 rounds in mag vs 5
- No self damage vs hitting you for more than your own max damage close up
- Pairs well vs high ground and still is quite probable for best damage on low ground vs doesn't pair well with high ground (despite being explosive) and is nearly impossible to hit for direct damage on low ground
It doesn't need to be only splash damage for it's upsides. But
- It should have that as a meaningful upside, as explosives main perk is being able to deal significant damage potentially to multiple enemies without needing direct LoS
- If direct damage is the direction they want to take, despite all those drawbacks I mentioned, at least increase projectile speed significantly and bump up direct damage to 125 to compensate for the serious nerfs to splash damage and the still massive self damage threat

Really enjoying THE FINALS, especially the customization and new season themes. One thing Iād love to see improved is the base character options. There are very limited darker skin tones and face variations right now. If adding new presets takes time, having a skin tone selector or more mix and match options would make a big difference for customization and representation.

I know this may be reaching but... Would it be possible to add the Glitch Effect from the Ariad, CNS outfit as an effect? The reason I propose this idea is due to how unique any of the garments from this set are. They are difficult to mix with other clothing because of how jarring the effect is. So if the effect was removed and made as it's own thing it would not only make the clothing from the set more flexible but would also allow a change in customization for a lot of outfits.
More game events in World Tour, permanently add the Kaiju event to it, new events is fun in world tour. More double barrel events too as a world tour event. Longer event timers too, just let it run when it starts until the end of the match sometimes depending on the event, like double jump, should just stay active the entire time.

Why does winch give instant kills? Why is dome so effective at close range by walking in and out of it while shooting? Why does heavy, with its 350 health and OP gadgets, get weapons with an average TTK on lights only 0.07-0.14 s slower than LIGHTS v LIGHTS. I dont give a damn about the hitbox or the speed, that's fucking NOTHING. You give heavies the means to destroy our mobility (lockbolt, winch), remove super close range advantage (dome, also winch), and basically one shot us the moment they see us (RPG, and YET AGAIN, winch).
The only reason people play light more is that its a fun class. The high energy, fast paced class. Stop ruining light's competitive chances just because people like playing the class.

Coordinated attackers are at a massive advantage, as they can infinitely res and use the spawn zone as a shield. And, uncoordinated attackers are at a huge disadvantage, as they will bleed tickets and stagger indefinitely. It's the only game mode where it's genuinely Not fair at its core.

Iām 100% for this. The effect on the clothes and the face from that set are more visible through smoke and gas too meaning I avoid them like the plague, which is a shame because they look spectacular otherwise. Especially that vest and the watch.
Thereās even a samurai set from 2(?) seasons back in the store with an identical effect so this wouldnāt even just be a change for folks who completed the s4 pass.

They didn't add sword rotational clamping to appease to whiners, it's simply to make the sword a better weapon. Before the aim clamp, sword was so spammy that using the M1 was seen as completely non-optimal and stupid, you only use M2 thrust and quick melee. All it took for a filthy sword spammer was to just zip around the enemy, spam M2 several times while violently shaking the aim to maximize hitbox, and no enemy survives that. That's not skill, that's cheese.
And the funny thing is, you can STILL do all of that, and more. But now, because of the aim clamp, you can actually bait the cocky shithead into missing his thrust attack (most M2 spammers are shit at aim, why else would they use melee in the first place?) and punish while it recovers. This is even more awesome considering real-life fencing, which is not like the flashy anime slashes these weebs got all their knowledge about swordfights from. You see, thrust attacks have great reach and force, but it leaves you way too vulnerable if you miss it, and honestly is a bit predictable if you're an amateur and can be countered with relative ease. So the aim clamp, as restrictive as it sounds, is actually a very accurate recreation of how sword thrust attacks work in real life. Kudos to whoever made this balance change, you know what you're doing.
Aim clamp is perfect because now you actually have to AIM the M2 and not just spam it left and right while you dart across the room. Argue all you want, but you can't really convince anyone that shaking your mouse/stick around like a drunk old man at the gas station lavatory with every M2 attack is a viable gameplay strategy. Embark saw that, knew this shit is spammy, and decided to fix it. Same goes for Sledge M2 too, people never used M1 and only spammed M2 for free kills. Well guess what? Free lunch is over, better learn to aim instead of complaining. Or play Flamethrower Heavy, very easy to play.

Weapons that are easy to use SHOULD NOT be 'good'. Take dual blades for example. It isnt the best weapon by any means, but it is so easy to use at peak performance that it can outperform better players on 'better' weapons, just bc those weapons take much more skill to get anything out of. Cl40 should be weak, bc u require fuck all aim, deal loads of damage, and hit multiple people at once, without having to ads sl u can jump and run around at full speed.

Dash applies a reaction-time tax on the person trying to hit the dashing player, but not on the player using dash. That asymmetry is the core issue.
Until evasive dash mechanics change, it will remain the strongest specialisation in the game. The problem isn't cost, it's how the ability works.
Right now, dash lets me instantly break aim tracking while still keeping full control of my aim and damage output. The opponent must react to sudden displacement, while I don't pay the same reaction cost. That creates a built-in advantage every time it's used.
A low-impact fix would be to make dash always move in the direction of the crosshair, like it already does when no movement keys are pressed. In that state, dash goes straight relative to aim even if you spin during it: https://streamable.com/agly3t
Every dash gives a large survivability boost (functionally ~50 extra HP), while still allowing up to 3 damage instances in quick succession. Since stun gun removal, there's far less counterplay and I'm rarely punishable during dash.

If dash followed crosshair direction, it would create real tradeoffs:
- I would have to commit to a direction
- I couldn't consistently deal damage while escaping
- Positioning would matter more than raw reaction speed
It would also reduce the reaction-time imbalance. If I must aim my dash direction, I'm making a readable commitment instead of forcing all reaction burden onto the opponent.
This wouldn't kill the specialisation. It would still allow skill plays like dash + burst combos and keep its identity as a mobility tool.
Right now it's too forgiving and too dominant. Easy value, frustrating to play against, especially for casual players.
Balancing dash isn't about numbers. It's about fixing the mechanic that makes it oppressive.

I noticed that thereās a melee rework planned for next season.
Always felt like melee weapons ought to have a very slight movement-speed passive.
And arena props should be able to take a bit more damage depending on the object, perhaps.
Although itās a big ask, you could pull off an unarmed melee weapon. Attacking would be a combo of rapid attacks (several at most) that would do dramatically more damage to the head, something to that effect. This could enable a lot of unique potential skins: gauntlets, katars, knuckle-dusters, etc. Not sure what class it would be for but I could see either Light or Medium.
I rly canāt stress how well I think a barehanded option would fit into a game as eccentrically dynamic as The Finals.

Core Concept:
A new PvP mode fusing THE FINALS' signature destruction, class system, and fast combat with Bed Wars' core loop of base defense, build/break, and economy progression, to revitalize the game and retain players.
Key Design Pillars (Balance & Class Identity):

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

Turret needs more for real viability. I always find it really easy to counter and is only really useful if it's behind a team in a fight and if there is multiple. I have four ideas to make it more viable. One is boring and the other three are more interesting or really fun. The boring one is decrease the activation timer so it can be in a battle sooner. The first interesting one is give it a temporary shield while it activates. Though annoying I don't think it would be unfair. Plus I think there can be some interesting tech with that. The next interesting and first fun one is giving the turret mobility like RC wheels (this would also imply that you can RC the turret which is another idea that seems really fun and I would like to see). The last idea I had was blatantly stealing from Team Fortress 2. Either have an upgradeable turret or at the very least give the turret a mini RPG that can be used sparingly every odd amount of seconds. I think an upgradeable turret is really fun and adds more gameplay to your specialization; although I completely understand if it might become super broken, but I think if you balance things right it can be done. Just spit balling though. Just would like to see the turret be useful for when it's on my team comp and I want it to be more of a threat.
This also gave me more ideas like a drone specialization. I think a drone would fit really well in the game. I don't know where exactly to put it though. I think light or medium would be best but since medium already has the turret and four specials already then probably the light. In which case I think that being able to stand on it or attach things to it would be interesting. Apparently people have been asking for a jet pack for light and this could be it. The idea needs some tweaks. Doing this ideas raw would just be nuts.
I use the cl-40 and only useing that got to diamond with it the wepon lacks any ttk on other M & H (this is fine btw)
( keep in mind the only wepon the cl-40 will have a better ttk is when fighting a pike when in a MVM match up)
But if u want to reward more direct shots increase the velocity of the shots and maybe make the cycle animation faster i am fine with less splash damage but plz then make it more in line with what u have said
Dev Note: The CL-40ās effectiveness is not great compared to many other Medium weapons. We know facing the CL is frustrating for some players, so we want to be careful with how much we buff it, but these changes are needed to increase its viability. The aim is to incentivize more direct hits with the CL-40, rather than less accurate splash damage shots.

How to correctly balance the 93R (its current TTK is awful)
The 93R's current TTK is even worse than it was pre-S5 and in my honest opinion it is subpar versus other light class options (like the ARN, the XP-54, the V9S and the LH1).
This weapon gets out-damaged in most cases by the FAMAS (across all classes), a similar 3-round burst weapon with 4 more rounds in the magazine present in the medium class, which has 100 more HP.
In my opinion it doesn't make sense that the light class burst weapon has... less DPS potential than the medium class burst weapon?
Proposed 93R changes:
Damage: 24** (same)**
Burst delay: 0,275s > 0,23s
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,81s -> ** 0,72s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.28s -> 1,14s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.74s -> 1,56s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.47s -> 0,42s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> 0,72s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.22s -> 1,08s (10 shots)
Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**
These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R. This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
With these changes, the 93R will not 2 burst lights with body shots only, which was the product of an oversimplified "nuclear" buff made in Season 5.
This proposal will also make the 93R less capable to poke at long range due to lower minimum and maximum drop-off ranges, leaving that task to options such as the ARN and the LH1 (preserves the weapon niche).
suggestion: give the M60 and lewis gun the ability to use their bipod
my idea is that they could be deployed on a suitable object / prop (a box for example, or just the floor somehow) using a keybind or something, and the guns would get heavy decreases in recoil and m a y b e better damage drop off at range for the exchange of not being able to move as well as being limited to a 45 degree view

I go into own 3 stack, I only play solo queue players.
I want to jump on for a few casual games, which is solo queue. Even peak times it will take 5x longer than time listed, just so it puts me against 3 stacks. When I play in a pre made, the queue times are significantly shorter.

