I'd love to see a different game mode with proper balancing taken only from actual good players/comp players.
Embark is mostly listening to the casual community, and the problem with that is most of their input is a skill issue. And this leads to the dumb double heavy meta we have now.
Heavy is soo just soo much better than any other class, and it would be okay if it were actually a mechanically/aim challeging class, but it's actually the opposite. You can do all the mistake you want and you still don't die. This would also be okay if he didn't have insane dps/burst dmg potential at any range by combining rpg + lewis.

Right there is about a negativity and I get ir there is tweeks that still need doing BUT time for some positives!

Syshorizon is ALOT easier on the eyes and works really well for the new game mode.

The new game mode is SO much fun my team loves it please make it permanent!

'That was its fkn purpose to punish players that were not playing their role or objective'... This is very hypocritical, outside of Ranked, most Lights I've played with or against didn't care about their team or the objective.

My reaction is based on countless Quick Cash games with triple L invis+stun teams that did nothing but chase easy kills, using the stun gun crutch to get a miserable 1:1 KDR, annoying the hell out of everybody else for the entire duration of the match.

Light players got the stun gun nerfed just like Heavy players got the nuke nerfed. 🤷🏻

dagger's backstab is a little off sometimes. it seems the back of the head doesn't count for a backstab, and sometimes I'll backstab, and the hit marker is right on their back, but I don't get the sweet, sweet critical hit.

Sbmm horrible done very badly, loners who have to play against teams, very strong people put against very poor people, it seems that the alone and the poor are only placed to fill the lobbies and entertain the teams of sweaty lifeless people, cheaters almost every game, general balance of the totally busted game. It's all so obvious that it's done very badly, just look at the fact that there are teams where just one gets more than 15/20 kills and then entire teams where they get 1, 2 kills and 10 deaths. And if everything is done really badly, nothing can be saved from this Game, the only thing that is saved is that it has enormous potential that you are throwing down the toilet.

From my experience losing against teams that were higher tier resulted in a minor rank up or minor rank down. Losing* against lower tier, major rank down. Winning against higher tier, major rank up.

The lewis gun is a genuine design failure

It's standard FPS design for the "tank" class to be limited in it's range, this is ALMOST how heavy works. It really seems like you guys stuck to that. Every other heavy weapon is designed for close range and loses at longer ranges. The MGL is also genius because it gives heavy the option for long range while being very limited and committal to it's playstyle, being practically useless up close. These weapons are all incredibly well designed and fit the class perfectly.

Everything breaks when you get to the lewis gun. Better TTK than the M60, Better range than the M60, Can beat the SA1216 close up in a 1v1, Can beat the M60 close up in a 1v1. Where is this weapons weakness? The reload isn't longer compared to the M60, The ammo difference hardly matters when both weapons have a ton, it's not limited to ranged engagements by being weaker at close range via low fire rate, it somehow has BETTER hipfire than the M60. What is the trade off?

If heavy is going to have a long range option it needs to be committal and weak at close range. Honestly, slightly buff the lewis gun's range (min and max fall off), lower it's recoil, and drop it's rate of fire by 25-30%. This will force the lewis gun to be used for long range defense and will have it lose to the other options close up, even the options on medium. Long range options on heavy should be niche picks, they should be reserved for when your team's comp lacks on range but you rely on having a certain amount of heavies.

I'm perturbed that my cumulative XP between reaching Lvl 96 and the release of the Battle pass extension is not accounted for. Days and days of XP gone to waste. The pain is even greater with the 24k per lvl requirement. I appreciaetthe BP extension, but don't forget I did pay for it.

Skyway powershift has such an unbalanced spawn. Doesn't feel fair that the one that spawns on the building gets free cover in their spawn and can snipe freely but the spawn at the construction area gets 0 cover and is always under fire from snipers no matter where they are

Funny how many complain about FCAR now.
1 Nerf (Damage) but 2 Buffs (Damage Range, Magsize) It's more forgiving for casuals and has the same TTK like the AKM which is not bad at all. Stop complaining!

Tbh I feel like this balance patch is half-baked at best. FCAR didn’t need to have it’s mag size increased and damage reduced, just a firerate nerf would've made it more noob-friendly. Now it’s even more similar to AKM than it should be.

Also, pretty sure Cloak's 33% charge nerf was supposed to be reverted after it got that other nerf which was supposed to ship last week, and now that we have it when will that nerf be reverted?

Please get rid or change 150K cash deposit circuit contracts. These are very tedious and takes forever to complete. Team contributions don't count for Bank It either, if optimistically you can bank 5K per game that still takes 30 games to complete. And that is probably the best game mode to do it, because good luck getting a good team with Quick Cash.
It doesn't promote healthy team play either with this.

Lowering the ROF would have made the FCAR harder to use for less skilled players, not the other way around. Slow ROF/low ammo count makes missing shots more punishing. Especially in a fast paced FPS where your targets usually don't sit still in the open.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Embark needs to find ways to break off from the current H/M shield/heal/defib meta.

I totally agree with @upper citrus on the Lewis needing major tweaking to put it in line with other Heavy weapons.

  • Make the mesh shield narrower
  • Move defibs to Light class
  • Give Light class faster health regen
  • Restrict the healing beam any way you see fit so that it becomes a recovery tool, not a combat support tool

Stalling should not be a way to win fights and games, being the most offensive should.

Also add cash rewards for unlocking vaults, starting and defending cashouts, so that playing the objectives at all times is more rewarding than opportunistic third partying.

I'm plat 1 and I almost hit diamond (I'm doing it solo). I consistently reached the semifinals and finals and got arrows up, but after the update, loss in the second round in 3rd place takes away arrows from me as much as victory in the final gives. Is this exactly how it should be? 😭

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love and adore every CM here, they are incredibly valuable to the integrity of this server, but when it comes to feedback, only being able to pass on information to the developers is the biggest issue. I absolutely hate how there is no interaction or open discussion to be had from the embark developers that alter the game balance and pull the strings in the background. I, and I'm sure many other would love to understand the direction this game is heading. Despite the fact that developer insights are shown in the patch notes with a dev note, not every significant change features a developer note, and quite often the dev notes tend to be incredibly vague.

Seeing how they nerfed cloak and wanting to make visibility easier to see, with no other buffs to cloak or any other specialization to compensate for the massive nerfs it got, I simply wonder why?! How do the developers want me to use cloak? Cloak used to be a stealthy specialization, yet the iteration of the cloaking device we have today seems to make you easier to detect at close to mid range (where most team fights tend to happen) compared to not activating it at all, that to me speaks volumes speaks volumes to how unsure the developers are with the balance of their game. I wish they would lean on the stealth and utility of cloak, being able to get into positions and actually surprise the enemy, there are so many ways they could have reworked cloak to be more interesting and better to fight, but instead they chose the path of destruction, and made it horrible to use out of the fear of the casual playerbase.

3k-6k-9k---24k----40k is not a good BP spread. In the spirit of not just complaining and offering a solution, make Daily's worth 4k ea. Perhaps penalize rerolls so they are worth less. So at least I can get a level within a couple days of casual playing and not balls to the wall grinding. You will lose my attention if rewards are too few and far between. I don't even like the page 14 rewards. Yellow is gross. But I still feel compelled to try and unlock them. Don't take that away.

My original complaint was that experience gained during the gap between me completing the original 96lvls and the BP extension is unaccounted for. Why not retain those points like you did when expanding the Career progression during Season 1?

Also, I miss my FCAR. I read your motivation behind tweaking it but feel it was just fine the way it was. Very damaging of M class to have changed it.

Sorry to complain! I do love your game and I know I'm not a developer and don't know all of your motivations. These are just my grumblings from the most recent update. Less fun for me all of a sudden.

Even after nerfing the Fcar dmg once and adding a range multiplier, why was it necessary to nerf its dmg even more to the point its basically an AKM with a scope and less in the mag? It was a gun for players that were confidant in there shots, knowing they had limited bullets but a higher reward. The fact that this gun got nuked twice, and the lewis is still doing more dmg than a 20 mag gun shows who they are really catering too. Idk who was whispering in embarks ear, but this change was not needed. Fcar is a playstyle, not just a gun

I think the FCAR nerf was good because it makes the FCAR not the best weapon between the AKM and FCAR and it lets you choose depending on your strengths as a player, not forcing you to use the FCAR because it’s a better weapon. The FCAR nerf also made lights with evasive dash more powerful because missing a couple shots could result in the light player winning (making the AKM more powerful in a match filled with lights).

Lowering the RoF would have made controlling its already non-existent recoil even easier and thus lowering the difficulty of use for newer players without buffing skilled players like an extra 80 damage in the mag has.
They do, but gutting heavy as you suggest is not how to do it. Nuking Lewis down to how weak the rest of heavies options are? Narrowing mesh shield to weaken its original purpose of team defence? Are you nuts?
Defib does not need to be a light tool, it would be used so improperly 90% of the time, if light players used it at all.
Nerf medgun “as you see fit” doesn’t help anyone. What does this mean?
I love brute force as much as the next guy, but brute force shouldn’t be the best and only way to win, stalling out a point is and should be a viable strategy.
There is literally already cash rewards for doing those things but just gradually defending, which I agree would be nice, a portion of cashout should be from defending it, but not enough so that third-partying or stealing last second isn’t worth doing.

give light a selfish healing item (like a stim) to get back in the fight quicker, or tank damage by instantly healing it back, because light dies super quick

remove explosive mine. they're so annoying, and super campy. also, two of them clumped together can instakill lights and mediums. almost every single non light player has explosive mines in their loadout, and removing them will make people use different mines

give lights a tracer style recall, so they can get in and out of a pickle, and get behind people who are chasing them (maybe for a backstab)

I don't want to make it seem like I'm specifically attacking you, but this mindset is just crazy to me.

What exactly was the FCAR bad at prior to this patch?

You said it was a "tradeoff gun" but what tradeoff was there? It has a very tight pattern, the recoil is very easy to manage, the best sight of all the rifles, and of course it has a smaller mag, but a noticeably fast enough reload that it rarely gets you into serious trouble if you're playing right.

It was the most dominant for a reason - the damage it dealt was superior to the other rifles while having almost no real downsides or tradeoffs for how much better it was than both ARs

And that's just talking about ARs. If you want weapons that have more skill expression, the model and revolver are right there waiting for you.

Even the riot shield and cl40 have a lot of tech and can be pretty scary when you use them to their full potential.

It's just disappointing & childish to see people making generalizations about the balance of the game because a single gun got nerfed lol

As someone who just got into ranked now to get the gold gun, how the FUCK does this ranking system work. Last three games, I won a tournament and my rank stayed the same. One of the main reasons i started playing this game is that i loved how good the sound worked, but after every "fix", for me the sound gets worse and worse, and now i cant hear light players at all, even worse if they are invis, cant see them at all or hear them at all anymore.

