The balance is nowhere near terrible at all? Every class is viable, every weapon is viable. The reason for 2 balance patches a season is so that players dont jump to complain, and instead are forced to accept it, adjust to it, and then complain if they still want to.
Synced emotes would be great, kind of in the style of Fortnite. It would also work in the intro. Also I agree with this guy đ

We literally couldn't do anything, we had to quit out, I guess giving the other team a technical victory while giving ourselves a matchmaking penalty.

On 26/09/24 Embark stated:
âWe never really intended the RPG to be an âopenerâ in combat, the intent was always that this was for destruction first & foremost. We believe this change makes it still usable as an opener, but a much less valuable one, shifting its focus back to destruction & breachingâ
The accompanying changes were:
- Decreased damage from 140 to 100
- Increased reload time from 0.9s to 2.15s
- Decreased projectile dispersion when ADS from 0.3x to 0.25x
Unsurprisingly, 4 months later the RPG still has a near-100% pickrate & is still overwhelmingly used for damage; as an opener, finisher, or otherwise.
This obvious result of the insufficient changes made is because:
- It still deals 100 DMG, that being 66% of a Lightâs health, 40% of a Mediumâs, & 28% of a Heavyâs
- It still deals 180 self-DMG; 51% of your own health, which takes over 14 seconds to fully heal
- It still has a 45s cooldown
- It is still cumbersome, with a greatly increased reload time received in that very patch
So its upsides & downsides still almost entirely revolve around combat & as such it is still almost entirely used for combat.
The claim that it was never meant as a combat opener but for destruction also makes no sense.
Upon the gameâs release on 07/12/23 the RPG did 165 damage. That was 110% of a Lightâs health, M: 66%, H: 47%
On 20/12/23 it received 6 nerfs, the most relevant being:
- RPG max player damage reduced to 150 from 165
L: 100%, M: 60%, H: 42% - so the game released with the RPG being able to oneshot Lights & the very first nerf it received did not change this. Not intended for damage?
Its only other damage nerf, from 150 to 140 on 17/01/24, removed oneshots but still left it doing L: 93%, M: 56%, H: 40%
Prior to the 09/24 change intended to âshift its focus back to destruction & breachingâ the RPG had spent over 10 months - the gameâs entire existence - with a pickrate rivalled only by Defib. Why did it take so long if this was never the intention?
Fixing the *Light Problem *is as simple as: Boosting explosive mines back to 2. Increasing the range of the Glitch Mine while also increasing it to 2. Increasing RPG damage against Lights.
Guys am I the only one when playing rank , my entire team is bronze and we end up facing opponents with higher RS & Gold or silver rank ? Or is it just how the rank system works
AKA, make Light even worse than it already is as the objectively weakest of the three classes and make Medium/Heavy egregiously overpowered against Light again
Explosive Mines got nerfed to 1 because being able to put down both instantly was blatantly overpowered. You can still put down 2, just not immediately.
Glitch Traps are already overwhelmingly powerful against Light as is, let alone if you were able to put down 2 at once or their range was buffed.
RPG is still easily one of Heavyâs strongest gadgets in the game. It got repeatedly nerfed for being horrifically overpowered, and itâs finally arguable as being balanced now, only because of all those numerous nerfs.

Honestly I say let mines arm when you're holding an object with them, since lights love to come in close. Lights usually only win fresh health encounters by ambushes, sniping, or the dang stun gun.
(I only skimmed the other feedback but lights kinda just do their job when they finish someone low) That being said transport options in the game are still lacking and dont let teams get across some maps quick enough.
Not straight up asking for vehicles though. I'll tolerate like, trains or long-range team cannons that take a bit to work. (Maybe destructive?)

Headshot multiplier from 1.5x -> 1.8x
Winch:
Increase damage from 5 -> 10, makes KS23 combos viable and since RPG is only 100 now the light instakill combo on it no longer exists
M11:
reduced hipfire accuracy

The spawn system is terrible at the moment. There is not one game, without getting 3rd partied. I had a match where the 2nd cashbox spawned 10m to the old cashbox. This is not fun. Also cashoutstations spawning 30-70m apart. It was so fun to play bevor the spawn changes and now WT and ranked feels more like a deathmatch game. No chance to gather or revive after winning a fight. It is really annoying.
Fix this horrible matchmaking. I only getting pure aim assist cheaters
Less serious suggestion is that when in the pre-game lobby, intro/post-game emotes should be visible in team loadouts and should be personally selectable; like gadgets and weapons are (at least when partied, but would be fun if it was just a thing).
Chatting about coordinating intro emotes would also encourage communication in the team... cause this game is the most frequent with having bad comms or no comms.

Yeah, I just played it few matches, none of them were fun. They have done nothing with that mode, added Kyoto map, which by the way, I wish they would remove, it is the worst one... Since Quick Cash was removed, I feel like the game is not worth it. Just god damn, bring Quick Cash back, I'm tired of getting these Lights team up with me in WT, babysitting them every game... After QC got changed, I feel like people are just coinign like crazy now, and running like headless chickens´, well, more than usual...
Also another fucking worthless update... I guess the dances are cool, great jobs devs, at least art team is working on the game...
@worldly scaffold you don't happen to be on PS5? I could team up with you if so. Kyoto is absolutely horrible in general but especially for Power Shift. I do miss Quick Cash as well. I assume the lack of updates and no maps on PS is due to Arc Raiders. Plus it seems like the devs get 3-4weeks off every 2mos since the launch of Finals. The current casual modes situation is beyond sad.

Man I really hope the devs listen to people about these Lights and how toxic they are to players, especially new players. You get a Light with the dagger, which should not be one hit kill because a dagger in the back does not normally look like that to the victim, dash and the stun gun is one of the most toxic player setups. Things like this are what is killing the game.
Besides the horrible Netcode this game has, all my Servers in the last 4 matches were complete trash. Please improve this game on a technical level. (And add 5vs5 Tdm Mode for newbies and fun)

Hi developers of the finals, I'll start this message by saying that I really appreciate the work you are doing and I hope to see this game grow even more in the future! I wanted to offer some advice and ideas to implement in your game - Chat within the clubs (When the club is public you interface with players you don't know and having a chat in the lobby to talk can be a good way to establish a relationship) - A surrender vote when all players on your team want to abandon the match without incurring sanctions - Introduce mouse and keyboard for console gamers - Ability to change profile picture for console players - Addition of new languages ââon the menu (I'm Italian, I wouldn't mind having the menu in Italian rather than in English)

Every time I reopen the game after turning off my computer, the game always resets my video settings to all Epic for some reason, including ray tracing, and the window mode is reset to exclusive fullscreen, please fix this,. its real annoying to readjust
Heavy Minigun Specialization:
Does 1 damage to people on body, 2 on headshot.
Does 50 damage to arena, and has 250 rounds
Has a 90second cool down and canât be cooled down until all 250 rounds are short
Shoots 50 rounds per second
The UI for the social menu is borked, on ps5 anyway. Looking through ârecentâ players is impossible. Even if I manage to highlight the player I want, itâs not even them when I send a request

They should be doing something about it but the sbmm has been shit since launch and thereâs still a dedicated playerbase 
Asking for the 7th time embark - add multiplayer practice range: join practice range map with party members if you are in a party, or make a practice range game mode in private match. Also perhaps make practice range a little larger.
Fix spawning system - itâs really annoying to get wiped by a team and then they get stalled enough so that you have time for one final push but then you spawn on the opposite side of the map 300m away and have no choice but to give up.
Light needs m11 and stun nerfed and maybe lh1. Heavy needs charge and slam nerfed. Medium needs model nerfed and maybe rework turret(im not saying it needs a nerf it is just really really annoying)
Make quick melee a last resort - itâs annoying as shit to have a light dash straight at you after third partying and then press v and do an insta finisher. I feel like quick melee should do 20 dmg at most. I feel like it should be a last ditch effort to get that final hit on an enemy instead of just a free way to get in extra dmg if you are close.