I've been queeing now for ranked with my friends for 15min. I actually have no problem with longer Q times for better quality of matches, but can we please atleast get a social hub to chill in, in the meantime. Or allow atleast to be in the practice range? It would make the wait way less painful.
I'll use this post to ask for a club's homebase, somewhere to chill on and test 1v1, or flex skins/emotes... something like the warfrane's dojo would be really nice... With parkour challenges and customizable club housing.
Also another thing which would be nice is to be able to change the colors of the ennemy teams, so that it feels fresh and not always same colors. (But have a off-toggle button for that option when u are in ranked, to communicate better)

Some great ideas indeed, especially the RC and Drone specs. I'd add that they could also add 2 mini-turrets instead of just 1, with half damage, health and cooldown. So that more grounds could be covered as well as each other's blind spots, and reducing downtime for when a turret gets knocked out.
Also agree with @autumn wagon and @cursive urchin 's suggestions regarding BFR and Dash, respectively. Glad to see some actual balance changes being suggested here. Usually people just spam copypaste dog-tier ideas every 6 hours or just cry nerfs.
Ooh, yeah that's also a really good idea. A friend of mine also suggested that the turret explodes upon destruction and causes half of what RPG does in terms of damage (55) and env. damage (~1000). That way it discourages destroying it with melee and cause more chaos and destruction. Apply this to the mini turret idea then it be around 28 damage and ~500 env. damage.

If I'm better than 70% I wish I felt that.
If people are like me, when I played against friends less skilled I lower my level and or nerf myself. I want fun and destroying them every match gets boring for me and frustrating for the other.
If the matchmaking was just ping, i think it will incentive people to find different kind of fun and so create different kind of lobbys. Skillbased incentivise/reward skill. Ping incentivise/reward whatever the player base do with the game.

I have a genuine wonder about the MVP system.
I understand not over prioritizing combat score because you want to encorage more than just fragging for MVP players. And at the end of the day, it doesnt really matter,,
BUT..
I feel as though there should be a point when fragging does equate to MVP.
This game I played sniper in Point Break:
- Went 26E, 4A, 3D.
- 19.5k combat score, 10,000 above every other player in the game.
- 1.2k support score, on par with average in the game.
Sniper is a role that basically cannot get objective score if you are doing well (if they can never reach the point.. then you never interrupt or recapture it.)

The Data Reshaper needs a QoL feature to show in real time what the prop will turn into. Just a tooltip above the prop would enough.
Its currently the only gadget that you must memorize a diagram outside of the game to use it to its full potential. The order by itself its not that hard to memorize, but feels uncessarly clumsy at high stakes situation.
Also, its probably the most noob unfriendly gadget in the game right now.
And yes, Im aware that in practice 2/3 of the Data Reshaper value comes from countering enemy gadgets. But reshaping barrels still useful and its a core part of the gadget identity, and thus deserve to not be cumbersome to use.

Absolutely love this game and have been playing since the beginning, however most things in the game right now feel a bit unattainable. In the ranked tournament style, a 7th/8th place finish pretty much negates a 2nd place finish. A 5th/6th place pretty much negates a 3rd place finish. And the only time you feel like youāre āprofitingā rank score is when you win the entire tournament. Even then, you go up about 1,000 points, and it takes 10,000 just to get out of Bronze. Let alone grinding through Silver/Gold/Platinum. Another thing is the sponsorship rewards. You get between 1,000 and 1,500 fans per game, and just to get the gun skin thatās halfway through the ladder it takes about 100,000. Iāll continue to play this game because itās just so fun, has a great TTK and seems pretty balanced. I just wish I wasnāt ELO stuck even though I make deep tournament runs almost every game.

I feel like the ks-23 should be reverted back to a pure projectile weapon. As it is currently it feels inconsistent, and it's lost its identity/uniqueness. For example, the Steam icon does not clearly convey whether a player is using a controller or mouse and keyboard. Agree with this. QOL for DR would be really nice. While the argument can be made that memorizing it is part of the skill ceiling, it's hard to memorize it if 1. you don't know if there is a cycle when starting out (I didn't even know until now; just speculated) and 2. it's hard to memorize if you don't have a constant in-game "flash card" to allow you to memorize the cycle as another language essentially; don't even have to think about it. I also think it should have a third charge, and if it's a problem in certain game modes then just make it so it's different in those game modes. You already make it so that you can't use defibs in TDM.
Speaking of fine tuning game modes: add more customization to Private Matches. I want to be able to customize whether there are trophies/how quick respawn times are/max respawn time as well as scoring rules, whether there are cashboxes, etc, etc. I just think there is a lot of fun to be had with PMs, just let me have more fun with it.

Maybe fun little sick "bubble" effect that are around the player during that time that shrink and disappear as it runs out. The "bubbles" being the cubic pixels when defib is used. And to confirm what @torn moon is saying, yes it doesn't work on heal beam. As someone who likes running support in team comps that allow for it (and someone who is, in my opinion, a really good support), I want to be an even better support by having full ability to bring critical comms. Also add normal audio and visual cues for when special is ready after overheat. Good QOL.

Hereās a bug Iāve been having - When I use the Heal Beam as a medium and then switch back to my Model 18, it automatically fires a shot into the ground. Not sure if it happens with every gun, but itās pretty annoying with a shotgun that has limited ammunition and a cooldown between shots.

So you get a 425 MB (4.25 USD) return (or a 26.98% return).
The problem is people only think in the short term. They don't save. I save and make sure to have enough for the next BP. The devs are awesome enough to have almost every cosmetic they release to the store stay there forever (trust me, I have whole spreadsheet for it; counted 1,700+ items and I'm still not done) and is always accessible (exceptions being Limited Time cosmetics).
It's not hard. It's just math and human will.
P.S. Embark, please stop giving different bundles the same exact name. It's really annoying on my spreadsheet š
How to correctly balance the 93R (its current TTK is awful)
The 93R's current TTK is even worse than it was pre-S5 and in my honest opinion it is subpar versus other light class options (like the ARN, the XP-54, the V9S and the LH1).
This weapon gets out-damaged in most cases by the FAMAS (across all classes), a similar 3-round burst weapon with 4 more rounds in the magazine present in the medium class, which has 100 more HP.
In my opinion it doesn't make sense that the light class burst weapon has... less DPS potential than the medium class burst weapon?
Proposed 93R changes:
Damage: 24** (same)**
Burst delay: 0,275s > 0,23s
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,81s -> ** 0,72s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.28s -> 1,14s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.74s -> 1,56s (15 shots)
Head:
light: 0.47s -> 0,42s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> 0,72s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.22s -> 1,08s (10 shots)
Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**
These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R. This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
With these changes, the 93R will not 2 burst lights with body shots only, which was the product of an oversimplified "nuclear" buff made in Season 5.
This proposal will also make the 93R less capable to poke at long range due to lower minimum and maximum drop-off ranges, leaving that task to options such as the ARN and the LH1 (preserves the weapon niche).
It's always a light class with 30+ kills, they need to nerf this class urgently.
Nerf M11 already. Its getting old and boring. Severely overtuned!

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

Please add an option in the settings that toggles whether or not auto-mantling occurs. I have died so many times trying to jump around a corner and instead I start mantling onto some random fucking object next to me that freezes me in place and lets the opponent get a free kill.

With the removal of H2H you took the SINGULAR "training" mode out of the game. It was absolute 0 brain motion. If the matchmaking was just ping, i think it will incentive people to find different kind of fun and so create different kind of lobbys. Skillbased incentivise/reward skill. Ping incentivise/reward whatever the player base do with the game.

Hey not sure if this has been brought up before, but on PC, if you join Starlight Hollow (Point Break) in the middle of a match on the defending team. It spawns you in the back of the map on the attackers side in the death zone and you automatically die and start with a negative K/D. Has happened every time I join mid match as defenders.

Experimental idea:
Right now a MAJOR issue that is actually plaguing cashout, is how easy it is to just winch a cashout out into the open and play from there. This gameplay is incredibly boring.
A rough idea I had, is what if we implement some sort of "point break" area around the cashout? Make it larger of course as that is a pretty big part of the game, but still restrict it.
Like allow a large area of the building, and maybe a few meters (like only 2) all around the actual building.
This would make cashout fights far more fair, and interesting.
Again it is a really experimental idea, kind of a cashout for a weak type of test, but I think it would improve a lot.
My point is though, the as sniper in point break specifically, on defense, if you are winning, that is playing the objective.
If they can never get to the point to cap it, which was the case in this game, that is protecting the objective.
This was a final hold on stage two of starlight hollow. Only one vault left. And I single handedly held off like half the enemy team from ever even getting to the vault.

So my point is that its not prioritizing kills over objective, because in that game mode, on defense, your literal only job as sniper is to prioritize kills and get sonar grenades off, and nullify a few people before they ever get to caputuring a vault.

I have the same three contestants since the start of playing the finals. I'd like to have an option where you can copy i.e. "Medium 1" and work on your new contestant from there. I don't wanna set up another contestant with all expressions, stickers, gun skins etc.
You cannot balance off of the casual game modes. Cashout is the core game mode and balancing should focus solely on that - other modes should have modifiers to compensate (ie no sniper in power shift)

Something I really liked about the finals was the non aggressive micro transactions.
I have noticed that the micro transactions have gotten more aggressive recently with things like the ultimate battle pass, wheels, esports bundles that cost 10 real bucks and give no multi bucks. And the lack of FREE cosmetics with events.
It is frustrating for me to see the game turn to more monetization that's less consumer friendly. It's not as bad as other games don't get me wrong, but crates are just another avenue of monetization
I would say the devs should add skins that you can work towards unlocking either as more level up cosmetics or let you purchase skins for vrs or something of the sort. Adding skins you could purchase with vrs would add another use for a currency that's redundant for high level players without adding additional currency for the player to keep track of.
With all the feedback about Winch - I think a simple solution should be that Winch brings YOU closer to the enemy instead of the other way around⦠youād have to be more cognizant about when to use it because you could be bringing yourself into danger⦠instead of winching someone else into your team.