Balance changes wish list season 3:

Add the second C4 charge back to Heavy class. Carriable nuke meta is gone so please bring it back.

Give the following items an internal cooldown (An internal cooldown prevents specializations and gadgets from being spammed whenever)

Mesh shield 5 second cooldown after putting down the mesh shield. Revert some of the mesh shield nerfs. Revert some of the Mesh shield nerfs. The problem with mesh shield big health was not because it had a lot of health but that you are able to pull the shield out whenever you felt like it making it feel oppressive and unfair to play against with such high health and no cooldown between each use.

Cloak honestly needs a buff. Give it a 3-5 second cooldown when you take DMG while in your cloak making it so you're unable to re-cloak back every time and please revert the duration and consumption rate of cloak.

APS turret and Sentry turret. I am honestly surprised they don't have this in the first place. Why you're able to place down one of these turrets and the cooldown already starts so you are able to place another one right after the previous one is destroyed. It's very oppressive to play against. Make it so that cooldown starts after it's destroyed! It also promotes picking up the turrets rather than just spamming it whenever.

Give Data Reshaper 2 charges and put a 3-5 cooldown between each use to prevent Mediums from deleting everything on the map.

Heat Vision should display hazardous elements such as fire and poison etc.

Glitch grenade still feels niche against Mediums. I propose that glitch grenades destroy APS and Sentry turrets and remove mines without triggering the effects (fire, poison, explosion, glitch, etc.), increase glitch grenade duration to 7-8 seconds

Glitch trap needs a major buff!!! Increase duration of glitch effect to 15 seconds. Give an indicator whenever somebody has stepped on your mine. I've tried it out and you can't tell if somebody stepped over your glitch trap because it deals no DMG so it doesn't have a hit indicator on your crosshair. It also deals 50 DMG now

Increase smoke grenade duration and radius

Defibrillator revive animation should start when WITHIN revive range of the statue. This change makes Mediums more vulnerable during revive. I still think it's ridiculous a medium can fall out of the sky and instant revive their ally and disappear again.

Defibrillator optional increase the revive duration as if you were reviving by hand.

Fire (Pyro grenade) should prevent healing or reduce healing of healing beams so it works kind of like a caustic effect

Give tracking dart 1 more charge and give it to mediums.

Increase sonar grenade duration

Give stun gun the ability to disable gadgets and specializations

Remove flashbang from blinding allies because there's no warning or indicator to tell your teammates that you've thrown the flashbang it also give you a falls hit mark indicator when it blinds your allies making it a confusing gadget to use.

Give breach charge a second charge or lowers its cooldown or be able to detonate it faster

Increase 93R DMG slightly and headshot dmg too

Give grenades and similar items a WARNING like a indicator something like waygate. It makes no noise or any warning of it being thrown. it's deadly. Same goes for gas grenade, pyro, flashbang, etc.

Give motion sensor 3 charges, bigger radius and it should only make noise when someone walks in its radius instead of constantly making noise. So basically it's ''offline'' until someone is in it's radius and then it goes ''online'' and starts the signaling and sound effect. This makes it a more stealthy / surprise element. Same could be applied to sonar grenade

Increase gravity cube duration, radius and health. After it has ended it does a gravitational pull to the ground and enemies being pulled down take some DMG. This encourages to destroy the gadget more

Loss streak on the game today, including in my favorite game modes so feeling a bit down. Recently my most exciting wins and win streaks came from playing with gamer friends met through The Finals' VC. But the problem is that if we don't stay in touch outside the game's VC we miss each other's game time and not everyone has Discord so it's easy to lose track of people and go back to queuing solo. There's a case when I stayed in touch with gamer friend on Discord and things were said in voice that made me uncomfortable and even more anxious to get on VC with random folks.

Seeing that winning the game is very dependent on team communication, it's hard to understand why basic text chat hasn't been implemented yet. If there's no text chat in Season 3, I'll unfortunately not be able to keep playing the game as going on Discord VC or even game VC is now giving me some level of anxiety after aforementioned bad experience. Love the game and it'll will always have a special place in my heart but I have to prioritize games that make me feel comfortable and safe when interacting with fellow players. Hope The Finals goes even more in the direction of that sort of game ❤️

Why was the slide mechanic changed. It's ruined movement. I can't place a jump pad and then slide into it any more. Can't slide while using healing beam. Can't slide after melees Can't slide immediately after being revived. Can't slide while defib. It's completely changes the feel of movement and I feel like it's a bug or a mechanic you tried to change for another purpose with the oversight of how it would affect so many other aspects of movement. Many times I go to slide around a corner and end up dying because it just results in me crouch walking instead. This had never been an issue before. The game now feels very clunky to me.

I'm not saying I agree with what was done to the FCAR, though.

On the Heavy subject: AFAIK the Lewis deals 25 damage per hit (non crit), which puts it on par with the FCAR prior to the latest patch, with more than twice the ammo count, slightly slower ROF, in the hands of the tankiest class of the three. It's efficient from close to mid range, has decent hipfire, and its lateral recoil that kicks in if you fire it for too long isn't even a downside, since you don't need to fire more than short bursts to deal a lot of damage. It clearly outshines the M60.

I'm not suggesting that the mesh shield should be reduced to only protecting its user. Making it narrower is just an idea to reduce its efficiency, without nerfing it too hard (HP nerf for instance).

Your argument on the Defibs topic doesn't convince me. You're just assuming that Lights would not use it. Maybe not in casual games where reviving matters less. But why wouldn't they in a competitive setting, where avoiding team wipes is much more important ? And the Light class is actually very suited for pick & run tactics. Just grab your downed mate and dash/grapple away to safety. I am convinced that spreading survivability items across all three classes will help breaking off the HHM/HMM meta.

Healing beam nerf can be done in many ways. Some people have suggested disabling double healing, or making its HP regen rate slower for the first few seconds. I would personally make it Battlefield-like, where you can't recover HP at all while taking damage. Which essentially means that if a team has the upper hand in a fight, the opposing team is almost always forced to pull back temporarily. But that may be a bit too far fetched for The Finals.

It's not a matter of favoring brute force, to be honest. But we're definitely too much on the stalling/defensive side of things right now. Winning games should be less about "who's the best at not taking damage/staying alive" and more about "who's the best at killing enemies ?".

I'm tired of seeing so many nerfs. The power level of the game has dropped a lot since launch. I know there are still outliers (heavy cough cough) that need to be brought in line, but we need some buffs too.

I'm not saying that nerfing is bad - it's an important tool for balancing. That said, buffs are important too. It's disheartening seeing patch after patch after patch dishing our nerfs. The good stuff doesn't feel as good as it used to, and the bad stuff still feels bad.

Based on the votes the FCAR isn't dead, it's just corrected.

The unfortunate truth is that the meta players who only have fun beating the pulp out of players by using the "Most Effective Tactics Available" are not the majority of the player base. In fact, these kinds of players are the minority.

It's a spit in the face of the devs for making any other weapon other than the FCAR.
It is also equally important that the game becomes bland if there is no reason to use any other weapon. (Like the burst pistol on the light class)

People who cry about a weapon is dead is more likely to be wrong. They just like overturned aspects of a game to abuse.

Balancing weapons to make them all viable is for the health of the game.

me an my buddies have noticed connection issue when playing terminal attack. no other game or gamemode has had such severe or frequent lag spikes as terminal attack has. if u could confirm this that'd be great

80% of the matches I've played with terminal attack had one or multiple people not being able to connect, constantly disconnect or just crash before they get into the game, resulting into extremely long loading times. I haven't experienced crashes yet though

About the circuit for terminal attack, I have not received the CNS shirt, didn't check any other yet

So when playing the FINALS you can expect fast paced action, a unique objective style, and unique abilities.

With TA (terminal attack) it feels almost entirely the opposite. Playing reserved, limited use of abilities that make the game so exciting, and an objective that is an exact replica of search and destory on COD. It just is not a mode that fits this games playstyle and theme

also should be best of 5 (winning at 3 rounds) instead of best of 7... makes the games extremely long (almost an entire 3 round tounrmanents length, unless the game is a wash on one side or the other)

issues with the game:

  • no balance and the balance patches always cater to shitters, idk why the fuck the devs thought it was a good idea to pummel light, which has been unanimously regarded as the worst class in the game since release while you leave the meta untapped

  • servers are dogass; infinite loading screens, random kicks inbetween rounds and also unplayable lag are all really common issues and barely anything has been done to address them

  • spawnpoints being "fixed" a few patches ago only made them worse, you have barely enough time for a last second steal? nah, i think i'll spawn you across the map

  • cheaters are fucking everyone and everything up, and now there's alot of them in eu AND low ranks, i'm not sure how to dev but i'm sure that it's not that difficult to detect someone 250m away hitting only headshots. Also, what the fuck was the team thinking when they said that cheaters get a 1 week ban before a perma one? Just get rid of them permanently the first time.

  • More on cheaters, does the anticheat not hardware/ip ban? cause so many people are ban evading by just making a new account

  • sbmm does not work at all, if you do really good one match, you will get shit on for the next 3 matches and that is a guarantee

Issues with long distant sniping
The far character models are blurry and ghost. I have tried different settings and DLAA seems to be the best setting, but it is still awful. Am I missing something? An improvement could be fully rendering the far scene while zoomed in. I know many other games do this to increase clarity. Right now, sniping is next to impossible from far distances due to the ghosting.

Hello, I have some feedback based on a game I just had.
I was playing powershift, and because the opposing team had 4 Mediums each using healing beam, defibs, and ADS turrets, my team could not deal more damage than the enemy team could heal, and the ADS turrets stopped the counter that would have been found in glitch grenades.

Medium having the only source of healing and faster revives in the game and having as much firepower/utility as they do is inherently unbalanced. Medic from TF2 didn't have good guns for a reason.

For example, if 3 or more Mediums are on the Obj with healing beam, ADS turret, and defibs, it is next to impossible to take the Obj. You can't reasonably deal enough damage to 5 players with 3 sources of healing and revives when you can't use glitch grenades. The shape of the obj also makes it incredibly difficult to shoot out ADS turrets.

Here's a list of bugs I've encountered:

In game :

  • The cashbox sometimes drops below the map in certain situations

  • When you are revived, the reaction wheel is obsolete for a short time.

Quests:

  • The new game mode is not taken into account for the quest "Do 150,000 arena damage with arena items".

  • If you move your mouse over the border of a square at the end of a quest page, there's a display bug.

  • It's still possible to navigate the menu and hear the sounds, even on the loading screen.