This mid-season update better be a sight for sore eyes. Because if we're getting these sorry-ass (for a lack of a better term) weekly updates with nothing to show for it, that's definitely going to be a bad look.
A ton of people still aren't happy with the state of ranked and its "plug meta", and a lot have also left because of it. And the fact that other people from other modes are asking for more because its so stale says even more. I understand that you have bugs and stuff to fix, but this is beyond ridiculous. You either have too many bugs, or it's just a store update.
So if you won't even do the bare minimum and shake up the mechanics, whether that's balancing or finally fixing this meta, I don't think I can continue supporting this game. I used to have a ton of friends on this game, but now, they don't really play anymore for this exact reason.
Every game mode should be supported on every map in the game currently and every new map that's added. Power shift for example is my favorite game mode outside of ranked but it sucks that it's not playable on any additional maps other than the ones it originally came out for. Also having multiple paths for each map could make it more interesting and add variety.
Another interesting change would be having a platform with varied shapes so it's not always the same type of platform. For example, a square platform, a triangle, maybe the platform has a wall in the middle, maybe there's a smaller elevated platform on the platform. This kind of change could make the strategies more dynamic with how to attack and defend the platform.
Lastly, maybe there could be effects on the platform. One example is the platform could have localized low gravity or an activated shield. Maybe if you hold the platform long enough you get an arena carriable spawn on the platform. Other effects or perks could possibly be added too.

Cashout has too many variables that sour- if not ruin -the experience & Embark have struggled greatly to resolve its complex issues.
You donât have the time to tinker without success for another 6 months, just accept the L (at least for now) & force more standard, structured rules.
Split the 4 teams into two 1v1s with zero reward or incentive for deviating from the assigned matchup.
Teams 1 & 2 are assigned Vault A and Cashout A, Teams 3 & 4 are assigned Vault B and Cashout B. Teams will only ever respawn within proximity of their assigned objective. No markers are provided for the opposite objectives & teams cannot interact with them. It is impossible to deposit Vault A into Cashout B.
Have teams both spawn about 50m away from their assigned Vault to give them an equal chance at getting there first. Currently one team spawns closer than the other, making the 1000$ opening unfair.
The Vaults are roughly 80m from their assigned Cashouts to:
- keep them close enough to get the next objective started quickly
- keep them close enough to prevent a wiped team from spawning there before the victors arrive
- keep them far enough to prevent a single Light easily grabbing the Vault & securing the deposit
Upon one team depositing a Vault, start a timer of ~30s before the Vault belonging to the opposite matchup auto-deposits, with ownership of the Cashout going to whoever held the Vault last. This is to keep the two matchups at the same pace. Auto-deposits award 15% of the funds instead of 30%; the other 15% is simply removed from the Cashout with no team receiving it. This incentivises manual deposits without excessive punishment for failure.
Opposite Cashouts are never within 100m of one another. This reduces third-partying, intentional or not.
After first Cashout completion, team switchups mix the rivalries. Due to the 30s auto-deposit timer, the first teams to finish will never have long to wait - this also limits the amount of time they have to try to third-party.

Theyâre also some of the worst aspects of the game that massively damage both the casual and ranked playerbase, which is why Embark have spent the gameâs entire lifespan trying to remedy them.
Playercount is not sufficiently improving and stronger action is needed.
Doubling and third-partying would also still be possible for the third cashout, as I detail in the second image. Third-partying via kills would also always be possible.

Weapon XP is extremely slow
100%, Embark themselves acknowledged months ago that itâs one of the biggest complaints they receive about the game
embark better have plans for a massive sweep of balancing for season 6 at this rate or else this game is cooked, too many chances for mid updates only to the store and contract issues that should have never happened

Light just needs to have its specializations reworked to not have their effectiveness be dependent on the skill of the opponent.
The only gadget here that needs buffing are explosive mines. An already weak gadget that got double nerfed due to failures of either game audio or player awareness.

Some kind of open communication needs to established. Maybe it'll be hosted or gathered by the CM team (i mean no offense but im honestly not too sure what they do that the bots here cant). But i think part of the issue and fatigue is that no one has any idea if embark is aware of some of the issues. Having a list of concerns or problems like in HD2 will at least let the community know that the team knows about this issue and will fix it at some point. Maybe some API stuff will be great for creating community made trackers for the finals stats so that feedback can be more objective and less anecdotal. Something like an experimental server or a public QA mode/team would also help i think. Right now everything is just too quiet and vague

- capture the flag'ish: enemy team has a base, you go to their base and try to steal their flag and take it back to ur own base. Teams of 7.
- headhunter: each team has a player that they have to protect, if said player is eleminated u lose.
- scrambled egg: u can combine and mix any weapon and gadget of any class. U never know what to expect. Just normal cashout rules

I just played a Power Shift match where 4 of 5 of my team were in the same club. At the start of the match, 2 of the other team left preemptively. My team didn't even bother with the objective, just killed the other team so badly they couldn't leave their spawn. The other team left the match one by one, some accidentally rejoined and left right away. The entire match played out like this. By the end of the match there were no original members.
Every single match I play, in any mode, is like this. Either being completely crushed, or completely crushing.
Matchmaking in The Finals is awful.
I believe this is because your player base is split between too many modes, so when your SBMM (if it exists) tries to match equally skilled players the pool is too small to consistently set up good, close matches.
Here's what I would do to fix it:
-You need to consolidate your player base.
-Combine World Tour and Ranked. Get rid of the lack of matchmaking in WT by replacing it with the way Ranked works, continue to give WT the big sports tournament treatment.
-Keep Quick Cash so players can practice in it.
-Remove Terminal Attack or Power Shift. This one is hard for me because I primarily play Power Shift right now, but one of them has to go. My vote is to remove Terminal Attack. The Finals is not Valorant or Counter Strike. It's like distilled Battlefield. Power Shift is a frivilous mode but it really showcases the strengths of the game you all created; a wide variety of well balanced loadouts, big maps that feature fun movement mechanics, and MAJOR destruction.
-Keep Bank It because it's an OG mode, or toss it if your data shows it's not a winner.

Ive been here since OB and not a single proposal here was ever implemented in the game.
If the devs or CMs actually cared about community feedback they would have changed this discord "tchat". I honestly think that when they implemented Terminal attack as Ranked gamemode and the backlash they received from the community they stopped reading or taking into account community feedback.
To change this i think we should have a sort of vote at the end of the week with like 3 or 5 most voted proposal facing one another. The proposal are put forward with certain emotes (specifics ones) and the vote at the end of the week (or every two weeks if they prefer) are pinged for everyone in the server.
Like this we might show to the devs that we agree on certain change and if a change happens (based on the vote) no one can complain because the majority voted for this.
Because right now this "tchat" is useless... just like the clipping thread in the bug reports. Right now this game needs actual content to grow its playerbase. People playing today are the same who played the entirety of S1 S2 S3 S4 ... new players open the game play maybe a few hours and leave.

I second that, and propose that there should either be a website link or somewhere on a platform mainly to divide suggestions within categories that can be voted up or down, and expire since a pair of channels leaves a team upcoming devs with waaaay too much clutter to sort through, especially with this much casual chatting.
Suggestions that directly propose buffs and nerfs should require cases/evidence and/or votes, primarily by players that have bought weapons and equipment/leveled it (signifies that a player has experienced enough of the game).
Discord is a powerful and versatile tool for niche communities to cause something, but a lot of integrations and tools are needed to streamline specific places to view and weigh on specific suggestions without echoes and clutter.
This discord needs more tools, channels and people who understand that the current suggestion system is not optimized enough to handle redundant comments and statements within the same chat as actual suggestions
There should also be a weekly limit to prioritized suggestions that don't expire after a refresh period.

And/Or comments and discussions on legit suggestions should be forwarded a separate channel
In exchange to the moderation and streamlining, a dev/ambassador should announce why certain changes or progress were or wasn't made, regarding voted-for suggestions, by the patch/refresh period. Of course there should be a method to comment on it, probably not directly.

Good idea, but also, since it's a team-oriented game, there is already a visible trail that lingers for a split second. If no one avenges or peels for you, chances are you were either out of position/place or a straggler, either intentionally or not intentionally since the current meta and spawn-logic is slightly bonkers sometimes.

Hi! So this server is more for giving feedback on the game itself, for this question its best if you ask it in medium lounge for example. You can acces that if you go on the left on the different groups to the top where it says channels & rolls, and in there you can select your class somehwere and then it should pop up
Having said that: Best tip is work around the heavy/ other medium in your team. The light should have its own movement tech already. try to get your heavy to high points as much as possible. also if you have a long way to run over a flat surface dont hesitate to run a zip line to increase your speed, the charge up till you have it back is quite quick.

