Just my daily feedback suggestion to add a leave punish mechanic.
Also it should force people to spawn after certain amount of time - This will help prevent teammates that refuse to play.
Either that or a kick timer, if they're just sitting there typing instead of spawning.
Add Avoid as Teammate Option. Please. You will have happy customers/players if this gets implemented. Ask anyone. It will function as a blocklist but for people that can't be matched onto your team. They can still be on opposing teams but just not yours.
OPTIMIZE THE GAME. It normally runs great, but I've been having shit frames all day. I also frequently have latency, but I think that's just my wifi.
IMHO Embark devs have done a great job building this game, the follow-up throughout each season may have been lackluster (sometimes just in terms of communication -something they're not particularly good at I reckon), but the studio is very fucking far from deserving the hate some people keep spitting. Like, seriously.

The whole reason model is getting slammed rn is because it does too much damage. Here’s a simple way to more balance medium. Lower damage, higher support ability.

Something cool to add, new melee animations. Similar to Titanfall 2's melee mechanics
Grounded melee: normal elbow
Aerial melee: kick or a superman punch.
Falling Aerial melee: The Knee
Sliding melee: a sliding kick or an uppercut.
The current melees feel a little clunky and odd, especially when you think about elbowing downwards. Adding more flare to the meleeing would make the Finals feel a bit more like people trying to put on a cool show and a rush of dopamine when you sock someone in the head just right.

Cloak should be buffed a hair by making it quieter on just walking. Im tired of being the loudest guy around because I want to be stealth with a tiny amount of HP.

Make hoods seperate from outfits. I would love to put hoods on and off different clothing options. Like my metro drifter hood on another upper body. It would be amazing for customization.
I don't know if its just Xbox but I can't change contestants when in the pre game lobby when choosing weapons and etc

Feels kinda bad that outside of dailies, you're stuck playing about 65 or so games per item

I think dagger needs a buff and here is why
I am a dagger onetrick since Season 1.
I reached Diamond in Season 2.
Emerald in the World Tour of Season 3.
I have dagger level 8 since the start of Season 4.
I am currently not getting to Diamond, and the reason is the Model. You can call it a skill issue and stop reading here (I’m not necessarily saying the Model needs a buff—I do kinda think it’s decently hard to use), but if not, here’s the reason:
I, as a light with 150 HP, need to slow down to walking speed to charge my dagger, which takes 0.8 seconds, to then get behind a medium that has a model he can run around with freely—slide, shot, jump, slide—whatever. And I need to get behind that guy? He is almost as fast, if not faster, than me when I am charging my dagger, has the same or faster TTK, and a one-shot combo available against me with full-shot QM. He can end me faster than I can charge my dagger.
Sure, one can say “position better,” but with the amount of variables, that’s a bullshit take.
Today, I was fighting a Ruby stack, and all of them were playing Model. I got a lucky pick on an unaware enemy and then got a follow-up kill because he went for a defib. The third guy demoted on my head and one-shot me with a quick melee.
Dagger already takes a lot of effort to be good in high rank, but with the MMM (Model Medium Meta), I cannot compete. This wasn’t as bad in previous seasons because there were many assault rifle players, and I had a good chance to get a kill on them. But with the amount of Model Mediums now, there is no competition.
My Wish for Dagger Buffs
My wish is pretty much one of a couple buffs I’d like for dagger:
1. Remove the charge penalty so I can at least catch up.
2. Make the slowdown take place AFTER the dagger is charged.
3. Reduce the windup back to 0.6 seconds.
Since the Season 4 update, dagger TTK went up by 0.2 seconds, which is a 33% worse TTK—from 0.6 seconds to 0.8 seconds. Sure, it’s more consistent now, but it’s not good enough to be viable in high elo.
I’m constantly playing against Ruby stacks and Diamonds all day as I’m hovering in the 35k MMR area. It feels like dagger just can’t compete in this meta without some adjustments.

Because when a studio makes weekly updates, it's still not enough, people want daily updates. And maybe even hourly updates. Meanwhile, AAA paid games take 6-24 months to be in a playable state.

it is, its literally has unlimited duration and recharges insanely fast, a team with 2 heavy's has 4 of the, and when you are stuck fighting you don't have time to shoot them especially if its in a wooded area( which most of the maps have) they can be hidden in bushes with their small hit boxes its insanely hard to hit in a fight. sure you can see the line that leads to them but again you don't have time to stop and shoot the small hit box while moving around and fighting so its literally just unlimited wall hacks in as big of an area as they can set up before a team meets them to contest. even just 1 heavy can achieve the same thing in a smaller area. they are equally as op in buildings. they shouldnt be infinite duration

Whole Rank match making system is so sucks because
- So many booster and cheater. I say boosters are worse because they literally makes me stop playing rank and making me temptation to act same as them bevause they are NOT FUCKING PUNISHED AT ALL ALMOST WHOLE SEASON 4 but I guess that's kinda general problem of fps games so this is labeled as 0.
So.. - There are non-sence level match making happens like ruby is fighting with silver or 3 stacks everytime
- System automatically makes good team and bad team because high seed and low seed, which makes low seed already a penalty
- Seed system doesn't give enough reward, being a 8th seed in silver and beating a whole match against plat/dia/ruby will give max 2000, which is so absurd
- Also, being a high seed makes you never make a mistake, and also makes you -1500 drop if you or your teammate made mistake which horriblely unforgiving.
- With all of these issue, we have lack of enough rank player which makes problem worse.
- AND ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS BECOME WORSE WITH SOLO QUEUE WHICH MAKES THIS GAME SO FUCKING NO FAMOUS YOU SHOULD HAVE FUN WITH SOLO TO GAIN MORE PEOPLE WHO TJE FUCK WANTS TO PLAY GAME WHEN ONLY FRIEND EXISTS

No stack in higher rank. you should play as solo up to gold, which is fair with almost every other games. League makes you solo, Val also doing that, Overwarch makes you less and less team queue for rank, and FUCKING DEADLOCK NAILS IT WITH ONLY SOLO QUEUE RANK. Being as stack is so powerful and we don't have any protection for solo queue and party queue.

Give more bonus when you are in low seed. Giving/Losing RS only by seed is stupid idea when you dev people want RUBY 3 STACK FIGHTING WITH GOLD AND SILVER TEAM. Make they has less penalty when fucking unbelievable shitty matchmaking happens.

@jade estuary Yeah, they are difficult to spot, shoot down, and are often forgotten in the heat of fights. That's pretty much why they can be very useful. Limited duration feels like giving them the APS treatment: some players are too dumb to counter X gadget, so we're just gonna make it suck.
It would probably be better to make them slightly larger, and maybe limit ammo count to 1 + slightly shorter CD (it's already quite short right now). But seeing that it was almost never used before and doesn't see that much use these days, I don't even see the point. Heavy is already in a not-so-good spot in S4. We don't need to gut the class further. If anything, it needs buffs.

you don't have to ping people when you respond it all ready does that when you reply. aps needed a nerf it was way too strong and also, only being able to block certain number of grenades is a good balanced in contrast to its infinite duration. Cutting count to one on proxy sensor with a slightly larger hit box would would be a fine nerf the problem is how many you have with infinite duration, or quite literally the aps treatment would also be fine, infinite duration with limited uses is a perfectly fine way to balance it as well cool down would need to be longer not shorter even if it were to be reduced to one. idk where you're getting heavy is in a bad spot. heavy is in a fine spot, guns are fine except maybe the slug shoty and spear they feel a bit weak, shields are good except dome it was gutted. the rest of the abilities are good. you seem like your coping cause your favorite sahit thats op is neing erfed/ being requested to be nerfed
I think a good idea to stop cashout camping would be to hide the cashout markers for teams that aren't currently holding (or haven't recently held) a cube, not sure why but it's been happening to me quite a lot more recently

Never said it was in a bad spot, I said it was in a not-so-good spot, because its defensive abilities (what it should excel at) have been nerfed time and time again. I'm thinking about Dome and Mesh Shield specifically. We wouldn't be in this 3M stack meta otherwise. The APS did not really need a nerf IMO, it's a stationary, narrow radius gadget in a game where fights are very dynamic. I never struggled against it before. It mostly caused problems in PS due to the nature of the game mode.
I'm not coping. Yes I've been using MS since the beginning of S4 in my Heavy builds, and found them to be good/interesting tools for the team. I understand where you're coming from but I think what you suggest would just throw them deeper into the 'never used' bag of gadgets.

I think what would be really cool is if we got a 5 v 5, or a 3v3v3 game mode where it was just... the first team to 50, or 100 kills. Each kill counts towards a money goal, kinda like bank it. But better. I think what spawned this gamemode in my head was PVZ GW's team vanquish gamemode. If you make the goal for kills lower than you should allow revives to set the enemy team back by a bunch, and if you do a higher number like 100, (or if your a freak, 150) then revives should just bring your teammates back.
Respawn times should be like power shifts, and teamwipes should last not long.

Please nerf charge n' slam. It should act more as a utility for breaking through obstacles, not as a weapon. Similar to how the RPG was shifted from damage to primarily structure breaking.
Currently it is just used as a get out of jail free card to get a kill when out of ammo or the enemy is low but hiding behind cover. It takes 0 skill to press "q" and simply kill your opponent because of the outrageous damage output. Lower the damage, increase the cooldown.