Best competitive game out there right now. I have 300+ hours played, rank ~300 right now. Buffs and nerfs have all been great, I feel like Embark has a great eye for balance. I only ever play with a 3 stack though, so I don’t have anything to say about solo queue. That said, my current grievances are:

  • My team has 2 crashes/timeouts minimum per 3 hour session
  • Please bring back the ranges (or some equivalent) on the vaults when you first spawn in. That first couple seconds is really important, and now there’s no way to tell whether you’re going the right direction at first.
  • The ranked system is pretty obscure, but given that most recent post it sounds like you exactly what to do about that.

RE: cheaters, I’m an NA player and I very rarely see anyone cheating blatantly enough for a report. The last few cheaters we did encounter we were able to beat because they had 0 game sense. I think that either the cheating complaints are overblown, or they’re all from other regions where cheating is way more rampant.

Recommendations for the future:

-Please add ability to see all contracts and challenges in game as this will promote queuing and not stopping at the menu 🙂

-Please eventually add more account levels even it its only small rewards! More things to level up means more time in game!

-Keep listening to the positive feedback from the community while continuing to "Exhale" silly/not helpful comments as this really makes me feel like I can put as much money as I want in because the game will not go anywhere 🙂

I’ve been plat 1 for 2 months, I’ve won like 40 tournaments, top fragged almost every time, and I’m still not diamond. WHY, it doesn’t matter how good I am I’m still plat 1. How does this stupid system even work? If I get to the second round (there’s only 3 now) and I go 10:0, plus we get third place, why do I go down 3 arrows? I don’t even know what to do anymore, I played all day, 5 hours straight and still nothing, no matter how many arrows I go up. I know this is more of a rant than feedback but please listen to me. Aim and mechanics should matter a lot more. There should be more movement tech like apex. The heavy press W and jump in with rpg+ whatever needs to go, 0 skill. If it's a tank, it shouldn't be able to burst dmg like that and use shields whenever he makes a mistake.

the recent matchmaking update makes no sense
previously if you made it past round 1 you were already rewarded elo and it made sense since you were already in the better half of the players
now when i get past round 1 and get eliminated in the 2nd round i lose 2 bars of elo so the only way to get any elo is to constantly get to the final round which isnt the easiest while playing with randoms and it just doesnt make sense

I see lots of feedbacks like yours recently, and while I don't doubt any of it, it's very weird, because my experience in ranked has been very different.

I just got promoted to Plat 2, despite losing the final round of my last tourney. In this format or the previous one, winning or losing round 1 would always mean ranking up or down respectively. No matter the outcome in round 2 and beyond.

Since the last patch, most of my lobbies have been evenly matched in terms of ranking: mostly Plat teams, with some Gold/Silver/Diamond players here and there. It was much more stretched out before the patch, while ranking up Gold I frequently had Diamond players or even full Diamond teams in my lobbies.

So I really don't understand how things could apparently work as they should for me, but not for many other players.

Currently enemies that kill themselves don't give you the kill, so if you get someone with an explosive weapon down to 1 hp and they kill themselves you won't get that kill which in the grand scheme of things, doesn't really matter, but making it so those situations would still award you the kill would remove a lot of the feeling of being robbed

The spawns in this game are atrocious. My team respawned across the map from the final cashout so we literally had no chance to defend are spot at second place and we lost. How is that fair?

replay system for kills and a man of the round/match at every round just like overwatch would be perfect for the finals

player stats in their profile to know if he's legit player depending on the accuracy of his shots and headshot rate and all that so it would be much much easier to tell if someone is hacking or not and also way easier for embark to ban players with abnormal stats

bringing back the recon but make high risk high reward ability i suggest it if the player is using recon it restricts him from shooting or using any gadget at all until he turn off recon and make a gadget for light players to use to counter the recon in someway so recon doesn't become the most used ability in the whole game again and all overpowered and at the same time make light more useful because tbh devs killed the whole light class by the recent nerfs to cloaking and stun gun

replacing the vanishbomb or tracking dart with health bomb which heals the light for 50-75 of his health depending on his current health % i see that this would be so decent for light and make them more viable in fighting as it's so hard to backstab in the finals or hit n run with this class the games mostly is 1v1 firing and it will also make light chances to survive much more and he doesn't have to wait 10 secs to fully heal and get back to fight just to get 4 shots from a medium or something then get back to hide to heal again

and please improve the optimization.. i really don't know what have happened the finals optimization was so great at launch and i was able to run it 60fps everything maxed out at 2k naitve dlss DLAA and all great but it really got worse for some reason..please work on that..

otherwise all love to embark devs who's making really great work at running this game, definitely the best fps game released in the last 5 years❤️

the optimization for this game is getting unnecessarily worse. i shouldn't' t be getting 40 fps even in intense settings now when the game ran a steady 150 fps max settings w/ ray tracing for me at launch. I've tried multiple drivers and it doesn't make it much better. the fps seems to be fine at some moments and then suddenly dies at others

as the guy in the post suggests it heals 100hp i would say that's a little too much and unfair and would go with 50-75 depending on percentage of current health..

maybe it could be an ospuze juice or a healing bomb for throwing but if it's a bomb it would have to aoe heal team mates too incase it was casted on another team member but if it's an ospuze juice it would be only self healing which i see would be more fair as for competitive playing and for light playstyle and heals 50-75 depending on health percentage

can we get some love for the CL-40? It'd be super helpful if there was, like, an arc when we aim down sights that shows exactly where the grenade will land, just like with throwing grenades. This will make it easier to learn the projective while boosting the combat viability of the CL in long range fight.

Maybe Embark should get rid of basic looking skins and leave them for camo farmers; implementing universal camouflages for every weapon just like Modern Warfare. Each weapon/gadget could have unique and challenging objectives, encouraging players to spend hours and hours of farming camouflages:

  • Consisting in at least 10 unique camos for every weapon/gadget, with tiers and rarity
  • Rare/common skins should be revamped and refunded¹ and some epic skins should be refunded and reintroduced², those mentioned should be universal camouflages for obvious reasons
  • Some skin series should be universal³ but for the design and quality of the mentioned, the pricing is good
  • If this model continues, will damage the variety and accessibility for skins in long terms⁴ and the loss of a reliable way to retain players
  • Legendary skins remains the same

²Boreal Blink, Techno Honeycomb, Catacomb Party and Vandal's Edge

Seoul as a power shift map is quite unbalanced, it heavily favours the team who spawns at the large building with multiple floors and a diagonal roof
That building has a bunch of built in terraces and ledges to stand on which allows for a large amount of siege power

I've never seen any team push the platform past that one building for this reason
It doesn't matter how many times the other team gets wiped, they can easily just fight and win a battle of attrition from varying points of high ground as there is little to no cover for the platform moving through

At this point in progress on the other side, the platform is destroying the roof of the spawn building of the other team and there's very little space that works as high ground, as well as the destroyed building providing ample cover at times

Why not make the CL40 grenades heat-seeking ? This would make its use even simpler. Just aim in the general direction of the enemy, and it will hit. Oh wait, that's already pretty much what it does right now...

It's an AoE weapon that can be constantly spammed while requiring the least amount of aiming skill. It can already erase Lights in two hits with way too much ease.

Unless you want to see full lobbies of CL40 bunny hoppers making everyone's lives miserable, buffing it in any way, shape or form is a terrible idea. stopegg This would definitely bury Lights as a playable class. Let's keep it a troll gun for casual games...

Sniper doesn’t need to be nerf in power shift. People just need to bring barricade or goo grenade or use the pink canister randomly found in game. It’s this or the dev can just give the platform some more cover either by having something like a barricade at the middle or on the edge.
And maybe the barricade on the edge should be able to be move around the platform similar to how we can move the direction of the cane

Another idea is just to make a pink canister always spawn on the platform after 50 second

Speaking of power shift, please please don’t allow spawn to be behind the platform

Why was the slide mechanic changed. It's ruined movement. I can't place a jump pad and then slide into it any more. Can't slide while using healing beam. Can't slide after melees Can't slide immediately after being revived. Can't slide while defib. It's completely changes the feel of movement and I feel like it's a bug or a mechanic you tried to change for another purpose with the oversight of how it would affect so many other aspects of movement. Many times I go to slide around a corner and end up dying because it just results in me crouch walking instead. This had never been an issue before. The game now feels very clunky to me.

I never tilted on this game even if its ranked or casual, but today, it felt horrible and unfair when you get matched up to a premade team of two Diamonds and a Plat against a solo 3 Gold team. They literally stoled every single Cashout from just one game, INCLUDING the 2nd placer. Its like they are making fun of us the whole game. Wanted to post a screenshot of the match leaderboard post match for proof but this sub doesnt allow it so too bad. Hard stuck at Gold 1 btw, playing at Asia server.

Snipers need nerfing. Especially in power shift. All they do is sit back and click a button every few seconds either stealing my kills or killing me. It takes zero skill to use a sniper and is boring to play. Look I don’t play heavy which means I can’t place a barricade. Also I’m not just getting sniped on platform + you can get sniped at random times and it’s almost impossible to predict

Yeah, when the power shift first come out. I was one of the first people to realize how busted a sniper can be and abuse that knowledge for like half a week. But nowaday if I play light in power shift, I just play throwing knife.

Pissing off people and having them tea bag me after I got kill just doesn’t sit well with me. It’s like, you know, i don’t really mind using off meta weapon if it mean everyone can have a more fun game :3

It all come down to map design

For our game, the placement of cash out and powershift platform

For what it’s worth, I think sniper is pretty balance in normal cash out mode.
Some cash out are more open than other and some are in door but with a proper set up
You can also create some good sight line for sniper

However i don’t think this make the sniper overpower since the enemy, can also equally create wall in the form of mesh shield, smoke grenade, goo grenade, body block l barricade on the cash out.
Plus since sniper trade out his close range viability, I think it’s only fair that he has an advantage in long range fight

Anyway back to our favorite casual game mode
Power shift

Map design in power shift is difficult cause the the platform move all over the map and sometime it even dip to the low ground for no good reason. (Make sense, attacker always come 1 by 1 instead of attacking in wave which is why dev make it a bit easier to attack)

Anyway, since redesigning a map probably take too much effort
And changing the path of the platform won’t do us any good
Thus I suggest that there be some natural cover on the platform

Or just have a goo canister spawn every so often

Cause I get it, we can bring heavy mesh shield. But who want to hold down a shield for 6 min.

I’m not saying your argument is invalid btw. I’m just telling you what you can do while the rework to sniper or the map is yet to come.

For me I think sniper spot can be predicted. That or But that might just come from my unhealthy long hour of this game.