Every 4 games i play with cross play enabled i get a PS5 only lobby. Its not bad, most pc players suck just as much as most controller players
Cashout has too many variables that sour- if not ruin -the experience & Embark have struggled greatly to resolve its complex issues.
You donât have the time to tinker without success for another 6 months, just accept the L (at least for now) & force more standard, structured rules.
Split the 4 teams into two 1v1s with zero reward or incentive for deviating from the assigned matchup.
Teams 1 & 2 are assigned Vault A and Cashout A, Teams 3 & 4 are assigned Vault B and Cashout B. Teams will only ever respawn within proximity of their assigned objective. No markers are provided for the opposite objectives & teams cannot interact with them. It is impossible to deposit Vault A into Cashout B.
Have teams both spawn about 50m away from their assigned Vault to give them an equal chance at getting there first. Currently one team spawns closer than the other, making the 1000$ opening unfair.
The Vaults are roughly 80m from their assigned Cashouts to:
- keep them close enough to get the next objective started quickly
- keep them close enough to prevent a wiped team from spawning there before the victors arrive
- keep them far enough to prevent a single Light easily grabbing the Vault & securing the deposit
Upon one team depositing a Vault, start a timer of ~30s before the Vault belonging to the opposite matchup auto-deposits, with ownership of the Cashout going to whoever held the Vault last. This is to keep the two matchups at the same pace. Auto-deposits award 15% of the funds instead of 30%; the other 15% is simply removed from the Cashout with no team receiving it. This incentivises manual deposits without excessive punishment for failure.
Opposite Cashouts are never within 100m of one another. This reduces third-partying, intentional or not.
After first Cashout completion, team switchups mix the rivalries. Due to the 30s auto-deposit timer, the first teams to finish will never have long to wait - this also limits the amount of time they have to try to third-party.
Can we get more random cash out locations, after a while you you can figure out how to defend or attack certain areas with ease. More random locations could keep the mix interesting. Same thing for the cash box.

Been playing since S1 & it def could be better. I'd rather wait more for better balanced teams; other than instant games that are steamroll or be steamrolled. Atm I only play PowerShift, because as much as I would like to enjoy Quick Cash or Cashout, it sucks as a solo player; especially with the 3rd partying. Even watching streams a lot are just chilling it's so one-sided; which doesn't advertise the game well. I like more modes, but TA didn't fit. The maps got to be crafted specifically for it or it doesn't work well flow wise. Doesn't make sense to keep it around if attention would be better spent elsewhere. I get they want to test stuff with World Tour, but yeah It's odd having 3 modes roughly the same; splitting the player base into a mode that could've used Quick Cash to serve the same purpose. Except it's worse, because maps are limited. Makes core identity of the game look lost. I think a change they should test is teams earning the amount they hold it for & maybe also a bonus to those who hold it 100%. Incentivizing more stealing & not rewarding those who steal last sec. I think a Custom Games Lobby where people can change game settings (no throwables, no gadgets, etc) would be a great way to improve community. Could create/join public or private rooms that players could regularly meet up, make friends & join clubs. Then partake in Club Matches & see who the best club is. More maps added to Powershift would also be great. TDM or Free For All would offer the space for warmup or those who dislike objectives. Otherwise, yeah, right now the features don't tie together all that well & barely stand on their own decently.
i think crossplay should be console or pc not platform specific iâm never gonna find a ranked match queuing playstation only but if it was console only iâd have a way higher chance

Hey, I'm so glad you chose this game, it's great fun. Being a Med main myself, I can offer a few tips:
-
Don't use ziplines when you're losing a fight. You're very vulnerable to fire when you're riding on them.
-
After u and ur teammates are done riding the zipline and on the other side, make sure to break it. So that the enemies can't follow behind you.
-
If you see any enemy riding on a zipline towards you, that's ABOVE one of those gaping gaps/chasms in the maps (like those in Seoul and Skyway Stadium), be sure to break the zipline to make the enemies fall down and get eliminated.

You can break ziplines by meeleeing them two times. Edit: Should've said this before. Sorry lol

Don't try to place a zipline on a platform directly above you. Try using a jump pad for that.

When you're in more open maps like Vegas (where there's huge open roads in between), use your zipline to get u and ur teammates there much faster. Obvious one, but still.

Make sure to co ordiante with you team and ask another medium on your team (if any) to equip a jump pad. So you both can combo with movement.

Try jumping right after you're moving out of a zipline. It helps you keep momentum.

Be careful when you're placing ziplines on the roofs of buildings that are above you. You may accidentally place it on the side of it (perpendicular to the wall), rather than on top of it (parallel to the wall, on top of the roof). This will cause you to just drop off after reaching if you're not careful.

DON'T waste your zipline trying to get on top of a building without checking for other ziplines. There's always going to be built-in ziplines in the map.
Sorry if this isnt enough, because I really couldn't think of any more tips at the moment. I'll think of more. But the zipline is a really simple gadget to use.
Oh, and one more thing. Off-topic tip, but when you're playing Quick Cash, try avoiding the too many light lobbies, they can get annoying.

So constructive đ. If that is really an issue then limited time modes could then be used. It splitting the playerbase all the time like this isn't helping. Besides what's the point of testing changes on limited map selection & things that don't really deal with 3rd partying. Oh yeah striking a pose is really gonna be the solution đ. "Inspect" animations featuring synchronized instrument playing (e.g., synchronized guitar playing, requiring new instruments for Light and Medium classes).
Character Customization:
Separate faces and voiceovers, allowing independent customization. As well as adding more voice options.
Weapon Skins:
Purely cosmetic weapon skins that change the appearance (and maybe sound?) of weapons without altering stats (e.g., M60/Lewis Gun skin resembling an MG42). (Note: Potential issue with weapon identification in-game.)
Currency Conversion:
Ability to convert 5,000 VRs to a certain amount of (I would say 500) Multibucks.
Cosmetic Items:
Winch claw skins.
Tablet gadget skins.
"Ospuze Man" skin (parody of Kool-Aid Man to avoid copyright).
Body skins with unique sound effects (e.g., Bigfoot or perhaps a wooden peg leg with sounds, similar to how the Mech skin changes them).
Environmental Hazards added to some maps:
Dynamic environmental hazards on maps (e.g., moving trains, active highways with traffic).
Cashout Customization:
Custom jingles we can select for when you start and steal cashouts.

Dumbing down QC to literal TDM was the dumbest thing Embork did to date. The pace is ruined, you literally get punished for wiping an enemy team, and half the time if you want to change your loadout, you have to suicide so you actually have time to do it. Some of the most hare-brained decisions I've seen in a long time. And for the ones who are going to say "play ranked if you want to play objective" - why the hell would I do that with 200ms+ ping? QC is still supposedly objective-based. Your argument makes NO sense.
In cash out, the fate of the match is nigh sealed during the last 6 seconds of the match. Why not enable a dance floor on the cashout during this time and give us something like 500 fans for doing an emote? That way, even if you lose, you still have something to gain in the last seconds of the match. Plus, it will add to the flair when it goes to slow motion showing the outcome on the screen
tbh i agree but only with some of these. i dont think deagles should be nerfed, yeah they can 2 tap hs lights but are much weaker against mediums and heavies and isnt good in close range bc of its terrible hipfire. the shak definitely doesnt need a nerf. its really good but not unfair to play against.
the xp5 could get its dmg buffed to 17 and could be amazing again (it doesnt need to be reverted)
your defib rework sucks. i do think they need to shorten the duration of defib sickness. but they should find a way to punish the person defibing for using it poorly instead of the person getting defibed. (the only way i can think to do this would to make using the difib longer, like having the medium charge it longer or needing them to hit the player totem with 2 charges to revive. it would still be faster than 4 seconds and forces the medium to be more careful about when to use the defib

Not even sure how you got from my post that they should "remove or rework all casual modes to serve competitive & give all special rewards to competitive instead, and make it so that the only thing casual players have left are shitty deathmatch modes and power shift". 1) until they remove the objectives in bank it; that mode isn't a TDM. So unless they removed TA, people would still have those. 2) If you really consider my suggestions you would see that I focus more on the casual side of things, by requesting custom games, Free For All and/or TDM. Additionally, although not entirely casual; club matches. 3) Emerald kind of is competitive & wouldn't be "all special rewards". 4) If testing changes in quick cash is that much of a concern; then I think limited time modes would be a better way to do it without splitting the player base the entire season.