Please nerf the Model 1887 to 112 damage with full pellets, so it will be 56 with half, 28 with a quarter, and 14 with an eighth. This adjustment would reduce its power without making it ineffective. It is clear that this weapon is omnipresent in the meta. These values seem reasonable to me.

Emark. Thoughts on just increasing the spread of model so it functions as every other shotgun in the game that works only at close range and not retain its high damage beyond typical shotgun effective range? Look at every other shotgun in the game:
SH1900: 2 shots and can only work when point blank
M26 Matter: 8 shots and work at close range, further than the SH1900 but still relatively close
SA1216: close range gun that is effective in similar ranges as the M26 matter
Model 1887: 6 shots that are highly effective at short and medium range. Just because it has a "weird" reload doesn't justify its effectiveness at medium range compared to all other shotguns in the game. Increase the spread at range please, because in the current state of medium meta, model is just objectively the only gun that has no major downsides apart from shooting from long range. But then you've decided to have many buildings in this game so long range is extremely situational.
tldr: increase model spread to match other shotgun's effective range in the game and to balance this gun that has been one of the most effective weapon since season 1.

- Remove quick cash specifically from OCE servers to force people to queue into ranked or world tour.

No, I play with my brother on a PC-Xbox croosplay.
I just figured out a new strat to have way way way more fun in Quick Play. If the enemies are more than 50% lights, just quit before the match even starts. Takes like less than 1 minute to get into a new game, and just happy times.

Has anyone had significant frame rate reduction with the latest update? I'm running a 3090 and getting like 40 fps...
Can we use our emotes in the lobby? And can we pls spin our teamates in the lobby like we can with us?
THE FINALS: CLANS
Integrate a clan system that utilizes prebuilt words to be combined; alongside an icon library to make the clan emblem. Scott and Judy would know all of the words so live casting the teams would still be viable.

• Toggle option to commit the charge like the TK right click or this current version.

• Rework Animation to end faster to sync with attack frames (unlike the clunky one we have rn)
Add a headshot counter on the death card

- Reverse XP nerf. Same dmg than a M11 but slower RPM and less bullets. Just useless now. STILL USELESS AFTER YOUR "BUFF"
- Rework mesh shield
- Nerf Charge'N'Slam. Too much damage.
- Give back the rpm on the V9S but let the damage.
- Buff grapple. Reduce cooldown by 1 sec or add charge.
- If Hook do damage, Stun gun should do. Put damage for both of them or no damage for both of them.
- Nerf the right clic + Dash on Light. You couldn't dash with your sword or dagger charge. Too strong.
- Nerf defib. To strong. It's litteraly the M meta.

I love playing dagger aswell and fully agree.
I find the only way to play dagger somewhat effectively is with cloak or maybe dash, but since cloak was nerfed, even that isn't great. You just have almost no way to catch up even with a heavy.
Also, the charging needs a better visual indicator, the audio cue is hardly audible when in a fight or something. When charged, you loose the charge when accidentally mantling. Either you should be able to mantle small obstacles without loosing the charge or the game should prevent you from doing so while charged. Happens too often by accident.

But I should know from day 1 if I even want to be grinding for emerald in any particular season. I understood when emerald was just added it was brand new and decided on later in the season for S3. What happened for S4 though? Why only tell us now? Honestly needed a bit of a break after the s3 grind and didn't think emerald would have the same rewards this season because ranked was actually fixed. Thought it would only be the sticker/charm maybe. Now it's holiday season and I'm extremely busy and the season is gonna end before I even get a chance to grind because I only found out now it's worth doing. Really sad. Invisible Walls
Too many invisible or torn walls disrupt gameplay, and some appear or fail to render later in matches. This needs fixing.
Balance Changes
Dagger
Secondary Attack: It should work like the throwing knives. Right-click should automatically release after max wind-up, making it smoother and less clunky.
So Holding and Tapping are both available

Dual Blades
Deflect Accuracy: Deflect accuracy needs improvement. Bullets deflected by dual blades miss and only reduce damage by 80%. Expanding the deflection cone would make it more rewarding.
Deflect Animation: The parry stance should be available anytime, including during other animations, allowing players to cancel certain moves (e.g., sledgehammer heavy attack). Currently, parries don’t always register, especially with heavy weapons like the sledgehammer, causing damage to phase through.
Blocking Speed: Blocking should allow players to sprint at heavy speed. Medium speed is too fast, but current movement feels too restricted.
Damage Adjustment: Adjusting damage values from 100, 120, 65 to 120, 100, 100 would make quick melee attacks more useful against light enemies.
Bullet Model Interaction: Bullets should reflect accurately. If one hits, all subsequent bullets connect, even if they should be deflected.
Inspect Animation: Holding items other than dual blades resets the inspect animation to default, showing the wrong animation until respawn.
Revolver
Needs a range buff. It feels underpowered compared to main weapons like the Pike, and a range increase would make it more competitive.
FCAR
Rarely used compared to the AKA and Pike. Adding 1 damage would make it more viable.
Bow
The bow could use a 5-damage buff on fully charged shots, making two-shotting mediums more reasonable.
Quality of Life Improvements
Team Color Outlines
Team color outlines are still bugged, making it hard to distinguish enemy teams when colors don’t display correctly.
Audio Bugs
Audio issues are a major frustration with three main problems:
No Gunshot Sounds: Guns sometimes produce no audio when fired, so players only see incoming damage.
Persistent Firing Sounds: Guns occasionally keep firing after the player is dead, looping for 10+ seconds.
Rapid-Fire Audio Glitch: Weapons like the M11 sometimes glitch, making them sound like they’re firing at an insane rate.
Skins for Gadgets
Many gadgets, like the Vanish Bomb and Gateway, would benefit from skins. Some gadgets haven’t had a new skin since Season 1.
Equipment Progression

Data Reshaper Buff
Make friendly items and structures reshapable, such as reshaping jump pads to prevent enemies from following. Ziplines should also be reshappable so they can be removed as needed.

I’m a Powershift player, so I don’t know about other game modes, but I feel the matchmaking is much more balanced these days with team members. Yes, there are opponents who sometimes totally annihilate you but it’s fun to have different degrees of difficulty between the various matches. Keep up the great work guys!
Lets talk a bit about MGL - 32
In past patch notes, you've mentioned reworking the MGL-32. As a fan, I hope this means a soft rework rather than a complete overhaul. The weapon is powerful but challenging to master, with a few quirks that make it less popular.
The current damage and shooting via walls is fine, and it doesn't need to be much stronger up close. It feels more like a backline weapon, best supported by teammates. This is all good imo.
One issue is its high dependency on certain maps—maps like SYS and Fortune Stadium work well because they’re flatter, while obstacles in places like Monaco / Kyoto rooftops make bounce predictions tricky. Low-gravity event in casual play also makes the weapon harder to use effectively as it completely throws off the bounces and makes them much harder to hit.
Maybe the only changes it needs are a less vertical bounce on things like rooftops and floors making it slightly easier to aim in those situations. I think its ok for it to be a weapon that works amazingly in some situations and less so in others, it cements the need for approaching situations tactically.
A major buff could be for nades to explode when near players no matter the bounce timing etc. But this would probably make the weapon absurdly broken. I wouldn't recommend that.

At this moment:
Bronze 4-1 = 25 points per division
(Taking us to 100)
Silver 4-1 = 50 points per division
(Taking us to 300)
Gold 4-1 = 75 points per division
(Taking us to 600)
Platinum 4-1 = 100 points per division
(Taking us to 1000)
Then instead of continuing the pattern of +25 per rank it adds 50 current at:
Diamond 4-1 = 150 points per division
(A jump of 50 taking us to 1600)
Emerald 4-1 = 200 points per division
(A jump of 50 taking us to 2400)
This is too much grinding, especially when we don't even know what we're aiming for! The rewards should be shown to us from the beginning so we know whether or not it's worth it!
Please change Diamond & Emerald to 25 to continue the pattern like so:
Platinum 4-1 = 125 points per division
(Taking us to 1500)
Emerald 4-1 = 150 points per division
(Taking us to 2100)
This saves us 300 points of grinding total!

I think it's because of the recent contract too - about eliminating/interrupting those who steal cashout. It forced people who don't really place Cashout/Terminal Attack/World Tour into that space and more leavers after they didn't like it.

Add range falloff to all shotguns in the game, I should not take 120 damage from 50+ meters away. Visual recoil wouldn't be necessary as a way of balancing if guns were used in their intended ranges with the correct falloff values. This game's balancing is becoming a joke.
Add headshot multipliers to sniper, any other game I can 1 headshot players why not here. Reduce aim assist on it if need be but I want to be rewarded for precision and high skill.