So yeah if that’s your argument for nerfing the sniper. Map design won’t help much so I guess another solution to the sniper balance you might be looking for

Is to make the sniper have s red line that become more traceable when he start aiming down sight

Game balance is in a really good state currently and I genuinely enjoy every mode but please for the love of god get rid of either cashout or quick cash, the queue times are unbearable sometimes when I wanna play for quick cash. I spent like 10 minutes in queue last night before getting a game for quick cash. I'd honestly rather cashout goes away, it doesn't feel arcade-y enough to be a warmup mode for ranked.

Also the melee rework feels weird, I feel like I'm missing more normal (not sword/dagger/hammer) melees than usual, even when I'm right in their face

Hi Devs.
May I suggest some small add-ons for the game.

  • Implement an easier way to calculate KD something like = 2.1 KD for those who watch KD more than anything.

  • Add win/loss % please.

  • In some ways, I get "benefits" as playing support example I have games that I do 1/15/3 basically I'm just losing KD and don't get any "Reward" for being supportive.

  • Implement for support role players an "Assists" score that shows that your good supportive role

  • Implement Total Combat, Assists, and Objective scores for people that need to see your "Combat Effensivy"/"Support capabilities" etc

  • Ability to see other players' stats

  • When quin to Ranked cable possibility select your role
    -L , M, H
    -Combat ,Support ,Healer
    Ranks that you want to play with

and would possible to see who qued with what setups they running for faster queries who don't care about setups

Revert everything to season 1 start. Back than there was almost no flaming or crying and the game was pure fun.
Since the last (idk) 2 updates the reputation of this game got worse and worse. It's a shame. This game has so much potential. I loved playing it but tbh now it feels like work. This might be a bit harsh but... That's the way it is right now - at least for me.

What I wanna know is why medium nerfs get to come with compensation. The FCAR nerf came with a considerable buff and a reversion of an old nerf. Whenever light or Heavy get nerfed, it’s a nerf, plain and simple. I don’t call favouritism without a pretty ample showing from the balance team that they don’t want medium to stop being as good as it is.

Okay. Ranked still isn't perfect. Here's my (diamond) experience:

  1. Get to round 3 or win a tournament. Gain 3 arrows.
  2. Sometimes lose in round 1, then lose it all. If you only got to round 3, you lost more than you gained.
  3. Repeat.

This is physically and mentally unsustainable. You need to create more factors in order to actually make the current system work. I don't think there's a single human out there that can actually tank the amount lost from losing a couple games. I've already lost around ~400 - 500 positions because of this.

I made it to round 2, lost, then went down one arrow. Excuse me?
I was rank 2800. With the new system. I am now rank 4091.

Other than that, everything is alright. You guys did a good job with this one.

rank system is still broken and ridiculous. i've been only duoing with my friend and yet he's gained 4 ranks ahead of me. i started at gold 3 while he started at gold 4. he is now plat 2 while i'm stuck at gold 1. why is he gaining points when i'm losing them? honestly such an unforgiving system that makes zero sense. literally zero incentive to even play this game anymore. thank you for nerfing light though. no wonder the playerbase is dying.

Do I even to say how many positions I lost? This is unplayable. It's frustrating. Everyone I talk with hates this. Not because of the players, but because of how the ELO scales in comparison.

I have lost SO MUCH rating. It's unfathomable (mainly due to third partying). I get severe punishment for getting knocked out first round, DESPITE my performance, and my team's performance. If cash and placement is the only thing that matters, this is cooked. That is NOT a good way of doing it.

Imagine putting all your effort, just for the game to be like "Oh. You wiped all three other teams multiple times. You stole multiple times. You have revives, dropped 30 kills, and even have 0 deaths. Your objective score is also really, really high. However, you're in fourth place. 3 arrows down for you."

That has CONSISTENTLY been happening to me, and it's not fun. It doesn't push me or motivate me to play competitive anymore. In fact, it does the opposite.

So while (most of) the changes you have made thus far are really good, when it comes to ranked, it stinks. It sucks. It's pretty bad. A lot of people already agree with me on this one. A revert would be better, but not by much.

Until this is fixed, I'm probably going to avoid playing tournaments. There's no point in playing when I can barely even move one spot on the leaderboard. I can't even get back, or even close to my original spot.

P.S. I know I'm still Diamond, but I am DISTRAUGHT. 2000+ positions. Gone. Just like that. Everything that I worked so hard for in the last month or two, just completely set back.

iam light main and the stungun nerf was very hard, its still useful dont get me wrong but i would like to see a small buff. add 5 damage to it, just like tracking dart, it helps to reduce the TTK for some weapons by 1 bullet, which is a decent buff but not annoing for the enemies. also you get assist for stunning them while your teammates finish them

Im really eh about syshorizen and las vegas. I really hope we get back to some of the first maps like seoul and manaco. i think part of it is that both las vegas and sys is very big. and las vegas being very confuseing layout. I really think sys was better since i could easier find my way around the map. but the big open gaps and both maps is so deiffent then any of the older maps

I think the sandstorm mode is the only version I want to play, since it has more ways to get around. the sides feels better since thereisnt a lot going on. simple is key with sandstorm and is a fun take on the las vegas. the sounds and light ofc very vegasesk but just makes me want to play anything else.

Sys it doest strike me with any of the map types being any thing really. is either day or night, i like that it make it easier to get in tocth with and between the 2 i think sys is the better. i really dig the artstyle ofc not every one is .

i have a lot of buddys that loss so many frames on both. persoanly i cant feel it that much but i can see if other people have a harder time running the map is not fun.

I really think seoul and monaco is the best way of playing the game. they have open areas that are blocked but feels very easy to navigate. they are big but not to are point that makes it hard to get back on track after a fight.

both have a big tale on where you are on the map the spire and the cruch works very well like a compass to me.

Both have version that changes up the maps like platform or the contusions/chruch ruins.

I hope we can get back to the older style of maps.

A suggestion for a new mode, what do you think about putting a conquest mode similar to Battlefield in the future? But not with gigantic maps but existing maps are already fine.

I also have gotten 1 arrow down on the final round, we lost final round and I personally was just protecting the cash all the other rounds, didnt get much combat score or objective cuz I was protecting and never got stolen, the thing is... why if I managed to reach the final round, even if I was using a more defensive strategy, why is also my rank down???

Basically you get rank down even if you get a good performance but lost at the firs round but you also get rank down if managed to get into the last round but with not that good performance, the issue is, now I need to constantly get kills or score points somehow, which completely destroys the point of the game that is the cash box, cuz as I said, I have won some tournaments basically preventing people to enter the cash while my team kills them, that works very good but now its useless cuz even if my strategy is good, it doesn't matter cuz winning the rounds its not important, neither is having a good performance, you apparently need to do both, it doesn't matter if you are the best of the match with an ugly team that did nothing and it also doesn't matter if you are good enough to always win tournaments if you was not getting good score points

I couldn't agree more. Since the update, the ranked system is broken, they removed one round but they probably didn't remove the punishment down arrow for getting knocked out round 2 although it's very hard to qualified even a single round. The most infuriating part of all is that in the article "Ranked Leagues in THE FINALS" they said specifically :** "Skill ratings and league systems are nearly impossible to change in the middle of a season. Drastic changes now would mean sudden and massive changes in match quality, sudden rating changes, and so on. This would end up feeling broken, confusing, and unfair"** but brother with one single change update you already made massive change in ranked 💀 at this time i'm pretty sure they are not even aware.

Yeah but this change doesn't impact skill ratings and league system. What the specifically meant was that if they changed how points are calculated now and how they place people it would mean that you would have all league in the same pools depending mostly on how well people played during placements not how much they played overall and the visual missmatch between leagues would be annoying for one side or the other if not both.

The change to rankeds they made was intended to lower queue times and the only change it made to gaining ranks is, you don't get the chance to get even more points in the final, the first three rounds basically only lost one spot for positive points which isn't a lot for faster queuing

Balance changes wish list season 3:

Add the second C4 charge back to Heavy class. Carriable nuke meta is gone so please bring back C4 2 charges.

Give the following items an internal cooldown (An internal cooldown prevents specializations and gadgets from being spammed whenever)

Mesh shield 5 second cooldown after putting down the mesh shield. Revert some of the mesh shield nerfs. Revert some of the Mesh shield nerfs. The problem with mesh shield big health was not because it had a lot of health but that you are able to pull the shield out whenever you felt like it making it feel oppressive and unfair to play against with such high health and no cooldown between each use.

Cloak honestly needs a buff. Give it a 3-5 second cooldown when you take DMG while in your cloak making it so you're unable to re-cloak back every time and please revert the duration and consumption rate of cloak.

APS turret and Sentry turret. I am honestly surprised they don't have this in the first place. Why you're able to place down one of these turrets and the cooldown already starts so you are able to place another one right after the previous one is destroyed. It's very oppressive to play against. Make it so that cooldown starts after it's destroyed! It also promotes picking up the turrets rather than just spamming it whenever.

Give Data Reshaper 2 charges and put a 3-5 cooldown between each use to prevent Mediums from deleting everything on the map.

Heat Vision should display hazardous elements such as fire and poison etc.

Glitch grenade still feels niche against Mediums. I propose that glitch grenades destroy APS and Sentry turrets and remove mines without triggering the effects (fire, poison, explosion, glitch, etc.), increase glitch grenade duration to 7-8 seconds

Glitch trap needs a major buff!!! Increase duration of glitch effect to 15 seconds. Give an indicator whenever somebody has stepped on your mine. I've tried it out and you can't tell if somebody stepped over your glitch trap because it deals no DMG so it doesn't have a hit indicator on your crosshair. It also deals 50 DMG now

Increase smoke grenade duration and radius

Defibrillator revive animation should start when WITHIN revive range of the statue. This change makes Mediums more vulnerable during revive. I still think it's ridiculous a medium can fall out of the sky and instant revive their ally and disappear again.

Defibrillator optional increase the revive duration as if you were reviving by hand.

Fire (Pyro grenade) should prevent healing or reduce healing of healing beams so it works kind of like a caustic effect

Give tracking dart 1 more charge and give it to mediums.

Increase sonar grenade duration

Give stun gun the ability to disable gadgets and specializations

Remove flashbang from blinding allies because there's no warning or indicator to tell your teammates that you've thrown the flashbang it also give you a falls hit mark indicator when it blinds your allies making it a confusing gadget to use.

Increase flashbang duration

Give breach charge a second charge or lowers its cooldown or be able to detonate it faster

Increase 93R DMG slightly and headshot dmg too

Give grenades and similar items a WARNING like a indicator something like waygate. It makes no noise or any warning of it being thrown. it's deadly. Same goes for gas grenade, pyro, flashbang, etc.