The FCAR deals 23 damage at 540 RPM, which is 540 / 60 = 9 bullets per second.
If we assume ~250 ms to register the dash, flick, and reacquire the target, that is 9 * 0.25 = 2.25 bullets effectively lost.
At 23 damage per bullet, that is 23 * 2.25 = ~52 damage avoided, even against perfect aim.
And 250 ms is not just "reaction time" - it includes reaction + flick + aim correction, which is already a high-level assumption. Most players will take longer, meaning the effective HP gained is often even higher.
In practice, the Light often only needs to tank 1-2 bullets before reacting and pressing dash. They mitigate ~50 HP instantly without fully paying that reaction-time tax, because the disengage interrupts the opponent's tracking mid-spray.
So yes, this actually reinforces the original point:
Other specialisations have clear tradeoffs. Dash does not. You can press it three times, effectively gaining ~150 HP while still maintaining offensive pressure.

also at the end of the day you should not be having a problem with dash, it is purely a skill issue that CAN be overcome. People predicting tracer's recall(a 3s position reversal) is what sets you apart from the rest and lets u hit gm/top500 in Overwatch.
Invis players can sit around a corner or in off angles and simply start every fight with an ~80hp advantage that is irrelevant of the victims skill. They trade mobility and map presence for this ability, but an argument could be made that it ignores player skill more than the winch claw even, since you can at least see the heavy and dome/winch/glitch.

As a CL user i can say it's easy to counter us in 1v1. As a light, you have the most dps in the game, why do u expect high hp with that? I need 2 slow shots to kill you, one of which is mostly splash (e.g. low dmg) or bugged (e.g. shoulder direct hit doesn't register, no dmg). Also, stop going alone against whole teams. Play with your team, engage together, or even let your mates engage first, then go and hit.
Sonars are not supposed to be some sort of stun grenades when we are being detected!! Please remove totally the HUD effect when being detected by sonar, detectors and tracker dart: a LITTLE and simple "you are tracked " phrase or symbol + the sound feedback is enough!
And while i'm at it, the damage effect is very annoying too (screen shaking and corruption effect on the edge of the screen). Yes i'm being shot at, but let me enjoy the view while i die or i manage to cook a response.

Gun has a higher chance to put enemies on fire when using the fanning action or only headshot when aiming down sights.
Half the QC games I play as a solo queue when I first log in, are games already in progress in which the game is lost. The two other teams have a cash out each, and my team has 0 cash outs and close to 0 kills.
I then close the game, itās infuriating to think a guaranteed loss as the first game is optimal fun. Whatās the point.

Serious feedback on Sword
I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)

Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.
This would make the game feel boring, build variety/comp variety allows matches to feel different from each another (at least when not everyone is running meta)
Overwatch used to have different team comps that could work but now it's just 2-2-2 cause of role queue

Grenade launchers are way too op
Some ideas for the melee rework you are currently working on. Melee is sort of in a weird spot right now. Most of them aren't that viable at higher levels, and some of them are somewhat oppressive in casual lobbies. Part of the skills for melee are both tactical and mechanical. Making the higher level viable should focus on those aspects of the weapons.
A suggestion that has floated about is to have melee's have unique quick melee and reload key attacks. This could hit both notes of tactical and mechanical skills. An example would be to give spear its spin on reload, add a throw on secondary make its primary just stabs and the quick melee the current sweep which is its current first attack. I believe most weapons would have some unique features that they could interact with especially the reload button.
Another example would be current dagger: what if the reload key would activate a silent steps ability that reduces the sound output by the player for a few seconds on a moderate cooldown. Dagger has notoriously only really been viable with dash, but this would allow for a different power fantasy to be fulfilled with specs like cloak and grapple. This requires careful balance to not be to ruinnous for newer players ofcourse, it should be playtested internally plenty. There are plenty ideas to tinker with. What if sword does a backwards hop on the reload key, or riot switches stance by placing the shield on their back and having a secondary attack now.
Adding these layers of mechanical skill would add to the viability through sheer tactical flexibility while also increasing the skill ceiling.
Another note of feedback on melee is that some weapons have clunkiness that hinder skill expresion. Spear for example is already considered a weak weapon, but also locks into 3 spins on secondary. The rotation clamp on sword should probably only affect the sword hitbox and not the camera. These examples feel like arbitrary handicaps instead of a weapons tactical weakness.
u just want an easy game, not having to think about what counters the opposing team comp⦠i know it makes the game more difficult having to think: do we need more poke? do we need more sustain? does our enemy team have a lot of movement? a lot of health? potentially many defibs? what does out team need to counter that? how do we adapt our playstyle to the opposing team?
this is what makes the finals challenging and engaging.
not mastering 1 build to perfection, but having to adapt to changing variables in the many interactions in the game.

How to correctly balance the 93R (its current TTK is awful)
The 93R's current TTK is even worse than it was pre-S5 and in my honest opinion it is subpar versus other light class options (like the ARN, the XP-54, the V9S and the LH1).
This weapon gets out-damaged in most cases by the FAMAS (across all classes), a similar 3-round burst weapon with 4 more rounds in the magazine present in the medium class, which has 100 more HP.
In my opinion it doesn't make sense that the light class burst weapon has... less DPS potential than the medium class burst weapon?
Proposed 93R changes:
Damage: 24** (same)**
Burst delay: 0,275s > 0,23s
This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):
Body:
light: 0,81s -> ** 0,72s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)

These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R. This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.
With these changes, the 93R will not 2 burst lights with body shots only, which was the product of an oversimplified "nuclear" buff made in Season 5.
This proposal will also make the 93R less capable to poke at long range due to lower minimum and maximum drop-off ranges, leaving that task to options such as the ARN and the LH1 (preserves the weapon niche).

Even if it's not 40Āŗ,as long as any form of aim lock exists,sword will have the most idiotic handling. Since the rotation clamp is clearly the biggest thing that makes the weapon unusable, it should not exist in the game at all.You should just revert sword back to how it was in S1 and S2, when there was no multi-hit. Sword back then was a bit weak, but thatās okay. Itās better than receiving a dumb patch that destroys the weaponās original identity, even if itās a weaker weapon.

Every weapon, when in close range, can naturally move behind the enemy or slide behind and look back to hit. And dagger is a weapon specifically designed for that. So are you going to add aim lock to all weapons? Why, sword canāt look back like all do? Every weapon can naturally look back. But sword alone is restricted from doing that? Why do you discriminate only against the sword by calling it an āexploitā when all melees and weapons can do it?
Wildly spinning the aim actually wasnāt used, It was used only in very rare cases dumb enemies were stupidly stacked in one spot.
If you want to solve the problem, then just remove multi-hit.
Even if spins wildly, theyād only hit one target. That solves the problem. The problem was solved without unfairly messing with the controls. Of course, dmg must also be reverted. Just revert it to S1.

And then in the next vault fight those same team camped the vault went away and again camped the box and another team came to 3p us and that prev team just waited. Just read the patch notes for respec order, and safe to say Iām concerned. I understand that itās a test, but the community has the right to be concerned that this is even being considered in the first place.
Personally, I donāt think that the proposed L/H changes would be good. One of the core identities behind THE FINALS is how fundamentally different the three archetypes play, based off of simply how tanky heavies are, and how obnoxious lights are to hit. Thatās one of the reasons THE FINALS is so good, the archetypes actually feel fundamentally different and require different play styles.
Tightening the gap with movement speed and health will just dilute the classes together, which is not a step that Iād like to see in the game. Lights being able to take 1 more shot in a fight is a big difference for some guns. Heavies being slightly faster could open up new movement opportunities for a class that, by design, is meant to not be very mobile.
Each class has its strengths and weaknesses, and the core stats (where they are now at least) exemplify that. Sure, itās more frustrating for new players, but thatās because theyāre used to games like Apex or COD. If thatās the reason for wanting to test this, focus on player onboarding elements instead.

There has never been a matchmaking system in this game, never. Not even Embark believes their own patch notes when they talk about "matchmaking" or "matchmaking improvements." Given the number of active players the game has, which is only going to get worse, it's impossible to create a matchmaking system that's fair for everyone. So, inevitably, this game will be left for 1000 players or less, who are people who are unemployed and whose only goal in life is to reach ruby rank.
Thereās better melee systems in other games where truly mastering melee means more than just looking in someoneās direction and tapping their button melee takes away from what I feel should be a viable and ok weapon class thatās not as looked down on as it is and if they made the melee some kind of different control system it could definitely be that but right now itās not and itās going to continue to be looked down on until a change along those lines is made. Now that being said I have no idea how theyāre going to make that change but it needs to be done sooner rather than later.
The health and speed changes seem interesting, and Iām open to testing them next update. But even before we actually get to play with these changes, I already have one essential request. Increase the sword lunge damage to 140. This change has been something ive been campaigning for with other proposed changes, but now it is even more essential. Without it, a lunge + qm wonāt kill a 175 health light, and, as weāve seen before, that makes sword practically useless. Please, prove you want to have melee be viable and actually give us something.

The majority of melee weapons are currently in C tier, and are objectively difficult to win with in high elo, which in turn means that they require more skill to win with than all of the meta guns.
If youāre having problems against melee, you need to work on your movement and positioning.
The upcoming melee rework stated that it will make mastering melee more rewarding, so the overall value/effectiveness of melee at high elo is likely to go up, not down (ie overall buff rather than a nerf)
We do not need respec. I already hate the idea of this and genuinely do not trust yall to re balance weapons to fit it. Yall have done a lot of good but your weapon balance had not been the best. The ks was in an unreliable state for a long time. The pike has been in a horrid state for 2 seasons and the xp 54 just is kinda there. Even if the health change is a good idea the numbers and how much each health each class gets doenst feel right. Lights do not need more hp. Weapon balance has not been yalls strong suit and I genuinely do not trust yall to not fuck up multiple weapons with this change.

Please dont go through with these changes. All classes are very well balanced right now (especially light and heavy while medium is slightly weaker than both). This has been a core mechanic of the game for years and there hasnt been an issue with it. Light has higher dps weapons, a much smaller hitbox and movement tools to compensate for its lower hp. Making classes more similar in health/speed/anything would just destroy their identities and actually make light overpowered.
It took you 3 years to get balancing to a relatively good state. Please dont ruin it with a change that nobody asked for and nobody would like.