- Pyro Turret-- Self explanatory. Spews a large amount of fire that deal high damage over time but has low range. Puts the ground on fire and has a big area, hence could be damaging to teammates (the drawback).
- Jetpack-- Use it to move vertically in a set period of time, also can be used for stuff like double jump and gliding, but still doesnt move THAT fast to maintain the feature of slowness (doesnt neccessarily mean no movement).
- Railgun-- Fires powerful laser beams with a charge of say 2 or 3 secs. They penetrate any and every wall or floor in its path until it hits ground, where it does a huge explosion. When charging, theres a red flash similar to the sniper glint. Three uses just like the demat. Laser is thin at first, then gets thicker, so its much more difficult to use it in actual mid or near range combat. Mostly for destruction
Med:
- Energizer-- Turret that emits sonic bursts of energy in all directions in a certain radius (similar ot that of an aps turret, a bit bigger tho) that increases movement speed, reload speed and cooldown speed for a short time. Will deactivate if enemy is in the range.
- Sonar Boomerang-- Throw it at an enemy for a good amount of damage which will then detect enemies nearby if any and bounce at them to hit them as well. Returns to you after no other enemy is found. Also does the tracking feature like a sonar nade for a few secs. No cap for number of enemies, but they can still destroy it mid-air. Penetrates walls.
- Barbed Wire-- Self-explanatory. Take out that ipad/tablet thing and place it on the ground like a guardian turret. Damages enemies and slows them down. Also makes a sound to alert players someone is going thro. Similar to r6s.

Day#6 Rework the dual blades: The third attack of the combo should be the first attack and it should be faster and a dash attack, that way players could reach the enemies easier, the damage of the first attack would be increased from 70 to X1 100, X2 60; X2 50, the dual blades should be able to deflect when running but I'm not sure if the latter would be balanced

Please adjust the sword lunge charge up first person animation. In its current state its unclear on the exact moment when the player is able to lunge. There is a brief moment where the sword is in the lowered and pulled back position but it's not actually ready to perform a lunge. This baits the player into lunging early, canceling the attack. It's pretty frustrating and it doesn't need to be this way. Chalk it up to a skill issue and call it mastery to hone in on the timing regardless of the animation sure but the animation should just match better.
I'm not calling for a sword buff for its timings. Just adjust the animation be more clear on when the lunge is actually charged

First off i want to say I've reached diamond every season as a soloq light. Except for season 1 when I was genuinly enjoying playing as a medium. I heard everyone cry how hard it was as a light to reach dimaond and wanted to check but it was genuinly super easy.
But season 4? Or 5? I don't remember which one we are in right now is honestly alot harder. Xp has been nerfed just too much. V9s is good and m11 is good and lh1 is also good. So lights do have good weapons to use that can make you compete but in 1v1 you will always lose since ttk is close if not lower for a light vs other classes fighting light. For example a heavy can kill a light faster then a light can kill heavy. Which in my mind dosnt make sense personally. A light is already lower health so if there any outside variable in that 1v1 you are essentially screwed. So yeah dont take 1v1 fights idiot. This honestly even goes if you are behind a player. Primarily a heavy. They have enough time to turn around and engage and still win the 1v1. There is just alot less room for error when playing as a light.
But that's honestly not my biggest gripe with this season. It's the nerfs to abilities. Dash regen is now horrible. Cloack is also been nerfed like crazy. Everyone can see you unless standing still and even then you are radiating noise like crazy. I don't use grapple but I wouldn't be opposed to buffing that either. If they want to make light this weak then the abilities should be king. Right now a heavy with charge or winch claw just completely destroys a light in any scenario. Cqc? Charge the light. Open area? Grab the light.
I hope we see improvements to light next season because this season it's just frustrating to play. The nerfs have been too much against this class. Also claw = season 1 stun gun. They just gave it to different class.

Was top 500 before I got sick and stopped playing for like 12 days. Plug meta was not a side effect, it was directly intended by embark. Getting 30k if you plug all the boxes would still be significant even with the old -30% loss.
About the model meta, Embark previously said that they want to limit the amount of heavy meta-shifts to be the seasonal patches, where the midseason patch has a moderate change and only extreme stuff gets touched in the weekly patches. Their reasoning for this is probably players not wanting to feel like the meta vastly changes every 2 weeks but I kind of disagree with it. Say light and heavy gets buffed a lot, people would still expect to see model nerfs even when it would be less prevalent. Embark seems to love making guns unusable or extremely weak after they are strong for some reason and thats how we ended up with the Fcar/XP-54/Lewis gun and I expect no less to happen to the model.

agreed, however they gotta be careful with that, my suggestions are tightening the hipfire of most weapons so when they get in your face they aren't as annoying and/or adjusting weapons like the revolver and LH1 to 2 and 3 shot respectively, only nerf i can see being made directly to lights is like you said reduce dash to 2 charges instead of 3

I was away from home for a couple days so I didnt get to see the initial reactions. To be quite honest, I am quite dissappointed. XP and FCAR are not doing hot and Sledge is my go-to pick for when playing heavy but I did predict they would do a sledge emerald skin.

Maybe use it properly then. The RPG is the same way, just gotta put some distance between you and your target. It's a grenade launcher, not a shotgun. Don't use it as such.

@brittle obsidian Far from what it actually was but it was still better than the clown show ee have right now. Solo queing is near impossible if you want to not play against rubint players, also I don't know if you have noticed or not but ever since Embark's so beloved Ranked Score made it's debut in the game ranked has been an unfair game for one side. Another thing to mention is that RS ranked games matchmaking is looking for overall RS meaning there could be a 50k ruby and a 38k plat then a 12 silver for fulfilling the team and getting the 100k overall RS.. Complete bullshit. RS did destroy ranked games fairness ,hope Embark manages to understand this. Also it is NOT ALRIGHT playing 2 matches gaing an avarage 1500-2000RS (taking arround an hour or so) then losing 2 matches and boom you have lost all the progress you made + some more RS(takes about 16 to 20 minutes) .
The win/lose RS rate is in a bad balance as well. Really I love this game and want to play it for a longer time but ranked makes me question things about my thoughts.
Also Embark I spent more then 160-200€ on cosmetics to be able to use them ,and not to me having to select all skins over again and again because your game is incompatible of making simple tasks like remembering what skins, emotes ,sprays I selected.
This is NOT a hate speech against this game but the harsh reality about how things stand right now. Ranked sucks (still) and solo Q is way more horrible than it should be. Much love to Embark and all the beautifull devs making this game ,please do something. Thank you, see you in the arena.

List of some of the best balancing changes I've seen suggested by members of the community that are also well received by most of the community (day 1):
- Model damage: 128 --> 116 or 112
This allows the model to 1 tap + qm light, 2 tap + qm medium, 3 tap +qm heavy. If you decrease the range or add a accuracy penalty when moving than you destroy the whole personality of the model. A fire rate nerf could work but that would be a lot of work for doing the same thing that simply adjusting the damage could do.
- Mesh shield: Remove cooldown, but add an activation cost.
Mesh shield juggling was a cool mechanic that showed skill expression, but it was dominant and a skilled player could minimize all the damage they took to near zero. Adding an activation cost allows for the skill expression to be there but less dominant. They can still mesh juggle but each time they activate it, the mesh shield is weakened. -150 health is what I'd suggest but could be any where between 125 to 250.

I think the ideal meta would be HML, I dont have any suggestions on how to do that because i have no experience balancing stuff but mabye give light something that makes it vital for teamplay but also redundant if used by multiple teamates.

Lights are crazy op now i often experince lights pushing entire teams themselfs and still killing 1-2 players, their weapons are so Over-Powerede now espacially the M11, wich now for some crappy reason has a sight, The M11,s recoil and crappy sight was the main thing making it fairly balanced, it made it hard to hit all shots, so naturally it had an super high firerate giving the m11 a cool option for crazy damage potential if you hit your shots, now it has a sight, its never been easier to use it, making the damage potential so much easier to achieve, making it so nothing really has a chance against it.
Heavies don't feel tanky anymore, you get killed so fast by a low level lights its mad, ruining the awesome experience that heavy brought by feeling unstoppable.
Light isnt fun the same way anymore, it used to include strats and certain gadgets to taking down the heavies for example, back then it felt like an Achievement when you took down a heavy head on. Most heavies shine at close range, that is its core design and function, the only place light had an advantage was its awesome potential to dodge, Hence the agility of light and the slow but tanky hp of heavy is what was giving them both equally valid advantages over each other, but with the nerfs to heavy and the buffs to light, the balance is totally flipped, making heavies feel weak compared to the high damage of the light.
Medium is supposed to be a perfect balance of the classes, by wich i mean agility of light and defense of heavy, whilst having its own touch of sharing it with the team, but with heavies nerf, medium is getting closer and closer to outshining heavy at its core function.
I study game design, and i get your trying to make the game appeal to the newer players, and hopefully making some long term fans by giving them op weapons to rely on against tryhards But you have gone to far by ruining the fun of other classes then light. ruining the fun of the game for literally everyone else

That said, I wanted to share some feedback regarding ranked play. Currently, THE FINALS allows multiple players to pick the same archetype in ranked mode. While this contributes to the game’s chaotic and freeform identity, it also creates significant balancing issues. Most competitive class/hero FPS games implement a ranked role-lock system (e.g., Overwatch, Paladins) because it encourages strategic diversity, eliminates stacking imbalances, and leads to a more refined competitive experience.
By limiting ranked matches to a Heavy-Medium-Light role-lock system, you could offer a more balanced and skill-driven mode without compromising the creative chaos that defines other gameplay modes. Players would still have the freedom to explore duplicates in casual play, but ranked would become a more strategic and polished environment—aligning with the benefits seen in other popular games in the genre.