Give motion sensor 3 charges, bigger radius and it should only make noise when someone walks in its radius instead of constantly making noise. So basically it's ''offline'' until someone is in it's radius and then it goes ''online'' and starts the signaling and sound effect. This makes it a more stealthy / surprise element. Same could be applied to sonar grenade

Increase gravity cube duration, radius and health. After it has ended it does a gravitational pull to the ground and enemies being pulled down take some DMG. This encourages to destroy the gadget more

Give grapple hook two charges

Why do I get 1 tick up whilst finishing in the finals in ranked in PLAT 1? I just don't get why you guys picked this system where u only really rank up when u place 1st? Why did they destroy ranked with 1 tick ups when ur 2nd? Maybe if ur dia1 and u get 2nd i'd get 1 tick up i guess but not in plat. For the love of god is there a dev that knows of this issue? The Finals really destroyed ranked for me like this. It's impossible to rank up. If i get 2nd I even derank on the leaderboard. Shits crazy

The game has some very swaying matchmaking which is really bad.
One match I do really shit, then Im matchmaked with much worse players and I go ballistic not even dying once, then I get placed with much better players but then I get wrecked, and so it repeats.
This gets very annoying and its very noticeable

The guy I replied to lost 2000 position in leaderboard, okey he can loose because he played bad, not all games are good but i've seen a lot of people struggle too since the update. Like seriously, yesterday someone said he got an arrow down for WINNING a tournament 💀. If your own stats and performance are not in count in the process of ranked, that mean you have no control over your rank and this is not good from my pov.

I thought about why lights are not even needed in that game and as I'm a light only this few things could help to make them more useful:

  • Make the mash HP 1100 again (or even more - lights can glitch and that)
  • make cloak more invisible again (lights can scout and check what the other teams do)
  • rework the stun gun again (it's just not as useful anymore)
  • make the barrier smaller again (to make mash a better option)
  • more hipfire spray to all weapons based on there mag size (just so that a light may have a bigger change of getting away)
  • change back the fcar (because of prev. point)
  • make the APS glitchable
  • slower the turret fire rate OR decrease the cloak delay (to have a better chance of escape)

And some things I did not think about that much but...

  • maybe give the frag mines a tiny delay?
  • maybe make the glitch mine to have a smaller radius but opaque the mine itself?
  • maybe (and that's a very big maybe) let us glitch the jump pads (both from the arena and those from mediums)
  • maybe give us lights a gas mask (to make is possible to steal a cash point while it's gassed)

I know that those changes will probably never happen and some if not all of them are pro light only but I just wanted to write them down anyway.

btw why did the battle pass got 2 pages, if those pages fit more to the level system? Sponsors always were at the normal level progression and now they are in the battle pass? I would have liked more to get rewards until level 60 instead of 2 more bp pages. This is heading a bad way.

Although I highly agree with supporting the game. (I’ve bought both battle passes and cosmetics from the shop) I do think the level cap should be increased for FTP players so that they might be enticed to spend money on the game later on. Also, I wanted to come here and say the new game mode is fuggin INCREDIBLE. Addicting as hell and the new ranked system is just as amazing. Doesn’t take damn near an hour anymore for one tourney and I love that. Keep up the good work Embark. 👍💯

you really haven't thought about the game design by increasing the size of the barricades, there are plenty of places where we can no longer place them because of their large size.

if it was the head glitch that you found too powerful, just do like the RPG and prevent us from being able to shoot above the barricade, but I found that the head glitch was not too powerful given that we expose our head and 200% damage on us. The barricade allowed information to be gathered without revealing too much, now it is more of a handicap than anything else.

More customization and options for the crosshairs;

  • Static crosshair (The current one moves around)
  • Toggle to always show the crosshair even while ADSing/scoping
  • Option to only use a dot or circle without any external bits
  • Option to have different crosshairs for different weapons or weapon categories (i.e. circle for shotgun, dot for rifles, dot + cross for automatic rifles)

The players that play this game are litterly so toxic I can’t even bare to solo queue the game anymore at this point I join a pubs game with my mic off play objective nobody’s talking which is fine but then both my teammates will just leave in the first minute of the game and then I spend half the first cashout trying to find a second I go to ranked where I get shit talked for every single thing I do no matter the circumstance I was playing heavy he was fighting the last guy on a team with the cashout I steal it but get killed by a different team moving in after he died as a heavy to a light player and I have to sit there and listen to this idiot blame every single thing on me and what a shit player I supposedly am when I go to report him he teamkills me for standing still to type idk what I’m doing that’s causing my teamates to just be so butthurt off rip but it feels like it’s constant now just trying to solo queue a few games before my friend hop on is absolutely miserable every time I try and do it the past week it’s like litterly the only way you can find a decent game is on the discord but it’s seems pretty dumb I can’t just open the game and play it I have to get my phone out because I’m on ps5 and hop on discord to find two people who may or may not just turn out to have mic’s but only use them to try and force me to play healing beam medium

I think it is because most of them are changed battlepass skins. The 3 Vaiiya weapon skins have the same idea as weapon skins at page 10, just white and red instead of black and purple and all but the weapon skin from the last page are golden versions of other battlepass skins.

Some people might have found it unfair if other where able to get the same, albeit slightly different, skins they got from a battle pass, for free and much faster too, assuming not everyone has finished the battlepass yet (I know I didn't)

That said I have no idea which skins are free in the battlepass and which ones are only unlocked when you pay for them, so maybe they are all the same skins, in which case, ye they should probably be in the leveled progression.

If that is the case the only option why they are in the battle pass is because they want them to be a limited run, not unlockable later on (which also aligns with the fact that they are recolors of other skins) possibly hinting that Vaiiya might not stay a sponsor for long

I get people like to have fun and shit but the pain I get when from spectate my melee teammates who has to ignored every fight because he doesn’t have a gun make me want break stuff. So I got four things to say:

1.) I think that challenges like "steal x cashouts" should be counted for the whole team in round and not just one person (kind of like in Hunt: Showdown). I personally think that it is not beneficial for the team dynamic when I constantly have to go on cashouts to steal them instead of just letting positioning and tactics decide who does it (in a team).
It kind of leads to situations where I am "playing against my own team" just to get the cashout at all cost. Due to my Gameplay I have to grind those kind of challenges just to get them by and it is really annoying (for me and my teammates) because it leads to unwanted situations.

2.) It is sometimes annoying to open the scoreboard just to not be able to read it due to an upcoming event. It would be nice if the scoreboard would overwrite the "Event-announcement"

3.) I said it already plenty of times but just to make sure I am gonna add it to the list again:
Please change the Death-/Killscreen UI color to either blue, the color of the team that killed you or totally new color not implemented in anyway yes. I got usedto it but i think it is really unintuitive that it is just downright purple which already represents an enemy color.

4.) I find the new uprank/downrank display very confusing. I think the definite points were much better to tell how the match effected your ranking

So after playing the new mode for some time now and seeing how much better lights are there compared to rankeds I came to a conclusion that it is the health regen or lack thereof that is helping the light class the most.

I think it could be an interesting idea to try and implement that system to the rest of the game, not necessarly the way it is in the terminal attack, coz it feels like it favors lights too much and would not be good for the extended fights of cashout matches.

I think good thresholds would be:
100 HP for lights
150 HP for Medium
200 HP for Heavies
or 150 HP for everyone (tho that might be a tad too unfair towards lights)

At least for the beginning, those could of course be adjusted later. At the same time changing that without changing the healing beam would probably make it the best specialization in the game so I imagine both its' maximal healing output and recharge rate should be hit with the nerf hammer.

Meaning it would be able to heal less overall health and you would need to wait longer for it to be healing again. I think the healing rate it currently has is fine as long as you can't have it in every fight, for the entire fight as it basically is right now, and those changes would make you choose between healing or engaging in the moment with the heal.

Barricades Feedback:

you really haven't thought about the game design by increasing the size of the barricades, there are plenty of places where we can no longer place them because of their large size.

if it was the head glitch that you found too powerful, just do like the RPG and prevent us from being able to shoot above the barricade, but I found that the head glitch was not too powerful given that we expose our head and 200% damage on us. The barricade allowed information to be gathered without revealing too much, now it is more of a handicap than anything else.

  1. Headshots aren't always 2x damage, most weapons actually have a lower multiplier on headshots and some don't at all so having only your head exposed actually hinders weapons like shotguns and CL-40

  2. I think the problem was more the fact that player models have their guns behind the barricade while still being able to shoot through it, because guns are positioned slightly higher from the shooter perspective ad it was bewildering to see a heavy with his gun behind the barricade still be able to shoot through it.

  3. While I agree that maybe adjusting the barricade was not the best option it was a fix that required the least amount of testing, basically just saying "no you can't do that anymore" in an obvious way, if they instead changed the barricades so that you just couldn't shoot above them it would probably take some more coding and it would feel weird that you cannot shoot what you are able to aim at, and a whole lotta stuff like that.

Weapon balance suggestions

FAMAS: buff range (10m min and max)

REVOLVER: buff range (5m min and max)

MODEL 1887: increase the dispersion of the 4 pellets in the middle of the shot slightly so that the shotgun is less effective against light at range

Lh1: nerf fire rate by 50%. Buff damage from 49 to 50. Lower min damage fall off to 50m and max to 80m

Xp-54, 5% fire rate nerf. Reasoning: the XP is a generalist weapon that also happens to be just as good as the other light weapons in their respective niches. Those weapons aren’t even bad either, the XP is just too strong. A slight adjustment like this would help the other weapons stand out as being more worth it. The Lewis gun and rpg nerfs at the end of this giant suggestion will more than make up for these necessary light nerfs

93R: give it a drum mag, if damage stats are going to be significantly worse, allow it to sustain that lower damage for much longer. 60 round mag.

Lewis gun: buff range (+10m min and max) nerf fire rate by 20%. Reasoning: there is no reason why the long range alternative to the m60 should beat both the M60 and the SA1216 at close range, these changes will encourage users to play to the strengths of the weapon and give it a weakness close up

RPG: nerf damage to 80, remove aoe fall off, reduce cooldown by 20s. This would encourage using it for team splash damage instead of being a “fuck you” button for lights. The cooldown buff would also make it less punishing to use for destruction

Does anyone else experience inconsistencies regarding gaining and losing ranks in ranked?
i played all my games with a friend. I play H, he plays M. For some reason he gains almost twice as much points than me and also loses half of it. We've been hovering over dia 4 and plat 1 but he always gets more "arrows up" and less "arrows down" than me. Sometimes he even gains 1 up when i get 1 down which honestly should be reverse since he is higher in rank than me.
I havent read anywhere that there is performance based ranking, only that the wins and the money at the end matters.