Even though I'm not a melee player, I really like your idea of increasing the number of attacks/moves from 2 to 4. This would make melee in general and melee vs. melee in particular a lot more interesting, by eventually removing clunky combos and letting players choose their own attacks with different ranges, damage and speed.
I think QM/LMB/RMB could be attacks ranging from quickest/lowest range and damage to slowest/highest range (lunge) and damage, with R being a defensive move (raising the shield/blades, pushing back enemies, dashing backwards...)
Giving all weapons a similar pattern would make learning/transitioning easier.
To add more depth: a combo system where using two different attacks successively grants minor speed/damage/range buffs to the third attack, or a whole different attack, giving players incentive to not just spam one attack (as seen with Sword LMB)
Even more depth: missing your target with RMB and/or the third hit of a combo gives the user movement/attack speed penalties for a very short time, making them high risk/high reward moves.

I don't trust the health changes and I think going through with keeping it will muddle the classes together, which will just remove more differences that the classes are supposed to support another. That being said I don't mind it if they experiment with it for a week. I do think most people who'll cheer for it are gonna be Lights that have bad positioning and this being just a safeguard. The heavies I genuinely cannot see it changing all that much for them.
The speed changes are gonna be interesting, but I feel like Lights are going to complain about it a lot and Heavies are gonna be even scarier, especially since they are the strongest class already. 25 HP is nothing to them
Interested in seeing how this plays out, but I feel like most people already know this is gonna be a bad idea, but hey maybe we are wrong (This will bring a lot of damage rebalances tho and based on past experiences it's going to be a mess)
If we adressing speed and health we cant ignore health regen. Heavy is already have to make team wait a lot and it feels awful. If you want to make team stick together and have less downtime heavy recovery speed or delay should be improved as well

It will be very difficult to provide feedback with breakpoints against L getting worse (favored for the Light) during the experiment if there aren't other weapon tuning changes in play at the same time.
If everyone is running around with ARs and full auto DPS weapons it's less of a problem, but burst/break point centered weapons and playstyles are hard to evaluate honestly during the test.
Add a mechanism that instantly recover health when someone get a kill.
Upon securing a kill, health regeneration should begin immediately, at the same speed as normal health regeneration, and can be interrupted.
TF is the only game I've played where, in a 1v3 situation, killing one and running away is a loss.
Rescuing someone takes only five seconds, while health regeneration takes 7 to 10 seconds.
Therefore, killing one and running away in a 1v3 situation is extremely disadvantageous; the person is revived in five seconds, while you're still waiting for health regeneration.
The only way to win team fights in this game is to constantly maintain a numerical and health advantage, because rescuing is faster than health regeneration. Often, you kill one, then chase after a low-health enemy, only to find them revived again.
A situation where only one person remains is unwinnable; you can only drag it out until a teammate uses a coin to revive.
Furthermore, the inability to regenerate health makes solo melee incredibly difficult. Without a healer, you're constantly waiting for health regeneration.
The reason why everyone in the entertainment mode is play light is because everyone is waiting for health regeneration; only the light, being fast, can get it.
I donāt know whatās going on with ranked but I was going up in rank fine until I had 3 really bad games in a row with teammates leaving. Now all of a sudden Iāve just been going down in rank every single game for 3 weeks straight I havenāt had a good game of ranked since those 3 games. Itās like the game capped my skill level for coming last in those rounds, but how was I supposed to win without any teammates
Buffing light health is a terrible move. Players that are good with light already do not need a health buff, this is going to scare away new players because pro light players will be able to be more aggressive than ever before.
Sincerely disappointed this is the direction youāre choosing to go.

respec's goal seems to make teamwork even less applicable by giving light even more reason to leave their team behind as now they will be tankier and more forgiving and heavy's will die even faster to their guns that argueably kill to fast anyways... if respec goes through I'm betting there will be a spike in light players and they will all just be running around like it's CoD. Though at this rate that might be what embark wants š¤®

I really wish there was an "All Chat" option in the game. Being able to talk to the other teams would be a nice feature. This might make the chat more toxic but... it will definitely feel nice.
If this is not possible in rank match, then "All Chat" can be an option for non-ranked matches.
If this feature promotes "ganging up" on teams, then adding this to game mode like Point Break, Power Shift and Team Deathmach wouldn't hurt.
If somehow none of this is possible... adding a ping wheel that everyone can see would be good.

- "DON'T SHOOT/TIMEOUT"
- "FOCUS ON THE LEADER"

Embark has good intent, and what they learn from this event is solely based on realistic constructive input. you should do something about smurfing in this game, it's so out of hand, and something you need to address as you'll never keep new players with that shit
agreed. so many other ways to address this "disparity":
- give heavy an optional burst of speed
- provide mobility options everyone can enjoy
- make lights almost impossible to target (half my height, fast, invisible, ziplines)
- make one-shots on lights available to heavy difficult to pull off (say, institute an altfire on hammer that could do it)

Got sent into an active Power Shift match, spawn, the platform is just meters away from reaching the enemy point, immediately choose to leave, wait the 5 seconds, and during said 5 seconds, a Light kills me with the Dagger, lmaooo
Respec Order is a solid idea for keeping teams coordinated. However, on spawn, Lights often use their Evasive Dash to immediately break away from the group. Reducing its charge by one would help balance the specialisation overall, while also discouraging players from splitting off and getting picked off alone.
It might be worth going further and experimenting with removing body types altogether in favour of a playstyle builder. The current system, with different sizes, health pools, health regen, and movement speeds, creates significant balancing challenges. A unified baseline, would make it much easier to tune weapons, gadgets, and specialisations, while also making the game more approachable for new players.
I have 800 hours in the game, spread evenly across all "bodytypes" (lmao) and the speed thing is not an issue. They're just coping on behalf of all the light mains whinging about winch claw and noobs/shtters that can't handle heavy's TTK. The new, crappy spawns have already ensured that any "bodytype" can reenter the fray at a rate which feels faster than the surviving team's health recharge.
It's entirely about reducing skill floor and ceiling and overall skill expression.
Gotta maintain dat perpetual chaos n shiet so zoomers will play the game. The same cohort less likely to exhibit conservative spending on MTXs.

The changes being proposed seem to stem solely from the developers' wanting the job of balancing to be easier for them, consequences be damned. Because you guys are clearly busy working on bigger things, like not actually giving us a new map, right?
I know you guys don't really care about balancing opinions if they don't come from the ESPORTS crew of Ruby Twitch streamers but I'd hope you'd at least consider the financial implications of upsetting a large number of your playerbase.
It's been ten seasons worth of changes, a solid 80% of which have been heavy/medium nerfs and light buffs and lights still believe their class is somehow oppressed. They will believe this even if you give them 225 HP. The mere mention of a 10% speed nerf for them is enough to offset any buff you might try and give them.
Meanwhile the game will become even more unapproachable to new players, which maybe doesn't matter anymore to you guys and you're okay with just coasting off the existing playerbase before sunsetting it in a year but I'd hope you care, at least slightly, about the game and not just the excel spreadsheet.
You mention you will do a full rebalance of all weapons in the game to account for this, yet you know what the result of this will be - necessary nerfs to light weapons, which will bring about another wave of complaints based on nothing but mindless hysteria, and I know for a fact you would never have the balls to do something truly daring like buff the Sledgehammer, meaning the heavy HP nerf will make it even more of a retired legacy weapon than it already is.
Unless you're willing to do anything meaningful like nerf light damage by an actually substantial amount, the increased HP combined with the existence of the Heal Infuser will easily make LLL/LLM the optimal team. And since we all know you will never dare give light any meaningful nerfs, this is guaranteed to be the case.

The spin attack is presumably not cancellable for a reason, fine. But part of what makes it frustrating is how easy it is to accidentally right click during intense moments, and this can get you killed, it's a big issue. So how about, clicking the right click again immediately after triggering it, but only before the first damage hitbox comes in, cancels it.
I think it would make spear feel a lot less frustrating to use! Hopefully without messing up whatever the intended balance and strategy is.

This change would destroy a lot.. The speed difference is stupid. If you say that is for not experienced players to be more together, they need to understand and learn it... Otherwise the speed isnt a problem. But the change of hp would even destroy more.. A lot of melee combos wouldnt work anymore. Anyway here is some feedback from me:
Health Changes:
This doesnāt make much sense to me. As someone who plays light about 40% of the time I understand how frustrating it is to be killed in the blink of an eye.
However, lights also have some very high DPS weapons and plenty of movement to make them a hard target to hit. So while on paper you die really fast, in reality you are able to stand your ground against other classes. Even if you canāt win a head on fight, light has always been about using movement and positioning to gain the advantage anyway.
It seems to me that the idea of a light health buff came from players who 1. arenāt experienced enough to use light to its fullest, or 2. Are salty about dying a little too fast to another class (also because they arenāt skilled enough)
I also find it confusing that you said other games use health regeneration rules to balance varying health while failing to mention that it is already implemented in the finals. Each and every class has its own regeneration delay and speed to help balance the classes. (Although this system admittedly has its flaws, but believe those could be addressed with @stark pilotās genius idea above)
Not to mention, the sheer amount of rebalancing all at once required for this change to actually payoff would cause enormous confusion and drama among players.
Speed Changes:
This change, to me, has some potential, but if itās overtuned I believe it could cause major backlash.
Speed is a core part of each classes identity and I feel like making these speeds closer to one another could lead to a further loss of uniqueness among classes.
Additionally, base movement speed alone will not fix the problems you want to address. Those problems are largely due to the lack of movement options on heavy.