The issue is that lights are no where close to being op and are rlly only viable in low elo. Mediums are dominant every where else.
I really like this take of the mesh shield rework, i hated having a heavy just rush you without thinking with the shield, this would be a great change

Yes, lights have good dps weapons. Why? Because they are the squishiest class. They are not meant to take head on fights. If you are losing to a light as heavy, you either:
- have poor/the worse positioning
- suck at the game
Lights have less and less use in higher ranks because medium and heavy are far more useful for long, sustained battles and don’t die instantly
tldr light isn’t op ur just bad

Would you all please look into fixing the leaver penalty? My friend and I just queued into our first match of the night (WT). We had no third teammate and the Leave Game option said we would not be penalized, but lo and behold here we are waiting for a 10 minute penalty to end. What's worse is it looks like it only gave him the penalty and not me, because I left the party to check and confirmed.

People want to play the game not suffer ranked bullshit. Lights outside of ranked are overpowered as hell as what started as a glass cannon class was magically tuned into raider class (who last I recall was supposed to kind of be medium given a higher health propensity and the many, many underhanded tricks like mines). Lights need a nerf and a rethinking of what the hell role they have, as the current role makes them overpowered and drives people away from the game before they encounter ranked. And don't get me started on ranked because good fucking luck if you are a normal person who does not have a dedicated group to queue with as they don't bloody well separate the solos vs queued up groups. The whole thing is a mess.
M&K and controller are two completely different games. Very unwise to combine.

Then frankly lights need to be rebalanced and rethought from ground up to fit the original glass cannon/backliner/pickoff role. When MP5 can be used at great ranges rivaling the AK (at least IMO), when you got the best melee (yes, don't even start trying to complain that something wasn't great, sword and dash or dagger and dash is bollocks) and frankly some of the best proper ranged weapons. Yes, light needs a retooling. Ranked shouldn't be the first and foremost thing they balance around.

Allow us to pick what guns we want emerald/ruby/diamond etc. Use a coin/point system kind of like OW. I don't want to have to wait 500 season for the weapon I want to come back in rotation, especially since each season is months long.

The SBMM is to hard in world tour, every match it feels like a FINAL of a world cup, everyone using meta, full medium with model lobbies, heavy has the "win figaht button" (the slam) and light is useless. I get very exhausted after 3 matches, and is not funny anymore. This gives me some COD vibes with the SBMM issue
Beginner protected lobbies, sick of being a level 7 playing against level 70s who have stungun, sword, cloaking, vanishing, all that stupid stuff they can use

I think biggest issue in ranked currently is losing points when you are the ONLY person in team, both teammates didn't even connect to the lobby... and I still get punished by losing 1000+ points
it happens so often, either 1 or both teammates don't connect or leave in 1st minute of the match...
End the match immediately in Ranked if there's Zero chance for the last 2 teams to catch up.
Just wasting everyones fucking time, on top of the 1000 points off a triple Medium Ruby stack against all platinums
Increase ranked points rewarded/Decrease ranked points lost for teams down a player. It can be set to only count if a player disconnects during the first minute or two of round 1 to prevent abuse of the system. It just feels bad man to make it to the finals as 2 players with no 3rd cuz the game literally didn't connect someone and get 300 points. Telling me I had to play twice as hard to get the same points? On the flip side it sucks when you get rolled and are first seed and just have to watch as you lose 1,500 points.
do not add vanilla TDM you will regret it, noshahr 1000 tickets running around in a circle like a mindless animal looking for kills and nothing else with instant respawn is not good for the game if it takes players away from power shift and shifts the tone of the playerbase. We need another [5v5 infinite respawn objective mode] for solo queue instead or at the very least inject gunmaster/scavenger into the TDM where you pick up full loadouts including classes which might expose people to new builds

If someone leaves a normal game, they should face penalties, but maybe because this worthless small company only cares about employee benefits, they can’t seem to fix the disconnect issues, nor do they enforce penalties for leaving normal games. For example, in Power Shift mode, if they lose the first fight, they all just leave in droves. But they face no penalties. They just keep leaving and rejoining until they win. I've been watching this nonsense ever since the official release.
They removed recon senses back in the release of season 2, due to it being overpowered and will be seen again once reworked (If this will still happen). I wonder why Embark hasn't taken the time to apply the same methods to reworking the heal beam.
Heal station would be an interesting rework
Heal Pistol/Syringe sounds interesting, however, that will promote more selfish aggressive mediums if it were to allow self-heal. If they didn't allow self heal, I think a Heal Pistol/ Syringe would be a good direction to go in.
The healing beam we have now is an interesting concept to support your team, but restricting the triple stacking would be a good benefit if it were to stay the same way it is now.
cl40 mgl and riot shouldnt be buffed. If somethings annoying to fight against it shouldnt be as viable. If i lose a fight it should be bc i got outplayed not nade spammed. Riot sheild can just get annoying bc people mostly use it in quick cash and play like pussies with it while im trying to have fun. Sniper nerf was a result of it being a pain in the ass in power shift bc people didnt play for fun they sat in spawn and were annoying. Mines shouldnt be buffed for the same reason. Having a random 125 or more would just not be fun to fight against and therfore shouldnt be as good. Invis doesnt need a change its in a good state, top lights primarily use it. Spear alt fire needs hit reg fixing as its just worse than the primary. Dual swords i dont mind where they are they are fun but not really good and thats fine. If they were better it would get annoying to fight just like light sword. Defib needs a change but idk if being able to cancel it by shooting it would be the right approach. Glitching would be fine but i think a team wide cooldown or combining it with heal beam would be better. My idea would be u use heal beam to defib res but it overheats immediately. I think overall most things are in a good state and once the model is nerfed down guns will be in a good state of balance with a few things needing buff (93r xp-54)
Its almost end of the season and still zero limited time events. heavy only solo cash out was so fun. They could have done free for all powershift with smaller platforme and smaller areas to reach i don't know something that would keep the fun in the game

Yes, instead of throwing knives that are unlimited and never need reloading, unlike every other projectile weapon, can you make the throwing knives throw more and more knives, faster and faster, the more you spam? if you paid attention, you'd notice I suggested damage nerfs to Model, which currently 2-shots M and 3-shots H, and CnS, which currently does twenty million damage to everyone in a 5 mile radius. if you paid further attention, you'd notice that I only suggested buffing the damage for options that are completely obsoleted and used by almost nobody, and they were ALL options that previously did more damage before they were nerfed to irrelevance.
i also suggested buffing items that strictly slow down the pace of combat, like Mesh Shield and Medium's defensive melees.
and no, CL-40 was never meta, even when it did 117 damage. because it's a dodgeable projectile with self-damage and a slower TTK than all the other M guns. and no, explosive mines were never meta, they were just acceptably usable. it's pretty hard for a stationary trap that can be disarmed simply by being shot to be so strong that you must always pick it or must always counterpick it... lol...

Medium double sword need a buff. I really like this concept for a weapon but is a huge disadvantage st it current state.
They really need to rework the concept. The blocking is quite inconsistent. The blocking area should be 180 degrees front , the attack should be cancelable with block or at least the double swing should be less spaced. Or maybe blocking while running should be consider.
World Tour needs some changes
Make the reward system as in the Ranked. Team in the 7-8 place get nothing, the 5-6 place get 2 poinst for trying, team 3-4 gets 8 poinst becouse 6 poins is not enough when we have total 2400 points, team on the second place gets 18 and first place gets 28 points.
I think it's more fair considering how much time it takes to win the tournament and win the rounds.
Also RPG needs at least 110 or 115 damage. 1 RPG rocket can kill 8 people irl come on

...and many other possible trade-offs.

I think we need to have an update to the game that stops the a game bug that resets our emotes/sprays/sounds because literally everytime I log in at least one character is reset. Now I got in today and every character emote/spray/sounds have been wiped out. Now i have to redo it all over again. Very tedious.

Why ... when the game is over and you are told your place, you hit escape and leave match, since it is over, you still get the warning about leaving/abandoning the match? It seems weird to put the notice that you will be penalized or lose all your progress when the match is over and it all counts. It should all count since you finished the game, but it shouldn't tell/warn you that you are abandoning the game.

How controlable is the M11 for some of the top tier players?
Without mentioning names, I ran into a ruby ranked player who was quite literally using it as a sniper rifle and not missing a shot.
For some context, he was hitting consistent headshots from the top of crane in Seoul (the not under construction variation) to the billboards and 1-clipping my teammates and me.
Now, there might be a way of controlling the gun to that point that I'm unaware of so if anyone could enlighten me, I'd appreciate it.

Just came back from many months of break to check on this otherwise creative and unique game and every single time I got paired with platinum players while I'm platinum 4 while in the enemy a full premade 2 diamond 1 ruby player. And not even an option to opt out from this. They said the matchmaking is improved every season but I can't fathom how is it getting just worse and worse every time. Revert Medium Turret nerfs, too much macro/micro managing required to use it properly now. Change heal beam back to starting medium spec as well because turret in a world of destruction is rarely useful with turret as is now. Too many ways to move cashout rendering turret placement next to useless or just a minor annoyance.