Good to see Ranked is in the talk right now. I started playing the Finals a few weeks ago and today was finally the Day to start Ranked with my Friends. Both of them are Gold 1. We played against Gold and Platinum and we won 1 Tournament, got 2nd once, went to round 2 two times and got our ass beat one time with a loss in Round one. How in the ever living ... is it possible that i get Ranked in Bronce 4 after that? What kind of joke is this suppose to be?

The recent blog post about the ranked games from the devs explains it more or less, but to save you the trouble of searching for it TL;DR is basically you get placed lower than you should be, but rank up faster to that point, just so you can experience climbing up and progress instead of feeling like you are stuck at your starting rank forever. They plan to change that in season 3 (this is also a bad place to talk about it more since the 30 min cooldown on messages)

Contracts should have alternatives. Like do this or that. Lessens load on the player. Sticks with options and alternatives.
Contracts like "Steal 15 Cashouts" should count teammates so no foul incentives to throw a nade when a teammates arrived first to steal, or to leave a cashout to steal another and leave your teammates behind for selfish reason. Quitting early will also be reduced. I know because I quit to get into another game when the one before doesn't have chance to steal cashouts anymore.
Devs should get someone who understands behavioral science to write some of the contracts. Some of the contracts don't make sense but they can't monitor the effects because they don't seem to know what to look for. I've quitted games because of some unnecessarily difficult/particular contracts. The reroll was a good idea too (for the dailies) but the others need some solution too.

You know what would really help with queues? Instead of having separate queues for each mode allow people to select which modes they want to queue into and queue for them all at once. So if you want to play cashout or quick cash you can queue for both same with powershift, bank it or terminal attack.

Right now the playerbase is split because there's too many modes with their own separate queues.

I would be fine with that I think. Maybe there's another way to make-up for that the xp loss. Such as more contracts (but as I said with alternatives). I just don't like incentives that make me go against the interest of the team. It sounds absurd. The other contracts don't do this to me. But unnecessarily difficult/particular contracts make me even quit games early (and I've noticed it). I don't really quit games but this contract made me quit early in 6-7 games just tonight now that I think of it.

On a side note, since I can only send a message every now and then, they should fix the following:

  1. The enter/exit voice chat ("K") working even though one is typing in a Report (Player). It shouldn't! I see some unintentionally join the voice chat when making a report (see: when they type with the letter and the game thinks they're activating enter/exit the voice chat).
  2. F12 being the button/key to remove the overlay/user interface. F12 is screenshot in a lot of games/platforms (such as Steam) so here it does both for me which is crazy. I hope the remove overlay/UI button/key can be remapped (ex. to F11).

In my opinion, the "improved" ranking system is only a downgrade, who even wanted to have only three rounds? I (Plat1) play against Dia1 people, where I wonder what you have a rank for at all, after all, it doesn't seem to bring anything anyway. Likewise, I still don't understand why I get 2 arrows down in a game for the first round but 3 arrows down in the second round. Where does that make sense? I don't have a queue against longer waiting times, but I have something against unfair matchmaking. Please do something that I also play with people who also have my rank.

As a player that has been playing Finals since the start of this game in beta what was a fun FPS game has been very changed up... I understand the removal of recon ability that medium did have thats fine because medium still had sonar nades to counter light when they would go invisible etc. Not just that but before going into revive/actually play the role as support you could scan the area with a sonar nade.

Now medium has had sonar nades removed from medium and given to light who can go invisible. Again the removal of recon ability imo slowed down the gameplay of this game but that was fine because medium still did have sonar nades... NOW we dont even have sonar nades as medium.. Medium has 100% been changed up from its originality that is for sure but help me undserstand why light can go invisible yet we have 0 way in this game to counter said ability because the only counter we had was removed from medium role.. Btw that new snd mode is nice!

Heres a idea since we have 0 counter to light going invisible. The only counter is actually using our eyes and ears but just as players called for the removal of recon ability because there was 0 counter to it. How bout light gets the invisibility ability removed seeing as to there being no counter now to that ability.

Also the matchmaking in ranked what exactly has changed? There is still lower ranked ppl being matched up vs stacked diamond players. Could you imagine being solo Q with randoms on your team who has 0 clue how to play the game yet the games matchmaking puts those players on your team and puts you vs stacked diamond players who sit in discords playing Finals ranked from 9-5 daily and knows everything about the game. What great balanced matchmaking when the simple solution is as I been saying all along... STOP matching solo Q players vs stacked teams meaning if a player is solo q dont put them vs ppl who are partied up together as a team. Match parties vs parties that is how you create fair balance matchmaking. You can put a diamond solo Q vs a team of bronze stacks but its still not going to be a fun experience. Its wait 5 mins for a balanced match to match solo Q vs solo Q or find a stack and go and play vs other stacks with a quicker queue time. Its that simple thats how you fix matchmaking in any game.

because heavies are incredibly slow and easier to hit at long ranges, making it easier to harras them with nades before a fight too, also their recoil makes it harder to win in long range engagements, all you have to do is not faceplant into a heavy and you can win with him.

Sure the equations change a bit when he is getting healed, but it is not like they are getting healed faster than other classes so it shouldn't be a problem

Light balancing suggestions
-Give the grapple hook another charge, the only people I see using it are snipers, and honestly that's a shame cuz it feels like it can only be used as an escape option.

-Nerf the sniper into oblivion, or put it on mediums, the only people you see not pulling at least 10-15 kills with it per game are people who just stay in one sniper position the whole game instead of relocating after dropping a mag, my suggestion is upping the fire rate, lowering the hipfire spread, and lowering the damage significantly, maybe keep headshot damage relatively the same, so that those who put in the work can still succeed with it, but don't reward body shots as much, and the higher fire rate will allow them to support with suppressive fire, or destroying turrets and barricades more effectively, makes them actually useful to the team dynamic instead of having those games where the light is the most useless member of your team.

-Buff Double Barrel, for the love of god that weapon is so close to greatness, that reload time is stupid, I'd understand if the weapon had additional perks, or we had a secondary weapon to offset it, but as things stand it's a weapon that has to coordinate with team members to be effective, which sounds good, until you realize that means the light is just picking a worse weapon by comparison to the rest of it's primaries, as things stand picking an smg is just straight up better and offers more consistency and picking off priority targets is better for your team anyways.
My suggestion is buffing fire rate and reload speed, because 90% of the time you wind up popping off both your shots, whiffing half the pellets on the second shot, and then die because the second they hear that shotgun it triggers a "KILL KILL KILL" reaction in the enemy team. And just to be clear, I'm not saying it should kill in every interaction, I'm just saying it shouldn't be a death sentence to not perform immaculate with the weapon.

-Change up throwing knives, allow the light's to throw a third knive with m1, this is more of an experimental suggestion, as I'm aware with a little tweaking the throwing knives could completely tip the scales, but currently they are just niche and while fun to use, the time to kill with m1 (the only viable means of killing close range) is pathetic, I think the extra throwing knive would allow the weapon to be less punishing for new players and allow for a higher skill floor as well, since now you're aiming and leading a third shot.

-Buff dagger, literally just copy paste spy from tf2, or better yet just make it a secondary weapon for the lights, sets them apart and gives them a strong ambush weapon that they always have access to, and allows them to finish enemies after they've run out of ammo (ahem potential offset for the DB Shotgun) plus you could also do some shenanigans like giving the sword and dagger a unique moveset.

-93R, this weapon is just an inverse V9s, which means it sucks, yeah, more range is nice, but those ironsights make it feel awful to use for it's intended purpose, the spread of hipfire make it a crap chute for mid range scraps, and at close range you're better off with literally any other weapon, even if you claim "skill issue"... well I could just pick another gun and do better than someone who is playing out of their mind with this weapon, like... idk... V9s. There is legitimately nothing this weapon does that I can't do better with another weapon, there's just no legitimate reason to use it over the other weapons, which sucks, cuz I actually really like burst weapons.

-Breach charge, get rid of that stupid delay before you can pop it, genuinely one of the most baffling decisions I've seen. And also, give the light some gadgets that make sense for an aggressive playstyle, or better yet, do as I suggest earlier with secondaries, but instead, have it take up a gadget slot.

I play dash and grapple, and I think they're both entirely fine on the ability side. It's just the flat problem that light is always killed faster than they can kill regardless of movement if your opponent has any aim. The only thing that'll be a meaningful buff to light here is a health or dps increase.
I'm totally ok with them nerfing stun too hard because it's a really unfun ability, items that are so cancerous should generally not be powerful for the health of the game. Same for cloak, cloak sucked ass to play against and I'm glad it's now not a good tool to engage on. But they need to pivot with these changes and hard buff the base light, preferably with a straight up 10% damage increase

Hi I face this problem several time, when I play rank game and advanced to the next round, sometimes, my screen will keep loading on a "Waiting for other contestant to join the next match" and it will keep on this screen for 10+ min and then I just disconnected. Also my rank result is dropped after I got disconneted, hope this is fix soon 🙏🏻

Terminal Attack and Power Shift should both be added to the Ranked Pool especially once the ruleset becomes more honed out. Example? 6v6 and not 5v5 for ranked. Why? Teams of 3 perfectly add up to 6 v 6 so you get to work with your enemies in one round and fight against them in the next should you qualify! Nothing lost. This Terminal Attack health regen BS is BS and I will not use any other language... be real guys that is just not a good idea.

Powershift is unfit for Ranked. Most maps have unbalanced teams respawns and favor snipers too much. Sys$Horizon may in fact be the only exception. It's fine as a casual mode, but wouldn't work well for competitive games, even if snipers were banned.

I swear people only look at the weapons as if they're meant to be balanced around realism it's insane. In terms of RAW DPS, heavy should be the 2nd highest but heavily limited by range. This makes perfect sense because heavy is the tank/defense class, if you are close to a heavy it means that you either fucked up your positioning or that you are attacking a heavy's objective, in which case, the heavy should have the advantage. Medium should be the lowest DPS of the 3 classes, not every class should get it's power from it's primary weapons. The trade off when picking medium should (and currently is) that you trade DPS for team utility. Medium posses many unique abilities (healing, projectile deletion, instant revive, team movement, etc) that are incredibly strong and should be the reason why medium is picked. Every class needs a trade off. The only class left without a trade off is heavy and it's entirely because of the lewis gun. Heavy shouldn't have any consistently good long range weapons, that is very standard tank class design. This is how you give medium the ability to play against heavy without just buffing dps which in turn, screws over light. Medium needs more range than heavy and less dps (currently only has less dps) Nerf the lewis gun, rpg, and lh1 and the game is in a perfect spot.