Sorry you're getting hate. Folks don't seem to realize that player base is a limited resource that must be perpetually nurtured. The Finals is currently #95 on the top 100 most played games on Steam, and while it is cross platform peak players TODAY are 14,721. The Finals has six modes plus custom matches. If you look at competitive shooters in the top 20, which sport peak players at orders of magnitude compared to The Finals, they all consolidate their HUGE player bases into no more than six modes--a lot of them no more than three modes. Granted a lot of these are larger server sizes, like PUBG and Apex Legends, but my point stands; consider the total volume of players and how many game modes they're split between, and then consider the probability players will be consistently matched with players of similar skill while also not matching players against the SAME players every single match.
The Finals simply does not have the player base to make for good matchmaking when split between six modes. This is a feedback loop; low player base = bad matchmaking potential = less players having a good times = players leaving the game = even smaller player base = even worse match making potential = eventually dead game.
This is, I presume, why the devs seemed to randomly introduce Terminal Attack as the ranked mode; it is a clear sign they were struggling to maintain player base, so they tried to hamfist in the singular game mode that is driving industry leading games (Valorant, Counter Strike 2). It was probably an executive, or someone disconnected from the community and even the devs themselves, because Terminal Attack doesn't play at all on the strengths of the game. Introducing TA was obviously not successful as they removed it as a ranked mode of any capacity in the next season--but they made the mistake of letting it remain as a game mode which splits their player base further.
This is also why I think it's ridiculous to have functionaly two ranked modes of the exact same game mode (World Tour and Ranked). Just combine them, save your player base.

Embark, when will you address the obvious issue with matchmaking? Please go watch Commitâs (Lycommit in game) most recent YouTube video entitled âThe Reality of Ruby Ranked in Season 5 (THE FINALS). There is no reason for Ruby players to be matched against Platinum players. How can anybody compete and expect to progress in rank when theyâre constantly stomped by other players who are way higher in rank? The dude dropped like 26 kills as a L in one round of Ranked. The way yâall do matchmaking is simply fucked and seemingly unfair. Please address and fix. In my opinion, you should only play against others in your rank tier (i.e., Silver 4-1 only plays others who are ranked Silver 4-1). That makes the most sense to me. Iâm sure itâs easier said than done to monitor and control Ranked matches like that, and I do understand some players are just really good at the game. That said, I hope to see the issue addressed with some improvements.

Still not having the new maps on power shift is making gameplay really stale. Finished the bp, now I have 60 days to play cashout over and over for a few weapon skins. Really feeling the lack of content and excitement about the game again. Q times are super long now with leavers in almost every game, and with such low player counts its the same people in every match. Hitreg is somehow even worse this season. Movement and mantling is still buggy and consistently causes unnecessary deaths. So much server lag. Basic mechanics failing like fibs, or still being wildly imbalanced like charge n slam after how many seasons makes me want to uninstall daily. The same contracts day in and day out isnt entertaining.

okay so i think i found a way for Recon Senses to be added back to game after it being gone for over 3-4 seasons:
3 charges/pulses
3 seconds between each use
15 second recharge
when activated, emit a pulse (kinda like thermal vision) which targets enemies thru walls up to 70 meters away in the direction you are facing (before it was you could see everyone everywhere then only a certain range with a notifcation after a patch)

the light class is really just suited for the competitive modes. It's pretty balanced in there, but this is because it's a sweaty class by nature. High TTK and fast movement. In quick play though it is lacking the chill factor so you kinda have to activate sweaty mode to kill them. Dunno how to fix that but LH1 needs a nerf period and give m11 -2 damage.
First off, it doesn't matter is light has the highest DPS, its supposed to. You make it seem like "oh they already have it so they're fine". No, for most weapons its not enough. M11 and LH1 and DB are exceptions to this, and throwing knives are decent but require a very high skill level plus they're really not my personal style. Second, theres only so "slippery" you can be while being effective. Its not a constant skill increase, it plateaus at a certain point because if youre TOO fast you dont do enough damage. People in high ELO are wicked accurate especially after removal of visual recoil. And I'm getting 3-4 from personal experience, again excluding M11 LH1 DB. I am also aware that they cant do anything, since casual is apparently overrun with low skill light players. I dont know how to fix it properly, but it's ruining my light competitive experience.

Something that needs to be addressed is this game is underrated
Mostly to the fact that the Devs need to do more advertisement spread the word of the finals and more efficiently throughout the world like, sponsorships for Youtubers or other creators on other platforms.
If the word gets spread out more more, people will play the finals it will boost ratings, and the state of the game will be in a lot âbetterâ state than it was.

It must be so fun for a console player to load into the default quickplay mode after an hour of play, go up against PC players with thousands of wins in a game with a steep learning curve when it comes to game modes/abilities/map knowledge, trek 500m to the OBJ with janky movement & no clue of how to get there fastest, shoot his gun only for it to recoil into the sun, have an obese fatfuck run behind him with zero audio & press a button that obliterates half his health instantly, go hide & heal for 15 seconds, then a character that he cannot see utterly cripples his movement from invisibility & 100 to 0s him in less than a second, resulting in a 25 second respawn into another 20 second trek.
If only heâd have stuck around he could have experienced the joy of matching against top 500 players as a silver in the prestigious ranked mode.

Really good game with great graphics and mechanics, but lots of other problems. Matchmaking takes really long time, bugs. You guys need to make ads for this game! It deserves more players to play it!
There should be an optional setting to disable mantling unless you have a button held down. The amount of times I've tried jumping up a 3ft box and had my reload cancelled because for some reason the character decides to do a full on mantle for no reason đ same with ladders when you want to jump up a ledge without interacting with the ladder
Iâm gonna disagree with you, because if your excuse is âitâs supposed to be a team game!đŠâ then thatâs a really weak argument. Thereâs a lot of really good game that has team based that have glass cannons. A really good example is TF2 scout, anytime I see people complaining about lights Iâm always given the question to myself â do they understand the term glass cannons?â 87% of the time they donât.
iâm a glass canon main myself and I can agree there are some things on light that need to be changed or removed (EX: stun, gun, sniper, etc.) The game is based off of a triangle or a better word would be rock paper, scissors. Each class has counters for the other classes. Heavy for example has a lot of weapons/gadgets that can royally screw up anyone who decides not to respect their space and the people who usually donât respect them are lights. Sledgehammer can Insta kill them, flamethrowers that make it difficult to push, and the chain grab, which is basically a free kill if it lands and so, so many more. I havenât even got into the medium section, but Iâm not going to because thereâs 100 word limit for me.

I'm trying to bring new players to the game and play with my friends - but they just get absolutely dominated by higher skill players, and get so frustrated by the incredibly high skill ceiling so they don't come back.
2 issues here:
- there's been very little effort from embark to educate players in game about the 'nuances'. Simple things like quickly deploying a jump pad to escape death, or going in with the Dome shield first, or even window hopping and gateway training. Or showing different purposes for goo. Or even just that you can underhand throw grenades.
I really feel like there should be a boot camp which educates on most gadgets, even if it's just quick mandatory videos about use cases.
- it definitely feels like there's very little protection for new players in their first 20 or 30 games. There should be no gold, platinum or ruby players in the server at all provided they are solo queuing

I love this game. FPS are my go to. I am 23 and my first Battlefield was BF3, which ignited my love for FPS. My dad became a fan when I got him a PS4 with a copy of BF4. Ever since then weâve played every BF title.
I want to get him into this game, but I realize upon making a new account and trying out what itâs like to be a newcomer, it is very difficult to get into a game like this. Locking out items so the player canât use them until playing matches they need to in order to obtain them is a hassle. Any way to make it easier for new players to learn the game? With so many gadgets and different playstyles, maybe thereâs a way to make it more informative on what CAN be done with the gadgets? I understand exploring the gadget and getting to know it to understand how it works, but many new players (like my dad) are new to a class shooter like The Finals
I just played a WT match, and my team and another team shouldâve made it to the final round, however, the other 2 teams teamed up and exploited the disco party extra cash thing. so freaking stupid. they gave each other 30 k more so they both qualified and my team and the other didnât. we were so annoyed cause the cashout kept getting stolen nonstop between the 2 of them. so when we team wiped we went over to check it out and they were all dancing in the circle and stealing the cash out repeatedly back to back. reported all of them but i doubt anything will be done. SO annoying.