It’s mainly just cuz a very small percentage of ranked players are actually plat or above (I think it’s less than 15%), much less those that are online at the same time, so it’s pretty common to go up against diamond or rubies as mid plat

When I hit “cancel” when matchmaking it means I DO NOT WANT TO BE PUT INTO A MATCH. This means that you should not pull the “quick! Throw him into the next available server!” That you very obviously do whenever somebody hits “cancel”. That button should be the “BIG RED BUTTON” that says “do not put this person in a server”. JFC

I really hope to have a option to opt out of text chat like you can with voice. Even better i could be able to mute an player able to text chat in game. prefeed to have both.

Nah man, turrets aren’t meant to single-handedly defend your cash out. They’re supposed to assist your team in combat by passively eating away at the health of an enemy, or deter immediately stealing a cash out since they need to break it or block its fire first. Allowing you time to return to the cash out and kill the team attempting to steal it since they’re focused now on the turret. Any time lost by avoiding the turret or destroying the turret gives your team a chance to get back in there.
Additionally, buffing the turret or med gun will just make the 3x medium meta even more disruptive to the game. Turret stacking is already something I see in half of the 3x medium teams, and the other half are stacking 2 med guns.

Hey Luna! I completely agree, toxicity has been insane lately. I've personally made the same decision today to just opt out of voice and text chat altogether, cause why bother. Just wanted to let you know that you can turn off text chat in settings>interface>text chat visibility. Unfortunately you can't toggle it easily like vc, but at least you dont need to be berated by (less experienced and lower ranked) trolls. Yesterday I got chewed out for using the sa1216 (he thinks that's why we lost), by a guy who ignored callouts to go fight the cashbox that was 50% complete, in order to fight at the freshly started cashbox 50m away that was guaranteed to have a full lobby third party after we would steal it.

The ranked experience is a total fuck up compared to World tour.
In World tour the game plays out like the old Finals, its dynamic, creative and a lot of fun. In ranked, you get shitted on 90% of the time because 90% of the playerbase there has godlike aim (cheatinfested??). - I'm sick of ranked so I went over to WT, so much more fun!

My issues with the game currenty:

Tournament rules
As an og beta season player, I think the old -30% team wipe penalty was far more better than -10%. It made the game mode much more interesting and exiting, with the fear of losing money when being to recless. Nowadays it is impossible to do a come back when the enemy teams have a certain amount of money. -
World tour and ranked tournament coexisting?
We all know that in season 3 world tour was made to replace ranked tournament. After the huge L from Embark after making TA the main focus as ranked, I understood the purpose of world tour. With S4 I find confusing to have two different game modes with ranks and the possibility to grind. In the early days you either played quick play of competetive ranked. Coming to new players they also might find it confusing to have to decide, which game mode with ranks should I play on. On conclusion, I think world tour doesn't have a purpose anymore, as you brought ranked cashout back. And even though I would want both emerald and ruby rank skins, it is not possible due to the crazy amount of hours it would need to grind them both. -
Balance updates and new content
I think one of the main reasons why people quit this game is the lack of intrest coming to weapons and content. When it comes to me, Embark should cofus on buffing more weapons rather than just nerfing the op ones. It is just boring that the meta doesn't change. There are so many weapons and possibilities but most of them are just useless because none of them gets a buff. In S2 and S3, the player base didn't stay high for long because all the new weapons added were just mediocre or useless. It is far more interesting when Embark adds new weapons and they are op, so the meta changes and it gives the game more variety.

Just wanna get the idea out there: I would like the shooting range to have more than one layout to choose from.
Used to love this game and recommend it to everyone. Dumped so many hours into ranked to hit diamond season 2 and this season. Amazing gunplay and cashout is unlike any other game. However, this game has gradually fallen victim to horrendous balancing choices and severe lack of meaningful content.
BALANCING
- taking way too long to make necessary changes time and time again (nukes/recon, TA incident, model 1887 is a s1 tier weapon in s4, charge is still unchanged)
- only like 6 weapons viable in ranked, more buffs embark cmon..
- making the wrong changes (stop nerfing healing beam and mesh)
- solely balancing around casual play will not make the game better for casuals
- play your game and listen to players instead of relying entirely on data to make changes
- cheaters only get a 2 week ban? are you serious?
- kyoto still in map pool
The last time we've gotten a limited-time-event mode was season 2. The Halloween wheel event was horrendous and hypocritical of them after making that whole statement about FOMO with the alien skin. Come on Embark, I know you're better than this.

Day #7 Rework the dual blades: The third attack of the combo should be the first attack and it should be faster and a dash attack, that way players could reach the enemies easier, the damage of the first attack would be increased from 70 to X1 100, X2 60; X2 50, the dual blades should be able to deflect when running but I'm not sure if the latter would be balanced

If the community/social leads and devs want to emphasize community highlights, provide special items for it, etc., remove the barriers for submitting highlights, like requiring season-specific items to be used, or season-specific maps to be played on. Are you highlighting the players and plays, or are you merely using it as an advertising platform for a given season? The latter, I don't see in any way as effective. Additionally, usually the highlight reels go out SO late, that we're still seeing S3 highlights while we're nearly done with S4, and that kind of delay just isn't palatable.
I think dagger needs a buff and here is why
I am a dagger onetrick since Season 1.
I reached Diamond in Season 2.
Emerald in the World Tour of Season 3.
I have dagger level 8 since the start of Season 4.
I am currently not getting to Diamond, and the reason is the Model. You can call it a skill issue and stop reading here (I’m not necessarily saying the Model needs a buff—I do kinda think it’s decently hard to use), but if not, here’s the reason:
I, as a light with 150 HP, need to slow down to walking speed to charge my dagger, which takes 0.8 seconds, to then get behind a medium that has a model he can run around with freely—slide, shot, jump, slide—whatever. And I need to get behind that guy? He is almost as fast, if not faster, than me when I am charging my dagger, has the same or faster TTK, and a one-shot combo available against me with full-shot QM. He can end me faster than I can charge my dagger.
Sure, one can say “position better,” but with the amount of variables, that’s a bullshit take.
Today, I was fighting a Ruby stack, and all of them were playing Model. I got a lucky pick on an unaware enemy and then got a follow-up kill because he went for a defib. The third guy demoted on my head and one-shot me with a quick melee.
Dagger already takes a lot of effort to be good in high rank, but with the MMM (Model Medium Meta), I cannot compete. This wasn’t as bad in previous seasons because there were many assault rifle players, and I had a good chance to get a kill on them. But with the amount of Model Mediums now, there is no competition.
My Wish for Dagger Buffs
My wish is pretty much one of a couple buffs I’d like for dagger:
Remove the charge penalty so I can at least catch up.
Make the slowdown take place AFTER the dagger is charged.
Reduce the windup back to 0.6 seconds.
Since the Season 4 update, dagger TTK went up by 0.2 seconds, which is a 33% worse TTK—from 0.6 seconds to 0.8 seconds. Sure, it’s more consistent now, but it’s not good enough to be viable in high elo.
I’m constantly playing against Ruby stacks and Diamonds all day as I’m hovering in the 35k MMR area. It feels like dagger just can’t compete in this meta without some adjustments.

This sums up how I feel about the game perfectly, I agree with everything you said its a bad joke that nothing has been done to charge and slam... people have been asking for that to be nerfed since closed beta and almost everything in heavy class has been nerfed apart from charge and slam... I had bought every battlepass until this season, Im not spending another penny on this game anymore I did it simply to support embark as I only rock closed beta skins anyway but they lost my support due the downhill slope they put this game on.

They should just nerf the self damage on the CL-40 now you lose every single upclose fight since you just do so much damage to yourself. Let alone the accidental self hits when something falls in front of you. It's dumb they even made the self damage this high just make it a flat 1 time the damage but not 1.6x the damage.
I don't even understand why they changed the CL-40 in the first place. The only problem the gun had was it was only 4 bullets but that was a trade off I was willing to take for the in my opinion funnest gun in the game. Now with the 1.6x the self damage the accidental deaths or the death to a result of people face hugging you is just frustrating and it makes me not want to play the game anymore.

it's fine for weapons to have clear weaknesses... in this case, cl40 having worse cqb because of the self-damage. early s4 cl40 was really obnoxious and hard to respect because of people shooting their feet and barely taking any damage instead of having good positioning to avoid self-damage. me personally, when I play it I still have fun with it just can't play as aggro and need to be more aware of your flanks. it's really hard to make a primary grenade launcher in a balanced state, they will always be either overpowered or mediocre at best.

It always had self-damage. Phantom's (valid) point is that the self-damage was scaled up too high the last time CL-40 was nerfed.
You're arguing this really weird fence-riding position where you say that the weapon is currently fine (statistically false), but somehow, it could never be balanced to just be fine, it could only be OP or UP (logically false; it's a projectile with self-damage, and there are myriad ways to balance it alongside Medium's hitscan options).