There is no reason for the support class to do more dps than the tank class.

ah yes the classic heavy should be an insta win on close range for ''reasons'' while having 3 get out of jail cards that negate poor positioning ( mesh shields, dome shields and barricade ) and the only 100% reliable burst damage ( the RPG ), there's no reason the tankiest class should literally delete everything close range when you're force into CQC fights because the game is objective based, we get it you think medium should be a heal bot, light free kills while heavy just dominates without even trying you can stop now

I'm Diamond with 500 hours I just want this game to be fresh on life and things that are inconsistent with the overall system of the game will always be outliners to be fixed. The Health Regen is trivial it limits my One-Trick Pony builds of Melee Or Flamethrower because I'm getting Turreted and Chipped from Narnia... I get it really I do though it's the same as complaining about Sniping in Power Shift. Realistically unless they upgrade Ranked in some extreme way I'm not sure where else it can go at this point. 6v6 with class/gadget regulations as well as other minor rule tweaks maybe spawn adjustments I could see Ranked evolving like Overwatch did. Power Shift and Terminal are seriously well-designed modes and I'm having fun with both more than ranked in Season 2 personally.

🪲 Bug 🐛 I tried to play but was stuck in a previous game. My two options were:

  1. Reconnect: I could "reconnect" to the end game view which let me see how many kills I got and whatnot
  2. Leave game: I could also leave the game but incur a penalty for leaving a competitive match early

I tried the first one but was stuck in a loop because even after exiting, I was still stuck with those two options. I left my house and came back hours later to the same predicament. Figured I'd just hit leave game so I could play. Now I'm stuck with a 30 minute timeout before I can play again. I think there's clearly a **bug **happening here, and there's no way I'm the first (or last) to experience this

People don't give the ping enough credit, it tracks about a second and allows you to see through brush, follow around corners, and teammates get to see where you're shooting

Still fighting the same top triple stack team at plat 1 that I fought as a silver 4..... rank 13k now, why am I going up against the top team in the world over and over again? There's seriously not 12,997 other players out there I could potentially fight instead? Like wtf is this, I've been fighting the same team since I was placed at silver 4. Its so insanely frustrating and demotivating to try and rank up when I'm not even diamond yet and I have to go against literally the best team out there and face deranking for it. Not just once. MANY TIMES. And for what? So theres a short queue time? I'll honestly wait 10 minutes to go up against the teams that are closest to my leaderboard rank, I don't need a 30 second queue just to get shit on for a whole match or two. SBMM IS ABSOLUTELY FUCKED.

Side note, I've been playing with one friend the whole season. He's been plat 1 for two weeks. I was gold 4 last week and am now currently plat 1. We played all the same games in that week, how does he not rank up once? I went up 4 leagues and he doesnt go up 1? Might want to just revert to the last FP system huh?

I Why was the slide mechanic changed. It's ruined movement. I can't place a jump pad and then slide into it any more. Can't slide while using healing beam. Can't slide after melees Can't slide immediately after being revived. Can't slide while defib. It's completely changes the feel of movement and I feel like it's a bug or a mechanic you tried to change for another purpose with the oversight of how it would affect so many other aspects of movement. Many times I go to slide around a corner and end up dying because it just results in me crouch walking instead. This had never been an issue before. The game now feels very clunky to me.

I've been thinking a lot about this season's balancing changes and I am a little bit confused and would love some design input here but wouldn't made sense if:

1. Light build had Recon Senses specialization (since this is a more of hunting/flanking build, having a specialization like this would make hunting down solo players more easy + a great counter to players using Cloaking device and/or Vanishing bomb)

2. Shooting a player whose ADS'ing with a sniper knocks them out of ADS ( Having a sort of sniper flinch mechanic would make sniping more of a challenge but also would make suppressing fire a reality)

3. Medium and Heavy builds had Thermal vision gadget rather than Light build having it ( I believe this would alleviate some of the complains against players using Cloaking device and/or Vanishing bomb non-stop)

4. Players who are invisible have their eyes glow with the color of their team. (Should make spotting them easier + some real Predator stuff right here)

5. Medium build had Motion Sensor gadget (I haven't seen a single Heavy build player using this gadget as opposed to the barricade and/or dome shield, a gadget like Motion sensor feels like a good gadget for a Medium build with a APS turret and/or Guardian Turret)

**6. APS Turret loses health with each successful enemy's projectile shot down **(pretty much self explanatory, I believe this is a much needed nerf)

**7. Power Shift and Terminal Attack had a remove 2 weapons, 2 gadgets and 2 specializations phase at the start of the match **(each team would take turns to remove 1 weapon, 1 gadget and 1 specialization, this should allow for games to not rely too much on ''metas'' and spice things up a bit)

**8. Dagger was a gadget **(As a weapon, the dagger underperforms, if it was a gadget, it would have 1 charge, if the player lands a hit with it, it spends 1 charge and then they have to wait a couple of seconds to use again, if the player misses, they keep the charge)

I didn't feel like Recon senses ruined the game (yes it was a bit OP and definitely overused in comp) but it just needed to be reworked and feels more fitting for a Light build to have that rather than Medium whose role should be more a support rather than hunter'ish (or at least that's the design approach with Medium I think the devs intended), Cloak is worthless in a competitive scene yes but there's been complains about it pretty much since season 1 (gotta think about our casual friends here, since I assume they make most of this game's player base), as for the Dagger, even though it was supposed to be gimmicky, I legit think it was the worst weapon in the game and after the hitreg changes, it feels even worse now, would like to see some changes to it.

Too much modes for ranked = More ranked leaderboards OR various ranks/systems = Much more work to do. Devs should focus more on the problems we already got, and occasionaly drop such content bombs on us such new gamemodes so we dont lose all our mind in Cashouts and Bank It and leave the game.
Also, balancing Power Shift/Terminal Attack for ranked will be very hard in the terms of leaderboards, because they will probably need additional ones with their new ranks and ranking systems, and that will take like eternity. to make. Devs should work in their own pace so they dont overwork and get tired of simply thinking about the game itself.

I'll mix it up and add some positive feedback in here: I think matchmaking for gold+plat has been massively improved (from my personal experience) and really enjoy the new game mode. Enjoying the additional levels in the battle pass since I was maxed before. Rank change visibility is also a lot better. I'd love to see more map-specific stats (e.g. win rate per map) in the career section. Overall really having fun with friends playing this game

Matt Lowe needs to find a new profession. How can you loose second round in a lobbies with every team full diamond WHEN I'M PLAT and still go down 3? And then in other games WHILE I'm diamond vs. plats and golds I can loose second round and get an up one. It makes literally 0 sense. I go from being top 5k to 9k in TWO GAMES. Everyday, since the update, I have de-ranked and then ranked back up, and there is no consistency at all in why this happens. I literally won three tournaments in a row yesterday and now I'm back down to plat 1 after loosing 3 games in round 2. And as an added kick to the nose, 2/3 we lost in 3rd place and I still got 3 down arrows. **Matt Lowe is the most incompetent game designer I have ever come across. I could do a finer job than him before the next season begins. **

Can we talk about the defib revive animation being see-through but not letting bullets pass through it? The short invincibility after a defib revive is already questionable, but being able to take cover behind someone that's being revived doesn't make sense to me. The defib is already so strong it's a no-brainer gadget to choose and not having invincibility after a revive or sitting behind the animation likely won't influence that in any way. This thing has lost me multiple matches because I'm shooting at someone who's trying to ninja revive, sometimes they manage to survive because they get the ninja revive off and the animation absorbs all my bullets. IMO ninja revives shouldn't pay off if there's an entire team shooting at you, especially considering the long TTK in this game it's often impossible to kill someone before they get their defib revive off.

To me it feels like a bug but I mostly want to know if it's intended or not.

@zinc carbon It used to have a bit higher dps before they nerfed it. Now it's lower. only has 25bullets vs 47 on lewis and heavy has rpg that inflates ttk when you start fight with it. On a "tank" with 350hp + shields it's not fair whatsoever.

its impossible to rank up rn because even if you make it to the 2nd round you still lose 2 or 1 progress bar and previously you would usually gain one progress bar for that so if you played 3 games and got eliminated in the 2nd round each time before the update you would've gotten 3 progress bars but now in that same scenario you would lose around 5 progress bars which is an 8 progress bar difference in just 3 games with the same scenario and it just doesnt make any sense
its a shame because i was actually looking forward to grinding to diamond 1 this season but now im probably gonna be stuck at diamond 4 for the rest of the season

Everything feels like it's been over corrected just a bit too much

FCAR a needed nerf but lost 3 damage to account for the 5 extra bullets but now has a worse DPS than the AK a gun with nearly 40 bullets

Stun gun a needed nerf but it went too far and now when I get stunned I nearly never notice it happening it needs to regain it's Utility loss

Invisibility/Cloak it's visual shimmer was fixed but it's max view distance was also increased

Barricades fixed the head glitching heavy meta (Of which I fully used) but it was made too big and now can't be used in a lot of areas

Ranked supposedly made the SBMM tighter but now everyone is deranking because we lost 1 of the ladders and the points system wasn't adjusted to compensate

So the wierdest thing just happened to me. My game crashed during a tournament game and I managed to get back and we still won that round, but right after it ended I got booted from the game and got a suspension (that was already at 1/9 minutes so basically like I was kicked from the game before the round started) I am not really sure if that is a bug, but for sure feels like something not intended to happen, happened

EDIT: Especially when after playing two rounds, its actually only registered one round.

@zinc carbon Wdym two shotguns no one uses, my guy they're the two best shotguns in the game! If a heavy isn't running Lewis gun (for some reason) , they're running SA1216 or KS-23. Sledge I wouldn't use in comp personally, but in quick cash? All day. Super fun when you play differently. People don't suspect it.

Medium is too well rounded. It doesn't need both healing beam AND defibs. Kinda dumb decision making on that one.

Comparing a red-dot sight to iron-sights is kinda lame. And not so much after the recent nerf it got. AKM feels so much better than fcar now. And plenty of us 1v1'd heavies and both won and lost, but it doesn't change the stats of the weapons. OP only showed body damage for Lewis gun from a screenshot of a Google search, but showed the full report of fcar on an elitist website. Lewis outperforms fcar on damage, but that's it really.

On controller I like to play heavy with the barricades. However it is hard to play with them in the midst of a firefight because when I go to switch back to my primary I end up attempting to pick up the barricades. This also happens in doorways or fighting around a freindlys statue.
To prevent this and make gameplay smoother I would love the ability to select priorities for these actions or bind my Y (or quick swap) to another button without “interaction” following it

I dislike the power shift cart track for Seoul, I don’t know what could be done better however I don’t like that on some matches you just entirely won’t fight in spots of the map.