LMAO 2x? We have that every single game over here... It's awesome. And now with the servers completely broken I didn't even bother doing my dailies yesterday. First match got kicked out, after the second we just quit because of the insane number of cheaters and broken hitreg.
Cut the cost of unlocking new gear in half, at least. The grind for new players to build multiple loadouts is way too much.
The initial unlocking grind should relatively quick and provide near constant reinforcement and new experiences. Then, once a player is more committed to the game, they have BP, WT, ranked, and circuits to provide a more long term grind.

Audio mixing is terrible, which is unforgivable in a game with respawns extending up to 45s.
Same goes for cheesy balancing, a charge n slam taking another heavy from 350 to 0 in half a second simply cannot exist in a game this punishing.
This isnât CoD, where respawns take 1s, getting back to the action takes 5s, and individual deaths are largely inconsequential to the overall result of the match. Each death can be of major importance in TF, which makes these issues so much more damaging.

Sounds like a load of skill issue, learn some counterplay. Sledgehammer requires more thought to be effective. Since you have medium as your selected main, use jump pad to bounce your pursuer away.

Give Medium a speed ability where they increase their teams movement speed for some time. Give them a damage boost beam.
Give Light a burrow ability where they can dig underground and pop out. Give them a "recall ability" where they go to their previous position and restore their hp.
Give Heavy a block ability that absorbs damage that charges them and they can use the charge to move and shoot faster. Give them an airstrike ability like Brimstone from Valorant.

Movement is janky. Audio mixing is absolutely awful. Frames can falter. Servers stutter.
The destruction system is revolutionary but it ultimately has major repercussions for game performance which are exceptionally souring once the initial wonder of the destruction wears off for experienced players.
The game needs a fat health remedy.

250 headshots is pretty brutal for a melee main. There were some other small headshot contracts where dagger backstabs counted. That does not seem to be the case for this one! Like I needed another reason to dislike Iseul-T

M60 is a very balanced weapon it has 70 round clip for a reason, I can almost team wipe using m60 with 1 clip unless there is more than 1 heavy

Things that need to change:
- Raise the TTK to make it casual friendlier and encounter longer
- Matchmaking is not in a good spot. Keep the casuals away from the sweaty players. Take playtime and k/d into account or sth
- Anti-cheat is not being updated frequently enough. We need more ban waves to hurt the cheatsellers. I would recommend implementing an "auto-flag for review"-System for suspicious behaviour like 99% hit quote, ridiculous k/d, or "program-assisted" anti-recoil (this is pretty easy to grab..)
- The VR-currency is an old construct that every game uses .. newbies/casuals are not getting fast access to "meta"-weapons of the season, there need to be some more uses for VR.
Suggestions:
- Weapon/Gadget-Bansystem for WT & Ranked: Let us vote 1 or 2 weapons or gadgets out. Give the players time to switch those out. This can also help statistics which weapons are totally out of the line.
- Variants for Specializations: Form/Size/Type could be changed. For example turret could be flamethrower turret or shock turret, Shield could have different forms or be sth stationary ( could fuse the dome shield into specialization )
- More gadgets/specializations in general
Balancing:
- SH1900 should not be able to oneshot lights. Nobody likes one-shots. We are not playing counter strike dust with AWP here in The Finals.
- LH1 is out of line since the changes to aim, give it more damage but make it unable to spray like massive spread after a shot for 1,5 seconds or sth.
- Cerberus 12GA needs a slight buff
- CL-40 needs a slight buff somehow too, its not in a good spot in a ranged fight
- MGL32 needs a huge rework, its in a such bizarre state
- Lockbolt needs to grapple harder against dash or running around a corner. But make it more visible for the grappled person where the anchor sits.
- Life-Regeneration of Heavy needs to be a tad higher, Heavy is out of combat for a ridiculous amount of time without healing gun of Medium.

More uses for VR. Like I've been having 5k VRS for like the past 3 weeks, and its always like this. Give us more weapon mods, or anything, to make VRS actually significant after the first few weeks of a season.

It has less dps than the lewis, which has more range than it. How does that fit the design of the heavy class? It's literally weaker in every way EXCEPT for having more ammo, which isn't very useful because as I have said before it is a team game and you do not need to solo teamwipe. In fact, the low damage per bullet means it has only 300 more damage per mag compared to the lewis, which has 1000 - already enough for team wiping.
In other words, no, it does NOT have downsides that fit the design of the heavy class and is quite literally outclassed by the lewis at every range in the game.
And yes, actually, Heavy does have range capability - see the deagles, which are already better than the lewis in terms of range and dps while still having a respectable 600 damage per mag.

- Teamkills are very much useful in this game.. yes, teamplay is important, but if you can fully take out a squad, I don't see any reason why you're arguing against how useful that is.
- Higher mag size can be the difference between finishing a kill for your team/stopping a steal/trading a kill/teamwiping/etc. 300 extra dmg is an entire medium or nearly an entire heavy. This is a huge advantage for M60. You can also reload less often, which again, is the difference between finishing a kill/etc.

VRs should be uncapped and used as a secondary currency alongside multibucks.
As of now, VRs have no purpose besides unlocking weapons, gadgets and specs. Once all those things are unlocked, they have no use. Being able to spend VRs on cosmetics would give them purpose while rewarding those who grind for them. This also allows for the inclusion of VRs into challenges as a reward.
There is no reason why the basic âuniversalâ skins in the game need to cost 200 multibucks aka real money. Tiered VR price points would help players to understand the worth of VRs (eg. common skins cost 10000 VRs, rares cost 25000 and so on).
Rewarding players with cosmetics for playing the game helps new players feel there is something to grind for and older players feel rewarded for continuing to play the game.

I've always preferred the M60 over the Lewis despite the latter being clearly stronger (even as of now). The M60 can put lots of pressure on enemy teams and really hurts at close range if you hit headshots.
Hypothetical: the finals should add a halo like Forge.
I personally feel like this will give off a massive weight off of the devs shoulders trying to make new maps.

Terminal isn't fun though ( no rezzing or cooldowns) and Power Shift's objective isnt as fun or polished as Cashout. Yeah @surreal meadow I been wanting these types of modes TvT modes for a while since it would really just mimick the final round anyways so it would be great practice and devs could learn a lot from this game type too for game balance.

Who does a fast-paced, arcade FPS centred around abilities, movement, & chaotic destruction with a high TTK also have difficult recoil patterns akin to those in a hardcore tac shooter like CS?
Regardless of fixed patterns, gun behaviour - especially prior to the visual recoil update - is similar to that found in a more realistic shooter like Battlefield despite this being a totally different game. Embarkâs history with DICE is likely to blame here.
Absurdly, comparative weapons in Battlefield actually have better recoil (image 3).
In CoD (image 2), despite a vastly lower TTK, there is an extreme difference. The AMES assault rifle has minimal vertical recoil whilst the Jackal SMG has minimal horizontal. These are two meta weapons, meaning the tradeoffs for these patterns are not meaningfully detrimental.
Bad recoil and high TTK are both negatives for lesser-skilled players, combining the two is even worse. There being no input-based matchmaking, as well as a small playerbase, makes this a nightmare for the average controller player.
The prominence of abilities, teamwork, & movement, alongside the unique complexities of the game modes, make the learning curve exceptionally steep even for those with above average aim.

I play in OCE, so we already have a tiny player base. We can't play WT or Ranked in OCE, you have to play in Asia which is fine most the time but ping clearly sucks a touch.
So all the sweats are in QC and it's just turned in to TDM slug fest and no one cares about the OBJ any more.
I just don't know why it changed, as it also served as a gentle tutorial to WT & Ranked.

Recoil like this is necessary to keep range weapons balanced. Otherwise, everyone would be getting absolutely melted at 50+ meters. And there's recoil smoothing for close range tracking.