Teams lose vault fights and still end up at the cash out before the team that won. Shouldn't be rewarded for losing the fight.
Fix networking. I play 2-3 games then have to restart my computer. If I don't, i always get red ping and red desync warnings. Ive varified the files and everything. Makes it unplayable after 2-3 games.
Never said it was fine, obviously, it sucks as-is. It needs buffs. What I said was it being not as strong close-up is fine.
The self-damage earlier in the season was originally around .6x if I remember correctly. This caused a lot of people to get annoyed by the fact that people would shoot their feet from full and take very little damage in comparison to what's being dealt to the other player, causing frustration.
The reason why I say it will always be either OP or UP is because over-buffing it makes it frustrating (early s4) and in cases where it's nerfed or given small buffs, like the 5th shot alongside lots of self-damage(current) it's still been mid/weak.
@umbral turret The best-case scenario to me is to still penalize self-damage by making it 1.1x, while in turn, buffing the damage back past the 110 breakpoint to allow a shot+quick melee on a light. This would, in turn, allow it to still counter lights who play too close, but would still punish the medium if they choose to continue shooting their feet three times (if full HP). I still think the medium should be encouraged to avoid shooting themselves when around half HP.
hi, on PC i noticed when you hover your mouse over buttons like "start game" it doesnt line up right, or when say to modify a gun when i go to click the button the mouse cursor isent lining up right and the clickable box is off
RPG was a heavy staple and got nerfed away from being a requirement to take. I'd like to see the same happen to Defib. Maybe it would cut down on the overpopulation of Mediums

I think taking extra damage from your "main weapon" is stupid and at best it should be a x1 the damage every thing over that is stupid since from that point on you will kill yourself in a heavy dome when they are strealing before you are able to kill them. It's.... A grenade launcher. Being able to shoot your feet, from a design perspective, is almost never a feature in any game with GLs without being punished for it. In fact, in a lot of games, you die instantly for doing this. I don't see why you think that isn't problematic, realistically speaking.
The changes I proposed are honestly generous, would still allow some leeway for shooting yourself. It'd be plenty strong enough to deal with the light (1 shot, quick melee) while punishing you for using an explosive weapon on yourself. In fact, it'd be even more of a skillshot than before because getting full damage alongside hitting the quick melee takes some skill.
Also, the classes countering each other is fine, better even. Light, being almost exclusively CQB, should not just be shut down entirely by any CL-40 player existing. They should have the opportunity to outplay the CL-40 player without being shut down entirely for playing within their effective range.
Lastly, with the change, you could also deal with domed heavies stealing at full HP if you shoot + quick melee, shoot + quick melee, shoot. You would trade in this scenario.
@wide void light is most definitely not the strongest in every range, especially medium-long range after sr-84 and xp-54 nerfs...

We're not saying it should do no self-damage. We're saying it should go down to x1 self-damage.
Low self-damage isn't that problematic because CL-40 is a projectile and has a slow TTK to boot. It could literally do zero self-damage, and its current stats would still render it non-meta. Because the hitscan options simply kill faster and more reliably.
Also, Light isn't just effective in close range. They have the best DPS at every range, and they have multiple of the longest-range weapons in the game... This is by design. Light out-ranging CL-40 is very commonplace.

I've still seen a decent amount of people using it. While I do agree that the self-damage is probably a little high right now, I agree with the change because it should have trade-offs as such. It is a BOMB being sent out, it understandably should not function as a close-range weapon. Use your brain and give yourself distance to make sure you can use your weapon properly. If you're going against a lot of lights, either continue putting distance OR change your weapon to something that would fit better in close quarters.
During the first half of the season it was so brainless to use that people would shoot a sledge heavy from an inch away... and win. It shouldn't BE viable at close-range, It's sweet spot should be mid range, and have utility at long range.
Expecting it to viable at bombing a light at your feet is just asking too much. It's like thinking a sniper should be a full-auto shotgun at close range but also a railgun at long.

The changes you proposed would not adres the dome shield problem. since if there would be at least one more person you won't be able to melee/shoot/melee/shoot for the trade.

Sure, in those games it also one-shots, but understandably so. You're expecting there to be less of a punishment for using, as Famed said, a BOMB at your feet. Also, the shot->quick melee thing is definitely very doable. Look what people are doing with model right now. As a light player, I can tell you most other people who play light would crash out if another medium weapon was even capable of the model oneshot combo. It'd honestly be easier to do on CL-40 than model.
You're expecting way too much out of the weapon regarding the domed heavy. When someone is stealing, logically speaking, they'd have protection or some plan behind it. You can rarely challenge a stealer being protected nowadays with a normal gun without dying if you aren't playing stungun, goo, charge and slam, or having it set-up for a jumppad/demat.
With any iteration of CL-40, I see no way a low ammo count weapon like CL-40 would be able to deal with a competent team in a 1v2, or in a lot of cases, a 1v3 on cashout without gas mines, and I think that's how it should be without breaking into the realm of overpowered. It being able to deal with a solo steal is perfectly sufficient.

Can we get tdm or something like it with your twist on it? i love powershift but lately ive been getting into games where the enemy team will spawn trap and not even play the objective until the last seconds of the match makes the game not fun at all its defenitely not a "im gonna quit scenario" but it kills my enjoyment and im sure others have had this happen to them

slowest TTK of Medium's ranged options
dodgeable projectile that can even be deleted mid-flight
tiny splash radius that can deal as little as 1 damage
does 160 self-damage
rounds reload, which sometimes helps, but often means you output even less DPS in teamfights
creates lots of dust and other visual noise around the enemies you are shooting, practically giving them a mini smoke screen and making it harder to shoot them
So just to be clear, it is completely possible to give a grenade launcher drawbacks BESIDES self-damage. One look at Junkrat in OW can tell you that. And again, we're not asking for the self-damage to be outright removed. Just keep in mind CL-40 was hardly relevant even in Season 2 when it had 110 damage and x1 self-damage.
@drowsy field It used to be able to do that combo, and it was not as consistent as you imagine. It's a projectile with self-damage, and you pretty much have to land a direct hit to do the full damage it is labeled with, especially with the nerfs to its radius and falloff. Actually, I distinctly remember getting combo'd in the opposite way in S2: I did 110 self-damage after a Sword lunged into me for 140 damage...

I am getting tired of going in circles. The self damage is just too much. If they reverted the cl-40 to pre season 4 i would be happy with it. But the devs wanted it to be able to kill a heavy in 3 shots that broke the weapon, we can all agree on that.
You nerf the self damage and the gun is in a good spot. Still a mediocre gun but not a full troll pick.
Also, if you play around your team with a CL it's actually very good and even if you get killed by said light, your teammates would always have the light if played well. Your suggestions would make it a noob tube again and would make the game all about CL again which takes all skill and fun out of it just like the Model is right now and would make it even more luck over skill which it shouldn't be.
It has a decent skill ceiling now and shouldn't be buffed, else you'd just be blown to bits by CL's again within a second after engaging a team fight. Might aswell put in tanks if you think that's fine. If CL is not for you learn to play other weapons maybe.
In general CL should very much not be a main weapon cuz it makes team fights just chaotic and more luck > skill, but that's just my opinion.

Every explosive can deal 1 damage, this isn't exclusive to CL.
The AOE isn't small, it's radius is roughly 4 meters, compared to frag nades' 5 meters.

Also, TA is a mode loved by many, but the number of rounds was better before, and the mode need fixed for quitting players, like the quitting player spot that can be filled, bc it’s slowly killing the mode, for the players that like the one-life strategy and a little more "ground-level" gameplay.

Grenades are meta right now, 149 x2 with only 20 second cooldown and with all the visual and audio clutter in the game you sometimes don't even notice you get naded. I'd like to see a small change to them.
Fix spawns. Teams losing vault fights should not spawn closer to Cash Out than the winning team.
Revert plug meta.
Fix performance. Even people with expensive high end systems don't even get good performance, or at least not even close to what they used to get.
Every one I talk to in discords and in game have performance issues.
My brother, he is literally only suggesting the self-damage be reduced back to x1, and he even suggested going back to 4 shots instead of 5 to "make up" for it. That is not "noob tube" territory -- that keeps it weaker than it was even in Season 2, and it was NOT META in Season 2 -- or EVER, for that matter.
No, the current CL-40 is not fine. Almost nobody uses it. Because as soon as any newcomer who's played more than 5 games learns to aim the ARs or even the Revolver, they output more DPS more consistently than CL-40 does. Because CL-40 is a dodgeable, deletable projectile with self-damage, and it has the slowest TTK of Medium's guns.
@finite galleon It is not "easy to use" when you have to worry about killing yourself in 2 shots. And aiming such a slow, arcing projectile can be harder than aiming the ARs.
I don't believe the radius is 4 meters, and the falloff calculation is way worse than frags. Frags do 149 damage even when you aren't right on top of them; CL-40's damage can be mostly mitigated just by jumping over the explosion.
Rounds reload is bad when it tanks your DPS in a teamfight. I already said it's not strictly bad, but it hurts the CL-40 when trying to actively engage in chaotic indoor fights with multiple people.