I think that devs should do something Iāve seen in Brawhalla (I hate that game but theyāve done one thing right) which is to have a permanent āexperimentalā mode in which there is new tweaks and temporary balance changes restricted to that one gamemode. Concerning 10.3, Iām concerned about how these changes are going to affect the health of melee in the game, which is already in a sad state. Lights retain their annoying mobility tools while gaining a boost in survivability, making melee players work even harder. I think these health and speed changes can be implemented well but to do so requires changes to the other systems impacted by it. For melee I think the future rework needs to focus on the usability features of the weapons, such as removing swords camera lock while removing cleave/multi hit or making dual blades deflect more consistent. I think melee for light needs to be built around single target assasinations, mediums in more weird utility, and heavy in destruction and wide sweeping damage. The health changes are going to make this a lot harder to deal with lights and coupled with bandaid fixes like sword camera-lock will make the volatile feelings of melee success even more disparate, slicing and dicing heavies while watching a light disappear into the sunset with 25hp
Point being: I love love love that experiments are being implemented but there is a LOT to be addressed and also I miss good melee š

Making the heavy faster and the light slower is so dumb. As a light, sledge heavies already have a boost already and can catch up to you very quickly even after you dash back to back. These balance changes donāt balance anything.

I can see that the light main dev/playtester has the controls over balancing again.
So now the repeater cant two tap a light without a headshot included but can 4 shot a heavy now. Which is the stand out weapon that gets nerfed/buffed in this balance change.
And there's no mention of changing the healing factor for light or heavy. So now heavy will take just as long to heal for less and light gets more health and heals just as quick.
TDM is already full of clip farming lights so I hope this test run doesnt come to fruition across the board.

My friend decided to play in S10 after not playing for 5 seasons and he literally has to restart his game every 2nd match because he laggs like hell but when he reconnects his audio gets fucked. Your game is in excellent state Embark, letās experiment, you are right.
Also, heavy is still a class that only has to spam everything without thinking and lights run away as soon as they get hit once because you decided to make a class that canāt hold their own in a fair fight, so they have to play like the biggest rats on the planet to have value and you wonder why new players donāt stick around.

in regards to the respec test i would be more than fine with just the walk speed changes. those would be super nice for rollouts on spawns and rotating as a group to vaults. giving lights +25 max hp will make dealing with poke weapons like bow and SR a total nightmare on most maps

the new respec mode is a great idea, please dont stop at just health value testing, please keep it as a permanent mode so you can test every single balance change that you could ever want to, that way we get balances more often, and they're backed with in field testing

Second game, After 1st player quit, second player just sat there and emoted the whole game. Cool flute manā¦. thanks for that while we got our ass handed to us. Love playing 1 vs. 3.
Soā¦.. why not do something like this. For those assholes who quit mid game, give them a steep ban. For Ranked like a 90 day ban. For Cashout a 30-45 day ban. Make it so they can only play the other modes. Who cares if they quit on Quick Cash etc. Let all the quitters play the casual modes. Let those be the only options for them. Have some consequence for quitting other game modes.
I love the finals, but I donāt love wasting 30 minutes of my time dealing with players who do absolutely nothing and run around like itās fucking Minecraft.

2 simple things Iād love the game to have that would boost the vibes immensely (maybe not for the comp side of things);
1: selectable lobby backgrounds from previous seasons. Iāve seen it requested a lot and itād be such a nice feature to have, especially with the addition of selectable sponsorships where having one from that season would maybe change the background to what they had, or making that another toggle so CNS fans arenāt left out for season 7.
2: allow the lobby music to play in matches. Rocket League has that as an option so the lobby music will continue to play into your matches and itās one of the few things I like about the game (no flame to RL fans lol). The music in this game is divine and itās a missed opportunity to let the tracks play throughout your games with a toggle in settings.
Cool so light gets buffed and dome shield becomes even more of a staple in every kit, I guess nerfing winch wasn't enough they had to buff dome more. Quit making all the semi automatic weapons so OP. We don't need a thousand fucking variations of sniper rifle for every class. It honestly ruins the game. Even if these changes aren't that bad in the long run, Embark should know that the community is going to completely lose it, especially since these changes would affect everyone.
I don't think the argument Embark made about players not sticking together is a good justification for the drama that is going to come from this. It hasn't even been that long since they annouced plans to just test it and the reaction has been brutal, and with the already declining player population, this is just going to add fuel to the fire.
So even if the changes being made were theoretically the right decision, this is still, at the very least, going to create a very unhappy crowd of individuals and has the possibly harm player engagement with the game.
Besides, Embark has had enough controversies already. We definitely don't need to deal with more, but I guess Embark has never really been known for doing good PR.

I think this is more of an issue with light's specials than the character stats. Light benefits greatly from being difficult to hit and derives much of its survivability off of that, especially with dash allowing light to gain very easy damage avoidance three times in a row. Light is already very potent because of this, and doesn't need more survivability on top of it. If this change is going through, then light's abilities should receive tweaks accordingly
i don't mind the health & movespeed changes, i actually think they're a good idea. though i think the amount of hp changed in relation to movespeed should be changed. heavies get -25 hp, a 7% difference, while lights get +25 hp, a 16% difference. this would be fine if lights were getting more of a movespeed nerf, but as far as we know it's the same.
of course it's not a huge issue & heavies are definitely already better than lights, so maybe it's deserved, but i think it might be something to consider

Love how lights gonna get more health for this event but they have the M11 which is absurdly broken with its reload speed and fire rate. Then their sword mixed with dash so even if you do hit them, it doesnāt register. A broken healing item, invisibility that is silent when theyāre standing still, and so much more. Thereās so much glaze for this class and it needs nerfs bad.

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.
First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.
Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.
The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.
So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.
Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.
The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant. The server sided calculation of it has been bugged ever since it got introduced but has never been adressed. In the current season flicking the lunge will still yank back your entire camera and make accurate aiming impossible.
I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole and has only gotten worse in the beginning of season 10 but of course it increases the frustration for alot of people. Hit detection, desyncs and server performance in general should be a heavy focus for you because it is very frustrating and from experience playing with alot of different people a big reason people ragequit or in general leave the game. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.
Changes
M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)
Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 136 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed
Other Feedback
Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.
Small QOL Updates You have so many good features that would be little work for you but would impact the community positively and fill the content breaks. One example would be releasing the collected data about weapons etc. as an api just like for example "op.gg" or "lolalytics" from League of Legends. Collab with the talented people in your community that already built sites like the leaderboard/bans/rename tracker. Other ones would be changing the weapon stats to numbers instead of a vague bar so it's more readable, adding assists to the profile or having a simple match history that locally saves the stats of the last 10 games or so.

You say this, but don't realize that in higher level gameplay you wont even get time to use all 3 dashes. If you're caught by surprise at ALL, even by a quarter of a second, you're dead. Getting caught in the open when I'm moving around kills me so fucking often, and I literally HAVE to be in the open sometimes.
I think these changes are interesting, not totally sure how they effect the highly imbalanced Light v Heavy meta going on. I don't think heavies needed to be any faster, and if what you say, that it wont effect TTK much, is true, it's not gonna change the issue.

add new build called the very-heavy. He should have 550 health and be unable to attack or move on his own. You may be wondering what he would do and why people would play him... and they wouldn't, but it'd be really funny.
Removing the stun gun makes no sense when you look at actual gameplay. It was annoying, but it only slowed you and messed with movement. You could still aim and shoot back, so there was counterplay. Meanwhile, heavyās winch is still in the game and itās way more oppressive. If a heavy winches you, you canāt use abilities, canāt properly use your weapon, your charge gets canceled, and youāre forced into point-blank range against the highest HP class. Thatās basically death, especially with a shotgun or teammates nearby.
Lights already have the lowest HP and die to almost everything. Mines, turrets, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, even breaking a turret can take half your HP. Lights have been nerfed again and again, including dashes and weapons, yet people still complain. If light was really overpowered, more players would actually use it and see how hard it is to survive on 150 HP.
Meanwhile mediums and heavies have extremely strong, low TTK weapons. Repeater, R.357, Model 1887, Cerberus, all can delete lights in 2ā3 shots with far less risk. Heavies can even two-shot lights. So the āhigh DPSā argument doesnāt hold when other classes kill just as fast while being tankier and more forgiving.
Right now it feels like balance is based on players who canāt deal with lights instead of actual gameplay. Light is supposed to be high risk, high reward, but instead it keeps getting nerfed while medium and heavy stay low risk, high reward.
If winch stays, stun gun should come back for fairness. At least stun gun had counterplay, winch doesnāt.
Itās honestly pathetic to see mediums and heavies still crying in Season 10 after Light has been nerfed so many times, and they still complain. That just shows how skillless those players are.

I have qued into an unacceptable amount of duo quers playing off meta lights both with no healing or gateways too many times, disallowing duos is the easiest solution for future seasons because its killing the solo ranked experience & competitive integrity. if duos want to throw games let them go to WT that's what it's for or let them find a third, solo queing quality of life should take precedence over it because that's the first thing most new players experience. if the problems with solo que are ignored it hurts the game life more than any other thing, there are other solutions but removing duos in Ranked is the easiest and fastest one to do and it reduces playlist size to only solos and trios which is player count friendly. -

Add a mechanism that instantly recover health when someone get a kill.
Upon securing a kill, health regeneration should begin immediately, at the same speed as normal health regeneration, and can be interrupted.
TF is the only game I've played where, in a 1v3 situation, killing one and running away is a loss.
Rescuing someone takes only five seconds, while health regeneration takes 7 to 10 seconds.
Therefore, killing one and running away in a 1v3 situation is extremely disadvantageous; the person is revived in five seconds, while you're still waiting for health regeneration.
The only way to win team fights in this game is to constantly maintain a numerical and health advantage, because rescuing is faster than health regeneration. Often, you kill one, then chase after a low-health enemy, only to find them revived again.
A situation where only one person remains is unwinnable; you can only drag it out until a teammate uses a coin to revive.
Furthermore, the inability to regenerate health makes solo melee incredibly difficult. Without a healer, you're constantly waiting for health regeneration.
The reason why everyone in the entertainment mode is play light is because everyone is waiting for health regeneration; only the light, being fast, can get it.

light is the best class in the game that caters to babies yet you guys keep buffing the weapons and the class itself. why? 3 dashes that you can basically spam to trump card out of fights. a double barrel shotgun that can almost two tap every class. a sniper that has zero fall off and is practically hitscan. all of the smgs can outrange ar's other than like the mac 10. they have more ammo than ar's they have a dmr that AGAIN out classes almost all of the ranged weapons medium and heavy have to offer. and then you proceed to buff their health so they take longer and are harder to kill. thank you john finals thank you so much for continuing to ruin your game
What are these huge changes(apart from this) you speak of?
I love the goo change as it'll make it less frustrating, to feel like you can't do anything against it and it's just a "wait to your death" situation. Though this change doesn't address what I feel is the most frustrating part of goo:
- The ability to instantly cancel any possible cashout steal
- The ability to absolutely nuke an APS turret while just needing to reload to get it back
Most specialization in the game have insane cooldowns, and some gadget have long cooldown, so having a specialization that is semi-automatic, and just needs to reload seems EXTREMELY unfair, especially since it's the highest HP class having it.
There's a need for goo gun to either have a longer reload, or/and reduce greatly its ammo to reduce the frustration one can feel against it.
Cause, right now, if you try to sneak a steal, with aps turret, the heavy just need to shoot 6 times to successfully cancel you and your aps.
And I'm suggesting this because I don't think the APS needs a buff, it's quite good where it's at currently.
And while the change will make it less likely to die from goo, it'll only calm down half of the frustration it has.