FCAR doesnt need a major buff, dont even think it needs a decentky sized buff, any game in gold2+ most people use the FCAR or FAMAS It probably needs a tiny tiny tiny tweak though. The recoil after a while doesn't feel too bad to learn even on console on PC I'd imagine it's much easier
Itâs really not. Range falloff can easily be utilised for these weapons as they are not long range weapons. They are all automatic; either assault rifles or smgs intended for short-medium range.
CoD, Battlefield, and basically every other game manages this issue perfectly fine. The Finalâs implementation is nonsensical.
It also makes no difference to skilled players as they can still very easily beam with FCAR etc, which is why it dominated the meta at launch. Lesser skilled players cannot overcome difficult patterns like this.
Thereâs nothing good about them.
Every now and again Iâll join a game and I can just see some players through the map constantly? Like they are permanently on motion sensors.
The conditions seem to be:
- Joining a game in-progress
- multiple teams having/using motion sensors before I join

Was playing ranked two nights ago and the servers lagged so bad the entire lobby died and had to rejoin the match. We went from holding a cashout uncontested to the enemy team walking up to it and taking it for free because they were closer spawn. Bullshit
All this game needs is a slow motion grenade and a theater mode like halo had back in the day.
You should get get XP if you ping someone and they die while your ping is on them even like 20 XP to encourage pinging players
Give cl-40 a slight buff:
- Increase damage 100 -> 105 (Doesnt change the TTK to any class but allows the ability to quick melee combo a few classes)
- Decrease self damage 1.6x -> 1x (Its too punishing on close up fights and when small objects/buildings fall infront of u)

For context, the meta loadout for heavy hasn't changed since S3, medium since S2, and light since S2 (Imo LH1 has always been better than XP but that's up to debate, so it could be argued that light meta changed in S4)

Please for the love of god take a look at these server issues. Its getting ridicilous. Not only am I dying behind walls for 3 whole solid seconds after getting behind them. I am being teleported back and forth constantly in 4/5 games I play. And its not just me. its the whole lobby. We've had servers just straight up crash and cancel the match so many times now. We've reached round 2 with only 2 teams in the lobby. Its gettin ridicilous. Each season just makes the servers worse and worse.
I would like to see that if 2 lvl 70+ players don't get mm with for example lvl 5 players. This is really ruining a good game

I find the rpg to be trash due to only having one shot. I prefer lock bolt. The croakers arenât a problem for me because I have no issue seeing them, I donât see the Famas too often as the AKM and Scar have higher DPS.
in the latest set of mission we are supposed to play terminal,the problem is that the search time is around 10 mins and even after that the game gets abandoned like 5 times in a row. that mission is nearly impossible.

For me, this game is really funny. X different shotguns that give different dmg from different distances. SH1900 you have to be as close as possible for max dmg s light with 150 hp. Heavy with 350 hp from 20-30 m with KS-23 for 100 dmg. What kind of logic is that? đ And it's probably not even worth talking about the medium. Obviously, developers have their own world regarding balancing. This game dies after S3.
Nothing will change until people stop buying their stupid skins. And then they'll probably just shut the game down anyway.

Recently, it has become impossible to play. I've been playing as a sniper for at least 3 seasons now. Calmly progressed to the diamond without any problems. I made fastscopes, flicks, hit on the fly, made 30+ kilos per tournament. Now it has become very noticeable that my shots do not count the damage. And it happens more often than i would like. You go to the training ground and everything is OK, everything that I did before is working out and there are registered hits. I do not know what has changed, but the desire to play disappears.
I see the lag indicator on the bottom right. Granted server lag has been an issue for too long

I have about 50% hitreg most of the time no matter what weapon I play. I wish I was recording just now - was playing LH1 because nothing else works so wanted to try something different, emptied a whole clip into a medium that wasn't even aware of my presence, not one hit. Not ONE. The game is dying, that's why they're not saying anything about all the problems. They're just trying to milk everyone gullible enough to buy their skins until they're forced to shut down the servers.

Light is only ever op at low skill levels due to badly designed specializations. Heavy is one pellet damage nerf on the model away from being unequivocally the best class in the game for a third season.

A lot of us donât wanna have to learn a bunch of new stats or adjust our loadout every week, we like the stability that comes with less frequent balance changes. 2. In terms of balance there are definitely some things that are Meta as fuck but nothing is broken op and in need of immediate action.
They also only update the store on a weekly basis, itâs a set schedule. They make way more announcements about other stuff, literally just go check. They also have the most consumer friendly in-game store of any game out there.

The Issues:
Underpowered Weapons for Solo Play
Many weapons lack solo viability, limiting viable weapon choices for solo queue. This also affects gadget and play-style options, leading to monotony over five seasons. The lighter the build, the worse the impact.
For instance, lightweight players often stick to the same weapon, like the LH1, for multiple seasons because short-range weapons have significant drawbacks. Even if you manage to outplay a 1v3 situation kill one and 1 hp other, if you're out of sync with your team for just 10 seconds, itâs like you did nothing. Opponents can revive a teammate to full health in 5 seconds and counterattack in peak condition, while you're left berating teammates in voice chat for not keeping up. But honestly, they probably want to follow youâthey just can't.
Spear too slow to catch up, grenades launcher deal a mere 20 damage while often self-damaging and dagger just flash the times and do 50 damage and then die.
In entertainment modes, these issues are much less pronounced. In casual play, opponents don't pay close attention to positioning, nor do they often group up. Most encounters are one-off skirmishes, allowing weaker weapons to shine when you skillfully create favorable opportunities. But in WT or RK, opponents will push your teammates as soon as you disappear to flank, making such playstyles highly impractical.
The disparity between entertainment and standard modes stems from their design differences.
**I suggest introducing a kill-healing mechanic in WT and RK modes. Healing 100 HP per kill, up to the character's max HP, would increase individual combat viability without change the risk of every build **
This adjustment would help solo players disengage and recover.
Balancing weapons for this change is crucial to ensure that WT/RK and entertainment modes remain aligned,preventing over-reliance on lightweight builds in casual play.
BTW: the kill-heal adjustment wonât make light OP, light need specialization and ammo.

General server performance has been slowly going down the drain season after season. AFAIK, this persistent problem has never really been talked about by Embark and I find it more and more worrying.
I've been playing since S1, 1400 hours under my belt and a few hundred bucks spent in the store, because I really love the game and its content.
I refused to get into the dead game bandwagon that's been rolling pretty much from the start. While I don't think the game is meant to appeal to a wide audience like CoD, Fortnite, and other popular shooters, I've always thought it would make a breakthrough and gather a healthy playerbase of at least 50-100k players over time.
I'm losing faith since the beginning of S5. Every new update is empty to say the least, and Embark have remained very silent after their season launch announcements. I thought the game going towards e-sport with a 100k$ cash prize meant that Nexon still believes it can succeed. Now it's really starting to feel like an untold 'do or die' last stand. The daily player count keeps slowly bleeding because issues aren't fixed and there's no communication on them being at least acknowledged by the devs.
Embark, I love you guys, but this isn't good. You can't let a passion work like this die slowly. There is an audience out there for your game. Talk to us about.

Dagger Refinements Proposal & Against Different Enemy Types
Introduction:
The Dagger Refinements introduce a new level of versatility to the weapon by allowing the right-click button to execute two distinct backstab attacks based on the way itâs pressedâtap for Instant Backstab and hold for Charged Backstab. Unlike the old dagger system, which featured only two attack styles (Swift Attack and a single backstab), this refinement keeps both original attacks intact while adding a third, giving players three unique attack options in one weapon. This system enhances the daggerâs usability and tactical depth without changing its core mechanics, making it more dynamic and adaptable in combat.
1. Left-click: Swift Attack
Damage: 50 DMG
Effects on enemies:
Light (150 HP): Requires 3 hits to kill.
Medium (250 HP): Requires 5 hits.
Heavy (350 HP): Requires 7 hits.
Balance: This is a fast attack with low damage, making it ideal for finishing off low-health enemies or following up with other attacks.
2. Tab Right-click: Instant Backstab
Damage: 90 DMG (on the back) / 50 DMG (if missed)

Server issues, matchmaking is brutal, balance patches every half season, events are not-existent like at the start.
If I had to summarize it all in a big package I would say:
- Either Nexon is doing bs things and blocking embark from doing things. We all know for what nexon is known for...
- Not enough transparency what the team is having in its eye. I am not talking roadmap here. Weekly infos of what you can see like LH1 being a bit too strong or Kyoto is not that liked or sth. Its not hard to talk to your community. Take an example from Jonathan Rogers.. i beg you.. Dont let higher ups dictate what goes out and what not. Playing it secret is standard leader thinking but it hurts more than they could even imagine.
- Theres no room for newbies or casuals to get into the game because of the community thats playing at the moment. Ignore smurfing. Thats a whole other issue that you can work around later. But make it more open for newbies to get into the game. Seperate us veterans from all that are under level 50 or sth.