In Skyway and Horizon this isn’t an issue at all, as you use most of the map on both teams, on Monaco you technically don’t but the whole map is very similar so it matters less.

Seoul has a wide variety of terrains and I find most of the time the match ends up staying in the center building, which by the way, fantastic job this is certainly the most balanced map out of the box.

My suggestions for potential Light buffs to make them more viable.

  1. Make lights intrinsically heal faster while out of combat (X %) just like how lights are 10%~ faster than the other two classes.
  2. Revert the previous nerf to invis and buff dash
  3. Added some sort of support gadget like a AoE heal bomb or some sort of light overshield sort of gadget.

I budgeted my time to ensure I would complete the battle pass. You've added two pages and there is not enough XP in the game between the masters circuit and the remaining dailies to finish these two pages. They should have been in since the beginning and I would have done more dailies.

I love many things you do with the game Embark. Also the new gear and battle pass extension, very grateful for that. However, to start, Powershift... this is by far the most unfun mode for me to play. Just.... awful. Having to play this thing for the Circuits was absolutely annoying. And yeah... the same old story: Light I really hope you are planning on significantly buffing this class and fixing weapons' hit registration (dagger and sword e.g.). All 3 specializations that Light has are fun to play imo, they also enable different weapons. I agree that invis + stun was annoying and smth needed to be done about it. Please revert the changes made towards cloak, it does NOT need 33% activation and it does NOT need to be more visible. People have to learn to be aware of the cues of a roaming Light. It's normal having to learn things. I for one know exactly when someone is trying to sneak up to me. And as if it wasn't already discouraging enough to play ranked, I could probably not even find anyone on this server who would like to queue with me bc I play Light. Everyone says no Light. That, I think, is a sign, that the class needs buffs, not nerfs.

Idk why people are saying light is not good.. It just takes a little more caution and skill to play with considering the how much life they have. Stun gun is still a great option as it can stop steal from even further away which is huge.. invis is a little harder to use but it’s far from unusable.. the only thing I would like to see is 2 grappling hooks as no one uses that gadget and feel like it will bring players to use it.. I love that lights have sonar grenade now, it’s always been my favorite.

I think the ping system could be updated, right now it feels clunky and is heavily magnetised to objective. I’m using apex as the benchmark because they honestly have the best ping system imo but it feels so much more precise. Snipers absolutely have to be removed from TA. They become one shot kills in late game. Either that or increase health regen to 150. They're definitely holding the mode back rn. Turrets are a bit OP too but more managable.

SUGGESTION:

  • nerf heals and give heavy smoke grenades. also let thermal vision show team colors. and make power shift platform not move when your contesting the point. buff the glitch mine.
  • add terminal attack perminantly to the game after some tweaks

IDEAS not suggestions:

  • specialization or gadget that randomizes loadout (or the gadget?) slot on use
  • healing bomb for light? or healing device or drone? stationary or mobile?
  • semtex? light only? (timed sticky grenade)(smaller radius?)

the finals isn't officially supported on linux but i really hope that embark does officially make the finals supported on linux..

while i know that this is going to be complicated and comes with obstacles to be done because of the well known ass shit called EAC i hope that embark don't give up on linux players and community they may seem small compared to others but they're the best and the cleanest💙

i have seen linux doing good with the finals in the mean time but the last update bring a lot of bugs with EAC kicking linux players randomly from the game but before that i heard it was totally fine..i don't know if that was intentional by embark but maybe they was testing it idk maybe the official linux support is near? Hopefully though they don't just say (nah linux support is not worth it) like other greedy ass companies ehm ehm(riot)i have high hopes with embark devs♥️

I would love this! I had to purposely install windows to run this and other games due to anticheat and windows requirements. On popos the game would keep hanging but works totally fine on windows. Linux support would be incredible!

@earnest sierra yes it was running and we'll until the Easter patch, then for me the crashes started happening. But others were running the finals with no problems. I couldn't get any support though because the OS is unofficially supported. Fingers crossed that changes!! 🤞

Left the game 1 month after launch because woke swedish management refused to region lock servers from famously cheating countries because ✨Xenophobia✨. Something tells me they still didn't listen and now this is the results. It is reaching "new world" in terms of players in 1/3 of the time

I kinda agree on the ranked part, ranked solo queue suuuuucks right now, it's one of the drivers of my dropping it season 1 after finishing the BP. I picked the game back up in season 2 and have been playing it every day so far though since power shift and the new modes are super fun. Queue times are atrocious sometimes though. Ranked needs a more transparent MMR and an actual SBMM system so I don't get into games with plats as gold and have bronzes on my squad.

A love letter to the current ranked system we have and my hopes that we won't shift to a worse ranked system in the future or this ends up as a game that overhauls it's ranked system every season-

As it stands the ranked system when understood is one of the best in any game not just shooters, understanding the system which took me and friends weeks of experimentation to comprehend the system using multiple accounts and constantly tracking our up and down arrows the ranked system we have now is what best reflects 'The Finals' as a game where skill is difficult to calculate as the difference between victory and defeat can be one well-timed Goo/Frag Grenade.

Currently it's based entirely off of wins and losses, fortunately wins and losses are an easy way to calculate skill where as what if we got points for every action we did in the game... such as scoring kills and stealing cashouts? How would we calculate rank deserved from blocking damage with goo grenades or mesh shield, being a distraction for our teammates with the riot shield? How do we make sure healers are ranking up along side they're fragging allies? just as importantly- how do we ensure people can't exploit these gain rates?

I would like You guys at Embark to make this system more understood and see the community's feedback on a more transparent stance on this system before going forward and moving to a new ranked system which could hurt the ranked progression of many players, knowing that there was a hidden MMR Value that influenced up and down arrows and sharing that knowledge has helped so many players understand and appreciate this system more than the last one... there are some players who want a different, easier system but what's the point of a competitive ranked system if it's easier? It should be difficult to climb to and hold onto high ranks, tis the spirit of competitive play after all.

Heavy feels unbalanced because of the RPG, it just drops you down to too much health and straight up retires lights while lewis and M60 have higher dps but low handling and lower mobility. Turn RPG into a mobillity weapon.
give us TF2 rocket jump - damage to 50 ammo to 2 self to 20 give it better vertical movement over horezontal(eg when you shoot yourself up you cant move around while mid-air, so if you get charge and slammed then its basicly your fault.

Glitch grenade just sucks, the only 2 things that its meant to counter are two temp shields and the effect does not last long enough. In most cases its faster to spray your weapon and reload then it is to pull out the grenade throw and go back to gun.
Rework tracking dart to be a EMP coil that lasts for the same amount of time, cant dodge it, puts enemy out of action for valuble time so, making it more worth it than just throwing a grenade. could remove glitch G if you do this but its your oyster.

give smoke to heavy, give sonarG to med

rework Heavy GL to a sticky bomb like the softball from titanfall 2, grenade sticks to any surface including the player and detonates with a fuse after attaching.

the new ranked system is weird, going down 3 each time even if its second round and sometimes only going up 2 for a win? the only way to rank up is to consistently win each game you win, i went on a 5 win streak yesterday and still didnt rank up, which is hard considering a lot of people dont have three stacks to play with

APS: Proactivity and fck your projectile problem (Day 22 of asking)

Notes:
. to start off, i love the idea of the aps, the ability of being able to defend an area locking down a room is fun
. but its just unfair in some situation all because the "fck your projectile" part of APS.
for a weapon like the GL that shoot projectile you basically lose the fight automatically
. and for powershift its basically mandatory to win (that gamemode need a rework tbh)
. also seens we're talking about powershift, its basically impossible to destroy the aps not only because the wall but also the fact that it can be replace instantly due to no cooldown on destroy
. its also a one and done. meaning once you place it down it just stay there forever

Suggestion: what i want to see
. (fck your projectile) either make it so it take damage with each projectile destroy. Or it can only destroy 3 projectile then broke
. and also give it a 3 second activation time like the turret have

I'll be glad when they keep Terminal Attack because that can be the 5v5 mode. I need quick cash to stay so I have an option when I don't want to think so hard in Cashout (yes, my brain is this tiny). I'm cool with whatever, though. Also, my experience with solo bank it was just third, fourth, fifth, sixth partying... I was probably playing with a bunch of relatively low level casuals just running in but I wasn't surprised when Embark ditched it.

Heavy effective Health Point issue:
Note:

  • what is effective hp? well its not the actually hp on the ui, thats your base health point.
    effective hp is the amount of damage needed to kill
  • heavy have alot of ability that give him alot of effective hp like 750hp mesh shield, 300doom sheild, and unbreakable barricade. ON Top of the thing you already have like 350hp of heavy, heal beam and adding all that together is 1400 effective health not including heal beam

Suggestion: i have no idea how to fix this and this is the only good idea i have, even then i think its bad change

  • cut all shield hp by 100hp but in retrun give it 1sec invisibility on activation
    . this will make the shield more offensive holpfully (don't give this to mesh

Bro this ranked system is so shit, and I'm not just saying this because I'm tilted over being hardstuck plat 4 for 15 games plus, but also that I've won two ranked tournaments and then followed them both up with a win in the first round of the next match and I STILL haven't ranked up. I was on 3 up arrows and then lost in the second round and now I'm at one down arrow again SMH. FIXED YOUR RANKED SYSTEM EMBARK

The Finals is doing good so far when it comes to the gameplay physics, and the endless onslaught of players fighting. There may be a couple of bugs but besides that it is a good game to play daily when given the chance. The ranked system could be refined a bit when checking your player stats and game wins by utilizing overall score to tell the player what they could improve to better their chances at ranking up. Rather than being left in the dark.

Could we please please please lower the requirement for the "Deep Pockets" achievement? It takes an immense amount of game time to complete.

I currently have over 215 hours logged and have unlocked every single achievement besides "Heavy Hand" (need ~90 more wins) and "Deep Pockets" (~16mil/50mil). I'm not going to log another 460+ hours to the game just for this one achievement (I did the math) I mean cmon

and its very situational, so you basically handicap yourself for trying to play the game

This game is becoming more and more rubbish, the servers are getting worse with each passing day, the cheaters and Smurf are increasing more and more, the general balance sucks, the sbmm is horrendous and very badly made, the ranked games are vomiting, the game is no longer entertaining or casual or competitive, it only entertains fucking fan boys. Wake up and get over it, you're doing a terrible job, you started off well but you're destroying a game with very high potential.

We need to see who is partied with who in the ranked scoreboard, this is important for getting video proof for people getting boosted by hackers as this is a very large demographic for hackers. Hitting these boosted accounts is how you get people to stop paying for boosts which would heavily cut into the motive to hack.