I think if you burst a healing ball while held it should instantly give you 25-75hp and trigger regen. Also if bursted in hand it should follow the contestant instead of stay on the ground.
Same thing with pyro. If a pyro hits a player they should burst into flames and be guaranteed 100hp of damage to that player as tick, while still burning teammates or enemies even if nearby.
Also, in order to make the floating platform gadget more interesting I think you should add buttons on it for ascend/descend

I really dislike that the videos that play on game startup are tied to your in game music volume setting. It doesn't make sense to me. I always miss out on the video audio because of this. Does anyone know where I can rewatch the videos that I missed audio from?
The goo nerf is UNACCEPTABLE.
It completely invalidates a set of high skill floor playstyles and makes them completely useless. These playstyles such as heavy sledge good gun were neither oppressive in high elo, nor had a high pick rate.
This is an unacceptable change that will make me stop playing if it isn't reverted.
sliding is broken after todays patch, you randomly lose momentum and it feels omega ass
this updated absolutely broke sliding and ruined movement. you'd better fix this asap via a hotfix. and while you're at it, PLEASE just decrease the friction and bring back sliding like back in OB. Movement is such a fun and integral part of skill expression in this game and by far one of the most unsatisfying things is how muddy and clunky sliding feels cuz of the insane friction.
also hitreg is worse than ever. while the desync isn't as bad as during the betas and S1, dealing damage feels insanely inconsistent, more than ever before. i don't know if the issue lies with the new weapon system or the old one or something else entirely but its frustrating as hell. speaking of frustrating and weapons: ever since this season started i've been having moments where i try to shoot but only shoot one bullet and then just stop shooting while still holding down m1, still adsing. i'm not sure if its caused by too many inputs; it seems to mostly happen when i try to slidejump into ads shooting but either way its absolutely detrimental when it happens.
also: NERF WINCH BRO its low skill, hitbox is still broken as shit and constantly hits u when it shouldn't and as a light you're dead to a single q press 9 times out of 10. Decrease the stun at least. Nerfing goo gun before nerfing winch is genuinely insane.
I suggest adding a hunger games theme with new weaponary like spears and actuall fans to hand combat. Also add a new game mode about hunger games with a cornucopia and all the contestants in a circle and when the game starts they have to run into the middle of an area which contains a cash box, canisters, and land mines. You should also add hunger game mutts which are practically hostile mobs. I also recommend you adding poisonous for that appears in the game randomly or some lighting that can target a player. If you are adding the hunger games theme add the characters like Katniss, Peeta, Haymitch, and Gale.
I just want to put out there that sword is now unplayable against anyone who has half a brain cell there are no quick melee combos, they increased the amount of time needed between each part of a combo.

I was ranking with my friend. He disconnected during the final round due to a game crash.
He tried to reconnect but failed because the game version had just been updated.
We won the 2v3, but he still got -750 RS as a punishment.
This is frustrating. Many of my friends have already left this game because of these issues.
Please don't penalize disconnections during Trio.
Killing reshaper cycle without mentioning patch note is brutal
they did not realize that this tech was also primarily used around mainly melee weapons and was hard enough to use overall for burst damage guns because of the swap speed and chambering for some guns not being viable BEFORE the changes. overall, they killed short ranged and melee heavy by doing this, but didn't get rid of the overall problems that goo grenades and goo guns did to cashout steals. overall, they just ruin sledgehammer heavy in casual matches, made it even harder for other melee classes to block incoming damage/catchup to people, and just didn't solve the problems that people hated around this tool. it is a bad change and it spits in the face of what changes they are planning to do to fix melee weapons in season 11. on top of this no quick melee after swinging a sledgehammer. no sliding while charging up a heavy melee attack for sledgehammer, no sliding while swinging melee weapons, for classes like light and medium. They killed sledgehammer, sword, dagger, and dual blade combos for no reason because of the quick melee being neutered and it didn't change ANYTHING FOR THE RANGED WEAPONS WHO THINKS OF QUICK MELEE AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT. Dash, Charge 'N Slam, APS Turret and stuff like Jump Pads and Shockwave, These were the Counter to being stunned by goo. yet some people in this thread think that this is a good change to something that was never a problem.

Coming from somebody whoās played since launch, the healing meta has little to do with it, slow-firing weapons have always had to have really awkward balancing due to them deleting lights otherwise. Pike is a great example of this, doing pitiful ttk across the board to prevent it from wiping a specific class away instantly

- After using the heal beam, switching back to the FAMAS will often make the gun fire the first burst unintentionally. This issue was fixed a while ago but has since come back with the release of S10.
Respec Order flawed philosophy
- Tightening the movement speed gap between the 3 classes for the sake of new players (who have not yet learned how to pace themselves properly, particularly Lights) goes against part of the design philosophy that has made the 3 classes feel unique and powerful in their own ways. Shrinking the stratification of movement speed and health pools will lead to a more dull experience for both Heavy and Light players. Let Heavys be slow and tanky, and let Lights be fast and weak. If folks want a middle ground between the two, Medium exists.
Ranked RS system is flawed
- If players place at their seeding, they should not be losing RS. Further, something ought to be done to combat the amount of smurf/alt accounts there are in ranked. Often times, I will be 1st or 2nd seed going into the match thinking I have a good shot at winning, only to get slammed by the 7th seed with 3 players who are on low level accounts. A possible solution is to require all new users to link a phone number to their account before they can begin playing ranked.

Make Arn-220 "Hollow fine print" compatible with the animations: "on the flip side" and "double up".
The Hollow fine prints animations are deafult and I dont see a reason why these animations wouldnt be compatible with the skin.
Also,
could u make combat cleaners make heel sound while sprinting and walking.
I dont think this would alter gameplay but it sure would give A LOT of satisfaction hearing the heels.

Just wanted to share a bug I found: the new change to slide speed threshold will sometimes cause your character to "buckle" when initiating a slide at very low speeds, wherein your character will initiate the slide animation, but it will instantly end after a tenth of a second and return you to crouch state. It makes feedback very poor on when you are capable of sliding.
This solo queue playing against only pre made 3 stacks in quick cash is becoming boring. Average wait time 1 minute, and thatās what I was getting, do ok against pre mades⦠then a 6 minute queue time to vs sweatier pre made 3 stacks all above level 100, while my team is solo queue low levels.
fps drops and stuttering STILL present in the older maps, please optimize them to the same as starlight hollow
also i find light melee weapons hitting enemies cannot perform quick melee attacks

The movement speed changes being justified by a lack of skill from new players and inability to wait for their teammates feels a bit dumb. Considering instead that it's just to counterbalance the hp changes I think this is not a great approach. This game is one I would consider fairly asymmetrical and while not having both sides having access to completely different kits that the other does not. The speeds,hp values, weapons and gadgets of the classes being so radically different is a good thing. It gives them all a strong identity and very different playstyles and considerations when approaching fights. Please don't go in the direction of standardisation or blending the 3 classes closer together. I don't believe improving arrival times at objectives is a justifiable excuse for the movespeed reduction on light and although heavy feels much better now light feels painfully slow and has lost a lot of his advantage compared to the other classes which is one part that actually gives him the tools necessary to flank and outmanouvre opponents. 10 off light and 10 to heavy also = 20% change
Speaking specifically about weapon balance I think there's other ways to make balancing easier while not changing the core class identities. For example you could add differing levels of armor to each of the classes and then balance weapons with an armor penetration stat. This way you could specifically tune how good a weapon is against each class instead of trying to bring the classes closer together.
And I will say any sort of stun mechanic that doesn't really have any counterplay(Cant really 'dodge' goo gun shots or do much of anything once stuck) will feel oppressive and basically all heavy sledge players will disapprove of the goo nerf but I believe sledge should be made viable in another way which is maybe coming in the upcoming melee change. In the short term this will piss people off and some will probably leave too but for the long term health of the game I support it.

Youāve taken one of the few niche, high-skill playstyles in the game and completely butchered it for no valid reason. Goo gun + sledge was never oppressive, never overpicked, and never a problem at ANY rank, yet somehow this is what you decided to nerf.
Good goo gun players were already rare because the playstyle actually required skill, timing, and commitment. Now it just feels worthless. The stun nerf kills the entire setup and turns sledge into a joke.

Im not denying goo gun was very annoying in stalling and chaining goo stun, but goo gun sledge is a play style Ive been trying to master across multiple seasons, and all of my progress is dead now. A very sudden nerf that kills a niche play style that was already very difficult. Sucks.
you are fixing the stuff that isn't wrong. skill issue isn't balanced by lack of possible skill expression.
what you need to do is fix the matchmaking. a good change would be a two round cashout so you don't need 24 players with the best teams getting further.