Something has changed with console only matchmaking, I CAN FIND GAMES AGAIN HOORAY thanks embarkâ¤ď¸ not sure what changed but i can play again. HOWEVER ps5 has been emergancy shutting itself off for a few weeks, only game that causes it is the finals. My ps5 is not overheating or dusty. Im not sure whats causing it but the most recent shut off was just after i shot a balloon of fire barrels and they hit the floor, exploded, and so did my playstation⌠please look into this issue im not the only one
The player count is so low that I am facing a Ruby team every other game in the World Tour. I understand that it is pointless to complain about the lack of skill-based matchmaking and the inability to separate solo players from those who play together.
Can we please have a feature that allows us to block certain players from matching with us, so I don't keep getting matched against the same Ruby players over and over again?

I agree with you. Pretty much what I'm feeling about the game right now and expressed in my message above. I'll keep playing because I can still enjoy my time with my team mates. But the lack of meaningful updates and communication is worrying, especially regarding technical fixes, like server performance. I wonder if Nexon didn't silently pull the plug and downgrade the servers due to the target player count not being reached ? Lowering the upkeep while pumping out paid content seems like something any publisher would do to an underperforming game.

At least you get a diverse pool in different teams. I get that one full premade ruby team in all gold/silver elo. Games over already when I see that. Literally watched a Ruby light 1v3 as our heavy made a run for it.

Its been over a year since launch now and we still get backfilled into matches that are over in less than 30 seconds. This is very disappointing to see since it would not require any complex logic to fix it.

Hey embark I come to you with another weapon idea. only this time it's a skin. I think there should be a great sword skin for the heavy sledgehammer. You wouldn't even need to change the animations. And it would fit the heavy thematically because they're two handed heavy swords compared to the lights short sword
Here's some Ideas for what sword you could do. (Do more than one if you want.) The guts/cloud strife style sword, a Zweihänder, a medieval claymore. There's more but these would be the most common ones. Again just a skin. No need for a new weapon as the sledge fills in the same role and has the same animations needed.
This could be yours for- well actually this one's on the house for real this time.

Servers and lag seem to be considerably worse to the point where Im playing on game dying behind a wall over 10 ft inside and then I just quit... It's really ruining the fun of the game thus making me not even want to try playing the next day. I have asked for ping registration since OB and plenty of others have mentioned it along with questions on the server tick rate. Not once have I seen or heard a response on this from Embark - I think you are all about to hit a wall with folks. The fact that 120hz wasnt even acknowledged till just this season is the type of thing that should have been brought up awhile ago as a roadmap thing. The playerbase is so low that it feels like more respect and transparency should be put out to the supporters of your game yet this season seems to be the least info and updates. Its harder and harder to get myself on the game and my friends want to go to marvel rivals so I hope yall figure something out - btw I can literally see what server Im connecting to on MR....

Heavy is fine. However I do feel like some heavy weapons could use a touch up to make them less dependent on high aiming skill to be effective at longer ranges. Lewis for example is usable at longer ranges only by those who can control the difficult recoil. More casual players that don't want to deal with the recoil have the option of the m60, which has big damage drop off. As a result, lower-skill heavies are locked into close-range, which can play against their enjoyment of the class
XP could actually use a buff, it has a lot of damage drop off and is really just a subpar auto version of the lh1 right now. Similarly buff revolver damage drop off.

The Issues:
Underpowered Weapons for Solo Play
Many weapons lack solo viability, limiting viable weapon choices for solo queue. This also affects gadget and play-style options, leading to monotony over five seasons. The lighter the build, the worse the impact.
For instance, lightweight players often stick to the same weapon, like the LH1, for multiple seasons because short-range weapons have significant drawbacks. Even if you manage to outplay a 1v3 situation kill one and 1 hp other, if you're out of sync with your team for just 10 seconds, itâs like you did nothing. Opponents can revive a teammate to full health in 5 seconds and counterattack in peak condition, while you're left berating teammates in voice chat for not keeping up. But honestly, they probably want to follow youâthey just can't.
Spear too slow to catch up, grenades launcher deal a mere 20 damage while often self-damaging and dagger just flash the times and do 50 damage and then die.
In entertainment modes, these issues are much less pronounced. In casual play, opponents don't pay close attention to positioning, nor do they often group up. Most encounters are one-off skirmishes, allowing weaker weapons to shine when you skillfully create favorable opportunities. But in WT or RK, opponents will push your teammates as soon as you disappear to flank, making such playstyles highly impractical.
The disparity between entertainment and standard modes stems from their design differences.
I suggest introducing a kill-healing mechanic in WT and RK modes. Healing 100 HP per kill, up to the character's max HP, would increase individual combat viability without change the risk of every build
This adjustment would help solo players disengage and recover.
Balancing weapons for this change is crucial to ensure that WT/RK and entertainment modes remain aligned,preventing over-reliance on lightweight builds in casual play.
BTW: the kill-heal adjustment wonât make light OP, light need specializat

I dont usually do this but Honesly I'm not feeling like playing this game anymore at its current state. I'm from SA and the only way I can play competitive is either by playing on NA or EU. And each time I play either Tournament or Word Tour I keep getting matched against people already on Emmerald or Ruby Ranks, even players already on Em 1, i dont even know why they keep on playing comp at this point. And now with this new week rules there's not even a slight chance for someone to win a match by luck. Dunno what Embark is trying to achieve at this point.

I think i'm just about done buying stuff for this game. it used to be fun for me, but it doesn't feel the same Bernal was the best map so far. I had a lot of hope they'd add more things like private matches in a small map where you can 1v1 your friends or add small things like adding the cashout locations on the compass so that every time you spawn your team doesn't look like chickens without their heads when they spawn. something with the server that makes you shake your head as your shot around the corner and die instantly as a light, the mesh shield isn't the same, it feels like mediums are sem-balanced. The MGL32 doesn't feel impactful (skill issue i guess). I miss the old backstab for the knife. I wish the battle pass was like halo where you can still get the old passes and never have FOMO, and I wish they had more contracts you can cycle instead of just headshots where instead you could melee. oh and add more movement for Medium melee users
WISHLIST for mid season patch
- buff CL-40. Ideally just removing the AOE nerf from season 4, it made splash damage far too unreliable. If they keep five shots then the current damage per grenade is fine.
- buff revolver. Ideally both reload speed and increase bullet size a small amount to make hitting shots easier. Currently lights just have to run at you and the small bullet size/slow reload means youâll die.
- buff FCAR. Increase bullet damage, reduce bullet count. Currently it has no identity versus AKM
- buff XP-54. No identity versus M11, just a worse M11. Bring back some of the higher damage per bullet, slower firing speed to balance it out could be acceptable. Donât nerf M11 just make XP-54 more varied but equally viable.
- nerf the charge in charge n slam. Add more knockback so itâs harder to chain charge hits, keeps the damage threat while removing it easily team wiping
- nerf frag grenades. Swap frag and pyro/gas carry amount, make frag have one charge and pyro/gas two. Keeps the same theme with frag mines and pyro/gas mines. Currently two frag grenades at once is the most powerful gadget in the game and practically mandatory for all classes. Gas and pyro grenades are used for area denial but rarely killing multiple people, while two frags can either team wipe on its own or set up a quick team wipe.
the downfall of this game are the light ones with all the annoying and noob gadgets they have.