Is it really so hard to understand CL-40 could be buffed without buffing it to the point it was at in early S4? And it is also very easy to increase the skill floor and skill ceiling: move some of the damage into direct hits only. And also, why can't it at least be strong enough to at least be usable outside of Top 500? It was never good enough to work in top tier lobbies, but right now, it's not even worth using in bottom tier lobbies... (If you can't aim for headshots, Model works better. If you can't aim bullets at all, melee works better.)

it is easy to use when you have 3 cents worth of positioning. the projectile is not slow unless you're for whatever mysterious reason are using it like a sniper.
I tried multiple tests for the radius and the AOE starts at 3.5m to almost 4, frags started at exactly 5. Yes frags do more damage but you have 5 shots that you can reload and nades are a gadget with a cooldown that bounce and don't detonate on impact so comparing them is quite silly and only shows lack of critical thought on your part.
I personally am not a fan of the linear explosive system, so I give you that.
As i said, it's exceptionally hard to balance weapons designed around AOE, I totally advocate for a rework that deviates more towards direct hits for big damage at the cost of it's AOE properties but I digress.
What some players don't seem to accept though is that some weapons will almost never make it to the higher levels of play, usually the more niche weapons like melees and you guessed it; nade launchers.

Embark, please don't make them so much next season. Page 12 rewards were, what, 15k? Make the page 13 and 14 rewards like 30k and 45k. Or 45k and 60k. The battlepass is advertised as having 106 unlockable items, it's a bit of a kick in the teeth if casual players - your so called majority of the player base - can't actually unlock them.

I believe there are bigger issues to prioritize; regarding ranked queues. Just queued and the game launched me solo without teammates or anything. *There should be a mandatory compensation for players in similar situations, especially for those that remain till the end of the game so they won't lose more points. It's outrageous to see players struggle alone or duo againts whole teams, get obliterated in most cases and still count as a whole at the end of knockouts.

Dagger should still be a click to stab, with the the added ability to hold it. Just like the throwing knifes, otherwise it's annoyingly inconsistent to try to use.
You can only have so much "positioning" when attacking or defending cashout stations. You may be able to create some distance, but Light, terrain destruction, or Dematerializer WILL close that distance.
I only compared frags to CL-40 because you did. Of course frags should have stronger explosions. I'm just saying CL-40's explosions aren't as big or as dangerous as you described them. (Also, is it 3.5m radius or 4.0? That's a big variance)
It's not that hard to balance around AoE. Team Fortress 2, both casually and in silly competitive formats, balance them fine. It's not a 1:1 comparison, but what you advocate for is like TF2's Direct Hit, which is plenty skillful yet neither overshadowed nor overpowered compared to the other RLs with huge splash radiuses. And neither of them beat a good Scout who knows how to dodge.
I agree that not all weapons can be viable at top-tier play. That's simply impossible. But I just want CL-40 to be worth using even casually again

This will:
- Make coins more valuable
- Make full sending cashouts less valuable/strategic
- Make respawn logic work better
The last person jumping off the map to team wipe and get another push for a cashout should never be a strategy unless you are completely out of coins! Also, there should never be a time when I kill a team on one side of the map and are unable to make it to the other side before the killed team respawns! This solves all of that and makes pushing cashouts more strategic knowing you will have less or no time for another push!
Me and my friend have a problem rn, THERE IS ONLY 3-5 STACKS, make a gamemode where it's only a 2 stack, we get ransoms who can't play the game so we are forced to carry a hardcore dead weight, just make a duo game mode
The game doesn't provide distance in decimals so 3.5m - 4m is the rough estimate.
My comparison was simply for the radius to prove that no the radius isn't small, I do agree how the AOE is calculated is a bit silly which I believe makes the radius a lot smaller than it actually is.
Tf2 isn't quite balanced like The Finals because there's no standard primary weapon category like rifles, every class has completely different and unique weapons that function very differently. That said Tf2 state of balance is awful in of itself so Idk about comparing them, the only reason people play this game competitively is probably cuz half the items are banned, even casual is very unfun with Sniper itself being a thing which has been a huge issue in the past year or so, items like Vacs, etc..
You could use the same "unfun" argument in The Finals, CL wasn't really a big issue in ranked even though it showed it's ugly face there. But majority of complaints were from casuals who simply disliked fighting the weapon.
I understand that CL40 is extremely dogshit, never denied. I'm in no position to determine whether it needs a buff or not, but personally I'm not looking forward to seeing the weapon in my lobby ever again as it's simply very toxic and unfun to fight.
It's a shame that the developers are no longer interested in the game, they don't listen to the community and they don't fix the countless bugs that the game has, it's noticeable that they are abandoning it and prioritizing the development of Arc Riders which will not be a game that will be very successful since it looks very generic and is not meant to be played for a long time like The Finals is.
It is completely unacceptable to lose Ranked Points when you are missing a teammate from the very start of the first round - how hard is it to code this into the game to at least reduce MMR loss when you're down a teammate?

A buddy of mine and I agreed that if you're down a person who has fully left the game, your ranked score does not change at all. Its just simply not fair, if you're going to compensate for the missing person, give the team thats missing a person, less RS, a benefit in game to give them the edge. Not fair at all, they're handling ranked TERRIBLY among other games and gold ranked lobbies are vastly different from plat lobbies in ranked. I'm 5k away from diamond and worried I wont hit because of how terrible this meta has been. You cant do anything around it besides join it and I've basically earned 90% of my kills and skill from this season by playing with the model/pike and deagles.
Its quite ridiculous at this point and I'm tired of every thuesday morning I wake up to absolutely nothing changed to the games balancing except for their mediocre skins that I have no interest in.
Edit: I played season 3 ranked a lot in hopes to getting ruby (Yeah, did not happen) and they would cancel the game if one person has left and fully disconnected from the game. What happened to that?
Oh yeah, like I said, TF2 isn't a 1:1 comparison. But it shows that AoE can be made strong enough to be a viable option but not so strong that it can't be counterplayed by good movement or hitscan aim.
Despite some sour spots, I don't think TF2's balance is as bad as you say. I brought up comp formats specifically because it shows the dynamic between AoE damage and hitscan damage. I also don't think is Casual bad balance or fun-wise, but that's starting to stray from the point.
Call this a matter of opinion, but I don't understand why you think CL-40 is toxic or unfun compared to many hitscan weapons. Yes, it has an explosive radius, but there's plenty of counterplay. Dodging, bearhugging the user, out-ranging, jumppad, APS, taking high ground, or out-TTKing. I would much rather fight the world's best CL-40 users than the people who play AimLabs in their sleep and casually land double Revolver headshots every game. There's almost no counterplay to that

basically how it would work:
it has the same activation type as invis, being a timer, but instead of taking a chunk of use on activating it, it's when you deactivate it.
while active you're able to phase through walls and ceilings, though while it's enabled and you're inside a wall or prop, your weapons and gadgets will be disabled, and upon deactivating the ability they will be re-enabled.
- How could anyone have fun using a weapon that straight-up sucks?
- I didn't ask for it to be "strong." I asked for it to be casually viable.
- You are implying AoE is somehow unpredictable compared to hitscan. It isn't.
- CL-40 is best in mid-range where you can't self-damage and it can't be dodged as easily. Indoors is not as ideal an area for it as you think.
- How do you dodge it? Move the opposite direction when they fire and jump.
- Not having jumppad during a fight with a CL-40 user is a skill issue. Preserve its charge or run multiple of them.
- APS is indeed not that frequent anymore, but nonetheless, it still snuffs out over half the shots of the CL-40. In the time it takes for them to shoot 3 shots, you can kill them.
- There are ways to push into the CL-40 without their teammates getting in the way. Terrain destruction. Flanking. Winch. Shields. Or just waiting for their team to push out of their comfortable positioning, if they're the ones forced to attack.
- Low skill floors are not what you should be worried about when balancing. And even still, like I said earlier, current CL-40 has a higher skill floor than Model or melees.
- Aim skill is not the entire game. Strategy is an important factor. You have got to learn to deal with non-hitscan options and allow the game to have different skill expressions -- even if their skill floors are low or they aren't even competitively viable. Because why not go play CoD or CS otherwise?
- One shot from CL-40 does at most 100 damage. It has 5 shots before reloading. The DPS of the hitscan options is higher even without considering headshots... So no, it's not really taking chunks* of health out, comparatively.
I agree the state of Tf2's balancing will mostly be based on opininos with how playstyles differ so heavily.
CL40 is basically not much but a nuisance, you could compare it to sword and i know sword is leagues better but in competitive play it is rather easy to counterplay, with gadgets or specs that completely deny their presence but they're extremely unfun to fight nonetheless and are pretty much hated by everyone. I don't think many would also want to see CL buffed after the Season 4 release incident.

IMO, what they could do with CL is revert the damage it does when you hit your nade ON a player, but make the nades bounce like the MGL (heavy nade launcher) when they don't hit target.