Goo gun nerf has been needed forever, as the infinite stun alone on a player was too op for a gadget, let alone everything else it does. It's still a bit too OP in my opinion, with instant cover generation, unlimited cashout stall, and limiting playing choice in entering a room. Saw a guy say the goo gun nerf was pathetic, and think he's on some odd medicinal herbs or something, as you can still do a lot of stuff on it, but the most broken thing in any game (infinite stuns) has been slightly nerfed.
Lights feel too tanky now for their gun damage. Basically every gun on light has been buffed, as they get more shots off before they die, and every gun on medium and heavy has been nerfed against them, as they need more bullets. The movement speed change was good and needed, but HP currently makes lights the only logical choice to play. (Medium main here, followed by heavy).
Also, the reshaper barrel order is random now, that's most likely a bug, but wanted to mention anyway.
Goo gun shouldve atleast be 0.4 so u atleast have time to swap to ur weapon and the goo gun was mostly used for 1v1s if it was a 2v1 u would lose most of the time and a medival season ruined all the melee weapons cuz of shockwave and why remove it now when ppl are getting used to using it its been in the game for a while now so why remove it when it already became the most creative specialisation and dagger not being able to one shot combo heavys cuz of the 1.5 second quick melee delay on melee weapons and it would be nice to get a refund to the money spent on this game for this to ruin melee weapons like sledge sword and dagger

The new potential changes seem great, but please also consider restructuring the bracket system in world tour and ranked. The 4 team modes are just not fun. Perhaps 3 or 2 team games, or, raising the amount of money per kill so that cashouts aren't the only source of winning the game.
Why did devs add a delay of 1.5 seconds between a melee weapon attack and a quick strike?
This change did not affect ranged weapons, I believe that this is as unfair as possible and kills melee gaming with a weapon such as a sword and others

This update is honestly a step in the right direction. The changes to light and heavy actually feel noticeable in-game. Light having more HP helps survivability, and even with the slight movement nerf it still feels fair. Heavy losing HP while getting a bit more movement also feels like a good tradeoff. Overall, the balance feels way better than before and fights feel more even now. This is definitely a good update and a move in the right direction.
That said, winch is still a huge problem and needs to go, no matter what. Itās way too oppressive and thereās barely any counterplay. Getting winched removes your ability to react, cancels your actions, and forces you into a guaranteed losing fight against a heavy. Itās the same kind of frustrating mechanic that stun gun had, except even worse, and stun gun already got removed.
Right now almost every heavy is running winch because of how strong and easy it is to use, and it just shuts down lights completely and even mediums in many situations. That kind of ability doesnāt belong in a game thatās supposed to reward skill and counterplay.
Either remove winch entirely, or bring back stun gun so thereās at least some balance between the classes. But in its current state, winch is not healthy for the game at all.

I know that many of you don't like to play against sword. I would have appreciated a nerf of the primary attack to increase the skill floor. Revert the goo lock change and I have a better suggestion to negate the stun problem.
Add a system where if a player was locked with goo 4 times, they get immunity to getting locked again for 5 seconds, essentially killing the goo stunning, but keeping goo locking alive.
Goo locking is a corner stone for goo sledge heavies, and a corner stone to goo gun players who are (btw) very very rare! you guys keep increasing highly used automatics ammo counts every patch notes, while nerfing rare playstyles over and over.

Slight movement change you say eh, from a difference between 1m/s from each class (8 for L, 7 for M, 6 for H) we directly to 0.2m/s from L to M and 0.4 from M to H, that means 0.6 from L to H when before the change is 2m/s. They fool you with 10% that seems a little but if make the math, with 12.5% reduction the L would have the same speed as the M. So guys before saying "slight change" learn how the math works

Shockwave has had a very noticeable change in how the ability functions. Compared to the amount of verticality you would get before, it is almost nothing with this new patch. It also feels like the specialization now has a speed cap on it as well. Iām sure this wasnāt intended, as it was not stated in the patch notes, but I think it is very important to fix this. The use for shockwave is to launch yourself and players in directions, with the added bonus of knocking over gadgets, but when you take away the speed and verticality of the specialization then it completely kills it and just incentivizes everyone to run Demat and Data reshape, as youāll get the perks of being able to knock gadgets away (but even better, you completely erase them), and now you have the ability to make openings. This effectively kills the shockwave and I really donāt see this ever being used by Medium players, if not addressed.

There is no way to tell what category a weapon belongs to in the game. LMG, SMG, AR, etc. Some are obvious but new players aren't going to know what counts as a launcher or explosive.

Why can we no longer slide and move properly while attacking? You just crouch. Someone can now just run away from you easily (since the lunge barely seems to activate in most cases) and you're easier to gun down. Being unable to dance around players like before feels like a pointless nerf that weakens how fun the weapon is to use.

And, what the hell is up with the quick melee change? The left click attack is now substantially weaker just from this! Adding an additional ~0.3 seconds on to time to kill against medium and light. Buffing the spin while nerfing the left click in three different ways confuses me.
As a spear main, while the right click may feel nicer to use, I think this might kill the weapon for me if left clicks are just... this pathetic now
The changes you did to slide feel terrible. Please revert it. Changing the movement speed of classes is fine, but you don't negatively change the movement feel. This isn't apex, being able to slide instantly after shooting just feels better and is more responsive especially when it comes to duelling. A small change that will significantly negatively impact this game and be noticed by others very quickly if not reverted immediately/ hotfixed

not being able to quick melee out of a melee weapon attack has been a frustrating unlisted change.
the margin for TTK in melee for riot shield, sword, and dual blades was already razor thin against prepared ranged opponents when you could quick melee combo. this especially hurts medium melee as they have worse options to escape bad engagements and heavily relied on QM to supplement melee weapon damage thresholds, and medium melee was already by far the worst option when compared to sword or sledge in terms of overall game impact and lethality within melee range.
Movement speed on the light feel horrible ... the 10% less feel like you have heavy shoes ...
Slide nerf and mouvements speed for Light feel really horrible, you canāt escape anymore, and itās way harder to chase someone. Feel like there is no real reason to play Light cause movements are dull now ...
Best way to keep a good pace of the game imo is to keep light speed like before and add 10% speed to the medium maybe with a bit less HP and 10% speed to the heavy and HP like you did. This will make this game much more fun with the same speed cohesion idea like the one you tried in this world tour event. Sliding feels off now, quick melee combos have a weird delay on them now where the melee animation must be finished before being able to quick melee with the sledge. You also now have to slide either at the same time as the sledge's heavy swing or before. You can no longer slide after your heavy swing animation has begun like you used to. None of this was mentioned in the patch notes so I figured I would mention it here. There is still a bug with the sledge and charge and slam combo where I teleport 50 feet away. It has never felt so clunky to use a sledge and I've been using it since season 1

The goo gun nerf was far too harsh.
25% of how the gun was since release is the wrong nerf, goo sledge has been fully lobotmised, I can hardly catch up in a test scenario where they simply run in a straight line away from me, if a player does ANYTHING then I can not get to them.
If you were to nerf the goo gun, I argue that it should be a mag size nerf, as you rarely have to actually reload in a fight.
0.2 second means that gooing an enemy (which was somehow not intended, despite it being in the game since launch, and with how I have none stop used it against many devs) is absolutely nothing for actual combat. It should be reverted, and instead make the goo gun mag size smaller as goo gun is almost never reloaded in combat, or when it is, its very safe and fast.
Whats even worse is that the winch is still basically untouched, its still over powered, its still meta, how can you nerf goo gun before nerfing the winch, like hello?
This was not a balance, you guys just buffed the Light class, Light has more Health, buff weapons and heavy got nerf def and lower Health now. Jump on a lobby and you will notice by the amount of light players.

Please revert the light buff; the little "scaredy-cat" now only has 75 HP less than the medium version and a hitbox twice as small. You can't be serious.
Now any medium that isnt running shockwave will not be able to save themselves from getting shredded by winch shak heavies bec of how fast the goo disperses.
and better yet, any aggressive playstyles involving goo gun are objectively dead: Goo Sledge, Goo Flamethrower, Goo Spear and Goo MGL. Just what were the balancing team thinking before releasing the balancing patch? Do you guys even play your own game?
The animations for melee weapons are bugged, from my understanding it seems you cannot interrupt any part of the animation now
This extends to trying to Quick Melee during the attack, which is required for many combos with melee weapons, but it also extends to just chaining together melee attacks in general
M1 chains on dagger, sword, especially spear, all feel slower now because, I assume, you could previously begin the second M1 during the end of the first M1, whereas now you need to wait for the first M1 to finish completely
Similarly, doing an M1 after an M2 also feels slower
Hope this gets fixed ASAP alongside the slide issues

The stun reduction from 0.8 to 0.2 is a terrible change.
While you will have the typical "it was overpowered" complaint, the fact is that it really isn't.
For one, actually executing it in practice is extremely difficult to do consistently both due to it's projectile nature and the terrible server desync; anyone who disagrees with this has in practice only ever used it against stationary targets
Secondly, it was already easy to counter in tons of different ways, such as simply holding literally any object while looking at the heavy and the blobs bounce off, dashing, pad, winch...
Using a goo gun in itself means you aren't dealing any damage, a shot that you have to aim at an enemy is a shot with a gun that could've dealt damage, on top of giving the enemy temporary invulnerability during the process.
This change does nothing to stop cashout steal stalling.
The only thing keeping hammer alive at a high level was goo's combat ability, it was insanely difficult to pull off consistently, and a reduction in the stun time was not the way to go about this; the ammo should've simply been reduced if anything or given the h+ infuser charge mechanic
Goo gun is now a completely useless spec. The only thing keeping it barely alive was its stunning ability which itself is incomparably useless compared to winch.
The reinforcing a room part has always been useless for over 6 seasons since they implemented the buildings collapsing under their own weight, on top of it already being hard countered by a single demat player or charge and slam.
So given that it is now completely useless in combat and de facto worthless for reinforcing anything since indoors cashboxes don't exist at a high level as winch players toss them to orbit in the middle of nowhere, what purpose does it serve anymore?
There WAS counterplay even with the previous stun time as melee hammer attacks had more delay than the actual stun time, making jump pad, dash and winch cancels an option and thus skill issue

Medigun's right click could have an overcharge on a long-ish cooldown that boosts a fully healed (important condition) teammate's health by like 20%, but that boost immediately starts ticking back down to their original full health (even if they're not being shot) over 5 to 10 seconds - could make for more intentional teamfights, requires a certain thoughtfulness and timing before an engagement, not during, and gives a medium with it equipped more reason to utilise it and keep their teammates healed up
- Ranked should have 1 less round (24 ā 12 players)
One Cashout round followed by head-to-head matches ā 1v2 & 3v4 ā 2v3.
- Map Voting
Every mode should have it (Overwatch approach).
- Anti-Smurf Detection
If a new account clearly performs above its skill level, it should be moved to higher-skill lobbies instead of facing new players. Repeated smurfing should lead to bans.
- Duplicate + naming features for loadouts
Similar to outfits.
- Queuing & Latency suggestions
- Show queue population and fix estimates.
- Show region to the entire party while queuing.
- Fix having to sync region with party leader so that you don't have lag.
- Show ping / packet numbers in game. Yellow/Red indicators don't have any value.
- Accessibility
Footsteps and cashout steal sounds are hard to hear because other sounds often mask them.
Add accessibility options to:
- Increase those volumes
- Flash a bigger and noticable red light in the top left of the screen when a cashout is being stolen
- Bugs
- Chat censoring. Some normal words get censored while insults pass since the chat was introduced to the game.
- Hard-stuck bug after finding a game. Workaround is to restart the game, and bug has been around for several seasons.
- Friend List is completely bugged. It shows friends connected when they are not, or playing/queueing when they are not. Introduced this season.
- Polls & Roadmap
Players who invest time/money should influence direction (OSRS approach), not only the pro scene. Game needs more focus on casual.

when you are disconnected from a match, you shouldn't be dead when you reconnect if you were alive. why not just leave your character in an idle state when you are disconnected, and if you reconnect before someone has killed you, you can just resume from where you left? if the other 2 teammates on the team die, that can still count as a wipe and kill the idle/disconnected player then if they are still disconnected.