** **ok, new perspective. i think the weapons are overall pretty balanced right now, and i have only some minor gripes:
-cerberus needs a little bit of a buff, i like the idea of it being a more utility focused weapon- but as it stands, the fire is both inconsistent and has too narrow a use case to be useful. i think it should be easier to ignite enemies and it should do boosted damage to gadgets, that way its utility is widened a bit.
-m11 is a bit too powerful as it stands. i think it should have a wider aimcone and slightly reduced damage (like 1-4 bullets extra ttk for lights to heavies) to better distinguish it from its counterpart.
-xp-54 needs a little bit of a buff/rework. i like the longer range feel it has, so maybe make it a bit more stable while ADSing, and give it higher damage at the cost of lower fire rate. basicallyt reward aim more than the m11 does
-evasive dash's recharge should be a little bit slower, because it gets pretty frustrating when you catch a light having used all their dashes and then they can just get away in seconds anyway, it removes the ability to counter it with smart play
-heavy's shield could use a rework, make the heavy slower while holding it and give it a half second of deploy time in exchange for the shield getting increased health- because right now all it ends up being used for is popping it for a second tops which doesn't feel as tactical as it should.
-charge and slam needs a bit of a nerf. id say decrease the impact damage and then give some of that damage to the actual slam.
** **outside of that, heres my thoughts on the rest of the game:
-the weekly events in world tour are fucking great and i really hope they keep coming back, giving a little twist to the gameplay really livens the place up
-the server performance is definitely degrading, though its not consistent for me. i have the occasional laggy game but i'm usually fine- not sure what that's about but given the sheer volume of complaints about server performance being unplayable above, theres gotta be something to look into.
-as far as the concerns around splitting the playerbase, there might be some merit there. i think that if the player counts dip low enough, it would be worth considering taking the side modes and having them rotate in and out over time.
-please implement some kind of personal performance factor in ranked, at least in the early ranks. if i have literally double my teams stats in every aspect and they still manage to lose the match i would at least like some pity points- that might just be me though.
-some kind of level based matchmaking in world tour would be appreciated- i feel bad dunking on obviously new players that dont really know what's going on, and that cant be good for their mental. new player retention is needed to replace the people that naturally leave over time and right now thats just not happening.
** **final takeaway:
overall i'm cautiously optimistic about the state of the game- it recovered well from the disaster that was season 3 and i'm hopeful that y'all will be able to maintain the playercounts left
Best on paper only if youâre hitting multiple headshots which should never be the deciding factor, body shots should. If you miss one shot you usually lose your 1v1s. Reload speed is too slow for six shots when a full AR mag can wipe a team and revolver canât kill two heavies in a mag. Revolver needs five shots to kill one heavy. I think increasing revolver bullet damage would be game breaking since you could two shot lights. I donât want a very large bullet size buff but something wider would help more shots connect, it would also make it thematically feel like a powerful hand cannon.
Fix your servers... pretty sure this guy going straight through my goo nade is due to some form of latency.

Playing ranked soloq itâs impossible to hit diamond. After plat4 you get all the rubi and diamond enemys. Somehow i never have them on my site. The amount you lose when losing a game is crazy. evasive dash can be used as a tool to either get into fights or get out of them, it shouldn't get to be both. the cloak can do both because it has the obvious counter of using your eyes and shooting the user- and theres the obvious opportunity cost of cloaking requiring a large resource investment so that you can't spam it as you're moving and getting shot at. evasive dash as it stands is just infinitely better at both- you have crosshair breaking, ingress, egress, and the ability to bypass traps all rolled into one. this isn't necessarily a bad thing, the issue is that you can just Keep Doing It constantly throughout a fight. my suggestion isnt to worsen the charge itself, just reduce the sheer amount of value you can keep getting after your initial util burst
Literally the only "nerf" Light needs is removing the red dot sight from the LH1. Literally every single other thing on Light ranges from balanced to underpowered. M11 and Evasive Dash aren't even remotely close to overtuned, let alone overpowered.

Idea for new cosmetics: I would love to see more trendy clothing items added. I think we are missing some key items like:
-variety of âdadâ caps
-face and ear piercings
-cropped overcoats/sweaters
-long overcoats/trench coats
-a variety of backpacks
-tapered formal trousers
-pantsuits
-a variety of jeans cuts, such as high rise, low rise, baggy, flared/cropped flair, cuffed below ankle, cuffed above ankle, & cropped
-long skirts
-low cut sneakers/shoes with tall socks
-low cut platform shoes
-a variety of heels, including platforms and boots
I think itâd be nice to see modern haircuts as well; Iâm thinking of middle part flows, two blocks, curtain bangs, and braids styles
I also wish there were some boot/tall sneaker and pants combos that did not force the pants to be tucked into the boots/sneakers.
can we get a custom games editor like Halo Forge. Imagine playing capture the flag in a tetris themed map or racing around on go karts breaking boxes to get gadgets and abilities like that italian plumber. Oh and revert visual recoil changes. It was fine before, guns had more character.

separate the body art into different sections
each arm is separate along with head and torso art. some art may override others, like all the other clothing options
biggest reason I want this is so that I can use the subdermal shine without also making my character look like a drag queen
im not saying the evasive dash itself should be worsened im explicitly saying that the recharge time should be increased.

i even specifically pointed out that one of the main points of evasive dash is crosshair breaking, which i also said was not a bad thing. my specific gripe is just how much value you can continue to get out of it for free after the initial burst of utility. a recharge time nerf wouldnt affect the people that use dash tactically and would only have a major negative impact on the people just spamming it as a get out of jail free card, which again i specifically said that was what i had a problem with.
as far as the smgs man i dont know what to tell you. if its not obvious that the m11 outclasses the xp-54 in every way youre beyond saving. my proposed rework to both gives them both a distinct identity in the meta as opposed to literally just being "mediocre at close range okay at medium range" vs "good at close range still pretty good at medium range"

Dash is is in a good state. Good dash users know how to use its potential. And kyoto just needs less junk around the map. Hire a gardener to remove some bamboo in problematic areas

Why does it feel like cheaters mostly hang out in powershift?
Evasive Dash recharge time should not be increased. It's not even remotely overtuned, let alone overpowered, even against casuals. And against good players, Evasive Dash is outright bad, because said players will simply beam the Light through Evasive Dash regardless.
Using Evasive Dash to escape encounters (which won't even work against the aforementioned level of players) is literally an intended tactical use for the Specialization. Saying people "spamming it as a get out of jail free card" is like calling people Sledgehammering out floors/ceilings/walls "spamming it as a free map destruction card". You not liking something doesn't mean it's overtuned or overpowered.
If you don't realize the only reason people are using M11 more now is because XP-54 was gutted into outright obsolescence making it literally inferior to M11 except for falloff distance, you're beyond saving. M11 doesn't need nerfs. M11 is only good outside of high tier play, and even then, it's still nowhere near being even overtuned, much less overpowered. In high tier play, M11 is downright bad.

Getting winched should give you a +250% damage bonus specifically against that heavy.

I did read what you said, it didn't make it any less incorrect. Evasive Dash literally does do both currently, and it's still not an issue, for the numerous reasons I literally explained in the comment you didn't read.

By that logic shouldn't basically everything get nerfed since it can be used in more than one way? Ex. The demat can be used to escape but can also open walls offensively.

no, i specifically said that it having a very wide range of uses isnt my problem with it and that my problem with it is that you can keep using it for everything during every point of a fight with little need for resource management- making it not necessarily overtuned but really annoying as it effectively removes counterplay without specific item choices which cannot always be relied upon
i dont think anything about the dash itself or its cooldown needs a change, just its recharge time

It isnt that simple, they have evasive dash so you have to avoid getting backstabbed while trying to shoot other people or have others shoot you while you try kill the light

The SMGs should have more damage DropOff; XP can shoot from 50-40 meters while still doing good damage while the revolver does almost nothing at 30-40 meters

Make recoil and recoil patterns easier to deal with;
Some weapons like the LH1 or the M11 have little to no recoil while assault rifles and machine guns have much more complicated recoil and there are also weapons such like melees and the flamethrower that have no recoil at all. Why are these weapons so easy to use while others have complex recoil patterns?
I'm extremely satisfied with Embark's work, they are making a great game but these changes should be made in my opinion

GRENADE LAUNCHER for Heavy kills Light in just 1 shot, just think with that weapon you don't even have to aim just sprint and spam fire button its too unfair

The hammer is probably the most skill based melee weapon there is, lowering the damage of the heavy attack is completely unnecessary
same things as daggers,
sledgehammer does not need any nerf at all, instead the nerf in 4.4 should be reverted