I think I'm firmly decided on this. **We need a 5th reserve slot or a dedicated backup weapon ** I think there's so much gear in the game at this point that it's getting tough to actually take things to account for other things. I don't mind not having enough room for everything of course, but it feels like we may need oooooone more slot, or at least a dedicated weapon swap slot so during the last round of a tournament we don't get boned potentially.
Does anyone know if there is a setting you can change that allows you to cancel arrows on a bow? If there isn't I think that would make a nice addition!

not sure what you mean invis is NOT spammable ever since the nerf way back in s2, which uses 33% of the charge from activating. Invis bombs cooldown is ~20-30s which is quite short consdiering the duration and its potency

Can we get a larger, or otherwise more obvious timer when Power Shift goes into Sudden Death? I think a lot of players see the extra time and forget that the game is in Sudden Death mode and they can't leave the platform without losing. Like, I'll see teams just jump off the platform even when nobody is advancing on them. Maybe something really large and obtrusive like the mid-game event warnings, that says "Keep the platform" or something.

so, I'm guessing you know how the OCE WT and Ranked player base has been severely lacking this season. Because of this on the 4th of November I decided to make a OCE exclusive Discord server with the sole intention of reviving the OCE servers so us Oceania players can play WT and Ranked on our own region servers, which is important to us as you could expect that playing on a different region's server introduces the frustration of latency, which is undesirable to play competitively with.
The server attempted a revival of OCE servers by hosting timed events where members would que for WT simultaneously to enter games, which worked to some amount of success for the first 3-4 days. Unfortunately, due to the issues of people not always being available, and the monotony of always versing the same pool of players (highly competitive, bad for casuals), people eventually stopped showing up for these events in numbers great enough to have regular back-back games despite there being roughly 325 of us as of now.
Our feedback/proposition would be to create an incentive for OCE players to play world tour, as it isn’t particularly a population issue (quick cash & power shift games are found very fast), and to ensure that players would do so on our own servers. This could be something like a limited reward, or even just a message in game to promote the game mode. If this is out of your scope, we would very much appreciate a public endorsement of our OCE Discord server so that we may have more players to join us for our organised WT/Ranked que sessions, and so we may host them more often. The server members and staff are more than happy to conform to any regulations you require of us to be endorsed. We seek no financial gain, only to help the OCE community flourish and finally return to playing games on the servers that you, Embark, pay to maintain for us already.

You really need to pay more salary to your anti cheat team, and let them focus especially on Asian server. As an asian, I sincerely beg you for more a more strict banning mechanic and especially banning those who play with hackers. These employers employ these hackers to team up with them to get promoted in rank. Thus if you dont get rid of these "employers", you can never achieve a successful anti cheat.

Both World Tour and Ranked don’t make sense to me. I have 1000 wins and ranked the highest plat 3. If I play ranked I have to face top 2000 players in order to maybe achieve diamond. (With 90% of them being pro players or hackers it’s nearly impossible).
So I shift my focus to WT since also the rewards are now much better than ranked. However I play nearly exclusively against emerald 1 now even though I am gold 4.
Feels like in both modes it’s pick and choose when to apply sbmm and as a solo player I am either way basically prohibited from reaching the final ranks regardless of my abilities.
This makes the game extremely frustrating to play since even if I manage to carry my team through emerald 1 lobbies and win I am only rewarded with the same amount of points as if it was other gold 4 players.
What is the point of introducing any type of ranked if it is all canceled out in SBMM again? If someone has an answer for me also outside of embark please let me know :).
I would love to climb ranks fast at first and then get progressively harder enemies instead of climbing at a snails pace because I have to face top players.
They NEED to either give Emerald 1s their own queue or reward you Win Points for being forced to fight them. They're just gatekeeping the Win Points from everyone else. It's annoying as hell

WT always rewards the same amount of points when winning (You get 25 for winning, 14 for second, 6 for 3rd-4th.) and has no sbmm just like quick cash, the "ranked" is just the tier of reward you get. The reason for so many E1 rank is probably cause tournaments are fun asf and WT has no penalty for losing unlike ranked

I think Model's fine as a support class—it’s not meant to be a direct combat role. Nerfing it might unbalance team dynamics. Medium already has good firepower, so they complement each other well

Well hello everyone after playing a few games of light I’ve come to the conclusion that lights are just flat out too strong.
Mainly dash, I’ve come up with a nice adjustment. 3>2 charges/unable to shoot but can still reload/increase then timer by 2 seconds. I see this as still being able to evade and stay in the fight but it’s just flat out impossible to catch up while in a gunfight against lights.
That is not generally the Model's fault.
The gun is overtuned, but it is not overtuned on all ranks. It is only vastly too powerful in the hand of high skilled players, because they can take advantage of the high fire rate while maintaining high accuracity, even at longer distances.
That is also why a lot of people complain that Model's nerf did nothing. Because it only affected the lower skilled players as people who are good with it, still hit full damage shots even at longer distances it just became harder, but they where already past that point skill wise.
Honeslty I think in retrospect the model nerf was a mistake. I would like to see them up its range back up to what it was or maybe halfway there at least and nerf the firing speed instead.
The burst damage it has is fine, the lowest I could see it dropped to is 120 tbh, but the fact that a medium can load 3 of those bursts into a heavy before they can get the medium to half hp is insane. If they just changed the fire rate so that the kill time against other mediums is within 0.05 seconds of the ars instead of being like 0.2 seconds faster the gun wouldn't feel as bad to play against.
It might seem like it has no advantages at that point over the ars, but it will still kill heavies faster and burst damage is in general better than small jabs over time, because it helps your teammates better because of the breakpoints in this game.

No Izak, model has been used as a purely agressive engagement weapon this season cuz it has the ability to deal 128 damage in 0,0 seconds and between shots you can hop around like a happy schoolgirl so nobody can damage you either. In high elo meds jusy jump pad in your face and start 2 tapping you. And when used as a "supportive weapon" (aka letting ur team go in first) you finish the opps within 0,5 seconds after engaging too cuz of the ridiculous damage. Panic shots also win you every 1v1 and third partying works the best with it. This weapon is the king of the finals or must i say, 'The Models'
The KS heavy shotgun is the real support shotty and should be switched with the Model imo. Id love to see all tripple medium mains cry when this happens

Yeah, you're right. The Model seems to really shine in higher-level gameplay where players hit all their shots. With its insane damage and mobility, it just becomes way too oppressive in those situations. It’s definitely harder to deal with when players are that accurate.
I loved the Halloween event and I think we should have an advent calendar that you have to complete daily contracts to unlock the prize for that day (for a Christmas event)

this is actually one of the most based takes on the model. i feel like most ppl complaining about the model on here likely aren't even at the skill level to be very oppressive with it. that being said tho, it could still feel very frustrating to play against even at lower ranks because as mentioned before, players wouldn't be hitting their shots as frequently. so if a player were to hit a few lucky shots and maybe 2 or 3 shot, i imagine it could feel pretty cheap to play against.

These horrendous team spawns have been here since the beginning of the season, where the enemy team spawns at the objective you are putting the vault in after wiping them, and repeatedly spawns 20 meters away every time you wipe them, and your team if wiped spawns 200 meters from your own objective and are not going to address them all season?
This has made ranked extremely frustrating to play, and you haven't even acklowedged the issue all season. Even if you aren't going to fix it, can you at least tell us you are working on it? It doesn't feel like you think this is an issue. It's gamebreaking. Wiping a team shouldn't be a disadvantage when you are fighting over a vault.

Dash needs a compensation buff!
With this update, they removed emote dashing—a tool that made light builds viable above plat when paired with dash. They need to compensate for that somehow because this mechanic was what made dash good in general. Every light player I encounter in ranked now just runs cloak instead. A dash nerf could’ve been manageable with the super dash, but now it definitely needs some kind of compensation.
Revert the dash nerf from season 3, or make dash retain movement like the emote cancle in a weaker form.

Some balancing ideas I thought of for some problematic gadgets:
Stun gun: Duration lasts 3 seconds now. While stunned you cannot shoot, use specializations, use gadgets, or heal; but you are also invincible from damage for the duration of the stun. Shooting a stunned player instantly un-stuns them (they still take no damage though).
The main issue with stun gun is that it is used offensively and completely hard-counters melee weapons, but it isn't necessarily "OP". Casual players and controller players are the most affected by this as they usually can't react or turn fast enough to shoot back, and like I mentioned melee players are pretty much as good as dead if they get stunned. With this rework it would shift the stun gun into being a more defensive weapon, but it should be nearly as good as before. Now it would be used to stop cashouts and run away from players. It could also be used to temporarily take someone out of the fight. You could stun the most threatening player and then take out his two remaining teammates and then come back to the stunned player.
Defibrillator: Gadgets are now on cooldown when you are defibbed. Glitch grenades detonate on contact with the defib holograms and pause them for the duration of the glitch effect. Data reshaper can reshape defib holograms back into their trophies (would need a slight modification to data reshaper to make it less of a hard counter to defib)
One of the main reasons the MMM meta is so dominant is because they can (almost) continually defib each other after they die. If gadgets are on cool down a defibbed player would after wait for 45 seconds until defibbing someone else. Glitch grenades and data reshaper would also allow some counter play.

Actually, it’s the opposite, faster ttk = less teamplay. Fast ttk means you can get picks solo more reliably and 1v3 easier by catching people off guard. Slower ttk means focused fire and sticking with your team for more firepower is the best way to secure kills.
This is why games like overwatch and paladins have long ttk and games like cod have incredibly quick ttk.
The most competitive players have been advocating repeatedly for longer ttk since the game released. It’s a good thing that we got it.
while i agree for the cooldown of gadgets while you re dead, what you suggest for stun gun makes no sense. the pb with Stun Gun is it cools down too fast so you can spam it
Please add replay mode so we can watch matches over again