I refuse to believe Embark ever plays on the test version of their own patches, let alone actually tries to use slide or play their own melee weapons. It feels like the developers are AKM clankers, droids, or stormtroopers, whatever you want to call it, and they donāt test functionality past āhey, guns shoot? yes, guns shoot good. okay, make update go live.ā
And then the design team feels like they have no hands whatsoever, or the devs and even the CEO are just completely disconnected, overpaid, and donāt care about their own product. Because I would put so much love and care into this game if I could work on it.
Seeing this patch go live has genuinely made me lose a lot of the remaining hope and the flicker of light and faith I had in Embark, the design and balancing department. I fully expect the melee rework to just end up being an M1-only melee weapon, with alternate fire removed, no quick melee functionality, and nothing beyond holding M1 with some absurd melee lunge like Apex had it, completely stripping away any skill expression, and still calling it a āmelee rework.ā
And honestly, at this point Iād be happy if itās anything else. Or even if it just stayed in its current state and got no changes at all, because how do you mess up this much in a single update? Changing melee and slight movement like this, and it all goes live with no hotfix, no rollback announcement, no acknowledgement even after hours of feedback.
And on top of that, an esports announcement on the same day, while the core gameplay has this little functionality stability and this many issues, just makes it feel even more disconnected from whatās actually going on in the game.

Please remember that this is a change limited to world tour! World Tour has long been getting events and such that stir and shake up the way the game feels! Even if this is a change focused more on testing than other usual events I still think it is rather immature for people to claim that the game will die within a week for a change that is limited to world tour.
I play all 3 classes quite frequently and I am enjoying all of the changes, with acknowledgements that there are and will be issues to address before even trying to change the health pools. Constructive criticism is what is needed in this channel. I agree with @waxen thicket's response/take to @faint saddle, being that it isn't the end of the world, and I also find it very disheartening to see gelz say the developers and design team don't care about their game (it is genuinely sad to see the work of embark fall on deaf ears, the fact that the game has been going strong for 10 seasons, had/has an esports league, is commercially successful, and has an open channel for anyone who plays to submit feedback, whether they've played for 10, 100, or 1000 hours. That, to me, is proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that they care.) Although bracken's message was a bit rude of a response, I also agree that you can simply play a different gamemode, or play a different game for the week.
I think that changing the health pools would be beneficial, both to the health of the game and to the credit of the devs being able to balance weapons much more effectively. Embark, I look forward to testing out the event and I currently find the changes very fun, playing as every class.
Final note though, please revert the data reshaper nerf, it was already an underutilized gadget, making it random what barrel you get when reshaping another barrel feels really bad, especially after putting in the time to memorize the cycle that it follows, please revert that specific change embark. Light shouldnāt have gotten a HP buff while having a smaller hurtbox, itās got insanely good and fast paced weapons with two weapons that can practically one shot.
Lights are meant to be glass canons with that 150 HP and really quick dmg weapons (or one shots), buffing the health even if it was just 25 hp made them significantly harder to kill since Lights are heavily mobility based.
Game already has somewhat inconsistent hurtboxes vs hitboxes, buffing characters with mini hurtboxes doesnāt do anything besides make the game not as fun.
I wanna make a quick note to anyone who reads this: treating the devs negatively and getting overly angry over a free game doesnāt make any dev listen, Iām a developer.

Hhe health change seems nonsensical. the justification being "lights get to the fight first and then die in a 3v1" that's a player issue not the light class, its not like you are limited to holding max sprint at all times. if this is the justification just remove classes and make everyone a medium. The classes should be different. making everything more similar is ridiculous. The balance in the game is something that revives a lot of praise, ttk is fairly even and most things have solid counters. Now a lot of that has been thrown out the window. I have 300 hours in the game, 80% of that is as a light. I am by no means good but survivability as light has never been an issue for me. the speed and specializations are the reason the light does not need more health. removing speed and adding health just makes the light less light and takes away from the class. I really hope this change does not become permanent.

but also a better alternative for goo, particularly goo gun is to make the stun just 0.4 and cut a little of the ammo capacity for goo gun, the problem of people bringing goo nades is not for the sake of reinforcing but because they use it actively to just do a stun, it was a bit slept on in early seasons because people didn't see how hard they were to deal against.
particularly goo locking or stunning wouldnt be as bad if the incentive for bringing anything else other than it was better, apparently no one understands that flames can clear them and is a good way to prevent the reset stalling.

I have approx 1000 hours played with the goo gun and I loved this game for its niche playstyles. It was one of the most fun I have had in any game ever. And why cant embark just tweak the values a little if they feel the "stun" was op. Maybe drop it down to 0.6 first and see how it plays out. The combination of sliding tackles and close combat weapons with fast close combat is completely ineffective. Is this what you call balance? It would be better not to do it at allššš

Hello! I wanted to ask if by chance anyone else has noticed an issue with ping in their rounds after this patch? I tried testing my connection in other games and it seems fine like always, but The Finals have been super ROUGH today. Unusually high pings every round which was rare in my case before. I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue with just my connection or an issue with the game.

The justification behind the hp/movement changes are lowkey pretty bad imo.
Reason 1: lights run away from their team too much and die in 1v3s. This is literally just a skill issue and not a āgoodā reason to make them slower and give them more health.
Reason 2: to make it easier to balance things between classes. Come on guys this one is just lazy, the large gap between classes makes them distinct and allows for very different playstyles. I play medium but not everyone wants to.
Donāt even get me started on the goo nerf, I can understand it breaking earlier to keep the gameplay flowing but not being able to stall steals is a big deal.
Also movement/melee is broken. Great.
After a great launch to season 10 this is a solid two steps in the wrong direction
Playing MGL is pretty much dead now. A goo stall was perfect for opening the distance back up when an enemy got too close. Now thatās dead.
My thing is they say it was never intended to stick people but Embark waited 10 seasons (almost 3 years) to āfix itā at that point it shouldāve been left alone. Or maybe .6 or .4 but .2 doesnāt even stop their momentum now. Please reevaluate this..

I think the hover pad would feel much smoother to use if it worked more like a ziplineābased on a cooldown system, allowing you to place a new one even if another is already active, with the previous one simply disappearing.
Right now, itās mostly used for single parkour moves, but it feels clunky: after using it, you have to pull out the tablet, hold a button to remove the hover pad, and then you still have a 4-second cooldown anyway.

This is so true. I donāt want to be jut a smaller slightly faster medium if I want to ply light. Ik every single gun they said would be adjusted to compensate but cmon⦠they already have trouble balancing and they throw this into it and itās like starting from square one. Not to mention the new med specs already make it so mediums movement rivals light players. I gauruntee most classes will all swap to medium making it genuinely the most picked class. Not to mention like you said. Melee would be ruined and so many weapons that are fun on light would be completely not fun anymore. This game already has a pretty slow ttk compared to other games and with this change I feel like it would just make it longer. Idk this is just my opinion but ion like this idea and really really hope this doesnāt become true.

my bad, I only played a couple matches earlier when I gave my feedback. after playing more, hereās how it actually feels now:
This update is honestly a step in the right direction. The overall idea behind the changes is really good. The HP adjustments especially feel great, heavy losing HP and light gaining HP makes fights feel more fair and balanced. That part is a solid improvement and definitely a move in the right direction.
However, the movement changes donāt feel as good. The 10% movement speed reduction on light is too much and doesnāt feel balanced at all. Light is supposed to be the fast, high-risk class, and lowering its speed that much takes away a big part of its identity. It also makes the speed difference between classes feel way too close, especially compared to medium.
Light speed should be restored to what it was before. It didnāt need that heavy of a nerf. If movement needs adjustment, then a much better approach would be not reducing light speed at all, and increasing heavy speed by 5% or 10%. That would help the heavy class to keep up with the team. Right now, the 10% change just feels off on light class.
That said, winch is still a huge problem and needs to go, no matter what. Itās way too oppressive and thereās barely any counterplay. Getting winched removes your ability to react, cancels your actions, and forces you into a guaranteed losing fight against a heavy. Itās the same kind of frustrating mechanic that stun gun had, except worse, and stun gun already got removed.
Right now almost every heavy is running winch because of how strong and easy it is to use, and it just shuts down lights completely and even mediums in many situations. That kind of ability doesnāt belong in a game thatās supposed to reward skill and counterplay.
Either remove winch entirely, or bring back stun gun so thereās at least some balance between the classes. But in its current state, winch is not healthy for the game at all.

light in wt feels horrible first round. feels like med stuck in a light body. heavy is okay but i prefere the pre update more....
I think to make these kinds of huge patches more fun for people is to make them feel like a proper event.
This would have been a perfect opportunity to put out like 8 Iseul-T shirts/guns/gadgets etc in the game as a collection event to incentivize players to playtest and make it fun

Also light needs to be 10% faster so they reach cashbox sooner and they can use teleport for teammates.
The small light health buff barely makes a difference
